I've been using the Walgreens in Placentia as my primary pharmacy for the past eight years. The most convenient thing about this location is that they have a drive-through window for picking up prescriptions. There is rarely more than a car or two in line, if any. The pharmacy staff has always been friendly and efficient both at the drive-through window and inside. On a few occasions when I needed a prescription urgently, they were always happy to expedite it and have it ready within an hour or two. A few times when my doctor's office was slow to send more refills, they gave me a five day emergency supply so I wouldn't be without a medication. I switched health insurance plans this year and Walgreens is no longer in-network, but I wouldn't hesitate to come back in the future. read more

Went in to buy a gift card for a party I was on my way to when the clerk accidentally charged me for an Apple gift card not an Amazon. She made an mistake, totally understand that, but then her shift lead said it was too bad, they couldn't do a thing about it, I'd have to call the 877# for reimbursement AND... if I wanted the Amazon card I'd have to pay for that one too. (which I did). I called the 877# and they told me only the store could remedy the mistake (of course) maybe call customer service. I did just that opened a case (#26553056) with Walgreens customer service and this is their reply back; Thank you for taking your time to contact Walgreens Corporate Offices. We appreciate hearing from our customers and value all comments received. Please be advised, Walgreens corporate policy is no refunds or exchanges on gift cards. Disappointing experience today. Have been developing photos at Walgreens for almost 10 years and the service has gone down hill drastically as of lately. I placed an online photo order February 20 and then another one yesterday March 1st. I received a text that both photo orders were ready so I went into the store. When I got to the photo counter, I stated that I believed I had two different orders. She asked for the last name and the sizes I told her, and then she looked in the bins behind her. She then quickly said "nope, you only have one order" & slapped the photos on the counter and then told me my total. I thought maybe I misunderstood the text and the second order was still not ready so I paid and left. Once I got to the car I looked at the txts and realized they in fact texted me that both of my orders are ready. I open the envelope she gave me hoping that maybe they place the second order in there because it was only one photo? Once I opened the envelope, I realized that one of the pictures I paid for wasn't even printed. They gave me a blank white picture. And honestly, this is not the first time this has happened. I have been using Walgreens quite often recently for wedding stuff as I am planning our wedding and this is at least the third time I've received a blank photo. The first time I thought maybe it was an oversight and tried to give the benefit of the doubt but three times it's quite ridiculous. I mainly come here for their PHOTO SERVICES. They always have discounted prints, woodblocks, canvases, etc. - always GREAT quality photos! I come here for my medicine too and they always are helpful but not always quick. They have a good variety of holiday decor each season that's fun to browse and lots of snacks that I enjoy. read more

The manager here is really condescending. Had an interview here a while ago and felt like it was more of an interrogation than an interview. Every answer I gave, he contested it with something snarky and it felt like he just wanted to argue with me and make me feel dumb.. it was just a very weird interaction overall and could be indicative of how he treats his employees. read more

I waited a year to write this review because I wanted to give them a chance to improve, but unfortunately the service has just gotten worse at the pharmacy :( I've been using the same coupon for a medication for the last year. Every time I go to the pharmacy to pick up the prescription, the pharmacy tech has no idea what the coupon is or how to use it. Every time, I have to ask them for the pharmacist to assist. It takes at least 30 minutes for them to finally figure out how to apply the coupon every time and that's if they even get it to work while I'm there. Multiple times they've asked me to leave and come back because they've been unable to figure it out. read more

I switched to this pharmacy because I had too many issues with the one that was down the road on rose. It was fine until they closed the other one and acquired that staff. Now I have had constant problems again with my medications. Recently I have been told so many excuses on why I can't get my prescription filled. First? "Invalid rx number", which I had to explain that it's not possible to refer to an old rx number as every month is a new prescription and therefore a new number. Such is the case with all controlled substances. They told me I had to call my doctor, so I had to get them to pull up the physical prescription and they then told me they didn't know if they had enough in stock. I told them that was fine, it's also entirely different than flagging my prescription invalid. They then flagged it as "reviewing insurance". They told me it was early, I told them that I didn't need to have it immediately. I had it set to fill on a day that was due. Flagged again. And again I asked why. Was told it was not covered by insurance and they also withheld a prescription that was supposed to be ready for pickup on top of it. Then I was explained the process of ordering if out. They only get shipments once a week. This process was started about a week prior to this conversation. I spoke with them on Saturday and they told me 2-3 days to process, but they were closed for holiday so Tuesday or Wednesday. Benefit of doubt given, I waited until Wednesday. Lo and behold? Another excuse. This time the pharmacist and the pharmacy manager has an issue with "multiple controlled substances from multiple doctors" suddenly. The meds I am on have been consistent for months and I have filled all of these meds with Walgreens many times, but now that they don't have any other excuses? They pull it out. Issue being.... The meds they are withholding that are controlled are psychiatric, prescribed by a psychiatrist. The other (I have 2 meds that are controlled and I only have regular medications from 2 doctors) is via pain management, for pain, and I have been on them for a long time now. Both doctors are aware because some of the pain management pills can interact with psychiatric options. Ex. I take lyrica, so taking Neurontin might be a bad idea. I have changed psychiatrists because they didn't care enough to pay attention to this fact. Yet here I am, again having issues.... Because apparently someone named hetty or heddy or whatever? Wants to hold my prescriptions hostage for whatever weird power trip they have. Never had an issue until rose location closed, now all I have is problems. I can't help but assume it's due to the absorption of the employees and some weird choice to discriminate against me as they did at the last place (on rose, the old Walgreens that closed) and I can't help but assume it is due to my insurance and my not allowing them to lie to me over and over with many different stories. Now that I have started this process nearly 2 weeks ago, I waited until the last of the probable days given to me 5 days ago just to be told that I now have to wait until they clarify that it is ok to release unrelated controlled substances from 2 different doctors because it is at their (pharmacist, not doctors) discretion whether they deny or fill a prescription while not giving me an appropriate update? I'm tired of this fight. You make it so hard to stay mentally well while trying to be physically ok enough to survive. I do not understand why I cannot just ask to fill my prescriptions and get a timeframe of availability instead of having to fight every single month, but here I am.... Still trying to get a medication I have had to fight you to even look at all for you to "use your discretion" as an obvious retaliatory measure to calling you out with multiple staff members. So here I am, calling you out publicly instead. I hope you are happy. Don't worry, I have already sent this to 2 different areas in customer service because I am tired of fighting you and the myriad of lies you tell me to keep you from filling my prescriptions. And I am looking into yet another switch to a competent pharmacy under a different corporation because clearly Walgreens does not know how to do the job I require of them, filling my prescriptions in a timely manner. read more

The drive thru takes insanely long every visit and half the time they don't have the prescription ready even though I am told to come pick it up. I wanted to let corporate know that one of your employees named Casandra at the 191 east Yorba Linda blvd, Placentia California went above and beyond. I was in the drive through to pick a prescription on the to the beach with my two kids. My son was super thirsty so ran in with my debit card to get a few beverages and snacks and my card didn't work. Bless her heart she paid for the 10 dollar total with her own Apple Pay. Poor customer service. I requested a refill for my medication 1 week ago 6 business days. Continued excuse give by their staff was the Doctor has not responded to our request. I telephoned my doctor's office and was told it has been faxed over twice. I called the pharmacy and was told no fax received. This ocurred twice additional times when I decided time to leave. Switched all my Rx's to CVS yesterday on Imperial. Today I receive a text informing me my prescription is ready to be picked up. Other than Eun the pharmacist who is wonderful rest of staff has piss poor demeanor. C'mon Walgreens clean up this store! read more

The pharmacist told me that they just got the prescription however it was send by the doctor more than an hour prior. So they were untruthful and I told him that the prescription was send more than an hour ago. In addition, we were told to come back in 3 hours so I replied that my daughter is sick and she need the prescription urgently. They didn't care and she said that half an hour is the soonest they can do despite we offered that we can wait for the prescription. Came here for a COVID-19 test which I made an appointment online for. Came about 30 minutes early just in case and pulled up to the drive thru as the email directed. Only one customer ahead of me so wait wasn't too long: upon pulling up to the window, they looked up my appointment info and prepped all the testing supplies. Everything was handed through the drive thru drawer so zero contact. The staff member explained the procedure thoroughly and guided me through the nasal swab. Everything was easy and staff was friendly and courteous. read more

I'm pretty upset. I had a photo printed at 16x20 size. When my photo turned out blurry and horrible quality, the worker didn't offer to do anything about it. I know it wasn't a blurry picture. It was taken with a DSLR camera and very good quality. I'd be happy to show the digital copy. Then when I got home and looked at my small photos, one of them was completely cut off. After a confusing and long-winded fiasco at a nearby CVS, I've been coming to this Walgreens instead. Parking isn't too bad. It can get a little cramped, but people leave pretty quickly, so you should find a parking space without too much of an issue. Everytime hubby and I have walked in, we've always had a friendly greeting from the staff. Have not had any issues with needing any help or finding specific products: their staff has been very helpful and they know when something particularly popular has or has not been in stock. Pharmacy has been pretty great, which I'm very thankful of since hubby and I primarily come to this Walgreens for our prescriptions. Even with new prescriptions, if you decide to wait, it's around a 30-minute to 45-minute wait. Of course, this can vary depending on how busy they really are. They also have a prescription subscription you can do to possibly get a lower-price for your prescriptions. It's not an insurance in any way, but it's helped us NOT pay an additional $110 for our pup's meds. Overall, very pleased with the service here! read more

If I could rate this store zero stars, I would. I went in to pick up a fed-ex package. I waited at least 10 minutes before anyone came to the counter. When an associate finally came, she walked up slowly as if in no hurry. She asked for my ID. I asked if she needed me to take it out of my wallet, she said yes. She just looked at it. She could have done that with it still in my wallet. She got the package and matched my ID with the name on the package. She then asked me if I had a tracking number. I said it is on my phone in my car. She insisted I go get it, so I did. Even after I showed her the email she still did not continue. Good grief, I only had to pick up a package. The whole thing should have taken less than 2 minutes! At this point, the whole thing had taken over 15 minutes! When I obviously acted annoyed, she said to me, "you obviously are having a bad day." So rude! You never treat customers that way. I will never go to that location ever again! read more

DO NOT SEND YOUR PHOTOS HERE This has unacceptable service for photos. I just received a call that my 1 hour canvas order will not be ready today. It was projected to be ready in 2 hours, twice as long as advertised. Other locations (such as the Brookhurst location in Anaheim), operate seamlessly and within the advertised time frame. This is at lease the 3rd time i've had this happen at this location.The regular inefficiency of the staff at this location is utterly unacceptable and I always regret sending my photos here. read more

I have a prescription for a controlled substance. For some reason a lot of pharmacies don't like filling them, so I'm used to a little bit of hassle, but I've never had a pharmacy straight up refuse my business before. I'm normally okay with waiting for a bit to get my prescription, so when they said they didn't have any in stock I asked if I could just leave my prescription and pick it up when they do have it in stock. First, the pharmacist (a quite young looking Asian man) criticized my prescription and told me that "nobody" is prescribed my dose, which is truly rude to both me and my doctor, as well as unnecessary and unprofessional. I don't understand why he felt that he knew more about my health and my needs in ten seconds than a doctor who has been treating me for years. Then he told me no, I can't leave my prescription and pick it up when they have my medication is stock, and I'm better off going somewhere else to get it. Well, he was right. I had it filled at the CVS across the street without any issue, and by a much friendlier staff. So thanks for the tip I suppose. I normally don't write negative reviews, but I was very offended by this behavior and I'd prefer not to give my business to anyone who makes me feel belittled and uncomfortable. read more

From reading reviews, it seems as everyone has an issue with their pharmacy. I have not received a prescription from them, but I did go in tonight to ask the pharmacist about a decongestant. I asked on which she believed was best. She gave me a lot of options and explained which would help. In addition she didn't force the name brand on me in which I could get the Walgreens brand. In addition to the pharmacy all the cashiers at front have been very nice. Parking can be a little busy at times, but nothing to hectic. I would suggest they make sure they refill their ads. Photo department is horrible here to start quality of the photos never come out good I should have learned my lesson and not ordered my Christmas photos thru them but I went ahead and did that and I got an email saying that my order was ready to be picked up I got to the store and they had no photos for me they said that the order actually have been canceled and they couldn't print that type of photo at their location very confusing considering I got an email saying that my pictures are ready to be picked up guess I won't have Christmas cards this year such a bummer I would definitely recommend going somewhere else for your photo needs :( read more

This is a great store. Everyone is really friendly and helpful. I have not had a problem in the pharmacy, we've been coming here for years and years. There may be one tech in the pharmacy who isn't quite as overtly friendly as the rest of the crew, but that person has never been less than professional. She just stands out because everyone else at this store treats you like a VIP, and she simply processes the transaction efficiently. At least that's my experience. They always have things on clearance that are fun to browse through, and an outstanding selection of anything I might need, truly. The prices are reasonable and their sales are fantastic. I have brought my kids in to grab a cold drink while I pick things up... the employees are very kind to them as well. Granted my kids are very well behaved, but even my kids are treated with respect and a friendly, helpful attitude. That's just awesome, truly. I started coming here for convenience, and ended up making it an actual destination. An excellent store. And, if you get all your prescriptions there, the points for their rewards club add up quickly. There is NO GIMMICK to this reward system they have... over the years, I accrued enough points to get $50 in free merchandise a couple weeks ago, with no trouble at checkout redeeming the points. I walked out with $65 in electronics for which I paid only $15. It was seriously cool. ;) read more
