The lock up basically everything here. I mean I walked here from the Hyatt place around the corner because my daughter's friend forgot a toothbrush. A TOOTHBRUSH! They were all locked up. And there weren't a lot of employees working but I wasn't the only one who needed something to be unlocked. A woman needed body wash and lotion so I had to wait for the associate to help her before I could get my toothbrush since no other associate was available. I mean if you're going to lock everything up, I feel like you should have enough employees to unlock things. read more

i don't typically write reviews and i like to lead with grace but the process of getting a prescription at this pharmacy is diabolical. luckily they have these new check in systems where you don't fact to communicate with the seemingly nice yet rude staff. lots of eye rolling and passive aggression. like i said, i wanna give grace cause they were def on the tail end of their shift. i got a prescription and the other 2 were pending. i asked if i could wait for them and she walked me down to the end and filled them for me. she after put them in a bin and told me to get back in line.... i was perplexed... i asked her why is it not ready and she said you need to go to the back of the line so i can help the next customer. no explanation. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this CVS! I came here for the Minute Clinic to get some vaccines before traveling to Tanzania. I made my appointment just the day before. It was a seamless process. The CVS closest to me used to give vaccines, but, according to the Doc, they no longer do which was why I had to come to this store. When I arrived I was surprised by the Minute Clinic space. It's set up similar to the waiting area in a doctors office. It was clean, bright, and welcoming. There was one other woman waiting and we both assumed the doctor was with somebody. I waited approximately 10 minutes past my scheduled appointment time when she came out with her previous appointment. The woman ahead of me just needed to have her TB test read so she was in & out. Once in the office, everything was explained. The prices for the vaccines were posted on the cabinet. You can schedule regular vaccines (like the flu & COVID), which is what I received. But it is also a Travel Clinic for vaccines needed to travel abroad such as yellow fever, typhoid, etc. I had planned to get a few vaccines, but once I saw the prices..... OUCH! I opted to visit my local VA Hospital where I was able to get them there. She was efficient and my visit wasn't long. Everything she needed was in that space. I was however, surprised that most of the store items were locked behind glass/plexiglass. It was my first time seeing this in a CVS. My only guess is that they've experienced a lot of shoplifting, even though this area didn't seem to fit that description (in my opinion, but I don't live here). I'm down with the Minute Clinic. A drug store is a drug store, right? Not necessarily, some are definitely better than others and this one is one of the better CVS ones that I have found one the Baltimore area. Good pharmacy area that it pretty attentive and quick to help you out. Easy finding of items around the store and located in an area that you can also visit some other spots if you want to hang out down by the Harbot and do some other shopping or sightseeing. The only downside is probably the lack of parking but there are garages around for sure and some places will also validate if you are visiting their stores as well. read more

I came in to buy a Red Bull. The Red Bull and all soda cases were locked. Not a single associate could be found...I was very obnoxious about the fact no one could help me. The incredible security guard came over, found the key and helped me, though I still never saw a stor employee. Sadly I definitely saw people shoplifting during said exchange. read more

I would rate this CVS 3.5 stars if I could. It is a good pharmacy / convenience store, albeit a little fickle. They offer full pharmacy services (including vaccinations) as well as a MinuteClinic. While appointment availability is variable, I typically have been able to get an appointment here within a week (if not within a few days). I came here for a travel consultation for Malaria pills and was able to get an appointment within 2 days. I was worried the pharmacy wouldn't have the pills in stock (because some pharmacies don't carry it), but I was happy to see that I was able to fill my prescription within 10 minutes of the appointment. The MinuteClinic did take a while (my appointment started 20 minutes late) and lasted a long time (1 hour, even though it definitely could have gone faster). This is not a place I would recommend trying to quickly schedule in between meetings if you are on a time crunch, but has worked for me in the past. As other reviewers have noted, the rest of the stock is very hit or miss. I have come here for safety pins or milk in the past, in a pinch, but have not been able to find them in stock. If you're looking for a convenient pharmacy without too much pressure this is a good option, but if you're in desperate need of something, make sure to have a backup plan. read more

They worked with me to try to figure out my complicated insurance information to help me submit my needed medication to be covered by my insurance. the staff has become horribly rude over the past few months. also, everything is your responsibility like, "call around to other cvs near you and see who has it in stock". No kidding, my wife was waiting for an estrogen patch refill that she needed, ( not in stock at exeter st). went over a week without it and had terrible side effects. when she called the clerk on the phone gave my wife a lecture!! as if she should have understood that out of stock only means at their location and that my wife can call around. SO, my wife did call (which she shouldn't have been asked to do or lectured on how she should have known....) so the cvs on pratt street ( less than 6 blocks away) had 15 boxes the entire time... so here i am doing what i never do, complain. I should mention that the rest of the drugstore is all right. It would be more ideal if there was a security personnel at the door and not have every single item (including toothpaste!) locked up. This is the inner harbor. The personnel outside of the pharmacy appear to be helpful and pleasant. The pharmacy individuals are another story. There is a a young, somewhat chunky, female who could do with an attitude readjustment. If a customer simply comes in asking to pick up their prescription, there is no need to glare at them unnecessarily. Clearly she doesn't want the job. So, why not fill the slot with an individual who can do the job that is pleasant to their customers? read more

I went to pick up my medication that helps me breathe. Arrived at 4:45 to a line. Pharmacy took awhile to get through people and at 5PM lowered the metal overhead door and told everyone in line they are closed. The two employees and pharmacist refused to tell the customers their names and hid behind the barricade refusing service. There were only three people left, you can't stay five minutes late to give life saving medication? Keep in mind their hours are 9-11,1-5. I am appalled by the lack of dignity and duty to do the bare minimum to help other human beings get the medicine they need to survive. read more

The first time my daughter was waiting in line for a prescription that I needed right after my cataract surgery. I was waiting in the car. The woman at the counter tried to refuse to serve her despite the fact that she was already in line because it was her lunch break. My daughter had to raise hell in order to get the prescription. On the second occasion, I went to pick up two new prescriptions after my postop meeting with my eye doctor due to further inflammation from the cataract surgery for the same drops that I now was supposed to take for another month. One was for prednisone and I had already run out of the original prescription. I had informed the doctor and he called in a new prescription for prednisone. The pharmacist had not prepared a prescription for prednisone because I was supposed to wait another week for refills. The prescription was necessary because my corrected eye was still inflamed despite earlier treatment. I needed to use it again four times a day for 30 days. The pharmacist said that in spite of the fact that it was a new prescription, she wasn't going to fill it because I needed to wait that week for the refills to become valid. She said that my insurance wouldn't cover an early refill despite the fact the doctor had called it in. Because I needed it right away I had to pay the full price of 65 bucks in order to get what I absolutely needed. I used to enjoy this Pharmacy. The former pharmacist was very amiable and the service was excellent. This Pharmacy has gone downhill. UPDATE: now 3 stars from 1 star as my complaint went to the district supervisor and he will refund the $65 as I was entitled to have insurance cover it for ~$14. He will also review this with those on duty both occasions! read more

I was a little hesitant to go to this place, because I had heard some negative comments from a couple of people, but I went in for a prescription and I didn't have any issues. The staff was courteous and answered a few questions I had about my prescription. When things go well while picking up your prescription there's not much to say. But that's a good thing. I had a particular issue with getting my prescription filled, and the pharmacist was very helpful. He called my doctor and insurance company in order to get my much needed meds to me. It took about 30 minutes to sort out, but I came away happy and that's all that matters. read more

This CVS location is the worst I've ever used. They actually lie about how medications can be refilled. They told me there are no vacation overrides. The location on Falls Rd told me that of course they do overrides. One of the pharmacists told me that he couldn't mix brands of a medication I needed before I went on vacation in 2 days. MAYBE he could order it and MAYBE it would come in the next day. It didn't come in, but another pharmacist filled it using two brands. So the first one lied. Sick puppy. I called corporate. They called Exeter St and once again they lied and claimed this medication had been filled at another location. They pull your medications after 8 days. Period. Falls Rd location does pull, but they give you 10 days and you can call and ask them to hold it a couple of days longer. I just got a robocall from the store telling me that a medication I don't take has been refilled. So some poor person has no idea that their medication is waiting. Skip this particular CVS. It's worth the 20 minute ride to the Falls Rd location. They also have parking. read more

This CVS location mainly served as my bottle water vendor while I was exploring the Inner Harbor. This location is clean and well run. Although on weekends it got packed, the line moved along nicely. I visited CVS to get my second COVID vaccine. While appointments were hard to come by, when I got to the store everything moved so efficiently. I was amazed at how quickly I was a able to speak with the manager, Nimrod, and how pleasant he was. It is clear that he cares and works very hard to assure everyone is taken care of. After speaking with him I was able to get my vaccine right away and proceed to the waiting area. I was worried that the process would take a much longer amount of time but I was in and out in under 25 minutes, which included waiting at least 15 minutes after getting the vaccine and stopping Nimrod to speak with him and personally thank and commend him for a job well done. Everyone at the store was courteous, helpful, caring, and professional. A job well done all the way around! Thank you CVS! read more

This isn't a bad location - it's kept clean, it's large and stuff stays in stock. The staff can be a bit overwhelmed at times, in which case the service gets bad if you really need something. They seem annoyed when you point out the pricing marked is different than what rings up - since they are really slow to swap signage (which is illegal in some states). However, the pharmacy part is actually better than the average CVS, so they get props for that. read more

Disorganized store. I ordered photos for in store pickup estimated to be ready at 3:40 pm. Arrived at 4ish to be told it wasn't in the system. At 5 pm was told to come pick them up in 30 minutes. Arrived at 5:40 pm to be told they were in the queue and that the paper had run out. After waiting 15-20 minutes for someone to react and get printer paper I left. read more

This has usually been my go to location for prescriptions and other drugstore stuff. Today when I was there, I saw a new dry shampoo and wanted to smell it because I'm sensitive to certain smells. I couldn't smell it without spraying it so I sprayed the smallest amount possible on my hand to test it. An employee approached me and asked that I not test the products. I apologized and said okay immediately. She then continued to harass me and continued to tell me that I couldn't test things. Again I politely said okay, no problem. She WOULD. NOT. STOP. and it was seriously condescending and embarrassing. I have never been treated that way and I immediately put back all the stuff I was purchasing and left. Pharmacy: 5 stars Rest of store: 3 stars I have had CVS as my pharmacy in about 7 different cities and this is up there with the nicest staff and the quickest turnaround time. The staff is always nice when I call in a refill or need to have them call my doctor. I'm super impressed by that and am almost shocked every time they tell me if will be ready in 20 minutes. That was never the case in other pharmacies that I have dealt with. The rest of the store is OK. The staff is OK, sometimes totally absent and the self-checkout things are absurdly loud. But, it gets the jobs done - retail prices for things that you could get cheaper pretty easily, but when you're in a pinch, it's great. read more

This is the best CVS in the city that I've seen, and I believe the only one that has a Minute Clinic. It's big, clean, and has a great selection of products on nice, organized shelves. But on to the Minute Clinic, because that was the reason for my visit. I was unable to get a visit with my primary care doctor and knew I had a sinus infection. I just needed an antibiotic, not major medical care, so although I was dubious, decided to give the Minute Clinic a shot. I arrived at around 1 on a Friday afternoon. You sign in on a computer in the back, to the left of the pharmacy. You fill out your basic information and then have a seat right outside the door. The actual "clinic" is just one small exam room, but it was clean and nice looking. There was no wait, which was really nice. I'm sure this isn't the case during flu season or on weekends. You should also be mindful of the fact that there is only one practitioner there at time and that person takes an hour lunch break per day. According to the website, "Practitioners take a daily required lunch break from approximately 2pm to 3pm Mon - Fri and 1pm to 1:30pm Sat - Sun." They accepted my insurance, and I believe they accept most insurance, however although it was considered in-network with Blue Cross, Blue Shield, it counted as a specialist visit, so was double my normal copay. Anyway, I was seen almost immediately and the practitioner interviewed me quickly about my medical history and typed the information into the computer. Then she checked my vitals (I did not have to change, get weighed, or have my height measured). Very quickly, she was able to assess that I did indeed have a sinus infection. I was able to get the prescription filled right then and there within 15 minutes. If you're like me, you could easily kill 15 in CVS in the cosmetics aisle, but Whole Foods is located right across the street for browsing, if you want. Parking tip: Park in the Whole Foods garage. They will validate your parking for up to two hours for free if you purchase something. So, while I was waiting for my prescription, I hopped over to Whole Foods and bought a chocolate bar, which meant that my parking could be validated. When I pulled out of the lot, I would have owed $11, but because I had the validation ticket, it was free. All and all, it was a painless experience, and though it was more costly than a trip to my doctor's office, I didn't have to wait for an appointment and was in and out in less than an hour. The practitioner was friendly and knowledgeable. read more

This CVS... desirable location, grab a couple things before going bar-hopping or to the movies. Prices are very competitive, and actually certain items like the Arizona Iced Teas among other things are quite cheap, especially for a convenience store in the Harbor East. I contacted the District Manager responsible for this location (and the S. Charles location, see separate review) through certified mail - he contacted me the next day and we discussed the above incident. He graciously agreed to refund me the cost of the Lantus, and agreed that the pharmacy staff at both locations would receive additional training in proper procedure. I appreciate the fact that he did respond to my concerns, hence the extra star. I did, however, state that I distrust CVS as a pharmacy and most likely would not return. Perhaps if I need something on the drugstore side, I will, but this experience simply left a very bad taste in my mouth that won't go away that quickly. Still, they did take care of me, so I have to give them kudos for that. read more
