I have always been a fan of Wawa and consider them to pretty much be my gas station of choice. While Wawa is a gas station, I think most people embrace them and think of them more so for their subs, or as they call them, hoagies. What I call a sib is called by many different terms depending on what part of the country you are in. Wawa got their start in Pennsylvania somewhere by Philadelphia and over there, people call them hoagies. The story that I have always heard is that the name hoagie xomes from the Hoagland submarine base and the employees loved this particular sandwich so much that people started calling them hoagies. Anyway, for a gas station, Wawa has some pretty stellar subs (or if you prefer, hoagies). The gas is competitively priced and Wawa is an overall positive experience. For this particularocation, I will give it five stars. read more

Wawa, for me, isn't as comforting as to what I am used to. Not trying to start anything with that, and I respect that the Wawa freaks are loyal to a brand. I'm loyal to brand that is considered the rival, but I know my limits in certain areas, and I was limited here. The actual reason I stopped here was that my friend who is from Colorado said that he had never experienced a Wawa, so why not oblige him and bring him here. When we got here we were greeted by a man asking for money outside and made out way inside. Once inside we went our separate ways and grabbed what we wanted. Made our way to the register, had a pleasant conversation with the employees working, and were on our way. Once back outside I gave the man my change and made our way to where I parked. It was odd, looked like someone was residing in his car in the lot. I suppose that this is a safe place as it is always open and they are kind of safe. They were parked where the employees parked. So I stopped by Wawa (store #8504), to get their world-famous pretzels. Thankfully they had some in, but I didn't get the cheesy sauce. when I mentioned to the cashier, she said they have plenty of it in the back, apparently the gentleman behind the counter didn't want to walk and get it. shout out to the cashier for helping, she was amazing, and the pretzels were on point as always. if you haven't had a wawa pretzel, I do recommend. read more

I usually love me a Wawa, but this one was overall not a pleasant experience. Very bad smelling walking into the store. Small selection and very crowded. Unfortunately both the items we ordered were not as good as they usually are but that's likely because there were so many orders coming through so they were rushing. I feel for the staff who were pleasant but I would pick another Wawa if possible. Went from a 3 to a 4 because of the unassuming crocheted meats on the ceiling though. read more

I've been having a craving for a soup and sandwich lately.. who knew.. obviously everyone but me. That Wawa has such great sandwiches?? OMG!! I'm not sure about anyone else but i had a great experience. Over the years, my job has made me a bit of a germaphobe but I won't get into that.. there's only so many characters this yelp review can take. .. Anyway, I love the packaging and how everything arrives sealed..I mean everything! The sandwich was so fresh and they use Real chicken in the chicken noodle soup. The soup was good but of course not better than my momma's , but honestly who can compete with your mom's home cooking? Adorable gas station with made to order food! Never seen that before, thought it was really cool! I'd be lying if I didn't say I was confused though. I didn't realize you pay at the front of the store, then go get it at the back when you order from the back. The good is mighty tasty though for sure. This is Wawa is very close to my office. I've frequented this station for the gas, which is typically a little cheaper than others in the area, as well as their sandwiches. There have even been times where I got gas & a sandwich both at lunchtime. People might be skeptical of gas station sandwiches. I know I was the first time someone recommended a Wawa, but when I tried one for the first time (I think in Prince William County, VA if I'm not mistaken), I fell in love. This south Baltimore County location is no exception. The sandwiches are delicious; more than any other sandwich in the area. It's one of the best sub sandwiches I've ever had. All the ingredients are always fresh, and they also run deals a few months out of the year for Hoagiefest! (A hoagie is a Philadelphia dialect of the sub[marine] sandwich) Hoagiefest is $5 for their classic 10" sub! But even when it's not Hoagiefest, it's still $6 for the same sandwich, which is still a great deal. Wawa has a long history starting in the Philadelphia area. In the 1890's they had a diary farm, which grew rapidly in the 1920's as a milk delivery business. In the 1960's, consumers started buying their milk at the store, and Wawa opened its first food mart store in 1964 to adjust to these consumer behavior changes. Back to the present day, people (like myself, coworkers, & the many customers in there on any given day) enjoy their sandwiches, drinks, various other food items, etc. When you walk in, you put your sandwich order in the machine. Then, once you submit, it prints out a # with your order, and you go to the cashier to pay. The cashiers are pretty nice in there. Then, you go back to wait for your sandwich. They call the #'s in a seemingly random order. And when they call your #, it's like hitting the lottery. The waiting area can be a little hectic; there's not always a great place to stand to wait, but it's worth it for their wonderful hoagie. As for the gas, like I mentioned earlier, the Wawa tends to be cheaper than other stations in the area. Keep up the good work on that! Interesting note: Someone mentioned in a previous review this: 'A word of caution: They have a sign on the pumps that say "10% ethanol".' I looked into this, and 10% ethanol is the norm for gas in the US, which is a little better for the environment than pure gas. There are a few stations that are pure gas, but they are rare. Conclusions: Overall, excellent sandwiches (aka hoagies), friendly cashiers/sandwich makers, & relatively inexpensive for gas. Wawa is a Winwin. read more

Wawa is probably my favorite convenience store to go to. It has so many good food options and they're all delicious. They also have a gas station attached to all stores so a pretty good place to stop on long road trips. Wawa is full of chips, donuts, and a lot of other snacks but I always get food from their food station. You order what you want on a touch screen and then pay at the register with the receipt you get. Very similar to sheetz or royal farms ordering system. I love their turkey ham club sandwich. It comes with turkey, ham, and bacon and you can customize it with lettuce, tomato, mayo. All that sandwiched between 3 slices of bread. They also have subs, bagels, pastries, shakes and much more. If you need a lot of snacks or a quick bite to eat, come stop by Wawa! read more

I continue to preach my conversion from a Sheetz gal to a WAWA mama and I'll do it yet again. I stopped here to pick up some sandwiches with my son so we could picnic in Patapsco Valley State Park. We stopped in around 11 AM. Safety precautions were in place and being adhered to. The sandwiches were delicious as always. Service was friendly and timely. It took us about 6-7 minutes to receive our order and it stayed fresh until we were ready for lunch around noon. Every time we go to a state park I always look for a WAWA nearby since they have been consistently reliable in their quality of ingredients and the prices are pretty hard to beat. read more

Stopped in Wawa yo get a coffee later in the day . The coffee was Luke warm . They have a good selection of croissants and donuts and they were fresh . It's great for picking up snacks sandwiches yogurt . I just wish their coffee was fresher and hotter . read more

Wawa is sort of like the bank for me. I know what they have, I know what I need. As long as I get what I came for, I have no issues. I typically get one thing from wawa, a 24oz Mocha Wakeup with about 1/8 cup of Irish cream. I have it about once a week or so and I've been making it the same way for years and its like changing a tire at NASCAR :) For the most part this went well although the mix is obviously off because the drink was watered down. It happens the same way a fast food place might have watery beverages, the machine configurations may be off slightly. The issue here though? The bathrooms! It's 8am and the stall in the women's bathroom is gross! I mean the cleaning rotations are hourly so how is it possible that there is this much trash in the bathroom? And then a sign clearly posted saying they take pride in their restrooms. There were two registers open and a line wrapped around the store, mostly small purchases so the line moved fairly quickly. No issue there. The parking lot is probably not large enough for the amount of cars there in the prime time hours but I can assume that the franchising mandates the lot space as well. The cashiers are nice, but today was my first experience ordering from the menu. Maybe I assumed too much when I ordered a jalapeno popper quesadilla with cheddar and pepper jack, but I later discovered that it was nothing but jack cheese. Popped by just to get gas as they are one of the lowest in the area. A word of caution: They have a sign on the pumps that say "10% ethanol". This is one of few Wawas in the southwest Baltimore City/western Baltimore Co. area. This store has been open for less than a year and it seems to quite popular. Of course they have the counter where the make made to order sandwiches and the like, grab and go food area, extensive cold and hot beverage bar, lottery machine and everything in between (including restrooms). Growing up in New Jersey WAWA is an institution and always a welcome place to grab a buttered roll and a coffee. Today's WAWA is a one stop sandwich and hot food stop that us top quality in my opinion. The food here is higher quality than other food stores. What they do they do well. They never try to be something they are not. They don't do fried chicken, they do sandwiches, and hot food. I love their fresh baked rolls, superb egg sandwiches for breakfast. They get daily deliveries of food-to-go items for meals. I also love their soft pretzels. The staff is nice and they have a great production line to get your fresh food made and you on your way. They also have a great line of coffee hot and fresh. WAWA is an oasis in an otherwise crowded world of wannabe food stores. read more

I love WaWa. There is one about 4 miles from our house. SCORE! We were close by, and of course.....gotta stop by the WaWa. This WaWa was clean, and busy. The coffee flavors were plentiful...the grill was up and going....the Tastykakes were stocked. I got a flavored coffee and it was delicious. Patty checked us out and was so pleasant and efficient. Decent made to order subs, where you can place your order via a touchscreen. In November they offer what's called The Gobbler sub, which is basically a Thanksgiving dinner in a hoagie roll. If you're a turkey with gravy fan, I would recommend ordering this sub. A large selection of hot coffee and creamers puts Wawa a cut above other gas station stop. The banana I purchased was half rotten so be sure to closely check your fruit before you purchase. read more

This might have been the dirtiest, nastiest Wawa bathroom I've ever been in. I had to change the kid's pull-ups in the bathroom, and I didn't want to touch anything. I'm no germ-o-phone, but damn, this bathroom needs to be gutted and redone. Damn. There are two reasons this place didn't get negative one stars, and that's 1) my sub sandwich was delicious, as per the usual with Wawa, and 2) Yelp doesn't allow negative stars. This is a smaller Wawa but still holds true to the Wawa standards that I expect. The sandwiches take about a little longer than a Subway sub but they are usually packed (or maybe that just how I order my sandwiches). The service has always been good and friendly. They have a good coffee selection as well. Like I said it is on the smaller side IMO but still provides Wawa quality. read more

This Wawa gas station is located on the corner of US1 and 695 and is pretty busy in the morning. Navigating the traffic in the parking lot can be a slow, careful process. Inside it is pretty wide open and modern, with a lot of quick snack items on various racks. They have a bustling sandwich counter, and a bank of coffee dispensers with a lot of different options. A good place to go to grab something quick in the morning, except everyone seems to know about it already. read more

I'm surprised at all the poor reviews. I thought this Wawa was pretty clean and well stocked. I've never used the bathrooms so I can't comment. I have stopped a few times during work hours to grab a hoagie during hoagiefest ($4.99 hoagies)...the hoagies are AMAZING. They can compete with any deli sandwhich. More than just a late night stop.
