When Lidl opened in our local shopping center a couple of years ago, I was stoked that the community had another shopping option within a five minute drive. I will say that I appreciate that prices are fairly reasonable and there are quite a few international items that you won't typically find at local grocery stores. The store itself is fairly large and the layout is nicely designed with bright lighting. Food options are decent and who doesn't appreciate that bakery? But... there's some serious room for improvement. The checkout experience can be a total nightmare - endless lines with one or two lines open. Very frustrating. What's even more so is when lines abruptly close as you walk up! There's never anyone restocking, so when meats and produce run out, that's it until the next day. (They really could learn from the Trader Joe's business model). However, I did witness something promising this evening... THREE cashiers on duty at the same time! Let's hope that feedback from the community steers their service in a good direction. read more

The prices have gone up , I realize things cost more than a year ago, but the quality has gone down especially on perishable products, it's a good store for the convenience of picking up basic items, there is not a wide variety and the lines can be terrible, usually only one one checkout opens at a time read more

I rarely ever go to shop here but yesterday on March 12 around 6:30pm my boyfriend and I decided to pick up something quick from here. We get our items through the first check out line and after I pay which our total was $24.73 I politely told the cashier I did not need a receipt and my boyfriend and I walked out and waited in the front for our uber. The 5 minutes that we were waiting the security guard was also in front having a conversation with another couple not paying us any mind. Well I tell my boyfriend since we have time let's go see if they have gushers in the store because we forgot. We go back in and see that they do not have what we need so we then proceed to walk back out. Before we can walk out the security guard who was just having a conversation is now in our faces asking for proof that we purchased our food. Well we have bags that you have to pay for in our hands and the food that we have already paid for. I tell him we were looking for gushers but this store doesn't carry them. He then says well let me see your receipt I tell him hey I didn't ask for one I didn't think I needed it. Well he then says you cannot leave this store without proof of purchase but the first time we left he didn't say anything to us nor did he ask for a receipt from us or anyone that left the store before us. I tell him that I'm sorry but I paid for our groceries you would have to talk to the cashier because if I needed my receipt she would have told me that but since she didn't there must be some miscommunication on both of your parts and that is not my problem. (At this time our uber was 1 minute away). This security guard proceeds to still go back and forth with me claiming that we didn't pay and then finally asks the cashier who says we are good to leave. I am highly upset at this moment because this has now escalated into a scene and it has now become harassment. As me and the security guard are going back and forth because I told him his approach was disrespectful he tells me he is no one to argue with (as he is arguing with me). He then also says that I am a "kid" no I am not but he was clearly very much my fathers age so as a grown adult if I am a kid you shouldn't be trying to belittle me or think you can talk to me any kind of way especially because you've profiled me and my boyfriend and we proved him wrong. He also said he was just doing his job but this situation could have been cleared up faster if he would have just asked the cashier after I told him I didn't have a receipt but he felt like he needed to use his authority to have some kind of power over me The whole experience was embarrassing and I will not ever be coming back to shop here. read more

This Lidl near Morgan University was understocked and messy when we came here yesterday afternoon to grab a few things. The plants needed water. Many of the shelves were empty. The line to check out was 6 deep when another employee opened up a new checkout station. I didn't see a self-checkout option here, maybe I missed it? We did score some post-Easter gingerbread on sale! Not my favorite Lidl but it is convenient on my way home from work. Best of all, you don't need a quarter to get a cart. read more

Generally a good store with gold prices. They're oversights have been the following : RARELY, DO THEY HAVE MORE THAN ONE LANE OPEN FOR CASHIERS. I don't know what the protocol is for their management team, but typically a second open line isn't called for until there are 10+ customers in a line- perhaps 1000 items to be scanned. The other drawback is relatively limited selection of products in the baking section, especially - there must be a total boycott on the Jell-O company you cannot find a single box of gelatin or any flavor or pudding. The bakery department is decent in the morning by the end of the day forget it. Go prepared with a shopping list but by each item you barely have a back up item in case they don't have what you really wanted You will need patience, creativity, and an open mind for this store to be your one shop to go to ! read more

Pretty clean store. Stopped in just to pick up my reward of a free twix. However, I was gonna pick up some bacon that they had on sale 2/10 but, the employee made me aware that they were sold out. I was a little disappointed. I did end up picking up a pretty flower and advent calendar for my niece's birthday. She was super excited to receive it. This is a good go to store just to pick up simple things. Well organized. read more

TODAY'S THE DAY! Lidl finally opened and boy was it FESTIVE! The line was long but luckily the sun was out. Make sure that you download the MyLidl app and add the Homewood location as your 'set store' to stay up to date on weekly circulars, etc. I know this is just the first day but it was my first time at Lidl. I'm very impressed with what they offer AND especially the prices. I'm so grateful that we have this in the neighborhood. read more

So 3 weeks ago l was racially profiled by a black male employee in the store in Nottingham MD. I Guess he thought l was trying to steal the items that l actually bought. He stood there staring at me like a hawk watching my every move, meanwhile there was a white man stealing his little heart out placing items in his pockets. I did call and make a complaint the costumer service representative was extremely nice and apologetic. I understand that people steal but not this black person anyway. Racially profiling people because you think they might steal will get you a law suit ."LET ME MAKE THIS VERY EASY IF YOU DON'T WANT BLACK PEOPLES SHOPPING AT YOUR MARKETS MAKE IT CLEAR!!!!!! I went at Lidl on March 15, I got from the cooler 2 packs of chicjen wings. Arrived at self-check out to pay but the lidl associate told me that I could not buy those wings because they're not in the system. I told her to replace them for me, she said no. Even the store manager, a lady, said no for a replacement. The store did not take out those items that are not for sale read more
