Since I was in the area and in need of a couple select items from Trader Joe's I stopped in while in a calm state; as the congested parking coupled with folks zipping and driving outside of the noted direction posted traffic arrows placed for a purpose and not an option. However, I was able to find parking quickly and enter to a smiling and uplifting welcome into the store; plants outfitted with sunglasses. Pretty warming and mode lifting to enhance the shopping experience. The patronage was pretty busy with shoppers; yet they were calm and respectful of space and others. I love the flower assortment at Trader Joe's and as always its my first pit stop. I was able to nab some cool charm flower bouquets. Their flower selection today was skimpy. The blueberries were a bit on the small side for "jumbo" label and price. I grabbed a few fruit selections and meat and without delay checked out and into my car with easy and stress-free. A nice rainy Memorial Day brought shopping ease and enjoyment. read more

Great location and the store was fully stocked right after last weeks weekend winter storm. The shelves were full and they had workers stocking as we were shopping. The store wasn't too busy and they had many cashiers on hand. Checkout was quick and the employees were friendly! read more

I'm sorry but I don't understand the hype with TJ's. It's small, not a ton of selection, crowded, and just overall nothing exciting. Having said that, I will say that their prices are reasonable and their customer service is fantastic. But overall I wasn't that impressed. Maybe I need to try again when they are less busy so I can really take my time looking at what they have. read more

Woe is me, Trader Joes are always just a tad too far for me to travel on a regular basis. I briefly lived in Towson, back when Trader Joe's was in the lower level of the Barnes & Noble building... Even then, although it was within walking distance, I had to go into B&N, ride their elevator down, go outside, and then enter Trader Joe's. The hell. But now I have friends that live in Reisterstown, and we pass Towson at least twice a month. We were gathering to play The Wheel of Time RPG, and I like to bring snacks/food. And I tend to gravitate towards trying new things, so Jeremy and I went through the refrigerated food section and picked out about 10 things that we thought sounded yummy. We got: - Butter Chicken: Like something you would get at a good Indian restaurant. If you've read any of my past reviews, you know we were on a mission to find a decent butter chicken for a long while (found it in the Broadway Market in Fells Point). Trader Joe's version sure hits all the high spots. There's just enough rice to soak up the incredible sauce/gravy. - Scallion pancakes: Jeremy liked these more than I did. I couldn't find the right dipping sauce. Don't worry, there weren't any left over. - Chicken Bao: two packs weren't enough! I LOVED these. I want more. I want to eat them all the time. The steamed rolls are soft and slightly sweet. The meat is tender and sauced well. Orange Chicken: sub-par. I feel like this was one of the things we bought that neither of us would buy again. The chicken was fine, but the rice is awful. It's too hard for me, and the veggies are too crunchy. There's not enough sauce to make the rice worth eating. Lamb Vindaloo: I wasn't too fond of this. Jeremy liked it, but I'm not that big into lamb. The sauce was spicy and I always appreciate that. Some kind of jalapeno popper dumpling thing: It's been a minute since we actually bought this stuff, and I can't remember the proper name. These were not good. There's still something in my freezer that I don't remember and I'm too short to go look. We also stocked up on their grated four cheese blend. That was something we discovered back when we lived in Towson. I really want to make a grilled cheese with that. And there was this habenero block of cheese - OH dear LORD!!! Even though habenero has a reputation for being super spicy, this cheese is perfect. It's sweet and spicy. Even people who usually shy away from spicy foods loved it. We were there on a Saturday, so the store was packed. The check-out lines moved quickly and the cashier was friendly and efficient. I have plenty of grocery stores closer to where I live but I'm always willing to drive a good amount to get the trader Joe's items my whole family has come to love. I can't even imagine the number of times I've come here and never once have I ever had an even remotely negative experience. I don't know how they consistently manage to find the kindest, most enthusiastic (while not being overwhelming) staff 100% of the time!! The staff here are very friendly and helpful. I go in and it's always well stocked. They're a small store, but it's still very easy to shop here. I do love Trader Joe's but.... I'm not giving it 5 stars. The store itself is just way too small. The aisles are not wide enough to accommodate the amount of people who shop here. The parking situation is notoriously stress inducing for all Trader Joe's. Now that being said I love the wide selection of food, the ambiance when not infested with a swarm of hungry customers. There is a lot to like about Trader Joe's. They have incredible products, at super affordable prices. Their produce, organic and conventional, can be a dollar or two cheaper than what you can get elsewhere. Once I bring it home, I find it holds up just as long. They have cheaper "health food" than a lot of big box grocers. Vegan pepperoni, vegan cheese, tofu, vegan dips are all less than what you will pay at typical grocers. Their products are innovative, they are willing to try things or sell things from around the world before other businesses do. Lavender Almond Milk? Did it. Knife Cut Noodles? Got it. Hearts of Palm rice? Yep. Cauliflower Buffalo Dip? Had it. Their customer service is amazing. They always have a large staff on site, most of whom are willing to stop what they are doing to help you out. Some local products. While Trader Joe's specializes in their own brands, they do have a limited number of local products. This location, for example, carries Black Acres Roastery Coffee. This is a local, Black Owned Coffee roaster. So what's not to like? Store is smaller than typical grocers. This means it can be super crowded. It also means the parking lot can be a mess. Products can be out. It can be hard to tell whether this is a forever thing (haven't seen that aforementioned Buffalo Cauliflower Dip in months) or just a when you shop thing. They will constantly bring in new products at the expense of others. For a few months I was constantly purchasing vegan ratatouille bites and making sandwiches out of them. All of a sudden, they were gone, never to return. Despite the limitations, I am overall a fan of Trader Joe's and make sure I get there on a weekly basis. read more

I stopped by to grab some flowers and a card for one of my coworkers that got a promotion. They have such a great floral selection. And the prices are soooo good. You can find cards near the register for only $1.00!! You can't beat that. Since I saved so much money I grabbed a protein shake and a coconut water for myself lol. Went grocery shopping this morning thinking we'd beat the rush after church. WRONG! This place was packed! The store itself was beautifully stocked and the workers were all lovely but my oh my was it chaotic. Carts everywhere you couldn't even get down some of the aisles. The wifey really wanted the pumpkin spice Joe-Joe's but the mob around them was far too much we had to give up the dream. She settled on just getting a pumpkin pie instead for dessert but that was okay with her. Overall a good grocery store. read more

Located inside Kenilworth Mall (which by the way has gotten way more bumping since 2018) this TJ has all the things you want in a Trader Joe's. Friendly staff who chat with you as you check out. They are limiting the amount of frozen kimbap you can buy (by the way just go to an hmart and get fresh ones even though I can attest the frozen ones are actually good). This TJ's is always packed no matter what time of day but the layout makes sense, flowers produce, frozens in the middle and meat and bread on the edge. No booze here as it's Maryland. read more

Grocery shopping is one of those things that I hate doing. It's not that I don't love cooking or don't love picking out ingredients. Grocery stores give me anxiety! So many options... so many people... so many ways to have your day ruined. But Trader Joe's is just the perfect size for me where I know exactly what I want and where to find it. I've gotten it down to a science at this point. I go during an odd hour of the day like weekday mornings. I bring my reusable tote bags, grab a cart, and start shopping. I can be in and out within 20 minutes with at least a week's worth of groceries. Don't even bother coming on a weekend or a holiday or else it's pure chaos. Get there at the end of the day and you're SOL as many things will be out of stock. The staff is really helpful and friendly. They always seem to be restocking. They're all willing to point you in the right direction or give you their own insider TJ's info. Like the one guy who told me about the vegan garlic spread that you can put onto bread to make your own garlic bread. I've bought that garlic spread almost every time I've gone to TJ's since he showed it to me. It's so good and I use it in all sorts of things! The groceries are reasonably priced too (as much as they can be these days), and I've honestly spent less here and gotten more food than shopping at other big name stores like Giant or Safeway. I never thought I'd write a 5-star review about a grocery store of all places but Trader Joe's deserves it! read more

Fantastic location in a very popular part of town. I like this location because it's much bigger than my local one, but the parking lot is serious business! Nevertheless, they have everything! And they are so big that you can see everything properly and make decisions on what you do and don't want to pick up for purchase. They have a beautiful assortment of fresh flowers, plenty of shelf items, dairy items, organic items, fresh fruit and fresh protein meals. A dear friend from my mother's group on Facebook shared with the group a picture of the planted plants in tea pots and came out to take a look at them. This was several days before Mother's day, and they seemed like a great present for Mother's day. When I got there they only had 1 planted pot and it was not decorative like the one she showed. Also, they were smaller than I thought they were. The concept was cute, and I felt the price was reasonable. Well since I didn't find the ones I wanted, I just browsed through the store. I don't like this location and miss it when it was at the Towson mall. Trader's Joe is a high end market. I did get a few items, bread, Bonner's peppermint soap, and some pistachios. Still a 4 star rating, but they have stopped wiping down carts and providing hand sanitizer. I'm confused about this change as Covid numbers continue to rise--- we need to be more cautious than ever right now. They now provide wipes for the carts inside the doors, but the carts are located outside, so a customer would have already touched the cart prior to wiping ; Just doesn't make functional sense. Besides that, products and stock supply are still on point. read more

I'm a fan of the chain so I had to get my TJs fix and this was the closest one (~30 mins away). the store is clean and has many items in stock esp ones that I usually don't see at other locations. i went on a Sunday afternoon around 2pm and it was extremely crowded! i have never been to one this crowded before and it was even a decent size! it was hard pushing a cart around/ moving in general. the workers (as usual) are super friendly and nice tho and the cashier tried his hardest to fit my items in my single bag so I didn't have to pay for an extra one. (next time I'll bring more). although it was super packed, I still love TJs and their items so would def come back! read more

Im not one to review many places outside of restaurants, but yesterday I wanted to review this place. I don't go here often, but I tend to like it. Just like most people say, the parking lot is serious business. My second issue with all trade Jo's (not just this one) is that I always find the layout confusing to navigate. The registers are placed in an odd way that is confusing when there are a lot of people. So I do avoid Trade Jo's on peak hours. I find that they have great food choices; I have found online groups that discuss recipes with ingredients solely from here. It's like a cult, but it's so amazing because I have found some great recipes myself! I have to comment on special customer service. The gentleman at the register, John, had some of the best customer service; he was kind, helpful, friendly, and even taught me the trick to double-bagging paper bags! His service was so good, that I wanted to put a review. Can't wait to go back! read more

Stopped in Kenilworth for dinner and needed to run by the grocery store to pick up a log of mozzarella. Remembered that Trader Joe's was upstairs so I didn't have to make an extra trip on my way home. They had just what I needed and lots of stuff I didn't! Such as a Vanilla Bean mini sheet cake. OMG! Joe's is my go to for some items I can't find easily as well their reasonably priced brand name & private label items. They moved the previous close to downtown Towson location to Kenilworth and unfortunately it's a little further away. That said, whenever I'm in the area I make sure to visit. It's a small store compared to other bigger grocery stores but they pack most if not all of the necessities in a small space. Some of my favorite items-Organic Ethiopian Fair trade coffee, Unsalted Tortilla Chips. So many cheese varieties, bread varieties, Spanish Olive Cream Cheese spread and Hot & Sweet pepper jelly to name a few. Great prices on produce also. They always have a food "demo" & coffee and juice or tea are also available for tasting. Amazes me how they always manage their cash line queues & all of the employees are always friendly, & helpful. I am a lover of Trader Joe's but this location only gets 4 stars due to the parking situation. It's a true disaster. I feel like a parking lot wreak is waiting to happen at any minute. To get into the parking lot is a pain as well. I know this isn't truly their fault but when they based out the site plan for this store that wasn't thought out very well, especially knowing how popular traders Joe's are. On a positive note, this store is very spacious, clean and has some great employees!! Every time I have been to this location and had questions, anyone was willing to help!! It truly makes you feel so good!! The selection is just like any other Trader Joe's! I did realize in my last two visits they have some great flowers to choose from and they look so pretty!! If your a plant person truly check them out! They have samples all over!! Who wants to try some free food....ME...oh and everyone else hehehe!! It's always an exciting thrill when you go! First visit in some time. I refuse to go early in the day and wait in line. Since malls have reopened, and since the weather has become scorching hot, peak hour lines now stand in the mall's air conditioned comfort. I stopped by looking for salsa verde and their excellent Cuban Sandwich wrap. Found the latter. Regarding the former, I found a Vegan spicy Zhong Yemeni dipping sauce for my son in lieu of the verde. He loved it. Says it's like spicy pesto sauce. Also loaded up on seltzer featuring TJ's funky flavors, Dark Choc PB cups and coconut milk I forgot to buy earlier at Aldi. TJ's is always a treat to visit. Now we're in between viral lockdowns, I may need to stop by more often. It will have to be later, though. Oh, forgot to mentioned clean carts await in the narthex and a crew member will offer you a spritz of hand sanitizer on arrival. A nice touch, if I do say so. So. read more

I love Trader Joe's!!! Not much different than any other Trader Joe's location. All the same great stuff and set-up-- BUT they have a terrible parking lot. It is just an accident waiting to happen! Even with the extra parking deck at the Shops @ Kenilworth, this lot becomes infuriating. Im not sure why, but so many Trader Joe's locations seem to have terrible parking lot designs. WHYYY?!?!? It makes coming here, truly a work if tetris and leap frog that isnt for the faint of heart. read more

My wife loves a certain brand of gluten-free crackers. They're pretty expensive for crackers at grocery stores around us, but well priced at Trader Joe's. We were in the Towson area today and figured we'd stop in to stock up on said crackers. We went inside and found the crackers... priced at $2.99. They're clearly marked $2.99 by a label as wide as the shelf space they took up. Good price! So we stocked up... grabbed a bunch of of them, and then a few other things before going to check out. After the items were rung up, my wife noticed we were being charged nearly $5 for the crackers. So I kindly asked the cashier to double-check the price, because they were clearly marked $2.99. He said they're coming up at $4.50 (or whatever). I asked if it would be okay to run back and take a photo of the price that was advertised for him... no problem. I came back and showed him the photo (attached to my review here), and he still insisted they are $4.50, that the price marked was wrong or that price was for a different item. No "sorry about that" or... "let me get a manager". He just stood there looking at me I guess waiting for me to pay. I then said, "well that's not my problem" (about them marking a price wrong on the shelf). Before I had a chance to even ask for a manager, maintaining a nice decorum, never raising my voice or getting angry, another employee that looked like she was still dressed in her halloween costume from this past weekend, neon colored hair and all, turned to us and began to treat the situation like I was about to kill somebody. Ringing a bell (getting the attention of the entire store) and asking me to hang tight, that she'll get a manager, which I was going to nicely ask for in the first place. Her acting like a hostage negotiator drew the attention of everyone around us, who were all then looking at my wife and I like we were terrorists or something. Well, great that a manager is coming, I guess. But was it necessary to come in and try to "de-escalate" a situation that wasn't even a situation to begin with? I felt like I was in some kind of bad movie where an evil prank was playing out... over crackers. Anyway, said manager comes over... never makes eye contact with us... never says hello... never says "hey folks, sorry about our mistake"... no. He asks the cashier what the problem was. The cashier says "The customer says these crackers are $2.99, but they're really $4.50". I stood there in disbelief. I said... "I didn't say the crackers are $2.99... the price on the shelf says $2.99, here's a photo of it... you can go look for yourselves. I'm just expecting to pay for what the advertisement says, and if that's not possible, we just won't take the crackers." The manager never seemed to look at us or apologize... just corrected the price to $2.99 (to his credit) and briskly walked away. Still... wouldn't one expect a 'sorry about any confusion, folks!'. Some might argue... these are just crackers... a couple bucks more. But that's not the point. If something is advertised at a certain price, that's what you should be charged. I don't care if it's a box of crackers, or a car. Needless to say... that'll be the last time we step foot in that location. If you want to go in and pay more for something that's clearly marked a lesser price, then have the audacity to question why you should have to pay more, and worse, have what looks to be someone dressed like a clown speak down to you like you're the scum of the earth, go shop here. My love letter to Trader Joe's, I love that it is smaller than most grocer stores, so it is easy to navigate and to make quick trips. I love their flowers and fresh produce. Flowers are so cheap, highly recommend grabbing some, other grocery stores are double the prices here! The produce is great, they always have fresh stuff, and again I think the prices are very fair for most items. And you can find very unique stuff that you can't find anywhere else, like shishito peppers! I love their specialty items! They have cauliflower gnocchi, mini machi ice creams, delicious crispy cookies, amazing frozen dinners, concentrated cold brew coffee... and they are constantly rotating new delicious things all the time! Everything I have tried has been amazing. I love their business ethics. They are happy to return anything you don't like even if it is opened... I bought some gluten free english muffins and they molded very quickly, I returned them and they were totally okay with it! They stand by their stuff and everyone who works there are so nice and happy to help. I love the free samples! They always have food and drink samples in the back of the store... it always gives me great ideas! And I love trying things I have had my eye on. I have also heard that you can ask someone to try anything in the store and they will open it for you! I love their artwork. I read an article about TJ's that they higher local artists to do their signage and store decor, next time you are there take a look around, it really is adorable! I love Trader Joe's! read more

I do not know when they moved to this site, but it's lovely! It's a nice sized store with wider aisles and great products. Parking looks like it could get crazy during busier hours, but I visited early in the day, mid week and couldn't have had a better experience. The store was well stocked and well organized, everything appeared to be clean and well organized. Fresh flowers and fresh produce appeal immediately upon entering. The refrigerated selections have improved greatly from my last visits. We don't have a local Trader Joe's, so my visits are unfortunately infrequent. Maybe someday............ read more

I love Trader Joe's as an organization, but when I shop at this particular location, I often end up with food that is rancid, moldy, or rotten. Here's a picture of an egg from a carton that I bought at the Towson Trader Joe's this week: when I cracked some of the eggs this morning, two of them had mold inside. I checked the expiry date, and sure enough by the time I had bought the eggs, they had already expired. Based on many past experiences, I know that if I take the eggs back to Trader Joe's and complain, they'll give me a different carton of eggs -- but I don't want free eggs. I just want the management to actually care about the quality of food that they're selling to their customers. read more

I've been to this TJ's before and liked it. TJ's is about 20 minutes out of the way for me so I don't come here often, and when I do I feel like it's an experience bc everyone always talks TJ's up. I'm currently doing Whole30 and know TJ's has a lot of specialty compliant products so I made an intentional trip here. The shelves were so dilapidated and under stocked. I got the last can of coconut milk and had to go hunting for it in their miscellaneous items they have near freezer items. The produce was unorganized and unappealing... many of the price signs were knocked over underneath other produce so you didn't know prices. Just left me with a really meh feeling and I feel like I wasted the drive out here. read more

I don't visit Trader Joe's often, due to location, this is about 45 minutes from my home. We make it a priority to travel about once a month or every other month. This location is great, attached to the mall, plenty of parking. Inside the store it's very clean, shelves all stocked up. Staff friendly and very helpful. Trader Joe's has such unique items I love just walking up and down every isle checking out all the things. Some of our favorites are: Reduced Quilt Mac and Cheese, everything but the bagel, thia tea mochi, green goddess salad dressing, pickle popcorn. I could go on and on, because I just love this store so much! Next time you are in town, check it out! read more
