This review is for the pharmacy. There was a negligent error made by staff that almost cost me $1200. I had a prescription for a medication refill come through on day 26 of a 28 day supply. I was called that same day on the 30th by pharmacy staff stating my insurance denied the refill because it was "too soon." I had an intuitive feeling this wasn't the case. Insurances don't give refills once your nose is to the grindstone, giving a small window of time to have the pharmacy prepare the order and ensure they have it in stock. I asked for the pharmacy to please run the medication again the following morning. I communicated very clearly that as of Jan 1 my prescription would no longer be covered by my insurance. $1200 is the out of pocket cash price. It was imperative I get my prescription on the 31st. She was aware of this. She said she would leave a note. The morning of the 31st I was out running errands. I decided to go down to the pharmacy in hopes of waiting. I couldn't spend another stressful day wondering what was going on, taking a gamble on getting my medication in time. I knew there was absolutely no way my prescription would be denied one day before it was finished. I'm not ignorant, and this isn't my first time filling this medication. The girl at the counter recognized my name on the prescription, "this is the one where we couldn't fill because it was too early? We have your item here". She tried to run the prescription. Came back with the "they're still telling me it's too soon." After trying to explain to her that this is impossible, showing her on my phone it had been one day short of 4 full weeks since I had gotten it refilled, and again communicated the urgency, I got the spiel that there's nothing they can do to force it through. Brick wall, no checking details, no attempt to problem solve. I suggested I call them, she agreed. I asked for a copy of the insurance rejection paper after she offered. I went outside and called my insurance, I called the number on the paper the pharmacy provided me. My Insurance insured me that they would be happy to refill my item. It was NOT too soon. She said it was specifically missing a code entered into the pharmacy computer from the prescription (provided by the doctor) in order to move forward. She gave me the name of the code rejection. I looked at the paper provided to me from the pharmacy, and very CLEARLY saw it stated the code as the reason for rejection. Nothing about it being too soon. The insurance let me know I was given misinformation, and this code must be entered to get filled. She said if the prescription was missing this code, its the pharmacies duty to call the doctor and get it. How did they not catch this? Aren't they trained to notice these important details? They run people's insurances as part of their basic structural job function! I'm livid! I went back in the pharmacy and got the girls attention who originally helped me. I told her exactly what my insurance said. She knew what code I was talking about. I pointed out on the paper she provided that very CLEARLY says the CODE was the reason for rejection. She prints up the original prescription and starts typing stuff in the computer. Didn't say a word to me, just typed. I asked her directly if the code they needed was on there and was in fact provided by the doctor to begin with. She said yes. Then let me casually know that they can have my prescription ready for me in 10 minutes. Yay me right? I maintained my composure and stayed polite the entire interaction, because my objective was to get my medication. But I did make a comment that thank God I called the insurance myself and done my due diligence, had I waited the time that they told me: ONEC this would've never gotten approved regardless of time and TWO it would've costed me $1200 out of pocket. She agreed. That was the entirety of the conversation. She let me walk off to wait. When it was ready, she rang me up like normal. No apology, no decency to acknowledge their error. And like I said, I was completely polite the entire time. Where is the accountability here? I feel that this type of error is gross negligence on behalf of a professional pharmacy staff. I probably wouldn't be here sharing such distain had she at least taken accountability and apologized! To add insult to injury, the call I received on the 30th telling me it was rejected because it was "too soon" wasn't the same individual that gave me that same reasoning in person on the 31st. For TWO seperate pharmacy technicians to give me an inaccurate reason that my insurance denied my refill, when their system very CLEARLY depicted the denial reason as something ELSE, is completely unacceptable. How do I as a customer, not a trained pharmacy staff member, have to point out this error to get my medication? I will absolutely never use this pharmacy again. read more

If you are trying to roll back your cash back don't come here had the supervisor right next to me. And instead of helping customer at the cash register she would bring them to self check out to have them do their transaction before me. First that is so rude, then another customer that had cash back coupons used them on her purchase not sure if it was a race problem, but she had absolutely no problem with her doing it. read more

This CVS is in a bit of a rundown location and felt more unsafe than the shopping center next door with the Starbucks and Walgreens. Walking in I was able to find one of my shampoos, but when I went to check out their vitamins several of the bottles were mixed up and in the wrong place. The shelves just felt messy and disorganized compared to some of the pharmacies i've been in lately. All in all, after a quick scan at the self-checkout I was done and onto the next - although I really don't think I'll be returning to this location. read more

This CVS is a nice easy convenient location! I stop in here all the time for a quick grab! I buy my Aveeno shampoo and conditioner here. Not sure if there is even somewhere else I could pick it up actually but definitely not as close as this CVS! Take today for instance. I needed conditioner for today's hair wash and just popped right over! No dry hair here! They have a small food section which is really convenient when you need one thing but don't want to make an extra stop at the store! Or when your hungry and need a snack! I want to get my passport photos done today and it shows online it has passport photo service. I stopped by and I told the lady I wanted to get my passports photos. She told me they have a lot of returning so they don't do passport photo. Bad customer service experience. I visited the store today I am from out of town, and I was very disturbed by the way the staff there and followed these students almost to the point of harassment. If I was a parent of one of those children, I would be livid I would Never give them my business!!! I do understand teenagers can be thieves however, to the point of them being harassed and followed the way they were. This is my neighborhood CVS. I've been shopping there and using their pharmacy for nearly 11 years, and I've seen workers come and go. Customer service overall hasn't been great, but not bad. That is, until this morning. This morning I went there shortly after the store opened. It appeared I was the only customer in the store. Since COVID, I like to shop early and take my time to make sure I have everything that I need. I had just picked up my last item when I heard over the loudspeaker, "Security, scan all aisles. Security, scan all aisles please." Having been profiled before in the 70's and 80's, that was my queue to make my way to the cashier. But I didn't see any of the two people I saw working when I entered. Scanning the aisles perhaps? No greeting upon entering, and no greeting when the self check alerted them that I needed assistance to buy NyQuil. And not another customer to be seen when I left the store. It would have felt a lot better if someone had just come up to me with a smile and asked if I was finding everything I needed. We are living in times where excellent customer service could have an incredibly positive impact on the people we connect with. I hope CVS finds it worth the time to reinforce the importance of good customer service for everyone. read more

The customer service is awful, the employees literally just sit there on their phones when you're trying to ask them questions and they are always out of everything. Me and my sibling were accused of stealing. Or they were taking things. The woman in front didn't specify. I was looking for vampire fangs and looking at things and singing to a song that was playing over the intercoms. Then the women came outside after we left and said we couldn't come back in. Then we came back again with our parents. And the women stopped us, saying we couldn't come in. mind you. I don't carry a bag, and my sibling had no pockets to carry anything in. It's just lousy customer service, and my sibling is a little shaken up. It was just plain rude. I did have to drag my parent out of there because the women kept accusing me and my sibling. Saying she was going to call security. My parent is still upset--just a bad environment. The store did have a good selection of face masks. I'm happy this CVS isn't one I frequent. read more

I am not a huge fan of pharmacies in general, and this one is always hit or miss. You either get a technician who goes above and beyond with checking on your prescriptions, or you get one of the apathetic workers who has a bad attitude and hates their job. I don't like the pharmacist, who made comments about my piercings and asked me if I had tattoos because, "you look like the kind of person that would have tattoos." I don't think he meant that I look awesome (which I am, dude). This store is cleaner than other CVS stores I've been to, but again, sometimes the checkout people are unpleasant. I can think of two specific cashiers who are very rude and not accommodating. I don't like picking up my scripts at a place where the employees seem to hate their jobs. My doctor forgot to date my prescription so they called me and told me to take it and have my doctor date it which I did pharmacy then accused me of altering and then told me theu could not process it and to come inside and and take it somewhere else so we went inside and they had shredded it in the seconds it took mu daughter to walk from the car. My doctor called and spoke to the pharmacists and they made me drive back to doctor and get new one and then refused to fill the new one. Mind you i just had surgery and was in massive pain I have shopped at this location for over a decade. I will be contacting the pharmacists corporate offices also. They caused me over 3 hours of my time being shuffled around in a car when i should have been in bed. I will never shop here again a million thumbs down just so we are clear. So I want to clarify that the HUMAN customer service is great but the automatic refill system sucks. Month after month I'm supposedly enrolled in automatic refills then my prescription runs out and I'm left having to desperately call the pharmacy. When you have a permanent disability you NEED your medication in a timely fashion and the system sucks for that. I LITERALLY am forced to visit the pharmacy at least once a week because they are all off schedule now. It's ridiculous. The pharmacy staff is helpful but can't fix the problems. read more

I typically don't like to give bad reviews but this pharmacy is ridiculous! I have a dog with diabetes and went to get his insulin and syringes at this pharmacy. They charge $165 for insulin and $35 for a box of syringes. I went to Wal-Mart and they charged me $27 for insulin and $10 for my syringes. I hope I never HAVE to use this pharmacy again because that is absolute robbery! read more

Lord have mercy. Every worker but one I have encountered has been nice. Michael did not understand my situation and gave me incorrect information. He spoke very very fast and because he has a heavy accent it was difficult to understand him. A week after I talked to him in person, I called and he picked up. He was abrupt and rude. He interrupted me while I was, once again, trying to explain the situation, but he did it in a way that was so rude and like he had better things to do. I had to forcefully tell him to wait and that he needs to stop talking and listen. Strike 3. They have a HUGE communication problem with each other, insurance companies, and customers. I have talked to four different people about my medication and it has not been taken care of. Now I'm waiting in the parking lot while they resolve it. I had a special ordered medication and they either sold it to someone else, or they marked it as sold and have to call my insurance to reverse it. I have no family up here so no one would have picked it up. Like I said, although most of the workers are kind and helpful and understand my frustration (Devyn and Jane, more specifically because they were left to pick up the pieces Michael had dropped) this is a huge waste of my time and my patience is growing thin. The absolute worse cvs or even convenience store to ever exist. Absolutely no customer service provided and all the people are rude. Tonight, as I'm getting off my work across the street, my boyfriend was accused of trying to steal alcohol, when he was just grabbing it from the shelf and was going to BUY It, the Indian women working there with glasses, she starts to scream at him that he is stealing and that she's going to call the police on him. He was planning on buyin it, like he always does and was accused of stealing it, when he was just grabbing it from the shelf. He said "I'm just trying to buy it" while the lady kept screaming at him that he was stealing, mind he's in the f****** store attempting to purchase, he got fed up put the bottle down and said "fine I won't buy it I'll go somewhere else". The lady didn't stop there, she tried illegally detaining him by putting shopping carts in front of the door, so he couldn't leave. Mind you he wasn't caught stealing or anything, just was seen grabbing the bottle from the shelf, attempting to purchase, and then being accused of stealing and being denied the right to leave the store. Absolute shame on cvs, I have been a customer there fo YEARS, I have spent hundreds on hundreds of dollars here on all my home goods. I WILL NEVER COME BACK, and will highly encourage everyone I know, including my coworkers (I work in the same shopping center) to never come back and let everyone they know. This review is geared toward the pharmacy: this is definitely one of the best CVS pharmacies around. The staff is always nice, both the technicians and the pharmacists. I have never had to wait more than five minutes in line and less so for the drive through window. The staff is much more cognizant of your time than other CVS' in the area. read more

This pharmacy is the worst I have ever been too. First off I have had the ongoing issue of them not putting the right quantity of pills in the bottom. And now today the pharmacy manager was very rude and so was the tech when I went in to pick up my prescription. The prescription was ready and pulled by my doctor. But they couldn't call me before I went down to the store to pick it up. I will never EVER use this poor excuse for a pharmacy again. I am taking everything to Walgreens. Any convenience store film shop isn't going to return film-lab-quality prints, and that bears out when I scan the prints at work. I stopped by this CVS location today to pick up some milk. As I entered the store, sans mask, I was admonished by a clerk that I could not enter without a mask. Let's be clear, I completely understand the new Contra Costa Health Services order that requires the use of a mask effective April 22nd. I placed an order for disposable masks over 2 weeks ago and still don't have them. If I did, I would be wearing one (I am considered a vulnerable group), and I would never want to unknowingly infect someone. I responded that the order does not take effect until 4/22, yet continued to be subjected to hurtful and embarrassing comments from the staff, and was humiliated when told I had to leave. I even checked the website for this specific store and there is no mention of the requirement. I get that people are scared and want to be protected. So do I!!! Unfortunately this order is being put in place when many people can't get masks due to shortages. CVS, you did not handle this well at all. I for one will no longer patronize your store. Management dropped the ball here. At least give people a heads up before you shun your customers in public. read more

Generic CVS, the main reason I like it so much is because it is easy to swing in and pick something up. They have a nice vitamin selection and they have sales on them all the time. The personal care areas have a large selection of allergy friendly and organic options, they have some comparable items at Whole Foods, but they are cheaper here. read more

Judging by all the comments I might be the only one who enjoys this place! I've never had any issues with the pharmacy and everyone has always been pleasant towards me even when shopping. Prices aren't always the best, but I do love the coupons. I always get the extra bucks on my receipts! read more
