With so many choices, why did I go here? Grumpy cashier so unfriendly and negative comments regarding our purchase...we won't be back

The worst! My son had surgery and they gave me a prescription to be filled for pain. I got him home and went to get the prescription, which he needed immediately. The pharmacist wouldn't fill it because he said the date looked like 29, not 24. It CLEARLY was 24. I asked him to call the doctor or surgery center to verify. He said I needed to go back to Newport Beach and get a new prescription because he couldn't change it. THERE WAS NOTHING TO CHANGE. IT WAS WRITTEN CORRECTLY. Finally, after getting confirmation from surgery center and doctor he filled it but put me back at the bottom of the refill line so I'm still waiting while my son needs the pain medication. Crap service and no apology. read more

This is my local pharmacy and I am very happy they are! I want to specifically mention Brenda, the pharmacist. She has always been extremely helpful to my entire family for years! One particular time was when Brenda was so patient and comforting when my college aged daughter who is terrified of needles had to get a vaccine. Brenda is extremely knowledgable and trustworthy and I have always had good experiences with all of the pharmacy techs as well! read more

Just transferred all my prescription to Target this morning because of what happened: Got a blood sugar testing device a few months ago, cvs pharmacist noticed my doctor prescribed the wrong lancet, and fixed it right away. That was great. A few months passed, prescription needed to be renewed. The cvs person handling this gave me the wrong lancet, I didn't notice until I tried to use it and it won't fit. I brought the lancet back to cvs to try to exchange for the right one. Associate asked me for receipt, I said I didn't keep the receipt as I had no intention to return / exchange my medication. She refused to exchange for me because lack of receipt. I was enraged, number one they are the one who gave me the wrong lancet, two, they system have records of all my purchases. I don't understand why a lack of receipt should matter in my case? I told her well it would have been very cheap for cvs to fix this mistake (lancet only costs $10 at most). But because of your refusal and horrible customer service, I am switching to target. Then she said you can come back tomorrow and talk to the manager for possible exchange. I don't think this assistant understands the definition of customer service. So I left and called target before I even reached my car. 15 mins later, the cvs assistant called me and apologized and offer to fix the situation. I told her it's too late I already called target to transfer everything. I hope she will not mistreat another customer and learned a lesson from this. If you let a customer walk out angry, they probably won't be your customer anymore. Her mistake just costs cvs $3200 a year in business. It's extremely expensive to attract new customer, best strategy is to keep your existing customers, esp I have been with cvs for over 10 years and have 3 monthly prescriptions!!! read more

Well, I won't be going to that pharmacy again. I was at the minute clinic (literally right next to the pharmacy in the store), who gave me a prescription for two cough medications. The prescriptions were both sent electronically to the pharmacy, but I handed hard copies to them just in case they hadn't received it yet. The staff got into what seemed like an unnecessary and loud argument with the lady ahead of me, so they were super distracted when they gave me my medication. Usually somebody comes to tell me how to take the medication, what my dosage is, etc., but this lady didn't say a word and just checked me out. I didn't think any thing of it because I was sick and just wanted to get out of there myself, but of course when I get home I realize I only have *one* of prescribed medications. When I called the pharmacy to ask about it, the woman on the phone, Tracy (who was the same person who got in the argument with that other customer), blamed the Minute Clinic for always sending them just one prescription -even though I handed them the physical copies for both drugs. Then when I told her what the drug was she said, "Oh, that's an over-the-drug, you don't need a prescription for that. Somebody was supposed to tell you that. You can pick that up anywhere." Okaaayyy? It would have been nice if any of the four staff I interacted with could have told me that! At least an apology would have been nice, but instead I felt like she totally brushed me off and treated me like I was stupid for not knowing that.. I don't expect stellar service or something when I go to the pharmacy -they are usually pretty run-of-the-mill interactions, but some competency would be nice. Nobody needs the extra headache when they already aren't feeling well. read more

I use to love this pharmacy and have been a regular customer since they opened. When I tried to use a coupon given to me by my doctor for a medicine that for some reason they want $1,300.00 for 100 pills the young man at the pharmacy said "I'm sorry management told us we can't accept those anymore". I asked why they don't accept it when it clearly shows CVS as a participating pharmacy? He couldn't give me an answer. I had my doctor call another pharmacy close by and they accepted the coupon no problem and said they will keep it on file for a year so I can use it for all refills. My cost after the coupon $14.00! Try being less greedy with people's lives and Heath CVS. You lost another long standing customer. You should be ashamed.. read more

Came into today to grab some things and could not find a item, So i went up to the front check out counter to ask for help and when i asked the female employee she was rude and said " No we dont carry that and theres a line, thanks". I walked out the store immediatly becouse i dont give anyone my hard earned money that treats a costumer rudly. Employee had white shirt and looked like she was in her 30's with dark red hair. yeah if you see her i sugest going to another register. read more

I think a lot of people confuse this cvs with the one up the street.Compared to the other locations in irvine this is , by far, the best location. The pharmacy is excellent! If you have a bad experience it's because your insurance company refuses to do whatever it is...don't take it out on them. The front store is also great. They have some issues keeping things in stock but they're always busy... Which is a big change from 6 years ago when no one knew they existed and I felt like I was the only customer. They let me get away with expired coupons, returning makeup that wasn't the right color, and always helpful finding items. read more

It's funny to write a review for a drugstore, but this CVS is awesome. The entire staff is so nice, friendly and helpful. The pharmacy is well stocked and efficient. The store always has what I need. I tend to run in there to avoid the grocery store sometimes. I find prices and sales on items great! And I actually use my coupons there. read more

Awesome customer service from Guy! He had so much energy and positive vibes.

I like CVS, they seem to have what I need at any given time. This particular time I just happened to drop by to see if they had Santa hats and Bamm--Santa hats in 3 different variations. You see that what CVS is all about. Not to mention the club savings I'm always getting. Their most valued daily items always seems to be on sale. I love the fact that I can walk in, get what I want, and save a lot. The best part about shopping at CVS is their rewards program. Either it's at the checkout stand, by email or even the post office mail. Their is always something to be rewarded with and the savings isn't just a few pennies...it's huge. 30% here, 25% there...and you can even use 2 savings code at every checkout. What is there not to love about CVS. read more

this cvs pharmacy is straight up trash which is unfortunate because its the closest pharmacy to me. ive had to come 3 days in a row and all 3 days ive had the same issues - their systems don't sync, the automated text messages aren't accurate, and for whatever reason they don't ever receive prescriptions from my doctors even after i've confirmed that its been sent. numerous times i've waited in the pick up line to then be sent to some other line because the other computer can pull up my information but the other one in the pick up line can't for whatever reason. ive also been sent texts that my prescription is ready when they're not - this is totally fine and i understand tech isn't perfect and there are going to be glitches etc but what you don't want is a rude pharmacist with terrible customer service skills. she refused to listen to me and instead wanted to send me off and wait for my prescription even though the text message said that my prescription was READY. i even tried to show her the text but she was way too ignorant to look. she was also coughing up a storm yesterday and today which was gross - she should not have been at work this week. awful. switching pharmacies even if i have to drive a bit further. read more

This CVS is well organized, clean, and large, with a good stock of your average drug store stuff. They also keep a decent seasonal area stocked. The staff may make you feel uncomfortable. Some are overly friendly and ask personal questions, and I once heard the cashier inform a customer waiting in line that the hold up was that the customer in front of her was waiting for her "Plan B" pill to get delivered from the back. It was like straight out of a sitcom. Pro tip - use the self-check out kiosks, and get in and out. read more

I don't understand why this CVS was built considering there was already a store down the street from way back when. Good layout, clean and friendly employees. I find it funny how most of the alky is now tagged with security pins on the caps. read more

I'll be completely honest by saying I use CVS for booze. I rarely go in for anything else so that's primarily what my review is based on. On that note, they have a very small variety of beer, and no Guinness! Boooo! The prices are slightly higher than Rite-Aid by a buck here or there and the staff are friendly. The beer selection, not as friendly. There are a few isles of wine, but wine isn't beer. There is also other stuff they sell but that other stuff isn't more beer. read more

A normal cvs, found what I need and easily. The lines to take some time though since it sometimes has only 1 cashier working. I went there a few times and i noticed this tattooed lady that works there is kind of rude and seems like she does not care to work there or deal with anyone. HOWEVER, hope was restored on my recent visit where a employee or manager by the name of "Russ" was quickly cashing people out with a smile and some enthusiasm. He would make small funny jokes about the products that people were buying which left them with a smile. He was awesome, not so much for the tattoo lady! read more

I woke up today with a swollen eye and went to urgent care. The doctor prescribed me a tube ointment for my eye to help with the infection and I went to this CVS for the prescription. The pharmicist asked me when I would like to pick it up and I told her "As soon as possible today" since I have work the next day. She said she would call me when it is ready for pick up. I waited all day for the phone call, and (my fault) completely forgot to check the store hours. By the time I finally got tired of waiting and called to check on it, the pharmacy had closed. For a tube ointment, it took them more than 5 hours to prepare. Moreover, they did not call me like they promised. Now I will have to show up at work with a swollen infected eye. I am more than disappointed with the service. They took my prescription and the doctor's office is closed. There is no resolution for this. I will never go here again for any prescription. read more

The problem with this place is the slow service. They have a good selection of products, but I've been there probably 20 times and every time it takes a SUPER long time just to buy my stuff and leave. I just go here because it's close to where I live and it's convenient. I'll walk into the store and see someone at the counter buying stuff. I'll shop around the store and just look at random items. Then when I finally want to check out, that same person is still being rung up by the cashier. Nearly every time. It seems like it's store policy to ring up customers as a slow as possible. read more

We order a desperately needed breathing treatment at this CVS every month. It is ordered by us when we open the third and final bottle out of the carton. This is within plenty of time for them to get the medication. 60% of the time they neglect to re-order it and we are scrambling to find the drug so my husband won't die of suffocation. Many times they say it will be ready at a certain time and when I call to prior to picking it up, they say they don't even have it in the store!! I wish we had other options. read more

It's 9:39PM. I feel strongly compelled to leave a review tonight. With BevMo being closed, I decided to give the local CVS (that I frequently visit) my business. I picked up my usual case of Lagunitas and checked out. I was greeted by a less-than enthusiastic manager in training named Daniel who took my ID to verify my eligibility to purchase alcohol. I professionally showed him that I was of legal age. I'm turning 31 in a couple days here! He subjected me to what seemed to be an eternity of looking down at my ID card and then back up at me. He then started to chuckle- calling the nearest associate over, "Hey, does this look like him?" "The nose isn't right, huh?". Okay, now this has turned into a scene. I thought he was joking the entire time, but guess what? The joke was on me. He took my beer and placed it behind the counter, drawing out this long explanation as to why I should go to the DMV sometime to take a better picture. Man, how embarrassing. I felt extremely humiliated in front of the several customers who had just witnessed this behind me. They looked perplexed. My second item was a twix bar for my girlfriend; which I decided to return moments later, due to the sheer principle of choosing where I do business the next time. It's obvious that it won't be here. To anyone I know, I'll definitely refer them to a different location or a different business entirely. I'm a sales manager with a good amount of customer service accolades under my belt. I train people like him to go above and beyond for the customer. This was the complete opposite of what I stand for. I'll be contacting the proper channels because I feel so strongly about how unfairly I was treated. Wow what a shame! Until you can lead by example, don't bother coaching your staff, Daniel. I went to the farther CVS location at 14330 Culver and got my beer from a helpful associate named Sue. Loyalty phone lookup was down and she hooked me up with the member price. They are racist jerks. Watch out for the cashier Keeryan. My parents and I had some questions about rewards​ cash and coupons but he was extremely rude and kept yelling at us for no apparent reason. He constantly shouted "I don't get what you are saying," and "what do you want now!" He made my parents feel worthless since he was making fun of their accented but fluent English (they received their education at Stanford and Princeton, and they have been living here for more than 30 years). He was racist and aggressive without provocation. I told him to stop yelling; yet, instead of stopping, he became even more aggressive. Other than this experience, they have a terrible selection of products, an unhelpful manager, misleading coupons and rewards system. When I tried to complain, the manager just brushed me off. Nevertheless, the most insulting and demeaning experience is the racism my family and I encountered at the check out counter. I will never come back again. read more

Brenda in the Pharmacy was able to assist me when I went in today with an issue with a prescription. Handled it urgently and properly. Exactly how it should be. I was in an out in a matter of minutes. Never had any issues here. There's another Asian who is studying for her Pharmacy degree with a very short 3 letter name. Wish I could remember her but she was extremely helpful when dealing with my awkward insurance. She never acted as if I was taking away from her day or she didn't have enough time to deal with me. Keenan and Brandon working in the main store always make me feel welcome. Greeting me instantly by name when I walk in. And we always have a good talk during checkout. This is the closest convention store to my house so i'm in here often; and for the people hating on how certain products are not in stock. They have sells weekly, and when you shop these sales you get really good deals for example, everybody took a photo of the fridges. They had vitamin waters for like 75 cents each. Arizonas 50 cents each. They are always running promotions and if you happen to catch them at an end of a good promotion, they may be out of product even if they over order which I'm sure they do. I never see the store manager, except for maybe today, when I was getting my Pharmacy issue handled. Thanks for being #1 ! read more

Store is cluttered and isn't stocked as well as other CVS's. Maybe because the boxes are in aisle rather than on the shelves? Long line forming, one person to ring up and manager continues to stock by line?? Only good thing seems to be dude at register with pony tail that is friendly and talks with customer. read more

I called the pharmacy 10 minutes before 9pm as I was less than 3 min away to ensure my prescription was still ready and spoke with an extremely rude woman named Lauren. I understand I was calling right before they were closing so they she gave an impression that I was bothering her. As I tried to confirm I was calling the right location, she cut me iff immediately and asked for my date of birth. Her tone was extremely rude and her lack of customer service was atrocious! I feel so bad for this CVS because usually everyone in the store AND pharmacy are wonderful. I have to take high blood pressure medication and she was arguing with me when I drove up to the pick-up window, that she was. Ot being rude. I asked if she was calling me a liar, which caused my blood pressure to go up pretty quickly! CVS claims their pharmacy team cares about customers but they don't give a crap about anyone. Lauren has no business being in the pharmacy area as she lacked care, concern and empathy for sick customers. Thank goodness for Jonathan, the store supervisor and Brian for demonstrating the excellent service I had come to appreciate from this store as they did their best to calm me down and diffuse my frustration and anger! I got the impression that Lauren has received complaints before and its truly a shame that she is still allowed to serve customers so disrespectfully! I do plan on making a more formal complaint on what happened tonight as no one should be treated to rudely and unkindly. read more

I don't see why there is all the hate. It's an OK place. I went there to buy a Monster Energy drink (lo-carb, mind you) after gorging on Korean food next door. I needed it so that I could stay awake for the long drive back home. The drink was nice and cold and I was able to self check-out in a matter of minutes. A dude behind the counter asked if I was doing OK and I said no problems here. I would go there again. read more

I went to the Minute Clinic on 01/24 with a respiratory problem. I was seen by a nurse practitioner. I have Medicare and Suplemental insurance. I received a bill for $ 139 because they say my insurance did not cover the visit. I called and checked on line Medicare and the did not have records of my visit. I called the minute Clinic billing department. The first time I was on hold 20 minutes and had to hang up. The next time I waited 39 minutes to talk to somebody that told me they had sent the bill with the wrong number and they will send it again. I spent one hour on the phone on hold with them, 25 minutes with Medicare on hold plus all the aggravation because the billing department made a mistake but they didn't have a problem telling me that Medicare refused to pay before they look and see that they made the mistake. I will never again go to the minute clinic. Patients don't deserve this treatment. The nurse was ok . read more

let's play "shirlock holmes" here and solve the mystery together. maybe you can enlighten me with what happened at this cvs...ready? 9:45am - i drop off my prescription on the way back from my doctor. 12 noon - i come back to pick up my medicine on my way to lunch. 12:10pm - one person acknowledges me and asks for an id and prescription (which they had to have it since i dropped it off at 9:45am). 12:13pm - another person comes by and asks for the same thing. 12:20pm - the first person comes back and says he can't find my medicine. he asks for my prescription so he can re-fill my medicine. i asked him "with what? i don't have the prescription from my doctor. you have it." he just turns around and walks away. 12:26pm - the second person comes back and tells me to pay and move over to the other line so the pharmacist can tell me about the medicine. so i move to the other line. 12:28pm - the first guy comes back and says "where were you? I've been looking all over for you. can you get your doctor to re-write the prescription". i say "no!" and completely ignore him. and i go through a temporary amnesia and forget to tell that my medicine is ready. 12:38pm - the pharmacist finally comes over and tells me to take the medicine 3x a day...blah blah blah. so what the f*ck just happened here? how did my medicine just magically show up? how did they keep me there for almost 40 minutes? and really, how did i manage not to say "screw you" and walk out? being sick brought out the best of me, patience and maturity. i feel sorry for the other customers there since i was constantly sneezing and they couldn't avoid but inhale the germ fested air. btw, this wasn't the first time i tested my humanly manners at this cvs. time after time, i forgive them and come back. maybe i need to stop...and they need to stop this bullsh*t!!! read more

For those who like to complain about the hours! The actual store is open Monday-Friday 7-10 and the PHARMACY hours are open from 8am-9pm. Saturday from 9am-6 pm and Sunday from 10-6! Hope that's clear to you all! I guess some people are more understanding than others. In the pharmacy it's takes time and effort to get things done for all customers they are NOT JUST COUNTING PILLS! I get so frustrated when I'm waiting there and people get upset about things that are completely out of the pharmacy staff hands and make comment like "don't you know how to do your job!?" Well why don't you apply and get behind that counter if you think you can do better! I love all the staff there they are great they always tried hard to solve any issues I have! Ok, the pharmacy here is a complete circus, no surprise there; I've learned cvs sucks, pretty much anywhere. Really, there has to be a better way. Can someone introduce some competent people to this place, who can establish some semblance of order?! Already, the hours listed are wrong. The are not open till 10, ever. I told them months ago maybe they ought to look into making this clear on their website, and Yelp. Nope. Also, I get that it's Easter and not everywhere is open. So I call. After selecting pharmacy the robot on the phone says everyone in the pharmacy is busy, and I'll be connected to the next representative. I'm on hold about ten minutes. I begin to suspect no one is going to pick up the phone. So I call back to inquire about the hours of the pharmacy today. I am told, "10 am to 6 pm." Alright I'm getting somewhere. I decided I'd just go in, even though I wanted to get some insurance info sorted out on the phone first so I wouldn't have to do it there. Anyway I show up, the pharmacy is closed, nobody home. Really?? The icing on the cake is they have their automated system still up and running in there; I can hear "one pharmacy call...two pharmacy calls..." Those poor souls on the phone waiting for their meds. No one will answer, no one cares. Now, my situation is ridiculous, considering I came in to pick up my scrips yesterday, and some GENIUS told me my insurance was cancelled, or rejected. Handed me some bogus printout, that gave me no info whatsoever. I leave a bit flustered, this girl was so supremely unhelpful and impatient I decide to just figure out the insurance at home and come back later. After calling my insurance, I'm told that not only is my insurance active and working, there is no claim in their system to prove the pharmacy made any attempt to verify the information! So I didn't get my meds because someone was to lazy or ignorant to know how to check. This level of ineptitude is just astounding. I only ever chose this place for the convenience of the drive through, but it's honestly not worth dealing with the idiocy. read more
