Having shopped here on & off (mostly off more recently) for more than a decade I can offer these TRUE and GENUINE advisories: 1. Check the dates! They regularly sell expired or near-expired items (as in 1 day). I showed the stock personnel about a popular pasta-based meal kit that was more than a week past expiration and they left it on the shelf, I spotted a day later. 2. Make sure the advertisement sign matches what you are buying - they do shady things like moving the items over from the sale tag so you are confused. 3. Check your receipt. These guys are tricksters and sheisters and will swap out items at every chance. At times I have found more than 50% inaccuracies on my receipt. Of course, I have to wait forever in a line to contest with customer service. 4. Worst beef E-V-E-R. Been cooking beef for30+ years - these animals are not well. Inedible & rock tough no matter how you cook, and zero flavor. Subpar distributors/farmers. Go to GIANT. 5. Beware of shopping here. I am not sure how they have not been shut down by OSHA/FDA. read more

I typically shop at the Weis market on Joppa Rd, but came to this one since it is directly up the street from my home. I came in for a few items for Christmas. I did pick up extra items that were not on my list. I eneded uo getting papetowels, Cuties (tangerines) just to say. I was grateful for the help in the can good aisle and the baking items aisle. Each person took the time to assist me in finding my items. They truly did take me to the shelf and pointed out my items. They didn't point and say over there like most store clerks do. I am grateful that they eased my anxiety. I was a little disappointed that the canned sweet potatoes were not the size I was hoping to find like the large fat canned greens. I probably would've found them in Shoppers, but I thought all markets carried them. Check out was easy. I used the self-checkout, since there was no long lines there. read more

This was my first Weis experience so bear with me. To be fair my grocery store game has been continually upgrading since relocating to Baltimore. I started Save A Lot, which is good in a pinch, but doesn't often have the same items each time so it makes it hard to regularly get your staples. Then Eddie's, which I LOVE, but tends to be on the smaller boutique end of grocery shopping. Then Giants! Which is a very solid staples neighborhood grocery. However I just discovered Weis and there was so diversity in the PRODUCE. Hello fruits and vegetables this winter. I will also say this particular location has stacked ethnic sections (the Asian and Hispanic sections were very impressive) and the frozen section was full of goodies I haven't seen anywhere else. New favorite grocery spot! read more

EVERY SINGLE REGISTER IS SELF CHECKOUT! This is is probably my third visit to Weis. I only go to this location because it's next door to Target and it's just easier to get more done in the same space. Weis is no better TH an any other grocery store but this location (I don't know if other Weis locations do this) only has self check out. I hate it here. Never coming back. So not cool. I came in to purchase a few things I needed. I thought I would try shopping here again. After the rather rude gentleman that was putting shopping carts away in the foyer area, I asked him for a cart he was putting away. He told me no, and to take one that he had not put away. I am not on your payroll to grab a cart that was on the other side when I was right next to the carts he was putting away. I took one from those and he again told me not to take that one, but I needed to get the other one not put away. I didn't have time to go to a different store. I will make time to go to any other store but yours. read more

We love Weis, but this one rarely has enough people to staff at least one checkout lane. Tonight was the last straw. You'd think we could have help when we spend hundreds of dollars, but you'd be wrong. We'll go to Safeway or Giant before we return to this location. read more

I like to go to Weis for groceries as they double coupons. There's a great selection of products and a well thought out layout. It's one of my favorite markets. However, the website says they're open until midnight on Saturday yet the sign says 9pm. When I walked up after 10pm, it was confusing. In addition, they closed the entrance and expect you to enter through the exit. If I hadn't seen an employee as I was entering, I'd have left. The staff is welcoming. As I walked through, one worker did check in to see if I needed help. There were only self checkout lanes open. A worker was available to help with my coupons. But trying to navigate the checkout on my own, pack my own bags, etc is challenging with a disability. It'd be nice if there were at least one register open with a worker. read more

I can tell my local Weis is ailing. At the beginning of the pandemic, there was hand sanitizer everywhere and even a person who wiped down the carts before people used them. Now when I go early Friday mornings, the carts are busting out of the containers on the parking lots. No one greets you at the front door. The carts are not wiped down. Hand sanitizer is sometimes but not always available. This morning, there were no clerks to check out groceries, only the self-checkouts. This makes me sad because Weis' initial reaction to COVID was so thorough and efficient. Now, they are back to pre-COVID habits which makes me wash my hands twice when I get home. Sigh. I still come here for grocery shopping because the location is so dang convenient but I really wish this store had better virus management. read more

After shopping at Giant for over 40 years, friends of mine suggested I could get the same products at least 40 percent cheaper at Weis, and they were correct. So, I started shopping at this store on Putty Hill and Goucher about a year ago, and was happily surprised. That changed about a month ago when an idiot of a manager took over and started by putting in a policy of only one cashier and all the rest self-service, not the way to go at this time. When several of us tried to talk to him, he became rude and nasty. That forced me to leave the store and go back to Giant for the past two weeks. I went back to Weis today and was told that manager is on a on week forced vacation. Hallelujah! Maybe someone in corporate is finally listening. There is no place in today's world for anyone in a higher position to be anything but overly accommodating. This guy needs a permanent vacation. P.S. If you want great customer service, wide variety, and low prices with high quality, I recommend going to Weis markets, my daughter and I shopped at Weis markets and two lovely people helped us due to a small inconvenience, Mike the manager even compensated us because of the inconvenience. nice store, but that cart guy is insane. dont know his name, its not all, but this particular one. I'm sure he's a good worker, but he is really abrasive with getting the carts from people. I have had 8, yes I"m counting, occasions with him where he basically takes the cart right from under you before u can get out of the store. very very annoying. if i have 8 or 9 bags,I need the damn cart to get the bags to the car, that's the point of the cart. my assumption is that he is trying not to walk far to get the carts, but doing that, he is coming off as a jerk who basically hounds and smothers you before you can get your bags away from the store. he needs some talking to. read more

Why is the customer service desk closed at 12:10 PM--in the middle of the day? No one cared about helping me. Two employees were standing in the aisle watching the self-checkout counter. So I am new to the neighborhood. I don't really live close but this is one of the good quality ones. So I have been here a few times before I finally decided to write a review. I wanted to get a good feel. Last week I was here in the evening, it wasn't crowded and I had at least three employees ask me if I was ok or needed anything. I can't remember the last time I was at the grocery store and I had someone ask me that like we were at Nordstrom or worked off of commission . Tonight I was here and of course I was here to buy seafood! The seafood department was shutting down, but the guy Ken that was working tonight went out his way to make sure I was a happy customer. I really appreciated the customer service I received here each and every time that I am here. Even the guy that rung me up was nice. He was very personable and made my trip to the grocery store fun and not feel like a chore. read more

Very clean store and well organized. Weis bakeries are hit or miss but this one smells amazing in the morning (I haven't tried it yet). Prices are on par with other Weis locations and very reasonable. Customer service is touch and go. I found a very polite and helpful guy in produce who went above and beyond to help me find some boxes. Unfortunately, I've encountered some who don't seem to enjoy their jobs as much. One woman let out a loud sigh and slammed down the prices she was marking because I bothered to ask her a question. She ultimately couldn't help and passed me off to an equally miserable woman in the dairy department. However, the customer service and staff in the self-checkout area seem very cheerful. Customer service was horrible. I had a question and the lady was very rude to me. Also it was rush-hour and it was only one lane open. Everyone had to use self check-out and I was having some difficulty with the produce and the ladies that work there did not want to be bothered and seemed upset that they needed to help me.. This was my first time here and I was pretty impressed. The store was just beautiful. I only stopped in to get bread and eggs and my son called on the phone to ask for chewy chocolate chip cookies. This location is the closest one to my house. I also love the fact they dollar a coupon up to a dollar. The customer service is horrible!!!!! There is a young lady that works at the customer service station that is rude no matter what you need. One time I observed a customer complaining about her to the supervisor and I knew exactly who she was speaking of. A lot of young people work at this location and they're super disrespectful!!!! This store is close to my apartment so I shop there sometimes. I am subtracting 2 stars because there are too many self checkout registers and not enough cashiers. This area has many seniors and residents with disabilities who might not want to bag their own groceries. The selections are good, reasonably priced and the store is clean. The Weis store in Towson is clean, has a great variety of food and produce, and has a very helpful staff. I was there 2 nights ago and was amazed at the selection of produce, the fresh meats and options available at the deli, and the overall selection of times on the shelves. I've shopped at the Giant market close by, as well as Mars and Shop-Rite. This store takes the cake and will be my regular destination for groceries. I'd say the only negative (if you can call it that) is that the store shares a parking lot with Target and Marshalls. I can see how it would be super crowded to shop there on the weekends, so weeknights are your best bet. read more

I really like this store! I think it's a great addition to the shopping center. The prices aren't too high, and they have a nice selection of international foods and cheeses. I visit the Weis in Towson often. The store is very clean and in some departments customer service is great; however, my only issue is I don't care to use self check out and they only had 1 register open. I feel after a certain time in the evening they should have at least 2 cashiers so that customers can have a choice of whether they want to use self check out or not. This store is clean, well stocked, great produce and meat quality, and has a great selection. It's the only store in the area that carries garam masala. I wish it were closer to my house; I'd be here every grocery trip. read more

Weis purchased the old home of SuperFresh markets between Marshall's and Target off Joppa Road on Putty Hill and they opened in early 2013. They really cleaned the place up: it's brighter, nicer, better cared for, and has more slightly upscale merchandise such as deli offerings and maybe sushi. Unfortunately, in my experience you can't always trust the prices marked on the shelves. I've just been there twice, but both times I looked at the receipt later and several items were marked at prices higher than I saw. Most recently 3 items out of 17 were overpriced, making my total bill about $5 higher than it should have been. I used an online form on their website to let them know, and have not heard back so far. (It's been a week.) Overall, I recommend the place but just be very very careful and watch the prices go up on the screen as they are scanned, since you are somewhat likely to find mistakes (conveniently in their favor)! read more

Weis Market does have some good fresh food specials, however, I am finding things going bad rather fast. This greatly concerns me. Usually Shoppers is best for prices and quality. Weis has a great deli area, but it is hit or miss on other kinds of pricing in the store. I will only go here for specific deals. Be careful about perishables! read more

I was loyal Giant customer for over 16 years, until I stumbled into Weis a few months ago. I am now a loyal Weis customer. The staff at Weis have really won me over. Every time I have needed assistance, not only has someone been there immediately but they follow through and treated me like a family member. And as a comparsion shopper, I have noted prices are lower (than Giant and Safeway)on most of the products I regularly buy. read more

I don't normally do reviews, but today was the last straw. I went to the store for two items & the first was at their deli. The clerk looked up & saw me there & said "I'll be there in a second". Five minutes later, he was slicing cheese one slice at a time & wrapping it, totally ignoring me. Maybe the ear phones he was wearing was an important personal phone call??? I waited a few more minutes, & left. This was on 9/7/17 at 8:10 AM if the "manager" needs to know. Prior to this, I've been overcharged on advertised items & overlooked it.
