My experience this evening at the Redner's location in Joppa, MD was extremely disappointing. First, I found it inappropriate for management to address an employee in front of a customer. Any corrective conversation should be handled privately and respectfully. When I later expressed my concern regarding this behavior to the Store Director, Vikki Eiswert, I was told to leave the store after stating that I felt her approach toward the employee was rude. Rather than engaging in a professional discussion, she stated she would not argue, removed items from my hands, and proceeded to contact law enforcement. At no point was I aggressive or causing a disturbance; the only issue was that I voiced my concern about her conduct. I will not be shopping at this location again, and I intend to ensure that this experience is brought to the attention of the appropriate parties. No one--whether a manager or a store associate--should be spoken to in a belittling or disrespectful manner. The employee involved was not at fault, and being in a leadership position does not justify speaking to employees in an unprofessional way. While being asked to leave the store is not my primary concern, I will continue to share my experience until it reaches the appropriate level of review. read more

Today was the first time I walked around the entire store and I was pleasantly surprised! Redners has a lot of things to offer in terms of buying. In terms of paper plates , cups and forks were extra affordable. There have a nice variety of things that once can buy including having a deli, seafood department , bakery and food area. Not a lot of grocery stores or bakeries around Joppatowne. Let alone convenient 24hour businesses... So in a town that is quiet, isolated from the city and within a calm environment, a 24/7 business is hard to find. And then Redner's Market comes into place!! Not too bad overall. Not the largest selection of merchandise compared to other markets though. Prices can also be higher than you would expect. It makes up for that with the convenience of being open 24 hours a day. This location is also heading the way of self checkouts, so expect to wait during busier times of the day. They usually have 1-2 lanes open and everything else is self checkout. read more

Joppa location. Poor produce selection, poor stock rotation/reordering,WATCH YOUR RECEIPT!!! PRICES ON RECEIPT ARE OFTEN HIGHER THAN MARKED PRICE. I have had numerous issues with this store... The produce is mediocre, limp lettuce, celery, carrots etc., limited fruit selection. The prices are higher than most other stores (ShopRite in Bel-Air has better selection and lower prices) but they are the only store nearby. In addition to the prices being higher, they often ring up even HIGHER THAN THE MARKED PRICE; I was charged almost a dollar more per pound for something than the marked price as well as having been charged for a higher weight than product was marked, numerous other items have rung up more than the marked price (not related to club card discounts). If something is out of stock it will remain that way for several weeks. read more

The bakery department did such an amazing job on making Cookie Monster cupcakes for my daughters Sesame Street themed party. I had to call and make a few changes to my order and they changed it graciously. The young girl that does the decorating made them look better than I expected and wrote beautifully on a cake I had purchased, as well. Very happy. read more

I go here frequently because of work. They are my go to place when I forget my lunch or need to run in really quick for something to take home to cook for dinner. The hot bar is amazing, and that is a well known fact. I very frequently see people at work go out of their way just for their hot bar. You can't go wrong. Their employees are extremely nice and the layout of the store is extremely easy to navigate. If I didn't live so far away I would shop here regularly. read more

Shopped 11/26/11 Redner's is a great local supermarket. They have a pretty decent produce department, occasionally the produce has sat too long, but that's usually only with the root veggies (parsnips...come on, if they are fresh they shouldn't bend in half without breaking). The deli department is good, and we love Redner's redskin potato salad. The meat department is good too, and the staff will usually help me with special cuts of meat for my smoker. Also they have a decent special, "5 items for $20", you just need to look at packages and pick the larger sizes that make it a special, otherwise you treat Redner's employees to increased profit sharing. A real plus in our neck of the woods is the fact that they are open 24/7 with few exceptions. Okay, you could and should close on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter; there are too few family holidays, and much too emphasis on business, let the family stay together for certain occasions. read more

I am biased, as i live just a few blocks from Redners...on the way home too ( Yay ), but I almost couldn't be happier with how they operate. They are good at keeping most things in stock, and their being open 24 hours has been a real plus at times. Their deli is well run, and they carry a good variety of salads, meats and cheeses. And let's not forget their Legendary Fried Chicken! The person has not been born that doesn't LOVE their fried chicken. I'm also "pumped" that they sell gas too. And the discount on gas provided from your store purchases really adds up. I've had up to $0.40 off per gallon at times. They need to get a new produce supplier though. That's my only beef with them. They need to stay on top of that. read more

Their prices are a little too high, but still lower than Weiss. However, if you need something in a pinch they are a pretty good option. The store and restroom is always clean. I'm not sure what happened, but today there were flies every where...literally! Fresh meats and produce and okay prices. I buy dry bulk items like cereal, sugar, flour, etc from Walmart. They have a pharmacy, bakery, gas station, hot foods, and deli. Ample parking. I was trying to get a few extra steps and walked from Dollar Tree. Two men who appeared to be drug addicts were loitering outside. I informed with the young man at customer service who addressed the matter promptly...kudos! read more

The experience I had with the cashier, Collette, (at the Joppatowne Redners) was so exceptional that I just had to write a review. I hope she sees this! Me and my mother came through her line, and despite Collette being mute, that did not hinder her ability to show such kindness and humor! She kept us laughing and was just so sweet. My mom unfortunately realized she left one of her cards at home so we had to put some stuff back, we ended up still being a few dollars over and Collette used HER CARD to pay!! We begged her not to but she simply wouldn't take no for an answer. I have never been treated so incredibly and made to feel so comfortable by a store employee in my life! Such a sweetheart. My husband and I love Redners. We only shop at this grocery store because... 1. They are open 24/7 2. They have a "pump perks" card so we save SO MUCH MONEY on gas (we don't grocery shop that much and we always have at least 10 cents off) 3. The staff is very friendly. read more

Redner's is great. 24 hour store made shopping a breeze when I worked night shift. My wife and I used to have a Cosco membership but gave it up - we just wouldn't save enough money at Cosco's over shopping at Redner's to justify it. The staff is really helpful too. I usually stop in here to grab a few things for a cookout I attend every year in the neighborhood. Redner's is conveniently located and has plenty of parking. The store itself was clean and well-lit. It was clearly organized and had plenty of signage to show where everything was located. I found their cashier staff to be incredibly friendly in a genuine way. Normally, I feel like cashiers make small talk because you're in line, but there isn't any real "care." I actually enjoyed my brief conversation with my friendly and efficient cashier. This is the closest grocery store to my house and I am thankful it has arrived because Joppatowne was without a grocery store for a very long time. It has been here for awhile now, so it is not brand new, but it is still a good thing to have one close when I need to grab an ingredient or two when I realize I have forgotten something. Proximity is the reason I come here, but that is pretty much the only reason. I prefer Wegmans in Abingdon because it has so much more to offer and it is very clean. Redners will do when I am short on time since it is only a couple minutes away. The prices are fair and the selection is not bad. Gas prices are usually the lowest around. If you do shop here frequently, make sure to sign up for their rewards program to save on gas. read more

I'm very happy to have Redner's in my neighborhood. Before they showed up the choices were terrible in the area. Prices are decent overall and the sales on certain items can't be beat. Much cheaper than a Giant for example. People are friendly and the fried chicken from the deli is AMAZING! I shop here very often and recommend it highly. Redner's is my favorite grocery local grocery store. The prices are almost always lower than Giant from my experience. They have an ongoing deal on meat: buy 5 packages for $25. The last time I did this, I saved $10. I got 2 packages of porkchops and round steak, and 1 of beef tips. The staff is very helpful too. They go out of their way to help you look for something. The older lady in the pharmacy is very friendly and pleasant to deal with. The best part is they are open 24/7. I have gone here at 4am to buy medicine when I was sick, it was a real lifesaver! read more

Fairly expensive. I do 90% of my shopping at Aldies, since it is so expensive at Redners. They usually have everything in stock. I don't care for their 10 items or less check out. Because I was denied on a couple of occasions checking out at that aisle when I had slightly above and others were welcomed when they have the same amount. read more

Not happy with the new gas perk program that was just rolled out. You would have to spend 100.00 dollars and receive .10 cent discount. Now you have to accumulate 10000 points for the same 10 cents. So I went to their web site to review their new program but it has been taken down. I have shopped at my local store for years I was happy up until now. If this program is not backup with the new terms within the next week or two I will leave Redners and start shopping at Giant just up the street. read more

I purchased some item for a pasta salad among other ingredients. I purchased 2 boxes of pasta 1 salad dressing,1 stick of pepperoni from this establishment. I had purchased other ingredients else where for the salad .I prepared the salad on Sunday for a Labor Day party my family was attending only to be embarrassed because the pepperoni was spoiled. The salad had to be thrown out. I went to take the pepperoni back to the store it was 10:40 pm tonight only to be told they had closed the register already. The guy called for Mike to come up front only for Mike to down talk to his employees which was very unprofessional as a manager. They went back and forth that the female cashier could do it if she wanted to and that the gentleman couldn't because it wasn't their register so after the big to do I said give me my Pepperoni and receipt back, I will come back tomorrow. I wasted $3 pasta, $8 pepperoni, $2 dressing, $3.50 cheese,roughly $4 peppers, cucumbers and tomatoes and a wasted trip back to the store and not to mention gas and now and second trip back to the store because of the incompetence of the so called manager Mike. Customers beware that they sell spoiled products and do not want to refund you your money. I will up date this tomorrow when I return after speaking to a real manager hopefully. read more

I have always had a great experience with Redner's in Joppa Maryland until New Years Eve 2013. I ordered a large vegetable platter on 12/26/2013 to be picked up any time after 6:00 PM on 12/31/2013. When we went to the store to pick-up the platter, guess what; NO PLATTER.. The manager was kind enough to make a platter (for free) and give us a $10 Redner's Gift Card. Very Thoughtful and Much Appreciated. Lesson Learned: if you order a platter or anything, call and make sure your order was placed and not shipped to the wrong store!! read more
