Today, I had the worst experience at this pharmacy. I ordered a refill on line that was confirmed to be ready for pick-up and when I got to the store it had not been filled. The clerk told me that the pharmacist was working on it, and I proceeded to do some shopping. 10 minutes later, I go back to the pharmacy, no refill ready. As I wait, I become aware that there has been a shift change, and that Joe, the pharmacist on duty when my prescription was being filled is not there. Finally, after I have been standing for 20 minutes (30 minutes total waiting time), the clerk tells me that my prescription is ready. I ask what happened to Joe? Why didn't Joe fill it? She tells me Joe had worked a 10 hour shift (I worked 12 hours today and I am grateful to have a job), and gone home. So in the last 10 minutes of his shift, Joe could not slap a label on a prepackaged asthma inhaler. No apology from the clerk. This is what happens when one company controls the majority share in one market. CVS has a monopoly on retail pharmacies in Southern California, and with less competition, the customer is never going to be right. read more

Ridiculous process at Pharmacy. I pick up the card where you can't buy the medicine because it's behind the pharmacist counter. It tells you to bring it to the counter, so I walk and wait in line in the "drop off" section. When I get there I ask the guy is this the right medicine for my nasal drip in the back of my throat. "No," he says "you have to go to pick up." Okay I go to "pick up" wait in line, when it's my turn I ask "is this the right medication for my nasal drip?" She says "that question is for my consultant" and points to the "consultant" line! Are you kidding me?! read more

I never get prescriptions and next time will be somewhere else. I got a root canal and I drop my pain medicine prescription off and they told me it would be ready in an hour. Well hour and a half later they tell me I have to wait another 30 minutes because it's a medicine That can only be filled by the pharmacist and the pharmacist is doing a flu shot. I guess the pain in my mouth from the root canal doesn't matter as much as a flu shot. So after two hours we will see if I finally get my prescription. Ridiculous! read more

This store recently did a renovation and it looks really nice. All of the staff from the Pharmacy to the clerks are always polite and professional. I realize that many people only use Yelp to make negative comments but if I feel compelled to complain about one business, I go out of my way to praise and give props to someone else so that I am not just perpetuating negativity! Truly disappointed in the pharmacy. The pharmacists and pharm techs have always been very polite, however extremely slow. The only time I get medicine in a timely fashion is during the walk-in, BUT if you do the drive in, it's a joke. This has happened numerous times. Today told me that my prescription would be ready 1.5 hrs from dropping off. I gave them 3 hrs sure to prior experience. Lo and behold.....not ready. Told me it would be ready in ANOTHER half hour. I have to say that the CVS employees are very rude. An employee actually yelled at me for using a tester lotion. She thought I was opening a new bottle. Another incident was with a cashier. She made a very rude comment about how old my husband looked compared to his drivers license picture. The picture was only taken a year ago. The worst customer service. The staff are rude. They yell at the customers. They put prescriptions called in on hold and they do not call the customer to confirm or inform. When you show up for your prescription they blaim the doctor and insurance and make you call all arund until they realize that it is their own fault. This happened to me 3 times in one month. I love the new design of this cvs. Everything is super clean tidy & organized. I go here daily to pick up milk after work and my only concern is that they're lines can get a little long when there is only one person working the register. Usually there's a lady who just looks bothered and doesn't want to be there. I'll still say thank you and have a nice day even though she's very short and looks a tad miserable. read more

Ok, so I realllly dislike this CVS. I make the effort whenever possible to go to the one off Kraemer and Bastanchury. Unfortunately, my doctor sends it to this pharmacy and I have yet to have them change it. I almost always have issues with my prescription. Once, my doctor sent to RX. I got in the long line in pick up and they were only able to find one. He told me to go back to "pick up" to figure out what went wrong. I waited in line there (yep, didn't get to go to the front or anything), and the person could not find it on the computer. Then, they went through a stack of paper in front of the computer and it was there, on the bottom pile! I said that the doctor sent it at the same time, why weren't they processed at the same time? They said that they got caught up and didn't get to it. So I said okj just call me over the intercom when it was ready. 5 minutes later, it was ready and I stood yet in another line. Something similar happened again just yesterday. The medications were on refill and my CVS app said it was ready yet ONE was ready and the other was not. The short Mexican guy was nice about it both times (yep, he helped me both times!) The younger girl with the different hair color, the lady with the accent and the young gentlemen with the bowtie are most helpful AND FRIENDLY. Everyone else is pretty much useless, especially the younger Asian female (Grace) is the worst. She doesn't care and won't admit to wrong doing or anything. The first time when I had the issue, I had emailed my doctor. After emailing back and forth, I get a call from the nurse who said she was trying to resolve the issue with CVS but that they were not being cooperative and were straight out rude. She even named Grace as the person who was rude. Yes, they did renovated the pharmacy area, and there are now seats for those who choose to wait but oh boy, ther is always a line, get ready for incompetence and for Grace to roll her eyes and be not so nice. And the pharmacy is not the only issue. Again, I avoid shopping here because of my previous experience. However, it was late (the other CVS closes early and this one is 24 hours) and I needed to buy a gift card which had a deal ending at midnight). A younger female was helping me. She asked if I was buying it for anyone and showed me a paper with a business card of a detective. I said no and asked why. Apparently, especially during the holiday, there is a scam going on where people are asked to buy gift cards to pay for stuff (or other). Because of our conversation, I totally forgot to give her my extra card care and did not get the extra bucks (the whole reason why I was even out late that night). So she said no worries and had it all ready for the manager to approve. Well, the manager is an older white lady who looked realllly unhappy to be there. She pretty much rolled her eyes at both me and the young cashier, reset the register and started all over again. At first, she said it could not be done. The cashier said "I had it ready for you." She rolled her eyes and re-did everything because she did not want to do it in the first place! Another time I went there, a dark skinned fat lady, also unhappy with life, would not honor my coupon because I had two of the same coupon! She pointed to the coupon policy. I said that it's fine, I'll just go down the street to the other CVS (again, I was only at this one buying something because I happen to be picking up medication). At that CVS, they gave me absolutely no issue. However, the Cetaphil I was buying was just a little bit more expensive. I found that odd but it ended up cheaper since they honored my coupon. Seriously, everyone besides the four pharm tech mentioned above, are terrible. They hate their job and it shows. CVS really need to find new workers, those who are proud to work there. The middle aged female cashiers are grumpy, probably divorced and hate life and it shows. Finally, last thing, I do not think they are printing coupons at the end of the receipt any longer. That's fine with me but I had no clue! CVS did not give us a heads up or anything. Without those coupons being emailed to me on Thursday (which stopped about a month ago) and extra bucks, etc., CVS definitely is overpriced! Oh yea, and last last thing, I always do those stupid survey, EVERY SINGLE TIME and never win the $1,000 sweepstake. I know it is a slim chance but I have probably completed over 100 of those over the years! I am starting to think it is never going to happen! read more

There is always a long time at the pharmacy, but they usually work through it fairly quickly and you don't end up waiting long. Horrible services in the pharmacy area. My parents always have to wait a long time even though they were giving advance notices via text that their prescriptions are ready. I have taken them there a few times and the guy that works there is horrible. He had entered my dad's name incorrectly, therefore the other staffs were not able to find his prescription. After a long time of going back and forth, he confessed that he entered the info incorrectly and we got the prescription. I have asked why don't they just correct it since we come in regularly for refills, and till this day they have this issue. Michael and the rest of the team in this pharmacy is one of the primary reasons I use this location for monthly refills. It's rare that you find a pharmacy with personable, helpful and caring folks. My experience with most chain locations has been awful which is why I don't plan on using any other pharmacy. You do business because of people, not products/price, and thanks to the people here, they have a repeat customer who will enthusiastically refer friends and family. Food for thought: I went to this place while incredibly sick (so little to no patience) to talk to a pharmacist about getting some relief from a wracking cough, at about 10pm. The man who saw me was incredibly nice, patient with me, and very helpful despite the hour and line before me. He listened and helped me find meds that would help me get through this miserable ordeal, and though I am still sick, I do feel a lot better, and I REALLY appreciate that he came out from behind the counter to help me find something that would help, even when there were others still waiting. I am very grateful for this man, and for the 24 hour pharmacy at this location. read more

This used to be my favorite pharmacy but not anymore. They cheated me on an Rx, they always gave me 3boxes, now for the same price $65 wanted to give me only one! I called my Ins they were paid over $206. For the Rx & I explained to is too expensive and returned it. They took it from me but refuse to give me my credit. I am disputing with my credit card. Last sunday I went into this location just to buy twin pack contact lens solution. It was just one thing which cost $16.99. I calculated myself and using a $6 digital manufactured coupon and my $6 extrabucks, I should be charged $4.99. I was charged $10.99 which means one of them didn't apply for some reason. I told the cashier over and over again and she kept saying it's correct and nothing was wrong with the transaction. She kept saying $6 was applied. She didn't know the difference between $6 extra bucks and $6 manufactured coupon!!! She had NO CLUE what had happened and I finally had to request a manager because I just could not help the cashier understand the problem. Well, for some reason, the digital coupon did not pop up when she scanned the item. It was a technology screw up. Finally, the manager solved the problem (which wasn't that difficult to begin with, remember it was only ONE item) and she manually created a $6 extra bucks to take in place of the missing digital coupon. I told the manager to train her clueless cashier and on my receipt the cashier is Raelyn. I usually go to my neighborhood pharmacy in 1240 yorba linda blvd (placentia) location and I hardly have any dumb problem like this. Cashiers actually understand if something goes wrong and I never have to request a manager. This was suppose to take less than 5 minute but it end up taking way more time. If I can, I will avoid this CVS in the future. I would highly suggest that they train their employees to distinguish extra bucks versus manufactured coupons because this is a no brainer. read more

Im so irritated right now. I was on hold for 15 minutes and then the lady finally answered and hung up on me. So I called back only to have her tell me to hold and before I could say anything the hold music came back on. It is now 10 minutes and 30 seconds of being on hold AGAIN. I need my migraine medication and this is just insane. I understand they're busy, I work in customer service as well, but there is no need to have a customer on hold for a collective time of almost THIRTY minutes. This was one of the worst experience that I have, and I will avoid this CVS location if I can. Went to this store with my husband for his prescription.The staff was on the phone for about 5-10 minutes while we were waiting. When she was done, she talked behind the computer screen perhaps to ask how she can help. My husband had to get really close to see if she was talking to us. I wasn't sure if she was willing to provide service to customers. She said the prescriptions should be ready in 15 minutes, and she will call us when it's ready. We waited in the store for about 25 minutes, didn't hear the call. So we went to check and waited in the pick up line. There was a customer checking out, and it took a while for some reason. We waited for about 10 minutes, when we were up, another customer came to cut us off, and the staff didn't help us first, instead told us that he will help us soon. We signed an agreement on the screen that we were offered to talk to a pharmacist about the prescriptions. In reality, we had to ask to talk to a pharmacist. My experience with other pharmacies is that the pharmacist will explain things needed attention when we pick up the prescriptions. Overall, I didn't feel welcome at this pharmacy. read more

This place drives me NUTS!!! Pharmacy always takes FOREVER in filling prescriptions. They tell you they'll let you know when it's ready but I never get an ETA nor do they ever use the overhead or text message system to let you know when it's ready. If you are seriously or terminally ill, do NOT use this CVS Pharmacy at 150 E. Yorba Linda, Blvd. in Placentia. After trying to work with this particular pharmacy for a year, I have found that some of the pharmacy managers, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are not particularly interested in your business and certainly not in partnering with you as you battle your illness. Some of them can be cold, unhelpful and not compassionate. For specific examples of some of the issues I have faced with them, read on. Please note: Just because your insurance may contract with CVS Caremark to manage pharmacy services does not mean you must use a CVS Pharmacy. Call CVS Caremark at 1-877-542-0284 to see what other pharmacies in your area are covered by your plan. Here are some of the difficulties I have had to deal with, specifically in trying to get controlled substance prescriptions filled at this particular pharmacy. I have inoperable Stage IV cancer that has spread to the liver, lungs and bone, and pain medications are necessary to help me function: 1. I live in Placentia and am being treated at the City of Hope, a cancer specialty medical institution in Duarte. Because the City of Hope is more than 15 miles away from Placentia, the pharmacists have sometimes refused to fill prescriptions from there. I have had to kick up a fuss with the pharmacy managers to get the prescriptions filled. 2. CVS Pharmacies are notorious for not keeping enough of controlled substances, such as hydrocodon and oxycodone, in stock to meet customer demand. This means when you go to drop off your prescription (some of which, incidentally, are not allowed to be refilled by federal law), they will often tell you they are out of it and to make matters worse, they will not let you leave your prescription with them to be filled when it does become available. The burden is upon the patient to call back to see if the drug has arrived, and then make another trip to the pharmacy to drop off the prescription. This is often difficult if you are too sick to make another trip to the pharmacy. I pointed this out to one of the pharmacy technicians, and she looked me right in the eye and coldly said: "Then, you'll just have to find someone to drop it off for you". I live alone and while I have many wonderful friends and family who would happily drop off a prescription for me, my need to live independently as much as I can was sorely tested by this attitude. 3. The final straw for me was when one of the pharmacy technicians wouldn't fill a prescription because she couldn't read my prescription pick-up record correctly and count. When I tried to renew a prescription on January 26, 2015, she said it was too soon to do this because my last prescription for the same substance was filled on December 2, 2014 even though my prescription record clearly stated that it was only a 15-day supply. December 2 - January 26 is 56 days - more than triple the amount of time allowable between prescription fill times. When I complained to the Store Manager about this, I got several apologies, but he didn't even bother to take my name and number to look into the matter further. I quit! read more

Went there to buy a face moisturizer. Had no idea what to get - usually it's Olay but what I picked out I wasn't sure would work. Because Olay products are locked up, the CVS employee who had to unlock it for me really acted like she cared how it worked. She said to try it and if it didn't work, come back and she would suggest something else. I asked her what that was and she took me to a line I had never tried before. She ran a test on my cheek and suggested one of the products she says she uses (her skin looked great). I told her I was surprised to get this kind of service and knowledge for off the shelf products in a CVS. She said a lot of them who worked in that section were estheticians. I am definitely going back there and will likely try other products she suggests. She took her time, was knowledgeable and very friendly. read more

Do NOT get your passport photo taken here. the fat ugly brunette woman taking the pictures is a CUNT. she refused to take my photo because I'm short. Then because I was wearing a jacket. Then because I had bangs. So I take the jacket off and put my bangs behind my ear, then she complains that my shoulders are uneven, and gives me SO much attitude about "well, you want to get through, don't you??" you mean to tell me airport security won't let me through with bangs and a jacket? I don't think so. She was just so so SO rude and had SUCH a bad attitude the whole time. It pains me to give this store such a low review, especially since I've been going to this location for years and most of the workers there know me and look forward to seeing me, but THIS BITCH. She should honestly be fired. No customer service at all. If you hate your life and you're gonna be rude to everyone, don't work with the public. If I wasn't in such a hurry to make an appointment, she would have gotten socked. read more
