If I could give zero stars, I would. A trip to my local CVS is worse than getting a cavity filled without novacaine. It is ALWAYS something, always incredibly frustrating. The long lines, the wasted trips because they tell you your medication is ready but when you go to pick it up "it's not on the shelf even though our system said it was" (happened twice), the computer system that goes down with "no ETA" when it will be fixed, the irritating phone tree and the half hour plus waits on hold before hanging up out of sheer frustration. Medications are too important to be this unreliable! Some of their people are ok. I feel sorry for them all. Because if CVS treats their longtime (30+ yrs) customers like this, I can't imagine how they treat their employees. Just a horrible place to do business with. I'm done. read more

I wish I could give them 0 stars. The CVS on east Washington is horrible. I used to go there all the time to pick up birth control which I take for my extremely painful cramps but the last few times the pharmacist REFUSED to give them to me. When I talked to my doctor they said they had a year's worth of refills and didn't understand why they wouldn't give me my prescription. Do NOT go here to pick up prescriptions because they will make it a huge hassle. Very disappointed because for the last 10 years this has not been a problem. Not only did my physician come into the pharmacy to get the needed antibiotic for me, but the staff closed their door to him. This pharmacy is the most dismal excuse for a pharmacy. It should be shut down for horrible service and care. Do not darken the door of this establishment. Merely, choose another pharmacy immediately. My suggestion in Petaluma is not to use any of the pharmacies and go out of town. I am a 4th generation Petaluma and my advice is never use a CVS in our town. Pharmacy staff was amazing! I was out of town and trying to get my prescription filled so that I'd have my medication when I got home. Another pharmacy had let me down and so I called these guys. They called my other pharmacy and spent a bunch of time on the phone with me getting all my insurance information, etc. etc. Super friendly and got it done for me in the nick of time so I was able to pick it up and not miss a day of my meds. I ended up going to the McDowell location on accident, not realizing that I had called the Washington location. Staff there was great and they just transferred it over and hooked me up. Not sure what all the bad reviews are about, but I just know that the staff is amazing. read more

I now understand that their job is challenging, and I shouldn't burden them with requests like ringing up someone's cat food and depends while picking up their prescription. if you have problems with the length of time, it takes to get your prescription filled take ownership of your own healthcare and your own prescription plan that would save them a lot of time on top of that. Don't make them ring up your other items, be polite. These people have doctorate in pharmacy and their job main job is to fill your prescription so that's what they want to do. They don't want to not fill your prescription. I also want to give acknowledgment to two of the best pharmacists that have ever worked on giving me immunizations. The lead Pharmacy tech, she is kind and the whole team knuckles down and some stay late to get work done. I want to express my gratitude to Joe, the staff pharmacist, and Anusa, the manager, for their exceptional treatment. CVS generally deserves three stars but this one's a solid one star because of their crappy bathroom, literally. I had a nice discussion with an employee who I believe was the manager regarding the fact that this bathroom has looked like this for over a week because they don't want to clean it because it'll get dirty again. Look, I wouldn't want to clean it either, but if you're not going to clean it, just put a sign that it's out of service or something. Corporate needs to send proper PPE (personal protective equipment) and cleaning supplies to this store so they can clean the bathroom. Or, if they already have that stuff, they need to reinforce whatever policy they have to clean it regularly. Anyway, the other thing I don't like about CVS is the prices are generally higher than the competition. I prefer Walmart or Target over CVS for sure. I waited in line for over 10 minutes while the clerk waited for the very slow manager to give him cash. The self serve only take cards, and one was not working. When it was finally my turn, I paid in cash; when I got my change, I felt like I had been overcharged. Turns out the price on the tag on one of my items was wrong. When I told the clerk--who I also think is the manager-what the listed price was, he told me I was wrong. I will not be shopping here again. Use Target instead. Prices are better read more

I unfortunately can not even rate their service. Got there today asked someone to assist with getting an item out for me as it was locked in a glass case. I was told that they will look for the keys as it was misplaced. When going back to the counter the two men where still having a fat conversation. Only after me showing my disappointment did the young man start looking for the key but said that if I do not like their service, I should go to the other CVS on the other side of town. I'm guessing that most drug store reviews are based on interaction at the pharmacy counter. And when there's a long line, even with full staff, it's going to take awhile. That's why when I find someone who is pleasant, efficient and interacts well with customers, those are qualities worth recognizing. If you are lucky, Charisma will take care of you. shouldn't even call themselves a pharmacy. so I live in Petaluma and have been picking up my meds at Walgreens on cotati for years. thought I'd make it easier by moving meds I have been on for years here. wrong. they filled it once and then consistently lied to me about being out of stock. there was never an offer to wait till they got more no it was just transfer this to another store. when I called on different days I got different lies. sometimes out of stock sometimes they just needed to talk to my doctor. this place is negligent and discriminatpry. read more

My visits to this CVS have been uniformly bad, as I constantly encounter poor customer service. Recently, it was the drama of the lost photos. When I went to the store to pick up a photo order, they could not find it, and upon further investigation, I was told that the night crew had inadvertently canceled the order. I reordered and agreed to return the following day. That day, I received a text stating the photos were ready. When I arrived at the store, I was told that the photos were lost and the machine they used to print them was in disrepair. I insisted that they search, and after about 10 minutes, they found the photos lying on a table in the back. I was then quoted the wrong price and handed the photos without envelopes (some were greeting cards). This whole experience was permeated with indifference, and no one apologized for the multiple hassles or seemed embarrassed by the comic ineptitude. read more

Insanely slow service, and they are unable or unwilling to use good sense. They don't bother to let the doctor or the patient know they don't carry medicine that is needed immediately, so you waste time only to find out you and the doctor have to find an alternative they do have on hand. My entire family has been a loyal pharmacy customer here since it was Longs. I'm never going back after what I just went through. It's sad. Good people still work there. But the basic job of a pharmacy - getting patients the medications that their doctors have determined they need - is NOT happening there. Here's my saga. My doctor sent in a refill on a Thursday for a daily medication that's been refilled by this branch for years. The pharmacist tells me it's out of stock but is expected in the following Tuesday. Tuesday comes and goes with no word, so I call again. Now he's pretty sure the medication will arrive no later than Friday, but says he's placing a special order to speed the process. Friday comes and goes with no word on my refill, so I call again Saturday (mind you, "calling them" is an elaborate process of going through a long telephone menu then leaving a vm and waiting for a call back). This time I'm told by a different pharmacist that he's sure the medication will be arriving any moment because their supplier has it in stock, and he was just working at a Novato CVS and they had gotten their delivery from the supplier. BUT he adds that he'll place a special order for me to speed up the delivery. I said, "I was told a special order was already placed a few days ago. Isn't there an existing order?" He hems and haws a bit and says he's placing "another one" just to make sure. Hmm, okay. Monday comes and goes, then Tuesday, so I finally call Wednesday morning to see if my medication is restocked and if my rx is being filled. But this time no one calls me back. So I call again in the late afternoon, and no one calls back. So I finally go in to the store around 6pm just to find out what's going on. A "consultation" employee I've never seen before asks for my name and birthdate, then looks up my account and tells me the last record they have of this medication being filled for me was May 2024. I say that's incorrect, because it was filled in June and July and I've been waiting for a refill placed in August. She tells me their records show nothing since May. At this point, I'm getting irritated that I'm having to explain to someone that, regardless of whatever she's looking at, this rx has been refilled monthly at this location for years. I show her the CVS text on my phone that says my refill order does in fact exist and is marked "backordered." She asks the pharmacist to help me, then walks away. The pharmacist, whom I've never seen before, looks at the screen and calls me by a name that's not mine. After we clear up my identity, she tells me...drum roll...that the medication is out of stock and it's been ordered and they're just waiting for it to be delivered. I say, "Yes, I'm aware, but at this point it's been 2 weeks that I've been out of my daily medication and I just keep getting told it will be coming in any day. Can you please look at other CVS branches to see if it's in stock elsewhere?" She types for about 10 seconds and says "They've got it in stock at the Target branch." The Target branch that is walking distance down the road. I'm floored. I ask her to put all refill orders she has for me on hold (my doctor had sent in three different refill requests over the two weeks to try to work around the out-of-stock issue) so that my doctor can send the rx to the Target location without it getting denied by insurance as a duplicate. She types for a few seconds and says, "Okay, I just put everything on hold." The next morning my doctor sends in a refill rx to Target CVS, but it gets denied as a duplicate because the pharmacist at East Washington DID NOT put all three refill orders on hold - she only put one on hold. So, now I'm again placing phone calls and waiting for call backs from both East Washington and Target. The Target pharmacist calls me back first, quickly corrects the problem by cancelling the conflicting East Washington orders, and fills my refill. For two weeks, TWO WEEKS, the pharmacists at East Washington were fine with me not having my prescribed daily medication, and fine with telling me "should be here any moment now," and fine with just leaving me to call back over and over to find out what the status was. AT NO POINT DID ANY PHARMACIST THERE CARE ENOUGH ABOUT A PATIENT GETTING THEIR MEDICATIONS TO TAKE 10 SECONDS TO CHECK WHAT OTHER NEARBY CVS HAD STOCK SO THAT MY DOCTOR COULD SEND THE REFILL TO THAT STORE. This medication is not one that a patient can call up a random pharmacy to ask if they have it in stock - the pharmacy won't tell you; they'll only tell a doctor. So patients are literally in the hands of pharmacists to locate another source within their corporate network, because no busy doctor is going to sit down for 30 minutes calling pharmacies throughout Sonoma County to ask "Hey, do you have this in stock? I'd like to prescribe it to a patient." read more

It's a good pharmacy but nothing special & the main office has no clue as to what the local branches are doing. It tends to be a little more expensive than your local supermarket. As with other pharmacies, it also has hairspray, some groceries, etc. read more

It would be super cool if you took down the 6+ "24 hour" signs you have plastered all over the front of your store. That way people wouldn't drive from all over to go to the only 24-hour drugstore in the area, only to find out that it's closed. When I pulled up, I saw an elderly man walk to the entrance and he was clearly confused as to why it was closed when everything on the doors and outside said it was supposed to be open. Fwiw, I even checked the CVS website before I left to make sure it was open, and even there it said "24 hours." Really garbage that you won't change the hours anywhere, which causes people to waste their time, energy, and gas. Fix it!!! read more

Got here at 9:50pm and doors were locked. Knocked and the employees came out and said they close at 10pm now and one got in her car and left at after a few minutes. Both were very unapologetic. There were at least 4 signs that said "open 24 hours". We were frustrated because if they do close at 10pm, they need to have SOME sort of signage to express that. And if they close at 10, they need to close AT 10, not 10-15 minutes before. We sat in the car afterward for about 20 mins after and saw 8 other cars pull up and leave disappointed. read more

I was just at this store. When I was waiting in line, there was only one clerk, however another person came to ring me up. When she asked her coworker "Dylan" what was going on with the products at her counter, he said someone had gone out to the car to get something. He then proceeded to tell the clerk to ring up the woman who came back in even though I was at the register and she hasn't been in the store for several minutes. I think Dylan could see that I was upset. He finished his customer and left the register to help two other customers at the self serve counters even though they came after I was in line. He then proceeded to help another customer get something out of a locked case in cosmetics. Again, that customer came after I had been waiting in line. The second clerk became available and was very courteous and apologized for my having to wait. I didn't make a scene, though I was tempted to walk up to Dylan to let him know how poor his customer service was. I didn't do anything to warrant his ignoring me and helping 3 other customers plus bumping me out of line for another. I'm going to make sure I talk with someone at this CVS location about this. No, I'm not one of those complainers. I've been in customer service for 30+ years. I have never treated anyone like this. My doctor called in a prescription here and I never heard from them days later so I called and they said oh yes it's here and ready. I went to pick it up at 1:15pm and Clarissa sees I have a good RX coupon and with out even looking me up or seeing what I am there to pick up tells me that she can't help me because it will take 20 minutes to process the Good RX coupon. I tell her that we were on our way out of town and she look me up and grabs the prescription which is $140 with no coupon and tell me to pay that price or come back later after the lunch because every was leaving. I asked for her to just process it as we were leaving town and she said nope and took back the prescription and said she was going to lunch. She then starts to help other people in line. I arrived at the store 10 minutes later at 8:02 PM. I was told the prescription was ready but I couldn't pick it up till tomorrow. It's obvious that the pharmacy is the store but I guess your legal has stunk up your entire operation. I'm a 25 year customer and am finally jumping ship. This location is incredibly poor. Newest pharmacist can be quite rude, talking over you while trying to explain the situation. The most helpful people have since retired and newbies are clueless about customer concerns. They constantly refer you to the app which is poorly designed. I will take my Rxs elsewhere as this has become an incredibly aggravating place to fill one's prescriptions. This should be on the list of stores corporate is closing. read more

I read so many of the posted reviews here and I am truly flabbergasted that this location is still open for business. I only use cvs for emergencies, if I need to pick up a rx the same day. Otherwise I use Community Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy. They deliver my meds directly to me via FEDEX next day to me if I need them that soon. It's CVSs like this one - that remind me - why I adore this store (though that being said, I never knew this place as Longs, and actually have yet to go to a Longs). On our way to Dillon Beach this weekend - we decided to stock up on camera film - and batteries. We discovered this CVS along the way and were truly awe struck by their massive selection of pretty much everything. And when I say everything - I mean EVERYTHING. From healthy green plants outside, to a whole inner-store aisle dedicated to emergency items (my mom has been nagging me to start an earthquake kit for awhile now), to an art aisle, to a clothing aisle, to a food aisle, to a random work-out aisle, and everything else you could speculate about potentially buying - this CVS has your back. And the fact that this location is open 24 hours, including their pharmacy, is huge. Petaluma CVS is What's Up. Trust. read more

This drugstore is now a CVS Pharmacy! Located in the same plaza where I had my lunch, this drugstore is open 24-hours. With a huge selections of just about everything, it is one of the bigger drugstores I've ever been too. Even bigger than most supermarkets. As you enter on the left are the photo center, a fully-stock grocery-section with a huge assortment of items, dairy and frozen, and a huge selection of Wine and liquor. The wine selection is really lame. Imagine bringing crappy wine on a "Hot" date! There is also a Chase (formerly WaMu) ATM-machine on the same side. No fee is charge for the usage if you have an account with the institution. The center is the 24-hour pharmacy with pharmacist always alert on people's need(s). And the center through the right are the remaining drugstore with your health and beauty need(s). There are two special aisles with Halloween items. "Isn't that scary that Halloween is coming up?" I was only here to grab some last-minute travel-size items for my upcoming trip. Located on the right of the store with the rest of the health and beauty needs (like "beauty" ever exist in my Porky Pig-look), the single fully-stock aisle has a huge selection of travel-sized items that I need for my trip. Checking out was fast and efficient with the young and energetic cashier/staffs. read more

This is the worst pharmacy I have ever been to. I waited in line 20 minutes both times just to get to the counter. They have incompetent people working there. Nobody cares. Pharmacy staff rude and don't follow up on their commitments for timely refills. I always place my prescriptions on auto refill. About half the time I have to call them because I am almost out of my medication. Their response is I should have placed it on auto refill. When I say that I have, they say it doesn't show on their system. Or if the prescription has expired, they don't call my Dr for a new one. read more

I agree with others here that the management at CVS sucks. But the employees always seem to try their best to serve me well. And they are always friendly as well. Today at I had an interaction with Laura at the pharmacy and she was very helpful as usual. She went out of her way to make sure I found what I needed and get it at the best price too. So kudos to the employees in spite of the poor management that keeps them so understaffed. I'm sure that's why they're closed so often in the middle of the night it's because management hasn't gotten anyone in there. read more
