Updated 2026 review - This CVS has been through a revamp and remodel to prevent theft. At one time or another, I've been shopping when theft had occurred and while they've tried security, it didnt seem to help with theft. They now have the expensive items or easy-to-steal or mostly stolen items locked-up. Which is great for the business, but not so much for loyal customers when you want to grab, pay and go. Today I didnt mind as there was time to get my items. I shop here occasionally as I am an ExtraCard member and get free shipping for items, I typically opt to use that benefit. They offer this for $5 a month plus you recieve $10 in extracareBucks each month! Its a win-win. In any event, I've never had a bad experience. Employees are always nice, I have not utilized the pharmacy in a few years since switching insurances but did notice that they are closed for lunch, so be mindful. Photo is quick, while some items/photo may be out of stock during promotional time, they are good about informing you. If you are coming at the end of the week, be mindful that couponers may have cleared some of the items you came shopping for! I have used ordering online and pickup in store at this location as well, and never had an issue. Since the last time I came shopping, things have been moved around. So glad they are still here and you can still find some amazing deals especially with the manufacturer coupons, CVS personalized coupons and the cash back "extraBucks" - it has definitely changed how couponing was pre-covid but still better than paying full price when compared to the inflation of everything nowadays! read more

This is solely based on my experience with the chubbie guy with the earrings at the front. Seriously the rudest employee for no reason all the time to me. Then I figured out why. I'm never rude to service workers, so I'm still all nice because who cares. He was at register once again, so here we go. I check out and let him know I don't need my receipt, he tells me "you know you have hands, so you can take go it to the trash out front." I grab it because whatever, and he proceeds the say the MOST RACIST COMMENT UNDER HIS BREATH as I walk away. Now I know why he always looks at me with disgust every time I go in. It would be helpful if yelp provided a means to rate the Pharmacy at this location (Chula Vista, Third Avenue Extension) separate from the store. The store rates two stars while the pharmacy rates a well earned four stars. They would be five stars if they were not co-located with the store. I dealt with two Pharmacists and one other, probably a Pharmacy Technician. They were professional in every sense, pleasing, and welcoming. I had a minor issue and had to go back several days later. That problem was dealt with immediately and to my total satisfaction by the same Pharmacist I saw in my initial visit. Perhaps he recognized me. One last comment: Effectively there are two separate businesses under one roof and within the same corporation. Reviews should be very specific. This CVS location has seen several very generic and under justified critical reviews. read more

Love this location it's so organized and the staff is extremely helpful. Had a way better experience attempting to pick up my grandma Trulicity insulin. Previous CVS wasn't helpful thankfully I was able to transfer my grandma prescriptions to this location. I appreciate the staff help to print out a form to provide to the physician. Overall a positive experience and this location is fully stocked. Highly recommend this location and it's 24hrs including drive thru. read more

Horrible CVS. One of the worst I've been too!! 4 hour wait for a walk in? I'm waiting prescription. Still 4 hours!!! Then I called to check to see if the prescriptions for my son were finally ready and I waited 7 minutes before anybody even picked up the phone!!! Ridiculous!!!!!!! The customer service associate was very nice and apologized for the wait but this is totally unacceptable!!!! This medicine was for my son asthma. I've never had an issue with my insurance and this kid had no idea what numbers to input and had to call several ppl for help and then asked me to pay for it and that they would reimburse me. The pharmacist who worked Saturday evening on 12/10/22 is about the least compassionate pharmacist I've ever come across. We will never get our prescription filled there ever again. I got there 10 minutes before closing and they wouldn't fill my prescription. They will never get my business. I don't recommend anyone reading this to get their prescriptions filled here. I fact I removed all prescriptions from my entire household to Sav-on. One more thing, we went back on the morning of 12/11/22, and the staff they all gave me and my wife an attitude like they can care less if they lose us as customers. If corporate is reading this, please fix this pharmacy. We will call corporate either way.. And by the way, we got the prescription switched to Sav-on on third and J, inside Albertsons. What a difference! Very professional, and they already solved our problem. And the same medication (Benzonatate) would cost $34 at CVS. Sav-on got it for us for $12 read more

I honestly don't come here often but I had free $3.00 coupon to use before it expires. I was thirsty and wanted something cold to drink. CVS is perfect for drinks and snacks. I was looking for 2 drinks for $3.00 but only Coke products were 2 for $3.00. I got my daughter a drink which wasn't $1.50 but cost more. It was fine. I paid $3.64 but minus the $3.00 coupon, I only paid .64 cents. Not bad. I needed to use the restroom but both restrooms were out of order. You could at least fix up the restrooms. Highly disappointed in that. I passed the makeup section and I was impressed. More selection here but not as many choices of the brands. I was very tempted to get more makeup but got drinks instead. I walked out with my daughter and she saw Chula Vista police and this location must be ghetto where cops have to be hanging around but they ended up leaving. This must be a sketchy location for CVS since they are near the freeway. I may be back. read more

I was not feeling well so I made an appointment on the CVS website to get tested for COVID. For everything out, got a confirmation of my test appointment, ok great. Then the day off the appointment, I get a text saying it has been cancelled. It gives me a phone number to call and reschedule. I cashed it and asked the customer service person about my test. She tells me it's still on, that there are a bunch of random cancellation texts bring sent out on accident. I go there for the test, and when I get there, they tell me nope, we're done testing for the day. Excellent. Thanks. Just a joke !! Called about 3 times in the last hour and they kept hanging up the phone call. Someone would pick up then place me on hold pick up again and then disconnected...3 times.. the phone didn't even get picked up on the last time. Well i ended up coming in and guess what. The youngest lady on register says "can i just not pick up the phone anymore, like they can't hear me anyways." And the asian looking manager with tattoos just laughs. This review is for covid testing. My appointment was at 11:50, 5 cars were there when I got there. it is now 12:41 and only 2 cars have went through that window the car will literally sit by the window for 15 minutes before anybody approaches the window. If I wanted to wait that long I would go to a walk in clinic. I made an appointment for a reason so I'm not stuck waiting for an hr feeling sick. I purchased a product yesterday. It did not perform as advertised so I went to return it. I showed the clerk the problem, and the receipt and requested my money back. I was told I'd have to give my I.D. card in order to receive a refund, despite my providing the receipt. I was told it was the only way I could get a refund because it was store policy. I asked to know where in the store the policy was posted so consumers could make an "informed decision" about buying something in any CVS and was told there was no notice posted regarding a refund...just one online. I was advised to check it out, which I later did. Had I known my I.D. would be scanned into some database I would not have made any purchase at any CVS in America. read more

The place is under staffed, was told my simple eye drops would be ready in 15 minutes, wrong took 35 minutes to finally call my name. I've tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but just tired of the constant poor service. Staff not friendly at all or knowledgeable - when I asked if the drops need to be refrigerated, they didn't even know. When one of the staff came in with donuts, they finally showed emotion. I ordered from cvs curbside pickup at exactly 2:40pm and received a conformation email saying they'd text message me when my supplies would be ready giving me the timeline of before or exactly 3:40pm I then made sure I was at the cvs location before 3:40pm I parked and waited for an additional 20 minutes . still no text message or email annoyed I went inside the cvs and asked if my order was ready which defeats the whole purpose of curbside pickup The cashier had no idea what I was talking about and took an additional 20 minutes figuring out how to use the app and get my things, mind you I only ordered three items she blamed the app saying it wasn't working for all cvs locations. read more

I urge any friends and family to be very weary of CVS Pharmacy as a store..I shopped there last week and after getting my prescription filled I decided to buy a few items that were on special and I went to the counter to pay and give them extra card care number... They told me the system was down and the Manager was rude and just told be to pay full price or don't buy it... People here are are very nice but sometimes you will encounter problems. As a couponer its aggravates me when their machines dont work properly and sometimes cashiers are not willing to help you understand why that had happened. Instead of saying "that whats the machine says" I was hoping that they will say "let me explain to you why". So 3 stars for them just cause of the friendliness of some employees. read more
