I don't really like chain pharmacies, unless it's Costco. Unfortunately, the days of the small neighborhood drugstore are gone. However, I will stop by while driving by if there's something on my toiletries list that I need. Such was the case recently with this CVS on the way to the Tamarack Casino for Aggie Muster. A special type of mouthwash seems to be a poor reason to stop, but it was convenient. This CVS took a little time to navigate, but I did find what I was looking for. I have lived around the corner from this store for years. I have seen some great employees come and go over the years as they seem to not be able to retain the good ones. What irritates the s**t out of me is how long you have to wait for anything that is locked up. And the things that are sometimes locked up are ridiculous!!!!!! I go out of town frequently and sometimes would like to get my prescription filled a day or two early (since I will be out of town when my medication runs out). Usually they are okay about it, and there is no issue. But a new, older pharmacist I have never seen would not let me pick up one day early on my four day weekend. He would only agree to fill on the exact date I ran out. I had to either stay in town until Sunday, or go out of town, and then come all the way back, and then go out of town again. Always an issue with the night shift. Doesn't matter if I go in person, order online for pick up, order pictures for pick up. They are useless, and need to be trained better. Most recent visit is today. I ordered pictures online for Pick Up in store. Tell me why it takes more than 2.5 hours to print 6 pictures? I showed up and they are not ready. I have printed pictures, ordered online pick ups and have gone in person to this CVS in the morning NEVER an issue. Went to go pick up my prescription, but the pharmacy tech said there was nothing she could find on file so I left but realized I had a text confirming my prescription. So I turned around and went back right before they closed but they had already shut the windows so I tapped on the glass to get the attention of one of the techs. She came over and open up the door and said "we're closed" to which I replied there must have been an error in looking up my prescription because I was just here and was told I didn't have a prescription to pick up but here I have a text notification of the prescription ready for pick up. Her reply was "well we're closed". I asked when do you close because it's 4:59pm and again her reply was "we're closed" almost to the point of yelling at me now. I understand her frustration but I again explained I was just here and was told that I do not have a prescription but here I have a text confirming I do have a prescription so there must have been an error. She seemed very agitated now and replied "it's probably for another location" to which I showed her on the text that it was in deed this store. This did not make her happy as she raised her voice even louder and said "we are closed". Getting nowhere with this associate I looked behind her as this situation has gravitated every near by attention now and I said but it's 4:59pm and online it says your open till later. Her fellow associate said I can drive to another location across town that is open till 10pm so I decided to cut my losses and asked for her name, obviously to leave a complaint, and she said "none of your business" and then slammed the door. It's frustrating the demeanor of an associate to behave like that when obviously there was an error on their behalf and instead of rectifying the situation she escalated into a hostile interaction. It was especially unprofessional as I had my kids with me but she did not seem to care less about curbing her attitude. CVS Pharmacy - Associate - Drugstores Near Me - RENO, Nevada

There's a reason why this pharmacy has a one and a half star rating because it is atrocious and unprofessional. As a customer to be greeted with "we close in five minutes have your barcode ready" is extremely unprofessional in all levels. Then when the clerk was ready to attend to me there are absolutely no greetings "hi there" "how are you" "welcome" "how may I help you" rather it was "where's your barcode" and me not having any clue what she's talking about asked her what barcode because I'm here to pick up a prescription. She then rudely told me I should have signed up before hand on their app because they are closing in a few minutes. Mind you this is an option to sign up through their website, not a new requirement in order to get prescriptions. I said I do not have an account may I please pick up my prescription, and she proceeded to ask me birthday and name which are more familiar and formal protocols. In order to obtain said prescriptions from the pharmacy. Needless to say, the interaction could've been better, I will not be going back to this pharmacy nor will I be patronizing any CVS drugstores in the future. read more

The lady who works during swing shift is a little bit racist. I showed her a picture of a medication that I needed and instead of asking me what I needed (like something similar) she pointed me the Hispanic section. Literally she said "Maybe is in the hispanic section". It was an emergency and I needed a med with acetaminophen (Tylenol). I think they knew they did wrong, because later another Team Member, approached me asking if everything was alright and asked what I needed. I was already upset and I had what I needed. When I went to register, they asked me if I had an account with them, I said no. Then, they asked me if my mom or grandma had one. Like assuming I was not from Reno. No, I don't have one because I don't go to CVS that often. I live in Reno, I'm American with Hispanic roots but I don't look Hispanic. I showed them a picture of Medicine that I can find at Walgreens that my Mexican Mom texted me. However, I felt really offended. Please train your staff on how to handle customers. read more

I was sick for 3 weeks and decide to fill my 3 prescriptions at this location. Not only did they give me false information about a drug that they claimed was "out of stock in all of reno", whenever I tried to call, I would be put on hold for 44 min, 60 min the next. When I did enter the store pharmacy they seemed stretched so thin, they're back office was just stuffed with boxes and boxes and piles of ppls prescriptions, it was so unorganized. There wasn't even a pharmacist on duty that they told me, which is unacceptable. Not only that, I signed up for the texts, and after the pharmacy tech told me "we're out of stock in all of reno, I got a text update that said my script was ready...I lived 20 min away, had I known the pharmacy tech was being dishonest, I would have waited for my meds. Gas is too expensive for me to keep going back and forth. This is unacceptable to me and I want them all fired. They wouldn't let a senior couple in front of me get their Covid booster shots despite telling them several times they couldn't get through making appointments on the web. There was no one else in line besides me they could've easily make an exception to give the couple their shots but they rather send their patients out the door without any help. Tonight was one of the craziest pharmacy experiences I have ever dealt with. My daughter is very Ill and after waiting all day she received a message saying it would be ready at 7pm. I went in to get it only to be belittled by the pharmacist that they did not have the medication, cvs could not order this medicine, and said I'd have to call the Dr to redo the prescription to the Merck brand from Pfizer. I said all the Dr offices are closed , so I have any other option? He said if I could find another pharmacy he could transfer it. I found Walmart had it. I asked that he transfer it. He seemed angry as it was now near closing time. He said he transferred it. He blatantly lied!! He did not.. This was the anti viral covid med. I was treated like I was doing something wrong and all I wanted was to get this med prescribed by her Dr so that she doesn't end up in a serious situation or in the hospital. Cvs corporate you will hear from me and a legal team if she gets seriously ill and hospitalized from this complete rudeness, lack of caring and compassion, follow though and doing the job a pharmacy should be doing. I then tried to get the second med requested by her Dr. --Sudafed that is kept behind the counter now. The pharmacist tried to give me every drug but.. as it was the last box of Sudafed ? Very odd experience... I'm completely still in awe at this crazy day and evening with just trying to pickup meds that was an epic fail. If this were a one time occurrence I wouldn't complain but this is every month I refill my prescription. My insurance company makes me use CVS to receive the discount, but it's really almost not worth my time or aggravation. I use the refill over the phone option, giving them 48+ hours to fill my scrip and inevitably I go in and it hasn't been started, they ask me for my information 3-4 times and fill it when I stand there. Today was worse because not only did I have to stand and wait for my prescription, they didn't have the full amount so I have to GO BACK tomorrow after 3pm. Really? I'm going to complain to my insurance company as well. They are close to my work but they need more people working, and they need to stick with the time frame they request you provide them when filling your prescription. read more

The worst pharmacy in Reno BY FAR. The phone answering tree is a disaster of technology and leaves you hanging listening to garbage music and ads for CVS. The pharmacy is understaffed consistently and leads to the staff being rushed and not taking care of their customers or the medicines which they dispense. This leads the paying customer to question if the medicine which is dispensed is in keeping with the doctors orders. This is just not a one-time slip up but has consistently happened for the 5 years during which I have been required to do business with them by my insurance company. Horrible customer service! Do not order on line. I made a large Vitamin order that was "Buy One, Get One Free". Never received the "Get One Free" and tried to contact web order at their 1 800 number and could never get through. When I opened the Centrium multi vitamin, it was full of mold. Called the South Virginia Location as have had no luck trying to contact web orders. Steve the manager basically said "Sorry Charlie, your out of luck" as we can't help with web purchases and are not taking any store returns. Offered to send a picture of the moldy product and receipt... Was not interested in helping me at all. THEY HAVE LOST A REGULAR CUSTOMER that use to buy prescriptions, cosmetics, liquor and other items every month. Sorry Charlie! P.S. Their pharmacy drive through is a joke. Worst pharmacy I've ever dealt with. I have had nothing but issues with them every time I come to pick up a prescription. Not to mention they constantly have a line 20 deep. If you plan to pick up a prescription, plan on spending 3 hours of your time waiting on them to get their things together. This is the absolute worst Pharmacy in the history of the world. They jerked me around for a week saying my doctor didn't do something they needed. Turns out I must have upset the pharmacist. She deliberately held my med's.! She was just coming out to tell me she couldn't give them to me again. Now remember I've been out for a week and this med is not supposed to be cut off cold turkey. Disappointed. Came in here to kill a couple of birds - pick up some items and use their photo center. They did not carry the cords that attach your phone to the Kodak machine (even Wal-Mart does this for you). The customer service at this CVS is beyond terrible! Hold times on the phone ranges anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour! There is a drive thru with two lanes that is constanly "out of order" and when it is open, I end up waiting 30+ minutes for my prescriptions. Currently on hold as I type this - 35 minutes and counting! The first time I called it was 15 minutes when someone finally picked up the phone and hung up causing me to call back and sit on hold again. Employees are very short with people, and are not friendly at all. Similar experiences at another CVS in northwest Reno - I even called corporate on them for giving me the run around with my special needs daughter's meds and keeping me on hold for over two hours. The only reason why I picked one star is because it says "Hated it!" ... really this is a no star store. I don't know what it is with the staff or the management that has gotten so out of control at this location but AVOID THIS CVS AT ALL COSTS even though the reviews at other Reno CVS locations do not seem that much better. My nine year old daughter had a lemon-aid stand. It took her three hours in the hot sun to earn $10 (not bad considering the tiny little street we live on). So what does a nine year old girl want with her new found wealth? Candy bars. So while on errands with the family she decides that she is going to purchase 3 candy bars at the advertised price of $0.25 each... for a grand total of $0.75. When she reached the checkout the cashier attempted to charge her $2.50 per candy bar and absolutely REFUSED to walk around the counter to read the advertised price and adjust the error. After becoming impatient and rude with my NINE YEAR OLD CHILD she flat out refused to reduce the scanned item to match the signage. My husband then stepped in and would not allow the cashier to bully my daughter out of $6.75 (for CANDY! Despite an advertised sale. That is how insane these people are.) When they came home my daughter told me the story. I have worked in retail. I know what good customer service is. And I know when it sucks. Thinking this must be a mistake I called the manager.... only to hear the same story. Manager: Well, you would have needed to use your Extra Care Card. Me: Uhm... we have an Extra Care Card. Manager: Well, maybe you have already used your candy coupon... (wait... WHAT??? Already used a candy coupon? Since when do you advertise a sale price and then decide that you are going to so hedge your sale that it is just flat out false advertising?? The lack of logic in the manager's statement literally was unfathomable. I got a headache just trying to make that statement make any sort of sense whatsoever. ) Me: Ok, well.. she's nine. She isn't going to read a sale tag and attempt to calculate whether or not the stars have aligned just perfectly for the cashier to honor your company's in store signage. She is going to trust that the adults are going to be honest in their business practices. At that point the manager offered to sell my daughter the candy bars at the advertised price. (She had been apologetic, but with loads of excuses for the cashier's rude behavior. It was as if she were saying "I'm sorry your child is so stupid as to think that what we advertise things at is what we are going to sell them for. She really should have read all the fine print before bothering our poor put upon cashier with her attempted purchase.") At this point I was so flabbergasted with how high up the food chain the lack of service (and basic mathematic skills) actually went in this store I was finished trying to resolve this issue. There was no way I was going to spend the gas on my daughter's Saturday to take her back into the lion's den. I informed the manager that this would definitely become a store review and I ended the call. Be careful when making purchases here. If you are ever going through the register and you think to yourself "Hmm... that doesn't seem right." stop the entire process and double check. Don't be intimidated by the cashier's rolling her eyes or calling for register backup in a rather irritated voice. Making you feel that you are the one being rude is how these people bully you through check out and out the door without questioning their advertising practices. It's a scam. And if they will pull it on a nine year old child, they will pull it on an eighty-five year old on a fixed income. There is no honor here. These people have no code. We will not be back. read more

I keep thinking it's a good idea to send my prescription to my closest pharmacy, this one, and I end up wrong every time. There have been multiple times now where I go in to get my medication which has been called in hours prior and it hasn't been started yet, I'm talking 5 or 6 hours ago I was told it'd be about 30 minutes. So I went back the next for my latest medication after being told it wasn't ready and they told me they couldn't give me it because it had already been filled. But obviously I didn't have the medication....so I had the doctor send it somewhere else because I've put up with CVS b.s. for years and I'm done. read more
