I needed change for the water machine in front of CVS, I politely asked for 10 quarters and five dimes. I was surprised to hear the cashier say I can't give out change on Sundays. I was shocked and asked if I could speak to a manager, after all I was using the coins on their machine. The clear had to call the manager twice, after a while she gets a phone call. it was from the manager, he also NO. I guess CVS has no interest in customer service. Obviously the manager has no interest in the customer. There is a simple solution, just make sure the store has enough change from the bank. I will no go to other stores, I'm done with CVS read more

The pharmacy has improved a lot lately. Now, when they say a prescription is ready, it really is! The staff seem more respectful of the customers' needs and preferences than in the past. When I asked them to have my prescription ready within an hour of calling for a refill, the pharmacist immediately agreed, and it was ready when I arrived. That would not have happened a year ago. I find the staff's attitude to be consistently helpful and professional even when treated rudely, something I've seen there too often. To call this place a cluster would be an understatement. I called ahead, was told my prescriptions were ready, showed up at a non-busy time where only two people were ahead of me, yet it took 30 minutes for them to check me in, find my 2 prescriptions and check me out. Between asking me my name twice after misspelling it and having to enter it in their computer yet again, spending 10 minutes searching for my prescription (tip: this is not your first rodeo CVS, figure out how to organize/file your prescriptions) and taking me through the myriad of signatures and payment process steps. I'm not even sure how this store still in business. The people that work in the pharmacy are mostly pleasant. but when you go to try to call you sit on hold for 45 minutes. Then they pick up and say please hold and your back on hold. Totally disorganized and don't seem to care that they aren't doing a good job. Went in last Saturday to pick up one prescription and asked about another one I'd been waiting 5 days for. They told me they would have it for me Monday. I went to another CVS and they had it in stock, but they couldn't fill because they had to cancel the order at the other branch first. They were on hold for an hour before they gave up - the other branch never answered the phone. The prescription was on hold all week and because I know they're not answering the phone I went in to the store to see about it. They had it but only 2 pills - I guess they filled someone else's prescription. They again told me they would get more on Monday. WTF. I don't know how people can feel good about doing a crap job at work, and even though they seem short staffed, to me it doesn't excuse the fact that they didn't fill my prescription even when they had the stock. Although usually pretty packed up & the line can be extremely long, I have absolutely grown to love this CVS pharmacy especially because of "SUZY" the pharmacist that is super sweet, considerate, helpful, compassionate & is just one of those people that will bring sunshine into your gloomy days & a smile on your face. She is always so personable & in a good mood regardless of how chaotic & busy they are. The staff is great as well. Due to understaffing and poor scheduling, I stopped using this store. Because I would be at a business next door today, I took a chance and scheduled my flu shot at this store. I arrived during the lunch hour to the usual long lines and no help. As I got to the window, I saw a sign directing those getting a flu shot to go to the pickup window. I went to the pickup window where another sign directed me to the consultation window. I waited in line while one staff member tried to wait on customers and the one pharmacist tried to handle the consultation window, check-in a supply of pharmaceuticals, answer the phone (she actually never answered the phone and the speaker kept adding pharmacy calls to the announcement), and fill orders. No orders were filled and no calls were answered. When I reached the consultation window, I explained that I had booked an online appointment for the extra strength flu shot. I was told that my appointment couldn't be located, this in spite of the e-mail I had confirming the appointment. I was told that online appointments frequently didn't reach the store. Finally, after all this, I was told they didn't have any extra strength flu shots and I would have to come back some other time. Unbelievable!!! read more

They are always so understaffed and busy, they never have a prescription filled until you show up, then they tell you it will be ready in 20 minutes. Today my 20 minutes took over an hour. Well lets just say that the employees at the CVS on McDowell are much to be desired. The are a tired bunch whom can barely squeeze a smile. My recent encounter was extremely upsetting I was standing in line and an employee was standing behind me awaiting her check out. When I asked the cashier if I could use my EXTRA BUCKS for my $4.95 purchase he said yes. He rang me up but no change was given i asked about the change and he said no, no change. This surprised me but what surprised me the most was the cackle I received from the employee standing next to me!! How rude to laugh at a customer!!! Well it's pouring rain, I'm soaking wet, and I just got back from the doctor with a bronchitis diagnosis. It took me 15 min just to drop off a prescription (which is ridiculous) and told it would be ready in another 30. I come back to find out that they are out of my prescription, and have known this since 10am. I received no apology, and had to push to make them find someone who had what I needed. I have never liked CVS but they are a necessity unfortunately. I went there for an emergency refill of medicine, because they lost my shipment in the mail and I was going in for surgery. On the first visit to the store I spent 15 minutes talking to the Pharmacist about the lost medicine and explained why I needed it and the Pharmacist said it will be ready in an hour, please come back then. I returned in an hour and found out that not only wasn't my medicine ready, but the people that work at this store are very rude and unpleasant! I was told by the cashier, " Take a seat"! I told the little girl, Gabby, "You mean, would I please like to take a seat?" There's No manager on site, and get this, they didn't know his or her managers name! I am a health care provider and I was on hold for total of 4 hours the other day. Three different occasions, I would be talking to someone and the phone got disconnected. I wasn't' sure if something was wrong with their phone line. I would call them back then as soon as someone picks it up they say "we have # of phone calls in front of you." without listening to a word you say, which wasn't very nice but this is probably because they can't get work done if they don't do it that way. This is not to blame the people who work there because they seem to be nice and helpful for the most part. This place needs more staff or change the workflow. Now I am hesitant to ever use this pharmacy for my patients since I can't get a hold of anyone in a timely manner if there are issues. read more

The pharmacy at this location is by far the WORST pharmacy ever. The only reason we used it more than once was because the pricing was reasonable for our prescriptions. But we always call in our prescriptions ahead of time and EVERY time we go to get them, they have no record of it and no idea what we are talking about. I don't know which girl it is but one of them has no people skills at all, rude and not helpful at all. We just changed our pharmacy and are going to end up paying about $50-60 more at this new pharmacy but worth every penny to deal with professional people who are friendly and know what they are doing. Outrageous lack of quality in the Pharmacy. I am done with them. Issued me controlled narcotics (my wife's prescription) with another person's name & address on it. Actually looked up the other person's address with a different name spelling, and added that to our prescription in pencil. This is after giving Wife's DOB 3 x, and her medical card, and being in their system for 2 years. Failed to offer a pharmacy consult, failed to verify identity. When issue raised with them, a shrugged shoulders and a re-do. one person (details provided to CVS corporate) should not be allowed to be so casual in an environment that keeps people alive with their expertise. read more
