This Asian food market is JAM PACKED with so much stuff! It is similar to H Mart, but not as crowded, smaller, and doesn't have as much variety of course. But still, you can get fresh tilapia, chicken, duck, and decent selection of produce and more. For a small store like this one, it is FULL OF THINGS!!!!! My husband loves that store. Tampering with expiration dates is dishonest and unethical. Bought Maesri brand pad Thai sauce but didn't notice until I got home that it was tampered with. The expiration date is usually stamped on top of lid. The jar had the expiration date rubbed off and a price sticker in its place. The hard plastic wrap around the jar and lid was partially peeled off to allow this. See the photo of the tampered product vs. another sealed, stamped jar. Won't step foot in there again. read more

I like this supermarket very much, but they are not very honest about the price. I bought two different breads last month. I asked the price before buying. One bread was $2.28 and the other was $2.98. After paying, I saw the receipt , he counted me two breads, both are $2.98, and then I asked him if two different breads are $2.98? He told me that he thought the two were the same bread, and then he only returned me 50 cents, so I thought forget it. I thought to myself that the two breads are completely different? Today I went to buy two packs of chestnut snacks. I saw that it was marked $2.28, and the bill was $2.98 multiplied by two. What's the point of overcharging me? Please be careful when buying frozen meat from this establishment . Purchased 2 packs of Longiinisa. Meat was frozen when purchased. Cooked meat within 15 minutes of purchase. Meat was very dark and had a sour smell. Returned meat to store and let them know it was bad. They refused to return our money because it was cooked. How do you know frozen meat is bad unless you cook it? After telling them we would take it to the health department, they reluctantly return our money. We also advised them to check the rest of their product. If they sell spoiled product, they leave themselves open for a law suit. These people very very rude. read more

This place is a great alternative to H-Mart or Lotte (the big asian supermarkets that you have to drive all the way to Ellicott City for). I am based in Baltimore and so having A-Mart around 15 minutes away saves me the trek of driving almost half an hour to grab an asian ingredient. They have a pretty great selection of ethnic sauces and spices -- things that you can't usually find at your local Safeway or Giant. I think the best part for me is the vegetable section. Yes, it is very limited and the selection isn't too great. They don't even have all the produce out in bins or anything like that, just plastic bagged. Hint: You don't have to buy the prepackaged plastic bag (there's usually too much in there for anyone's tastes). Just open the bag and use a separate bag to take what you want. When my friends and I want to eat hot pot at home, we usually come here to grab a few items. The total usually comes out to around $1 per half bag of ingredient. It is insanely cheap. Also on the topic of hot pot -- they also sell butane burners for your hot pot machine. I am a little skeptical of the quality of their fish and meats... it's a small market and doesn't seem like they restock too frequently. But I have noticed that produce seems fresher on Mondays/Tuesdays so those days will probably be your best bet. It isn't the most sanitary store ever, but hey, what are you gonna do? However, for a small local grocery/mart it is fairly well stocked and VERY cheap. No, they won't have everything all the big marts have but then again you can't really expect that from just a local store either. Also a word of caution: if you aren't asian or aren't familiar with asian foods, it can be quite overwhelming as the foods and products aren't really properly named and identified. One time while I was here, a caucasian man asked me what something was about 5-6 different times and then would cringe his face every time I explained it to him. Please be courteous to other shoppers, if you're unfamiliar with something don't ask about it multiple times and don't make judgment calls on things that people in different parts of the world consider a delicacy. It's no H-Mart, but it's right by my gym and it carries some tasty treats (yan yan, koalas, milk candies, pocky, etc.). The veggies/fruits weren't great looking, although I wouldn't by them there in the first place. Other than that, it seemed pretty typical. read more

I shouldn't have given them a 1 star, make sure you review your bag before leaving the store. They add products and when you return it they will not give the full refund because on the receipt price is less than what the product price, so if they do this with a hundred people a day plus it stinks, will not be going back. read more

It's nearby when we want to cook Asian food last weekend, but disappointed that it's small. We got what we needed but we still needed to go to Safeway grocery store for other items. If you want full line of Asian foods, then add more miles to go somewhere else but for convenience, A-Mart has some items that you would appreciate near you. read more

Wanted to buy some tangyuan for New Year's. The first box was expired by more than half a year. The other was edible, though that doesn't say much for taste. Sesame balls (zhimaqiu) were hard as a rock even after a good time in the toaster oven. Will not go back. read more

I live within walking distance of this store and was very excited when I first discovered it. Who wants to drive all the way to Ellicott City?? That excitement waned within a few months. I found that the selection of packaged foods, frozen items and fresh veg was ok. However, I was completely turned off by the cashier calling people from the back of the line to be rung up ahead of me. The first time, I understood- there was a bag of frozen goods that she had obviously left there. The next four times this happened, weeks apart, however, there was no indication that the customer had actually left something and a couple of times they had come in AFTER me. When I said "Actually, I'm next" I was told that the customer had come in earlier and was actually next. No, thank you. I will take my money elsewhere. I am glad some people are having good experiences at this location but it's not for me. I'll stick to H-Mart for the better variety of goods for my ethnic cooking needs and much better customer service. read more

Great place to shop for Asian groceries, the place is much cleaner than the Asian market found on loch raven blvd. They carry all kinds of Asian groceries, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, and Vietnamese. Wonderful little Asian market with a bit of everything and decent prices to boot! I love their noodle section and go there to restock my sauces/condiments/spices collection. It's like a mini H-mart. They have a fair selection of staple foods for most recipes, fresh veggies and meats. Friendly and helpful folks! I made this Yelp account simply so I could post a good review for them.
