We dropped by this CVS location because we were in the neighborhood; upon entering the store, I noticed how well organized the displays were- even the clearance section, and the attendants seemed eager to help customers. The store in general looked clean and well stocked and a lot of items were on sale. We were able to find the items we were looking for and then some; overall, our brief visit to the store was a positive shopping experience. read more

Worst pharmacy in Reno. Does whatever they can to NOT fill prescriptions. Had a non controlled rx sent over, they say it required a wet signature. No it doesn't. It's not controlled. Had another rx sent over for my wife completely different med. They say there is an insurance issue and can't fill it. Had it filled at another cvs down the road. This CVS Pharmacy will take advantage of you if you go through the prescription drive-through. They also won't text or call prior to pick up to inform you, your prescription is over $290.00+. They won't ask or tell you how many months of medications you will receive during pick up either etc. I couldn't pick up my other prescription medications because the price was unexpectedly high. I was sticker shocked I had received a three month supply of medications without telling me why it was so expensive the day I had picked up my medications, until I came home and discovered it was too late to correct CVS for a one month supply instead. I never asked for a 3 month supply, and CVS withheld that very important information! No explanation either and lack of transparency! Zero helpfulness at the drive-through pick up. A robot would've been more helpful. A 30 day supply was only needed to keep the costs low and reasonable. I didn't need a surprise three month supply of meds with a big surprise bill! CVS doesn't care! Now you've lost a customer. Do better CVS pharmacy. read more

The pharmacist was horrible, we were greeted okay, I gave the necessary information to get my prescription. Then he proceeded to just put the medication in the basket and walk off into the back. I had questions on how to take the medication but was not asked if I needed any assistance I waited for a minute unsure and the pharmacist proceeded to walk in the back. At least even at McDonald's I've had better customer service. read more

I needed a Covid test. My primary suggested going to my pharmacy since they didn't have an appointment any time soon. Since home tests are no longer covered I made an appointment at the CVS on Damonte I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. I was seen within 5 minutes of my appointment time. I don't know if the woman there was an MD or PA or NP but it didn't really matter since all I was getting was the Covid test. Much to my surprise she not only administered the test but also did a basic exam. You know...the kind of exam we used to get every time we'd see our doctors. Eyes, ears, nose, say ahhhhh. I've had 2 Covid tests prior to this one and neither of those did anything more than swab my nose. As you can probably guess from my tone, I'm very happy with the service provided. Don't waste your time looking for anything here, their shelves are always empty and their staff non existent. Go to Walmart in the same parking lot where the shelves are full and the self checkout is right next to pharmacy. You'll be in and out in 2mins. CVS makes money in their prescription area and its clear that's where they divert their funds and staff, but how can we trust it when the front of store is an absolute shit show waste of time. The long haired grungy hippy guy at the front was extremely rude when I asked to buy an oral syringe for my child to take his cold medicine. I have no idea how that man was taught how to treat people nevertheless work with customers- He said he doesn't give them out or sell unless you have meds from there - I went to the cvs down the street on steamboat. First of all I think 6pm is way too early for a Pharmacy to close. Then I was trying to find some things in the isles such as 3M Tegaderm +Pads and items to refill my first aid kits for mountain biking and hiking and I noticed that most isles looked raided and disheveled and like the store was practically empty. There was a sign on the front door that said something about Health Hub. If it's a store devoted to health then why is there so much sugar and candy in the store? Bravo for removing all the cigarettes a while ago, but what is this a Candy store that sells other drugs and a couple band-aids (if they aren't sold out) going to shop on Amazon again. I tried getting insulin syringes for my uncle and I was told by the ignorant pharmacist that syringes require a prescription which I told her it doesn't. As I began reading her the law, she said she wasn't going to change her mind, because we both know that she was lying as pharmacists are notorious liars when they are discriminating against people and have no other means of justifying their behavior. I'm curious exactly what these people are taught in school because a vast majority are absolute jerks right out of the gate. To the woman who abuses her authority, it's fortuitous you are in the only industry that has altogether forsaken customer service. And you're no longer behind the iron curtain so deal with our burdensome freedoms and shut up and do what you are told. Apparently customer service is not a priority for CVS. Instead of implementing rotating lunches as most large businesses in America do, they shut down in the middle of the day from 1:30-2pm. Who cares if you need your medication or that you just drove with your $6+ /gallon of gas to get there. Oh, and the half hour wasn't enough, they chose to be on lunch until 2:15. Oh CVS....(smh) Came here for a pair of headphones because they always have great sales on just about everything in the store but especially their headphones. This particular visit, the pair of headphones I was looking to purchase were 50% off!! Crazy right?! When walking in to the store, I didn't see the headphones near the front area; so I asked for assistance. The lady at the register was very friendly and seemed eager to help us find them even though this was not the same store she normally works at. After some searching around, we located the headphones in a locked case which is now located towards the back of the store now. This case requires you to contact a store associate so they can unlock it for you. Apparently, they have had some problems with theft on these items....makes sense to have them locked up. We called for assistance to get the headphones we wanted and Ken came back and gladly helped us out. We pointed out the ones we wanted and he got them for us; then proceeded to the front of the store so that we could check out. Here's the 1 star kicker.... He rang up the headphones and I went through the motions of making payment with my debit card (with chip). Now, most card machines nowadays have a chip reader that requires the consumer to insert their cards versus sliding it. These don't always work either because the machine is worn out or the chip on the card is dirty and just needs to be cleaned with a cloth or alcohol wipes. When I tried making making the payment, well.... you guessed it; my card was having difficulties being read by the machine. After trying two times, Ken the store associate; asked for my card and I thought to myself "okay, now he's just going to manually punch in the card information so that we can be on our way". Boy was I wrong... He took my card and then proceeded to lick his thumb and then began scrubbing away at the chip on my card!! At this point, I could not believe what I was witnessing.... You could say that I was in a slight moment of shock. After I processed what was actually happening, I immediately called him out on it and said "Ken, did you really just spit on my card....why would you do that??"....."You should be ashamed of yourself Ken for doing that and I'm completely appalled by what you just did and promoting the spread of germs" By this time, I have gotten everyone's attention in line as well as the other store associates who made there way to the front of the store to see what was going on; only to have them hear his reply.... With no concern, he replied... "Point taken that you are not happy but understand, that there are just as many germs if not more on that keypad your using to punch in your pin" I told him, "You know Ken, you might be right but you are completely out of line for spitting on my card". At this point, I asked for the store manager and he said they are not in today and he was very hesitant to provide this information to me. read more

Yikes! Not sure what was in the air at the CVS pharmacy today. The several people ahead of me were talked to in a very unfriendly and very loud tone from the pharmacist and left the store visibly upset. Then it was my turn. She stated that my husband should not be on the medication we were picking up. I told her his doc just prescribed it for his back. She said he could not take them together and angrily asked why he was even prescribed any of them. I get she was trying to share her expertise. But, her angry tone and communication style was not ok. I tried to explain again they were just called in and why..when she got more frustrated with me and when I asked for her card (so our doctor could follow up with her) she then just walked away from me. I wasn't sure what was going on at that point. The pharmacist was ignoring me. Finally another employee came up and began to help me. I explained we will double check with his doctor. (Which we did and doc told us everything was ok and reached out to the pharmacist directly as well). But, the unprofessional experience was definitely felt by me and the three folks ahead of me today. read more

This pharmacy was terrible pre covid and worse now. They consistently claim they don't get electronica prescriptions. This time I used minute clinic that is part of their organization and I called and emailed 10 times in two days to get my prescription filled and they kept telling me they didn't have it. After talking to the pharmacy manager and two minute clinic managers I finally got a call saying my prescription was received and was ready they confirmed it with the pharmacist. When I went to pick it up they said they had no receipt of the request. Two days when you're sick and waiting for medication is unacceptable. I'm going to ask the minute clinic to send it to a different pharmacy all together outside of CVS. 55 Damonte Ranch Parkway is terrible I'll start using a different pharmacy for everything I need. read more

This is the worst pharmacy known to man. I take a medication that, like most medications, is made by several different manufacturers. One of these manufacturer's products gives me terrible side effects, another doesn't. I have told CVS at least 9-10 times that I CANNOT TAKE that particular generic. Yet, every time my prescription expires, here's CVS, trying to force the same terrible generic on me. They have told me at least 5 times that they noted in my chart that I cannot take this medication, yet nothing ever changes. In fact, they fool me into thinking my preferred generic is ready by telling me so via text, and then when I arrive, it's the one that makes me sick. Today, I waited 30 minutes in the drive-thru just to be told it's the medication I've told them time after time that I won't take! GREAT JOB GUYS! It's ironic that this pharmacy, which is supposed to help you get the medication you need, does the exact opposite. Go literally anywhere else. read more

I worked at cvs pharmacy years ago and the only reason they would take this long is because they short staff. Uploaded them to Snapfish and made out my order to print, paid online and they were ready at CVS within an hour. Easy in and out. About 25 cents per print. Ample parking. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. I called in a refill on my migraine medication today using their automated system... as we are forced to do these days. I went thru the series of requirements and their automated system said it would be ready at 12:15pm today. I show up at 12:20pm to be told that it required authorization and they've not heard back from my doctor. I said, "Really? Your automated system said nothing about authorization being required and that it'd be ready... so here I am." This person had the audacity to respond, "Well, we have nothing to do with the automated system." IS THAT SO? If that is the case, ma'am, then perhaps when people call in maybe YOU should answer the phone and tend to the customer instead of relying on YOUR automated system. I say YOUR system because that is what's on the other end of your phone number listed on my RX. YOUR system wasted my time, even though you "faxed it over twice" and were still waiting on my doctor to authorize it. Fix YOUR system so you don't waste MY time. Also, I understand that in today's world "customer service" is a thing of the past. We have to be tolerant of YOUR shortcomings, attitudes and excuses. So when you give me an excuse like, "Well, we have nothing to do with the automated system." you can certainly expect an attitude an vocal unpleasantries from the customer. read more

Located conveniently where I tend to do a lot of errands, this CVS is my go-to most of the time if I need a drugstore. And what do I usually need at a drugstore? Drugs. Bandaids. Nail polish. Shampoo. Stuff like dat dere stuff. The clerks are nice enough but don't ask them anything too complicated - you can watch a small veil of confusion descend slowly from their foreheads down to their chins if you catch them off guard. My doctor called in a prescription for me, they got this ready with in a very reasonable amount of time. The prescription prescribed to me was a very expensive one, and my dr was nice enough to give me a coupon to lower the price of the medication. she warned me that sometimes the pharmacy gives customers a hard time about using this coupon, so i was prepared. I handed the tech the coupon and he said it would be just a second. He worked quickly to apply the discount, no problem, no hassle. I paid and left. Frustrating. I came to pick up a prescription I confirmed this morning at 9am to pick up at 11 am. I showed up at 3 and no prescription. I was told because my insurance will not cover it was not filled. I paid the full price of $11 last month and at that time after paying $11 not the usual $3 that my insurance won't cover unless I get 3 refills at a time or get through my insurance company for the discount. A call would have cleared this up and maybe someone could have seen I paid full price last time...hmm maybe my $11 is no cause for concern with the mountain of medication sitting there that I'm sure are far more profitable than my prescription. Once this issue is cleared up I'll take all my vitamin and allergy medication to another pharmacy that cares enough to call. read more
