I have never felt any kind of pressure or discomfort here as a customer. The service here is top notch: the staff knows everyone by first name, they're incredibly courteous and conscientious, and if they can't fill a prescription for you they will work diligently to find a pharmacy close by who can. They also understand that insurance can be tricky and the cost of maintaining health in America presents its own challenges, so while they can't dictate the cost of medications, they try to make it as easy and as painfree as humanly possible to get what you need. They also have a solid selection of other things you might need in a pinch and are super knowledgeable about the pros and cons between different brands / products. Not to mention they also have little things like a section dedicated to the community featuring books from local authors. I respect that a lot. When people talk about the benefits of choosing smaller local businesses over bigger companies, I immediately think of places like this little pharmacy. My experience here is that they really care about their backyard and those of us who live here.

The attitude of every single employee in the pharmacy department was absolutely disgusting. THIS pharmacy has beyond exceeded my expectations. They filled my prescription within minutes of my doctor calling it in. I had so many issues with CVS and I lost part of my prescription while on vacation, therefore I could not get it done on time but they did an override after speaking with my doctor. . I spoke to the staff pharmacist Brenda Ballantine and she was condescending, unhelpful, and yelled details of my prescription and costs from the back of the pharmacy over 10 feet away. There was another customer and a pharmacist nearby who could hear the whole conversation. This is in violation of HIPAA privacy laws which she must have been aware of. I ended up paying full price for my prescription because it was easier and faster than dealing with her and I didn't want to have this conversation with so many people listening. After I got home I spoke to a friend about the experience and they said that she had done the same thing to them. I can only hope the pharmacy manager reads this and speaks to her about following proper pharmacy procedures and keeping patient information private.

Today I stopped in to Giant Pharmacy for a flu shot. They were not at all nice about it, and that surprised me, because I've gotten prescriptions filled there in the past and they are usually competent and courteous. I ended up waiting about 40 minutes for the shot and I felt that it was very much a problem for them. So, if you want to get your flu shot at Giant, be sure to go early in the day and hope for the best. They obviously do not have the staff to provide this service, even though they advertise it aggressively. Next year I will get my shot elsewhere or not at all.

They saved the day for my family and our sick cat. I will be forever grateful for the services they provide. They were able to compound her medications into tuna favored liquid that we could squirt in her mouth or the better tasting stuff she just licked up or ate in her food. Our kitty was diagnosed with Lymphoma, the vet prescribed steroids to make her time left comfortable and suggested we get it compounded here. It was more expensive than pills were but I would pay twice what I did to not have to pill her everyday. The medication they compounded added weeks to her terminal diagnosis, and gave her a quality of life that would of been impossible without the medication. If we had not gotten the liquid we would of had to put her to sleep weeks before we did. If you have a pet that takes pills I highly recommend asking your vet if it can be compounded here, it is so worth it for you and your pet, especially if you have a cat. They will explain how to store it and administer it. The medication even came with the little syringe. I wish it was closer to my home so I could use it for my monthly prescriptions.

When I went to pick up my refill, I was told that they was out of the medication. That an order was placed. So they gave me 2 tablets to last me 2 days. So after 2 days, I came back to check on the medication. Still, they were out of the medication. So they gave me 2 more tablets. After two more days, I went back to the pharmacy. Was told that the medication was on back-order. Just ridiculous. And when I voiced my displeasure, the pharmacy personnel looked at me like I was crazy. I mean, this was my HBP medication. I needed it. So this time, they gave me 19 pills, telling me that they should have my medication when this batch is extinguished. So I had to visit the pharmacy 3 times, in order to get a vital med for me. Don't go to this pharmacy. I'm going to check out another pharmacy.
