This CVS is about average for CVS stores. My complain is about Kimberley one of the check stand staff. She is rude every time I'm here and she's also super slow moving. She looks up to a line of 10 people and keeps moving slowly. Then calls for help (fair to do) the other staff check out 2-3 people in the time she takes for 1. Went to CVS on Bellflower in Los Altos Long Beach, my pharmacy. Late Friday afternoon. No other customers waiting, sign said WAlK INS welcome. They said they could not do a COVID booster even though I was a customer, without an appointment. Second time I had very poor service at this CVS, last time they said they did not have my prescription and it had not been called in. Called the doc it had been called in, then they said it was there. They could not find it and had to search once I went back for the second time. i will be leaving CVS. read more

WTF! I just got back from ATTEMPTING to pick up my Rx. I dropped off the prescription late this afternoon and was told it'd be ready in 1.5 hours. I came back over 2.5 hours later, waited in line for probably about 20 minutes (it seemed like forever; I should've brought a magazine or book to read while standing in line), just for them to tell me it wasn't ready yet. I'm going to get ready for a party now, so that's all I'm writing for now. Maybe I'll stop by again AFTER the party if it's much later to see if it's ready, since it is a 24 hour store. I love me some CVS CVS should stand for Customers-Verifying-Sale Prices Because everytime I go there there's a long A@@ line due to people complaining about the cost of their .99cent Bic Razors going up in price by .20 cents...OYE VAY and I thought I was a bitter Jew. Despite the long lines of complainers with coupons, old W.T. junkies, I come here when I need to pick up something I forgot to get at the previous store I was at; ICE, BEER, Birthday Cards and Vino. I'm happy that they're open 24 hours, there was a night that I had to buy a digital thermometer, Vaseline, and a heating pack for my sick guinea pig at midnight after a trip to the vet went unsuccessful. CVS was there for me and their Pharmacy Tech. was more than assertive and helpful in my panicked state. So I also picked up a bottle of BV. Coastal Cab. after giving my guinea pig a rectal temperature reading... NOTE: Usually Heather E.'s yelp reviews aren't so T.M.I. but It was quite imperative I gave you the full story! Pharmacy is the worst.worst customer service. I hate that I get my scripts here but sometimes they are the only pharmacy that has certain scripts so I have to come here. I agree with another reviewer , that it is astonishing that this location really just Doesn't care about the bad service or bad reviews or try and do something to fix this. There is one nice guy who is helpful - I think his name is Sam. That's y there is one star in this review. I always look for him wen I'm there , to make sure I don't get screwed over with costs because they never get it right with what insurance covers or doesn't and never give you the discount unless you ask , or get the right person. There was one person helping with checkout and there were 3 in the line waiting while another customer service representative (Esther) stood nearby chatting with a customer/friend about personal matters. She was asked to come help with checking out customers and she came and continued chatting with this other person while slowly opening her register. While she helped me the entire time she was STILL talking to this other person. Didn't acknowledge me at all just rang me up and asked if I wanted a bag. Maybe I'm picky but customer service was terrible. I felt like I was an interruption to her personal conversation vs. she should be doing her job if she is on the clock. read more

Review for pharmacy only...The urgent care next door faxed over my son's prescription to this crappy place this past Friday evening. I waited in a very long line only to have the very rude cashier tell me that I had to go to a different counter to give them my insurance information. I went to the other counter and waited about 20 minutes while I watched the staff goof off. When the pharmacist finally came to the counter she told me, "we don't participate in your insurance plan--go across the street to RiteAid". She never gave me the opportunity to give my insurance information and I had previously filled a script at another CVS so I knew they took my insurance. In addition, I called and spoke to the pharmacy team at that store the this morning and was told they took my insurance. To make matters worse, the pharmacy team did not answer the phone for Rite Aid. They tried several times. So, my son did not get his prescription filled for three days because they didn't answer the phone. My son is asthmatic and was miserable for three days because he didn't have the prescribed rescue medicine. read more

Consistently one of the worst stores I have experienced. If it were not for the convenience of being within walking distance of home, I'd never go there. Even with the convenience I will likely change to another pharmacy. Both on the front end and the pharmacy, the customer service is absolutely horrendous. Frowny people abound, they must have a requirement that you have to be a sourpuss to work there. The pharmacy staff is horrible, so unhappy all the time. I get continual phone calls both automated and by the staff "reminding" me that a prescription is overdue to be filled. This is after I have repeatedly asked to be taken off the auto-notice on all my prescriptions. So annoying. 75% of the time there are panhandlers or people asking for "donations" outside their doors. So annoying. They used to 24 hours, but the pharmacy hours have become less convenient as time has gone by. I've been in the store over 20 times, it never gets better. There are plenty of other pharmacies to go to. Time for a change. read more

The pharmacist at the location is extremely rude!! His name is Andrew. He threw my medication down after asking if I had ever taken the medication before, obviously not wanting to give me consultation concerning my new medication. There wasn't a long line where I could attribute his behavior to being very busy. I will find a different pharmacy in the future. CVS just lost my business!! read more

I have had NOTHING but problems with this pharmacy. They've lost my prescription (the entire prescription, I was told it wasn't on file even though I dropped the paper off the previous day, I had to have my doctor call it in!), forgot to fill it twice in one month, and then one time my doctor forgot to fill out part of the prescription and they claim she never called. I called her myself and she said she did and they never got back to her. I'm going somewhere else, I regret ever taking any of my prescriptions here. They're obvious unorganized and cannot seem to handle filling a couple of prescriptions every month for me. GOODBYE! Also, just the icing on the cake today: they're automated refill service isn't answering, nor is their store phone, and their online system gives me an error saying it can't process my prescriptions because of an internal error. I've been going to this location since before it was a CVS. sometimes they are ok and other times I want to leave them a scathing 1 star review. The store part of CVS is inconsistent. I was there recently and the manager was talking to the cashier and they completely ignored me. The conversation between them was work related but not urgent in nature. I asked to be checked out and the manager told me to wait. I almost lost my shit. Pharmacy: They have really improved over the past months. Hence 2 stars instead of one. The wait is shorter and they have more than one person checking people out when it's busy. read more

My wife and I are both on Medicare and with Kaiser Permanente. When I heard we were encouraged to get the new Omicron booster and senior flu vaccine I stopped by the pharmacy at PCH and 2nd Street in Long Beach and was told to try make the appointments online, and if the shots were covered tithe appointments would be made. If not, we could not make the appointment online. BOTH THE OMICRON BOOSTER AND SENIOR FLU SHOT WERE COVERED AND BOTH APPOINTMENTS SCHEDULED, FOR MY BRIDE OF 43 YEARS AND MYSELF. Last Sat. we received the covid booster, no problems!!! This week, well it began with a call from a pharmacist as we were getting out of our car to walk in. She explained that the flu shot was NOT COVERED and that it would cost $50 for each shot, or we could go to Kaiser. I didn't want the additional hassle of going to Kaiser so said we'd pay for the shots. We did this as we walked inside with signs advertising FREE FLU SHOTS on either side of the entrance. At the counter, we were told there had been a mistake and that each shot would be $94. I paid for the shots, choosing to avoid going to Kaiser, and looking on the whole experience for me to actually practice my stoicism, not just read about It! Thank you CVS for helping me become a better person!! But, I did think folks should know just how bad it can be! read more

This pharmacy is sooo understaffed...Shame on the CVS management! I came in on a Sunday to pick up a prescription and get a flu shot. There were four people working behind the counter and they were so busy (as usual). As I observed them, they were working their butts off, moving fast, apologizing as they went. I waited over 30 minutes. As the pharmacist gave me the injection he was apologizing. CVS your ratings at this location are low because you need to hire more help (which, based on my conversations,you've already been told by your employees). What a gem. Amazing assortment of stellar sunglasses for men especially. Super ironic Hawaiian button-downs, but available only in larger sizes. So sad. Best candy selection of any store in the area. I called the pharmacy and gave them all the information needed to have my prescription transferred over to their pharmacy. They said they would call me back when it was ready. They didn't, so I called them. They said, "Oh... the number you gave us for your pharmacy was wrong..." It wasn't. (I'm pretty sure they didn't even call). I gave them the right number. I said fuck it and transferred it to the Rite Aid next to the traffic circle on Los Coyotes instead. They completed my transfer right away and texted me as soon as it was ready! Long time visitor of this CVS for everything. It has gone down and down. Today i finally decided even the pharmacy has gone bad. Their system was down for an hour i couldn't get through and then they said that there was no voice mail from my dr. My doctor didn't make it up. And the dr had left the message hours before the system being down. Beyond that The product i bought at Christmas was old and i think they jack up prices and put them on sale. Very expensive. I prefer getting everything via mail order, but occasionally I have to go to the local retail pharmacy. There is ample parking bcs certain stalls are marked off for CVS customers only. The one thing that bothers me about this place is how slooooow the employees are - at both pharmacy pickup/check out and the store. Everyone seems so slow! The pharmacy staff might be good at what they do (filling prescriptions) but they are definitely lacking in the area of customer service. An asian lady with penciled eyebrows (I wish I jotted down her name) was the absolute worst. I asked about the status of my medications and she looked angry, did not smile, and all of her responses were (to me) very rude and short. Anyway, i left with just one of my three meds. She didn't provide details on how to remedy the situation so i'm sitting here medicineless. (I did manage to get CVS mail order to refill one. they offered to transfer my prescription to this store so i could pick up sooner and i said no thanks and explained about my negative interaction here.) Coupons lure me in Sale items are excluded I'm thinking WalMart I used to love CVS years ago, but I had to break up with them. I started going there when the pharmacy was open 24 hours, but they cut the hours down. I get coupons for 25% to 35% off, but they exclude sale items. It always seems that everything I want is marked down (just a little!), so I often end up making a trip for nothing. I'm just over them. I'm gonna be a Walmartian for awhile. read more

Just a review of the pharmacy. I decided to have my prescription sent here for convenience instead of my usual CVS after visiting the urgent care next door for a very painful ear infection a few months ago. When I got there, they asked for my insurance card which I gave them. They pharmacist yelled at me from behind the back counter that it wasn't the right card. I was confused admittedly because I do have new insurance (and the insurance card I had handed her was just used at the urgent care), but you don't just yell across the whole pharmacy at a customer. She told me that she is too busy to call my insurance and that I would have to do it myself and told me to move away from the counter so she could help other customers. read more

My primary care doctor is next door at MemorialCare so when they sent an urgent prescription to this CVS location so I could get it immediately after an appointment, I thought "Great!" That's until I actually went there. First, the girl at CVS somehow looked up the wrong information and calmly told me the prescription would cost $520.00 (This was a small bottle of eye drops.) I have insurance and the eye drops were not liquid gold so when I told her this couldn't possibly be right, she stared at me blankly. Another pharmacist came over, looked it up again, and told me it would be $10. The girl wasn't even apologetic or fazed about making such a mistake. Then I ended up waiting for 25 minutes, having to walk back to the doctor and ask them to send the prescription to the pharmacy AGAIN (ridiculous!). I finally got the prescription about 90 minutes later. As I was waiting, I remembered the one time I had been there prior several months earlier, something similar happened (they tried to tell me a medication wasn't covered by my insurance and it would be several hundred dollars). Next time I went to my doctor, she was going to send another prescription to the Bellflower/Stearns CVS. I told her what a nightmare it was and to please never send a prescription there again. She admitted that many patients have complained about the bad service and incompetence there. Bad service or long wait times are one thing, but when you are dealing with medication and people don't seem to know what they are doing (or care about making a mistake) it makes me wonder what medication I'm actually getting! It is also scary that with so many bad reviews, no one at CVS has taken it seriously enough to make any changes or provide better staff training. read more

Horrible customer service... The lady behind the counter seems like she hates life and everyone in it. I have been a loyal customer for 4 years. The pharmacy hasn't ever been a problem until about 5 months ago. They put a COMPLETELY different medication mixed into my usual meds. Which caused headaches and more mood swings then the usual lol. I maintained my optimistic view of the place until little by little they began to show how much they don't care about their job. They gave me medication I wasn't on anymore (like an old prescription or something) so I paid for it and don't even use it. They didn't call my insurance so I was almost billed 150$ for something that is usually 5$... Again out of pure laziness. They don't care about anyone! read more

Pharmacy review only: This pharmacy's staff is the rudest and most inconsistent group of pharmacists I've ever encountered. I've transferred all but one of my prescriptions to the target next door due to the unprofessional and flat out mean staff at this location. They truly seemed bothered by every customer and on multiple occasions I've watched them ridicule customers at the counter. I kept one prescription at this pharmacy because they have the medication it stock at all times, and target has to order it. After my encounter with the impatient, insensitive, and all around horrible staff today, I am now moving this prescription to target. I'd rather wait for target to order the medicine than deal with these insulting pharmacists. read more

I'm really sad this CVS pharmacy is so crappy. Even being 24 hours isn't going to make me give them another pity star. Story time (skip to the bottom for Cliffs notes.) I've never experienced a worse pharmacy. They're incredibly disorganized and amazingly rude. I've been having some health problems lately that have made me greatly anemic and my doctor had made an emergency change in my meds, which he called into this pharmacy. I specifically told my doctor to tell them that it's crucial that I had the medication by a certain time and he promised me he'd get everything sorted out for me with the pharmacy. I went to pick up the medication a few hours AFTER the agreed time, and I waited in line patiently. When I was next in line, the tech called up another woman to cut me in line because "she knew her." Everyone behind me in line just gave me incredulous looks. I decided to just wait and when they took me, I told them my situation and said that they'd spoken to my doctor earlier. That's when they informed me that they RAN OUT of my medication. I seriously felt anger just seeping out of my pores and asked them why they didn't inform my doctor when he had contacted them? They knew how important it was and yet they decided to tell my doctor it'd be ready for me, even though they didn't bother to check their supply. The tech just shrugged and said they wouldn't be able to get any for me until 2 days later. I think she could see how visibly upset I was, and she told me to wait and ran off to her computer. The whole time I'm waiting, this older gentleman next to me was complaining to another pharm tech that he had submitted a prescription for 2 meds and they only gave him 1. The tech acted so rude and cold to him, I genuinely felt bad for him. The tech helping me is now running around the whole place rifling through cardboard boxes and dropping packets of pills on the ground. I saw another pharmacist sorting through people's prescriptions and CHUCKING them (no lies, like he was playing basketball) into baskets. She finally runs up to me with my medicine and says that they actually had it the whole time. SERIOUSLY? If I hadn't have argued about my pills, I would've been sent away without them, when they actually just had them in a box. Anyway, AVOID this place for any pharmaceutical needs. You should heed the reviews and take your business elsewhere for the sake of your own health and sanity. read more

I know they have a lot of orders and people to deal with, it is still way too slow. They try to multitask too much do many people at once. Not the most efficient process for them. I was just trying to get reimbursed and it took over 20 min pushing 30. I don't know how long it should take exactly but, it was an easy process and I don't think that long with not many people around. So the next time I came in, I had to wait another 30 minutes to discuss the SAME EXACT STORY I had with the first pharmacist. I'm going to show this place a little love in this review. I've noticed that most of the negative reviews for this CVS is really just for the pharmacy itself. I can't say much for that because I get my prescription straight from Kaiser. But let me just say that convenience alone is enough to bring me to this joint. It's Sooo close AND the store is open 24/7!!! It's well stocked, and this one cashier guy there is super cool!! You also save a lot of money with their rewards card ( it's FREE go get one!!!). Perfect place to pick up some last minute essentials ya know? Anyway don't be too discouraged by all the negative reviews...this store as a whole is not bad at all :) read more

I'd give it 0 stars if I could. First, the wait was horrible. I had to wait half an hour to fill the prescription when at the other location (near 7th and Channel) is at most a 10 minute wait. But before they even had to refill it, I had to wait in line 20 minutes just to drop off the damn prescription! Second, after they filled it, they couldn't find it! Just a disorganized mess and a waste of my time! This will be the last time I go to this location for a prescription. read more
