I've been here 8.6 million times and cannot believe I'm just doing a review years later! I like Fresh Market because it's just that, a market with a lot of fresh items! I particularly like to shop at the service deli. This is somewhere I go often for lunch because I like their cold and their hot deli items. They have a beautiful meat department that hubby and I shop on the weekends when time permits. We love their fresh roast options. The staff here are always kind in each department and helpful. The cashiers are always eager and ready to assist you as soon as they see you walking remotely near check out. Fresh market shares a parking lot with Starbucks and a liquor store. The parking lot is suitable for all three businesses. I highly recommend this market to anyone in the area who can appreciate complete meal freshness and great customer service. read more

Every time I give this place another chance I regret it. Tried to do an online order, but the app wasn't working -the part where you let them know that you're there and ready to pick your items up. So I called the store and let them know I had arrived. No one came out after 20 minutes, so I called again. Someone in the bakery department answered and told me they would let them know I was there. No response for some time after that either , so I locked my car and proceeded to head in the store and that's when they decided to come out with my order, with no reasonable excuse for the delay. I guarantee you if I wouldn't have called to remind them they would've never come out . No point in ordering curbside when you have to walk into the store yourself . Honestly, the fish rots from the head. I suggest they make some changes at the management level . If you can't properly perform a service then don't offer it. The best way to describe this place is a pretty train wreck. Do better. read more

Don't buy their pound cakes ... we bought one over the weekend. Pound cakes are supposed to be moist with a thickness in cutting. You know you're getting a cake with denseness. Not this one - DRY and NOT MOIST AT ALL! Terrible ... also, we noticed on Day 2, cutting the pound cake into slices, some of the slices literally fell apart. We have a strong suspicion that these cakes might have been frozen, thawed for sale, then re-frozen and re-labeled for sale again. That might explain the poor quality seen in slicing the pound cake. We contacted their Customer Care Office (Corporate) who were unwilling to offer a substitute product at no additional cost to us . So, not only was the pound cake bad, so was their corporate customer service. It's obvious to us, this company is not interested in repeat business and we'd question the quality of any of their baked goods, based on this experience. Also, we can't understand how they get a Number 1 grocer rating from USA Today subscribers. We'd guess they might only get a few votes that are positive with the negative ones never sent in. read more

The service sucks! If there aren't employees lounging around the bakery, you sure can't find anyone that works behind the meat and seafood counters. I was waiting at the meat/butcher counter when a lady said she would send help. This guy storms up with his food (I'm assuming he was on a break) he yells what can I get you from the other end of the counter. I wait until he comes closer to answer. I've been a Fresh Market shopper for years, at lots of stores in many cities. I just visited this Fresh Market location when I was searching for a few last ingredients I needed for a dinner party last week. The store is an average size for a Fresh Market (I've always found them small but mighty - small but with an amazing selection, given the size) and stocked with similar products. I've always appreciated their meat and fish counter (so much larger and better stocked than the average grocery store), but the service at the fish counter was kind of a bad experience for me on this visit last week. The staff at the fish counter was really unhelpful and maybe a little unfriendly (maybe he was just having a bad day, but he was only answering questions in yeses and nos and short sentences). They also seemed to only have what you see in front of you (I wanted a pound of deskinned salmon, but they only had serving size portions with the skin on, and I was told that they have a policy of not de-skinning any fish and that they didn't have any salmon not already portioned into filets), so I ended up leaving without salmon and going elsewhere. The customer service at checkout was great however, so three stars! I would go again, but it certainly wasn't my best Fresh Market experience. read more

A very dirty looking and obviously disgruntled employee in the Meats area made my experience at this Fresh Market a disappointing experience. I stood there for a few minutes...waiting....nobody behind the glass would come out and help me. They were laughing and talking. Helping a customer was the last thing they wanted to do. Finally, this dirty looking man with hair coming out of his hair net came out. He didn't say a word. I finally just told him the meat that I wanted. He turned his back, walked around a bit and then slowly got the meat. He wrapped it terribly and put the cooking instructions on so that I couldn't read them...made sure they were wrinkled and unreadable. He didn't say "Thank You"....just turned his back and skulked back where he leaned against a wall completely useless. I spoke with the manger, who could have cared less. Stopped in to grab some flowers. First time here. Literally everything looked super fresh. Prices were not bad at all. Tons of organic items and fresh cool pressed drinks. Deli section was well stocked with a variety of options. I grabbed pasta and broccoli salad for the week. Paper bags are offered but I had my own bag. Fresh Market is out of our primary shopping area, but we manage to hit it about every month or so...we have several doctors' office in the immediate area of the market...and whenever we have a doctor's appointment, we stop into the market and shop. It has daily and weekly meal specials and for a little as $20.00, one can get a meal for four. It has a nice selection of fresh meat and seafood and It also has sandwiches and snacks for those "on the run". COVID19 procedures are enforced. read more

This store used to be a good place to grab some lunch - they had a decent selection of pre-made sandwiches and the like, and they had a counter where you could custom order a sandwich... Sometimes it took a little while to get your stuff, but it was still plenty convenient. Unfortunately, the ability to custom-order stuff is apparently gone, and the pre-made sandwiches are pretty much always the same 4 types of wraps and a roast beef sub. Next to these are overpriced salads and some pizza that needs to be cooked (not great for lunch when at work, eh?). I don't understand it, because the Towson location just opened and makes custom sandwiches and makes available tons of other pre-made ones. Basically, this store is now just an overpriced grocery store that sells some semi-unique items (I can get most of them at Wegman's, though, and for a lower price!). read more

There were no major complaints about the store. I will honestly say it is a little on the expensive side. They sold some of the same products in LIDL but for cheaper and I mean like $1-2 difference. I was here early in the morning when they first opened. It was not a lot of foot traffic. The market was clean but there was not a lot of lighting. Going though the aisles there was a lot of dim light. LOL I really needed the light to be more brighter so I can read the back of the labels. I need to make sure that everything that I buy is gluten free. I will probably just skip this market overall and go to LIDL or Aldi where it is much cheaper. Customer service was great but I need great prices. Being gluten free is already expensive enough. read more

Only docked a point because it can be pretty pricey- but the quality of the items that are available are excellent! Two favorites: At the prepared food station, you can get a family-sized dinner for like $20, which includes 6 corn muffins, 2 sides, and a rotisserie chicken! Great deal. I will come back to the floral section again and again (and again)! The ready-to-go bouquets are always fresh and beautiful, and I've ordered a bouquet for a wedding shower here that was just gorgeous (and great service to boot)! My dad loves this store (he goes the the one in Annapolis) so I decided to try it out. Went for the Crab Cake Sandwich Family Meal. They were out of almost all of the sides. They put some fruit (which I didn't want) to replace the corn they didn't have and was rudely told I couldn't get anything other than that. I would have left all of it there but I had promised my grandfather who was visiting crab cakes. Staff wasn't very friendly or helpful. They have really good pastries which is what gave them the two stars. I think I'll stick with Wegmans. read more

I have been here once or twice before. I'm not a fan of their overall prices, but they do have a good deal each week - the Little Big Meal. It feeds a family of four for $20. In my case, I feed six since my little ones don't each big plates. You get a full meal to prepare and a dessert. Great deal. What wasn't a great deal was the beef and cheddar sandwich I purchased for a quick lunch. It was nearly frozen when I bit into it. Oh, but I was so hungry that I ate half of the icy samdwich. I'll have to leave the other half out to defrost before I can eat it. This sandwich cost $6.99. No chips, no pickle, no drink and it's not even sub size. I work in The Quarry and go to Fresh Market for lunch several times a week. More often than not, the lunch case is empty, with zero lunch packs. Today it was the same. That's twice this week. And twice last week. This has been going on for over a year, I end up wasting my entire lunch break and have nothing to eat because this store cannot properly stock itself. I have spoke to to the manager several times and I have called several times. And still it's the same. If I go at 1030 am, it's empty. Go at lunch time, it's empty. Go in the afternoon and it's empty. I'd go before work but they aren't open before work. I'm done with this store. I would advise anyone to go elsewhere. read more

After shopping here on a handful of occasions I can safely say that this store has some of the worst customer service that I've ever encountered. The staff at the deli is rude, intentionally take a very long time to prepare your orders and pretend to not hear you, and won't change their gloves. On several occasions, I've received deli meat and cheese covered with greasy residue from the employees' gloves on the outside of the bags. Even the cashiers are standoffish. Two nights ago, an employee named Kai checked me and my wife out in utter silence with an angry scowl on her face. She did not say hello, say the total price, say goodbye, or even thank you. The only thing she did was hand me my bag with an angry look. I would have assumed this was because she may have been busy, however, there were no other customers in line. Overall, the products are good but the terrible customer service does not make it worth visiting this particular location. read more

What a great store! Don't come to this store hungry or you will leave with a lot more than you had on your list. But in reality, this is a really good store with really good and fresh food and produce. Lots of healthy choices here. Yes, it can be pricey, but in some respects, many of the prices are no higher than some of its competition. I regularly shop in a variety of grocery stores, so I watch pricing wherever I go. Since this was my first visit to this store, I can't say whether or not this store has gone downhill, but as to the other negative reviews, I just didn't see it. The employees were as pleasant and helpful as they could be. Got a number of things I didn't see in other stores. Lastly, I spent over $50 and they gave me a coupon that immediately took $10 off. I was told that this is normal and not just because it was my first time there. We'll see the next time I go back when I'm back in that area visiting. Absolutely disgusted with this place and their employees, my boyfriend who was an employee here for about 6 months was physically assaulted by a store manager & a cashier on Thursday Night May 6th 2021 between 8:30 & 9pm. Police were called and took a report we are pressing charges and this can not happen again!!! This downgrade has been a long time coming. The store is so poorly managed on every level - from product not being in stock or restocked to food in the cases not seeming fresh (i.e. visible hard surface on salads when it hasn't been touched or mixed in awhile, eek!) to never having enough registers open (1 cashier working during prime after work dinner rush) and in general poor customer services from all staff. Honestly, I hate coming here and really only do so in extreme emergencies - and those few times, I die inside each time because I simultaneously remember how good it used to be and regret not driving a little bit more out of my way to give my money to a place that deserves it. read more

Regarding the Dulaney store since they're not on here . I loved this company , so much I had came back ! HORRIBLE DECISION !!!! The managers are like children , they get mad and won't speak to you , won't inform you about things going on in your department , basically acts like you don't exist. The place literally was giving me panic attacks to the point I couldn't even go back! Didn't even feel comfortable telling my team I was quitting because how could I! My own managers wouldn't speak to me ! And why you might ask? Because I had to go to HR because my MANAGER wouldn't let me go to the hospital due to me having a miscarriage while I was AT work! She was a female and has the nerve to say to me "is it that bad? You can't stay and count the money?" MAAM I AM PASSING A CHILD WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE ANSWER TO THAT?! & on top of that I reported it to HR , got a "sorry" and never heard back from them again. I have never in my life worked at a company that blatantly does not care for their workers health or even they mentality. They claim they have your back in the beginning but let something personal going on with you "inconvenience" them, it's like you died to them tbh. I pray NO ONE goes to the dulaney valley location . I'm always feeling lazy when I come here, but when I leave, I am so excited about my purchases that I can't wait to go home and cook. The produce section does that to me every time. They have the largest apples that I have seen outside of a farm. This is one of my favorite markets. I think of this place as a mini-Wegmans. This is the perfect place to come if you are throwing a party or if you are just doing your regular marketing. The deli, bakery and meat counters are superior to Whole Foods. But, the prices are about the same. I come here for the pumpernickel, which is almost impossible to find at other supermarkets that bake their own breads. The bulk nuts, spices, granola and etc. are must-visits if you're into those sorts of things. Do yourself a favor when you shop here: Bring a list and some willpower. And, don't shop here hungry. You won't buy stuff that you won't eat, but you'll easily add $20+ to your bill. Update: I've ended my search for the best burger thanks to Fresh Market. The best burger that I have ever eaten, was purchased here and grilled at home. I also purchased all of my toppings and sides here. One of the best local markets with lots of specialty items. Miss Jornay, of the Bakery Department, is incredibly helpful. She personally calls me whenever she bakes my fav cookies, Salted Caramel, so I can buy 4 boxes at a time. They are to die for! Calories? Who cares! You only live once, and they are worth every one! I love buying fresh sliced cheese here too. They use one slicer for cheese only! Very important to me. And I love all the canned and bottled seltzers you can buy. They have so many delicious, refreshing flavors. A great store for all the wonderful goodies you want and need when guests come to visit. They have a great selection of candy for all your special loved ones. From age 12 to 90, they'll love what you buy. And they've got great Halloween candy for the special kids in my life!! I really enjoy the quick run in to the fresh market. I say quick run in because if it wasn't quick I would wind up spending so much money in there buying all the yummy food. Go with a list. I like it for the fresh meat and fish. Great prices and the quality is just wonderful. Yes, you encounter you snotty I'm better than you so I'm going to take as much time as I possibly can type of people that can't make up their mind on which piece of chicken to buy.....but, oh well, run out as fast as you can after you get you delish food. The employees are so nice and always so helpful, especially behind the meat and fish sometimes I run in and grab something and they help me whip up a fast easy cheap dinner! I like to come here to find things that might be harder to find elsewhere like their veggie chips or special cuts of meat. I just did my first curbside pickup order and it was so easy to text with the shopper and then have contactless pickup into our trunk. This is a really nice store, in a really nice area. Some of the random decoration and knick knacks they sell at the store are really cute, especially in the fall when there are owl mugs and the like. The food is overall really well organized, and all looks fresh. On weekends they have 2 chickens for around $12, which is a pretty good deal when you don't want to cook for a few meals. read more

I normally divide my shopping between Harris T's and Whole Foods but I must say with the friendly service esp the meat counter I will be back to purchase a standing rib roast for Xmas from Fresh Market and will be shopping here with more frequency!! This place is expensive, BUT if you know how to shop their sales it is affordable and the meats are top quality. Best ground turkey ever... Also, you can buy bacon, and turkey bacon by the slice, which is really handy if you only need a little bacon... I know this sounds horrifying to some, but sometimes you really only need a little!! Also, I have found that all TFM (the Fresh Market) brand items (esp. the diced tomatoes) are great!! my one downfall here is that they have a great, serve yourself, candy section... many times I leave here with a little bag of jelly beans!!!! Go on Tuesdays. The chicken breast is on sale!! (2.99/lb) One other thing is the service... one time I picked up a bag of 3 mini baguettes. I only wanted one, so I took the bag to the bakery counter and they re-bagged, repriced it for just the one... its these little things that keep me coming back! read more

This place still sucks. I gave it one more chance and still a complete disappointment. Even the sample stations were COMPLETELY EMPTY TRAYS AND USED TOOTHPICKS still sitting out. Crusty tops on salads. Poorly filled deli case. Utterly disgusting for the amount of money you pay for food. If I could give ZERO stars I would. Rude nasty staff with sneers. They ruin your food as they pack it. Just completely incompetent. This place sucks. Only reason they get one star from me is because they sent me a gift card because my experiences with the staff and rancid chicken salad were awful and they felt bad. I think all the reviewers before me have said it already. The Fresh Market at Quarry Lakes is THE place to go if you're looking for something special, or if you need to obtain that special ingredient, or if you simply want the best quality meat or seafood in the area. It's really hard to walk in with a list of what's needed...because undoubtedly, you walk out with a heck of a lot more than intended.
