One of the friendliest shopping places for groceries and a few other odd things. This location can get hectic with customers but on this Thursday evening it was a very relaxed shopping experience. Parking was smooth and not taxing on my patience. The music playing was that of a soothing melody and the shelves were stocked. I was able to grab not only what I went for but browse slowly through the aisles and select items that catch my eye. The key to shopping at this Trader Joes is going when the rush is not here. Came here to pick up a snack. Trader Joe's is hit or miss when it comes to crowds. We came on Sunday afternoon and it was fairly calm. This location had a parking lot, but it was very crowded. Upon entering, the layout was similar to other TJ's and it was easy to navigate the store. The store was well stocked and I found what I was looking for. As always, the associates at the register were very pleasant. I love that they still provide paper bags for FREE! All in all, I enjoy my limited trips to Trader Joe's. read more

The more I come to Trader Joe's, the more I love it. The staff is always so accommodating when we're trying to find something. I've come to love their Fig & Olive crisps, sweet potato fries, and chickpea salads, among other items, of course. But some products can only be found here at Trader Joe's. The best Trader Joe's near Baltimore. I've been to all three in the area: Towson, Columbia and this one. It's on a really cute strip mall next to a Barnes & Noble. There's also wine store next door. The selection here is the best they have the most options. The staff here like all Trader Joe's are lovely but this one goes above and beyond. My sister who was visiting from Canada asked about 1 million items on her list and they were able to secure each one and even called other stores to see if they had it in stock. If you live in Baltimore city you have to drive to a Trader Joe's so I recommend you drive to this one. read more

I can't believe this is the first time in writing a review for the Pikeville Trader Joe's. What led to this review? Read on. Trader Joe's is one of my favorite places to purchase my groceries. From the offering of flowers to the delicious options in aisles, it's one of my go tos for produce, cheeses, and other products. Today, I made the mistake (or was it) of going when I was hungry. A no-no for shoppers, I walked in the store intent on getting a few items. At the door, I was greeted by a sample table. After walking past it, I ended up next to the table. Seeing cups with crackers and whipped feta cheese, I decided to try the treat. Delicious. I picked up the crackers and feta to purchase and asked about the spicy honey also on the table. "Does that taste good on the cracker?" I asked. Uncertain, the samplier (sounds like sommelier and a word I just made up) offered to put some spicy honey on another sample. After a taste, I instantly asked if she had a bottle handy that I could purchase. She didn't; however, she told me where I could find it. I continued my shopping and made sure to pick up the spicy honey before I left. This experience highlights why I enjoy coming to Trader Joe's. I can find the products I like while being introduced to new products to love. The friendly staff is another plus. read more

I always have a great experience at this Trader Joe's Despite being a very busy area with a busy and crowded parking lot- the inside of the store is organized and spaced out- the staff is always available to help me find things or let me know if they do or don't carry something. I am consistently impressed by the quality and price point of most items here. I also enjoy their seasonal items that capture the essence of the season. I often pick up produce, frozen goods, sweets and beauty products. For example, the organic coconut oil is $4.99. The grab and go meals along with frozen entrees are perfect for when I am too busy to cook from scratch. Service is excellent, carts are organized in the front, and reusable bags are available for purchase. Parking is good though it's in a busy plaza near a Chipotle and Chico clothing store. I love Trader Joe's, though I can second what other reviewers mention - one really does not want to have to park in that HORRIBLE parking lot (not TJ's fault, but really bad) and the layout of the Pikesville store I think is tighter than some other TJ's locations (I think Kenilworth has a lot more space). Still, it's the TJ's we have in Pikesville, their staff are always knowledgeable and friendly and willing to help (even last week as they were mostly trying to deal with electrical issues affecting the store lighting and I was trying to ask an arcane question about canned Alaska salmon), and they keep well stocked those generally great TJ's products I and lots of others adore. I'm particularly partial to their dolmas, which I always keep on hand for snacking (who knew that rice-stuffed grape leaves were so good). read more

Finally decided to drive 20 minutes to purchase and check out their Everything but the Bagel seasoning. Came on a Thursday morning maybe. I was able to find parking right out front. I looked around for a bit for the seasoning and a register woman helped me find the spice area. She also assisted me with checking out and was really nice. I walked out for 3 different seasonings. I tried the EBTB seasoning over a poached egg, salmon, avocado on an english muffin that i made and it was pretty good. Gave the sandwhich a slight salty and crunchy taste. So I still love this TJ's especially during Covid. They've been great with monitoring capacity, there's sanitizer at the cash register, and all of the team members have on masks and gloves. Sometimes there's a wait to get in but it's so worth it! I love how the team members wipe down the carts before giving them to the customers. This TJ location is ALWAYS a great experience. M The only drawback is the shared parking lot. There is rarely a time when parking spaces are "close" the the entrance. However, with the closure of Pier 1, the parking situation has gotten better. The carts are sanitized outside and handed to you as you enter the store. The produce is constantly being purchased and replenished (always fresh). The store/franchise has a money back or replacement item guarantee if you are dissatisfied with your purchase. I have never had an issue of any sort at this location. The staff are ALWAYS willing to help you find items for which you are searching. read more

The layout is similar to others I've been to and the service was truly top notch. Had some great banter with multiple employees which made the experience that much more pleasant. This is my fav TJ's. Everyone is always so friendly and they always are willing to help. They always greet you with a smile and ask if there is anything you are looking for in particular. Though this location is busy I never feel overwhelmed when walking in. Most customers are respectful of space and the lines never have a long waiting period. They always have fresh produce, meats, cheese, dairy and veggies. If something is not in stock they will let you know what day it will be arriving again. I love all the flowers and plants they have and it just brightens my day seeing them. They also have sample tastings of popular new items which is nice because you can try something you were on the fence about easily. Overall I think Trader Joe's in Pikesville is a must go to! Ps. During COVID they are taking extra measures to secure the safety of customers and employees. read more

One thing to know about Teader Joes....they are a tease. Lol. Their seasonal items will turn you into a horder. Lol. This winter season they had a magnificent Ginger Brew (Ginger beer but 100 times better) and Gingerbread cookies with a white chocolate coating. If you are a ginger fan, these items are edible joy. In October, I really stocked up on these pandemic comforting snacks. Late December, I'd notice that I was windling down on my inventory. I went to this Trader Joe's, anticipating my reup. I walked around and couldn't find either item. I met a staff member named Danielle. I explained to her my plight. She smiled and shared that both items were best selling seasonal products. Not only were they sold out but there were no more coming. Danielle felt my disappointment and showed me around the store. She took me to the ginger beer section and told me about the different kinds and recommended the ginger beer that was closest to the ginger brew. She then took me to the cookie section and showed me all the different ginger cookies that were Trader Joe's staples. Again she pointed out the brand that was closest to the seasonal cookies. I purchased with her recommendations. I share this story because Trader Joe's is not just a grocery store. It is a community of staff members who know their product, and care enough to pause to ensure a memorable experience. I absolutely love Trader Joe's. I cannot believe that I have lived near a few of them for so many years and never really shopped there. I probably went there once years ago and never returned. It was not until last year that it became my go to grocery store. Now, I cannot get enough of it. For this to be a smaller store, there are some really great finds in all departments. I specifically love the frozen food section, where a variety of my meal planning takes place. I can purchase a week's worth of frozen food items, create a meal plan and make dishes that become all my own. Most of the desserts are very good as well. While I do not find everything appealing, I do like most of their merchandise. Just from the frozen food section alone, an impressive meal from appetizers to dessert can be prepared for entertaining. For so many years I thought their prices were on par with Whole Foods, but I was wrong. Make sure to go when it is not so crowded. Sometimes this little store can be so crowded that it is difficult to peruse the aisles to locate another great find. read more

For all of you Baltimore Natives, this use to be Sutton Place Gourmet. I like this Trader Joe's mainly because of the parking. They have the typical lineup of fresh-baked bread and pastries, a full line of prepared cold foods, freshly cut meat, frozen seafood and poultry, domestic and imported cheeses, homemade pasta, candies, fresh-cut flowers and more. Trader Joe's . My go to after Aldi. First. I hate the parking lot. With a passion. You have to watch for cars exiting spaces and people jumping out from everywhere without warning. Next good luck on even getting a space ! Anyway this store is heaven for items that you did not know that you needed and basics too. The faves are not usually in stock so get here either when they first open or just before close or strangely on Friday evenings. Expect to encounter things that make you want to smack AND kiss somebody randomly. Just risk everything and get here. Went to grab some Low glycemic agave syrup and organic peanut butter. They had them both but Trader Joe's isn't worth it in my opinion. Negatives: 1. Getting in and out of the parking lot even on non-peak hours is dangerous. Take your time when walking and driving. People zip in and out of that parking lot due to other stores also drawing a crowd. (I.e, AT&T, Chipotle). The design of the parking lot is a one way in and one way out type of situation. 2. The store isn't big enough to handle its traffic. People always seem to be in the way and the aisles are sooooo small and tight. I had to move several customers carts when they just abandoned them on the hunt for food. Positives: 1. The flower section is heavenly. I wish they had a cashier right next to the door because I would come to buy flowers and bounce. 2. Customer service is friendly and for that they win. I love to eat healthy! Changed my eating habits in 2012 after too much weight gain. Unbelievably though I never walked in Trader Joes before. Ive walked past almost 100 times though. I went in one Monday and fell in love. The fruit was beautiful and the prices were awesome! Where have you been all my life I picked up cherries, corn, granola, bananas just to name a few. Also picked up some watermelon cucumber cooler made with organic watermelon juice. So awesome! This is my new go to for snacks, fruits and veggies. I do love this store. I despise the parking lot. Shopping here just makes meal prep so much easier for my family of 6. I do recommend the Pork Carnitas, black beans, corn tortillas, and brown rice for a quick and easy meal. My kids will only eat TJ yogurt and Apple Cereal bars. The employees are usually helpful and will check the back if there is an item unavailable on the shelf. The most delicious thing I have ever eaten from there is the chocolate babka. i find the prices are reasonable on most items and comparable to the larger grocery chains. I always get almond milk, oj, eggs and butter from TJ - costs less and tastes better than other stores. The flowers are a must buy. They are fresh, plentiful and affordable. This Trader Joe's usually has a nice selection of quality foods as well as all natural cleaning products. I love that there's always something to sample. Some of these things I may not have thought about trying. Another plus are the many fresh flowers/plants at wonderful prices. I also love their staff! They are super friendly and helpful. They know the products and can help you find what you need or something similar. Another added bonus is if yo try something you don't like you can return it even if you've consumed it all! This helps me to be even more adventurous with foods or products I probably wouldn't try. I love this place because I can get all fresh vegetables and organic items.. I've tried so many things here I never thought to try. This place makes me a gourmet chef with ease!
