I get most of my prescriptions from another pharmacy chain, but my girlfriend gets all of her prescriptions filled at this CVS and I will often go pick them up for her. This is a pretty busy pharmacy and there is usually a line to pick up prescriptions. Luckily, if you use their app to manage your prescriptions, there is an express line for app users. Show the staff member your bar code in the app, and they quickly grab your prescription and you can skip the line. She has a lot of prescriptions so I am here frequently, and it is always nice to see the same friendly faces. They are also fast to fill prescriptions that you call in and say you need urgently. This CVS also has the biggest greeting card section in the area. They have three full aisles of greeting cards for every occasion. If I am at the grocery store and can't find a good card, I know I can always drive a few blocks to this CVS and find one. They also have two self-checkout stations which is convenient where there is a line for regular check-out. read more

I like this CVS Pharmacy, friendly staff, and efficient service. I really like their MOBILE APP for rx pick-up wHICH APPARENTLY not a lot of people know yet! (Especially the Karen's!) I'm telling you guys, it's a time saver! Last time I went to pick-up my Rx a Karen made a fuss about me getting my scripts rather quick on a separate register - thank goodness the pharmacist or tech stepped in promptly and asked her if she has the app, the sign above the separate register also says "Mobile Pick-Up", OBVIOUSLY she doesn't have the app and which promptly shut her pie hole. (Karen's are such suckers for punishment and embarrassment) PSA: Consider downloading the CVS app, all you need is the barcode from the app to be scanned for a quick in and out, we all know this location gets pretty darn busy and the Pharmacy rx pick-up line does get LONG! The Mobile app is an absolute time saver! You're welcome! Anyway, back to the entitled Karen: Use your brain once in a while so It doesn't get stale. This place has the worst employees, all these people should go over the rules of customer service. I was at self check out today buying 1 thing and had the rudest most racist worker hovering over me like I was stealing. When I asked him to back away from me he started telling me stuff and being super unprofessional. The other worker didn't even apologize or push him away from arguing with me. She never looked at me, asked if I needed something when she finished placing 6 bottles. At the register, the $20 CASH BACK coupon discount was declined because my purchase was $4 below minimum. I forgot a dental hygiene item and looked for a local drugstore. CVS was less than 1 mile away from my current location and was selected. The store looked well stocked and you couldn't see workers until you checked out. Variety of items, including non-brand were available. The check-out was stictly using the self-checkout. Touch screen commands were easy and plastic bags were assessed a fee if you needed one. I was able to handle my items without a bag. Prices were very good at this location. read more

I decided to stop by CVS to buy some vitamins for my parents. It turned out there was a $5 discount if you spent $15, as advertised everywhere. I grabbed two bottles and headed to the checkout. When I was paying, I noticed the discount wasn't applied, so I asked the cashier, Brandon, about it. He replied condescendingly that the items weren't on sale. I didn't have time to argue and was ready to pay the full amount, but then he decided to check if there really was a discount. After waiting, he started yelling from a few feet away: "There is no discount, just $5 off." Isn't that the same thing? Yet, I still ended up paying the full amount ‍. I've been a 10+ year customer at the particular location, and the service over the last 6 months has become ridiculous. I just stopped in today on my lunch break to pick up a prescription refill. The website states they are closed from 1:30-2pm. I showed up at 12:30 and was turned away. In addition, over the past few months, when they ARE open, the line is halfway through the store. As you get closer, you realize that the cashiers, whilst being polite, are having unnecessary conversations with the costumers, while the rest of us in line aren't getting any younger. There's never an apology and no one seems to be interested in fixing this problem. It might be time to find a new pharmacy location. And now I have to roll the dice and keep my fingers crossed that the next time I try to pick up medication, it's 1) open when the posted hours say it will be open, and 2) the line isn't to Guam. read more

The customer service they gave was very bad. For the EPIC Beauty event, I was given a coupon for a free cosmetic or nail item under $5 and CVS refused to honor it. They insisted that the coupon was only for the Epic Cosmetics brand. For which I have two points: 1. I have NEVER seen CVS carry that brand. And when you search on the CVS app or the CVS website, the only thing that pops up relates to food. 2. The coupons says any brand. Even if the items I picked (Burt's Bees Lip Butter and Burts Bees Tinted Lip Balm) there is a way to go about explaining to the customer (although I'm sure it does qualify). I've been to this location a couple of times and had good service but a recent trip has left me agitated. Went to self check out and after I followed the freaken directions and inputted my card the whole machine froze. The first word out of the employee mouth was "you didn't follow directions." And after him saying it a few more times I started to get annoyed because of instead of helping me to fix the problem he just started to accuse me of "not following directions." At this point I just ignore him because he just continues on and on and makes dumb comments about how this isn't like other check out machines and I'm thinking well maybe you should get "other" check out machines because I've never had issues. After reading other reviews it looks like the same guy and is the manager? Like really, is that how customer service is at this location? Blame the customer and maybe not a faulty machine? Horrible. This is one of the worst CVS locations ever, avoid it at all cost. Sucks for me being the closest one but I will have to switch to another pharmacy that won't give me the run around for my pick ups. This wasn't the first time this CVs messed up my order and wasted my time for making multiple trips like people are just sitting around waiting to get their meds. The first incident when I came to pick up my order I was told they didn't have it in stock and to come back the next day, I showed up the next day and another pharmacist said they always had that med in stock and they had it yesterday, too. I was mad but whatever crap happened but this time with a different medication I came in on a Wednesday and was told that my medication wasn't ready and it will be by Thursday after 2pm. I doubted it would be ready by then so I didn't pick it up until Saturday morning but it turned out they ordered the wrong dosage. I heard some CVS's were selling lysol spray, so I came here and sure enough, they had some behind the counter. The lady didn't know the price and after she scanned it, it was $7.99. I really needed it, so I paid $8.69 after tax, and it was for a 12.5 oz can and not even the 19 oz can. I know these products are hard to keep in stock and I'm all for capitalism and the free market system, but this is price gouging at it's worst. I guess I'm the sucker today who was willing to pay. My last 2 experiences at this CVS have been problematic. I was here a few weeks ago picking up a prescription, the pharmacy tech helping me said "you're due for your hepatitis vaccine, do you want to take care of that today?" I informed her that I am up to date for this vaccine and then she called the pharmacist over so I could formally decline it. This experience was off putting because they do not have access to my full medical records, they are simply a pharmacy that gets prescriptions from my doctor. They don't have my immunization records except for the ones that maybe I have gotten there. The way she phrased it of "you're due for this" was misleading and incorrect. If she would have said that to someone else who might not know their vaccination history very well or thinks that CVS actually has access to their medical records they would probably say ok I'll get it today, and then get an inappropriate vaccine. Today I went to pickup another prescription. I got in line and the girl at the front of the pharmacy desk looked at me and then pressed the button to close the gate while I was standing there. I completely understand that the pharmacy has to close for lunch breaks, however I would have appreciated her to say "I'm sorry we're closing for lunch, please come back in 30 minutes" instead of closing the gate leaving me and another customer confused. read more

Worst service from CVS ever experienced. Gone to several locations and worst customer service by Jess and the supervisor (not sure if she was, as she was busy chatting with the front register lady). The only two employees in the front, Jess and the other lady with dark hair were standing at the front cash register only talking with each other. Two other customers in the front of the line they even dismissed them and never greeted or acknowledged other customers. There was another lady at the self check out, clearly struggling and not one of them asked her if she needed help before she left. I should have taken that as my cue to leave but I didn't. At first I tried the self check out but noticed there was no bar code for the Extra Care so I tried asking the other lady but she nonchalantly said it's on the phone and never came over to help. I ended up deciding to go in line instead of the self check out. When it came to my turn, Jess never greeted nor did she acknowledge us but quickly, with a heavy sigh and something she was chewing in her mouth had asked for my phone number. My son gave them my number and when he asked a question, she dismissed him. I'm signed up with Extra Care deals which alerts me to deals and rewards I've earned thru SMS. After I gave the phone number I asked about the $5 reward to use by Friday. She immediately said I didn't have any and only the 0.49 reward. I showed her the text and she asked for the last five sequence on my Extracare card. After she punched it in, she said she did not have anything. Literally she said she did not have anything. Even when showing her my rewards with the offer thru the Extra Care she did not see anything and stated I would have to contact CVS. When I tried to ask her what was the sequence code, thinking maybe I gave it to her wrong, she just stated "it's the code you gave me just now," without even asking me what it was again so I or her can double check. She didn't even try. Neither of them. This is their "extra care" at this Placentia CVS location they give their customers. At that point I left and didn't purchase what I came in for because of the lack of acknowledgment, sincerity and accountability. I recently had one of the absolute WORST customer service experiences here that I have EVER had ANYWHERE! I recently visited this cvs location for one simple reason--I had to use the restroom. I do not live anywhere in the surrounding area and really had to use a restroom. It was after 10 at night and everything else around was pretty much closed. I walked in and immediately spied an employee, who turned out to be some sort of supervisor due to his name tag. Upon asking if their restroom was open, he immediately sighed and rolled his eyes, half-heartedly and rudely saying, "I'll open it for you." SERIOUSLY?! I have news for this idiot: when you're at work, YOU HAVE TO WORK! Was it really THAT big of a deal to open the restroom for a customer? What effort! Moreover, when we got to the restroom and he opened it, he rolled his eyes a SECOND time. I politely thanked him anyway since I am, you know, A CIVILIZED PERSON, to which, of course, I received no reply from the ape. Then, upon entering, it was an utterly disgusting mess! Filthy, and NEITHER SEAT COVERS NOR TOILET PAPER! I was so disgusted I quickly left without even using it. As I exited, the psychopath had a malicious, knowing smirk on his face, as though he knew exactly what had transpired inside and that it had been his revenge. Disgusting. I wish I had gotten his name off the tag. All I recall is that he was White and probably mid- to late-twenties, average height. Hate to rate a place solely on one employees behavior but this guy happened to be the manager named "Mo". He's an older middle eastern guy who speaks with an accent. His attitude totally sucks. Long story short he raised his voice to a female customer when she tried to explain that the self checkout register wouldn't accept her coupon. I happen to be using the register next to her and the same issue occurred with me and a coupon. The manager actually raised his voice with me and reprimanded me for not using the machine correctly. I have been going here since the 80s, and back in the day when Joseph the Pharmacist had his photo on the wall, it was GREAT. But the last few years in particular it just seems to be falling apart. For the last 6 months in a row they have messed up a prescription that I have that is the same item for 2 different dosages (because the full dosage goes through the roof in price.) I have spoken to the primary pharmacist, the lead evening pharmacist and practically every tech that works there, and still every month it gets messed up. They drop one prescription or the other, they don't, won't can't sync them and every month I have to go through the whole process of changing lines to talk to the intake side of the pharmacy when the pick up side can't work things out. On top of that I have other prescriptions that they don't follow through with and keep the refills on auto, or call the doctor when they lapse. It's an ongoing frustration that I have dealt with over and over again. Today, however, pushed me to the point of finally writing this review. My husband had surgery last week and there appears to be an issue so he went and saw the doctor and they decided he needed to be on two strong antibiotics. I got in line at the drop off and the woman in front of me obviously had some issues at the counter. Oscar (a stellar employee and the only one I don't ever have an issue or problem with, he is top notch,) was trying to deal with the woman at the counter (I think she showed up the wrong day for a COVID vaccine and was raising a stink). It took several minutes, probably at least 10. One male pharmacist walked by and said as he passed "We'll be with you in a minute." I stood and continued to wait. While I waited I heard the head pharmacist (the one whose photo is on the wall) yell at Oscar, "Type this out NEXT! This is next," and she slammed down a paper on the counter near the other computer) I wasn't happy, assuming this meant I would have to wait longer. Another 5 minutes went by and another female pharmacy tech passed by and said "someone will be with you shortly." Oscar is working his ass off, while everyone except the overwhelmed yelling pharmacist seems to be moving slowly around (mind you there were no customers in the pick up line, but now two or three people behind me in the drop off line.) Finally Oscar finishes with the woman in front of me and to my pleasant surprise calls me to the counter rather than going off to whatever the pharmacist told him was the priority. I handed him the two prescriptions and told him him I would be back later in the afternoon to pick it up. He told me I didn't need to wait and they would text me when they were ready. When I hadn't heard anything by 3:50 I called the pharmacy. 15 minutes later someone finally picked up, and I spoke with a woman on the phone who pulled up my husband's records and was told they didn't have any open prescriptions for him. I told her about my morning visit and she put me on hold while she spoke to the pharmacist. She came back and told me that the prescription was on hold because they couldn't confirm the credentials of the doctor who had written the prescription. She told me they had called the doctor but they couldn't get through and didn't get a response back. She confirmed the doctor's phone number which was the same as they had and she told me to hold while she tried to call them. 30 seconds later she came back on the line and told me that she actually could not call the doctor because she had someone on hold on every line they had. She told me I should call myself. Got off the phone, called the dr's office and the line was answered directly by the doctor's office staff and I explained the situation. She told me no one had called the office nor left any message regarding checking the doctor's credentials. I gave her the pharmacy's phone number and she promised to call and take care of it. An hour later I still hadn't heard anything and my husband still hadn't received the text saying the prescription was in. I called the pharmacy because by now the doctor's office was gone for the day. I was on hold more than 25 minutes before the wonderful Oscar picked up. He recognized my name and knew immediately there had been an issue with confirming my husband's doctor's "credentials" (to prescribe antibiotics mind you, NOT narcotics or anything.) I caught him up and told him that the doctor had called them by this point. He looked and verified that the doctor's office had in fact called in and confirmed everything as needed. Apologetically Oscar asked me if 30 minutes was sufficient to pick up the prescription and I said it would be fine. Within 20 minutes my husband got the text it was ready (because apparently Oscar is the only one with both customer service skills and the ability to actually get anything done.) He was laughing in my face asking me why I needed my prescription! And then told me it was unavailable for me to pick up. He even then started yelling at me telling me " you just want free medicine! "While he stood there and laughed and smiled at my frustration of the problem. I told him how rude and unprofessional he was being and he said to my face. "What? Smiling is being rude now?? " When I was clearly upset about the situation and needed someone Mature enough to handle it. I don't know how you can hire someone with such lack of empathy and professionalism to substitute as a manager here. Your dealing with people's illnesses and it's not something to laugh about. I'm a type one diabetic which is a very serious disease as he should know since he's a pharmacist! I will never come back to this cvs. I've had so many problems here with my insurance and cvs filling my prescription. MAHMUD did not handle the situation professionally at all. They are open 24 hours a day which is the plus. Their stock of items is marginal so you get what you are looking for 4 out of 5 times. Waits in line can get long since other have mentioned that they are under staffed at times. Overall a good CVS to hit up at all hours of the day if you need something they got. read more
