This location surprisingly has great patio furniture. They also have some really nice inventory of gardening planter pots. The auto supplies and parts section is super duper stocked well. I didn't appreciate being caused to feel like a juvenile delenguient. I feel something is dreadfully wrong with the way Walmart handles it's locked merchandise.First I waited for an employee to open the locked door. i had to summon them many times. I even attempted to call them on the phone. Finally someone unlocked the case retrieved the item I wanted then walked it to a cash register. This caused me to loose a lot of respect and loyalty for Walmart. I will guarantee you this, the next time I discover the item I want is locked up, I'm walking out and going to Target. read more

Don't shop here. The customer service area alone is a reason to avoid this store. It routinely takes 15-30 minutes just to reach the counter due to how slow and understaffed it is. I had a very strange, off-putting, and anti-consumer experience trying to return a DVD that was sold as new and sealed but was damaged inside once opened. The damage was not visible prior to purchase and was discovered only after opening the sealed packaging. The item was not damaged by me. When I first went to the electronics department, I was told I could purchase a replacement DVD and then go to customer service to return the damaged one. Most items are kept behind glass, which already makes shopping here frustrating. It often takes several minutes just to find an employee to unlock anything. At customer service, the team leader on duty, Nybo, who was working Saturday, January 3, 2026 around 11:30 AM, stated along with her staff that the situation was my fault for not knowing store policy and that Walmart does not accept returns on damaged physical media. There is no signage in the electronics department, no notice on the locked media displays, and no disclosure at the register stating that physical media is final sale even when defective. Had this been clearly disclosed, I would not have made the purchase. During the interaction, Nybo laughed while I was explaining how confusing and unreasonable this policy is. Her tone was dismissive, and her behavior appeared to set the tone for the rest of the staff. At one point, security was called to the area even though I was calm and not being disruptive. The hostility was coming from the staff, not me. Even small local retailers will usually correct an issue when they sell a defective product. Walmart refusing to stand behind an item it sold as new while blaming the customer is extremely disappointing. I have escalated this issue to corporate and will be filing a formal complaint. I will not be shopping at this location again. read more

The worst Walmart Ive been to. The fresh produce is as tiny as half an aisle! I have to go an extra 2.5 miles to a Superwalmart for fresh fruits and vegetables. Rude People park in the designated curbside spots. The parking lot is full of trash...service is average. Not a very clean walmart. Don't see my prior review as of posting this Update. This Wally World aka. Wal-Mart is located in Southbay Marketplace next to UPS, Best Buy and there is also a bank, restaurants and Subway. Parking lot is huge and always a parking spot - even if you don't get your princess parking- there is always plenty of parking. Staff has been friendly and nice, I've never had an issue. This location still seems a bit outdated. The self checkouts are there with an employee over seeing but some take card only or they are not allowed to give cash back - or they are simply not working and down. Definitely have been utilizing the garden entrance when I come instead of the main entrance, less crowded and all seasonal items are in that area of the store. My issue is the amount of time it takes you to check out, and the people who shop here. I try to utilize the "H Street" location over this location. It is mere convenience when I come here. The grocery section is minimal- while they have a bit of everything... and I've noticed that grocery pickup is allowed (wasn't a thing when the pandemic started). They still have pickup parking spots. read more

It was great to get a sneak peek on what to expect for Black Friday. I came into this location in search of the Grinch Family PJ set I got lucky to find a pair for me snd my son they were last ones in our size. Since this is the only grocery store in my neighborhood, I have no choice but to shop here. But I do not recommend this store because everyone and everything is unorganized. It's not following any kind of protocol or preventive measures to re-assure its customers are comfortable to continue to shop with confidence. Last year they did something to the registers and move some things around, this time the registers are all closed and no one knows why? From management to shipping and receiving to stocking and the employees that get carts all day, very minimal knowledge of anything. The link did not work it to me to Walmaer site to begin shopping again. When I tried to cancel their Plus membership got the run around on the website and finally had to call and talk to India and wait on hold a very long time. Could brely understand the agent and ask him to repeat himself several times. Totally disappointed with their customer service and will never shop here again. This review is for their auto shop/lube Do NOT take your car to Walmart for an oil change (in hindsight that should've been a no-brainer, but the convenience of being able to shop while the car gets taken care of won out, much to my regret). They used a torque-wrench to put the new filter on, making it impossible to get off without breaking the plastic piece it attaches to. Not knowing this, I attempted an oil change at another Walmart (which will also be getting a scathing review due to stealing my oil cap and letting me drive off none the wiser ) which informed me of the problem. If you care about your safety, don't come here. Today, a man in his 40s got upset with an older man, maybe in his 50s, because he cussed in front of his son. I'm sure there is more to the story, but that doesn't matter. What does matter is that they took it outside. Cool, but the man in his 40s in the Anchor Construction Specialties, Inc. shirt went to his car and took out a metal baseball bat and started hitting this man in his 50s. The security was there but did nothing. Why have security if they won't do anything? The manager came out like whos fighting i explained to her what happened and they just let this man come back into the store with his baseball bat to go back shopping with his young son.The son looked maybe 8. I and a few other customers told the manager and security at the time Friday, June 9th, 2023, at 1:35 pm that you can't let him go back into the store. That's when the manager said it was fine. I suggest Upper walmart can find security and managers to make sure if someone just assaulted someone with a baseball bat to not let them go back to shopping. Oh, and what happened to the victim, you may ask. The security officer told him to go away and get out of here. I know the security guard was scared, but look, I'm a mom, and I was trying to keep people away from him. Even the victims wife tried to help since no one else was, and then to say oh he's fine. Well, because walmart didn't have a problem, the chula Vista police said they couldn't do anything because he's not trespassing. I'm completely shocked at how now a days you can beat someone with a metal baseball bat and just get away with it. I hope that man is okay. I hope he doesn't get any brain injuries. I talked to police when they got there, and the first one asked if it was a plastic bat. I said no, of course not. Then the female cop explained that since walmart didn't care if he stayed, then he wasn't trespassing, and there for there was nothing they could do. I usually wouldn't write a review about Walmart, but today I felt compelled to. I had a very good experience with online order pickup. Never having to been at this particular Walmart I got myself caught up in the traffic craziness that is at this Walmart. It literally took me 8 minutes get through to aisles of parking, it was pretty frustrating with the amount of cars mixed in with a whole bunch of people walking and driving at the same time but I finally saw the pickup area and was relieved to be parked. Having already checked in now it was time to tell them which stall I parked at. I saw the area preoccupied with about six cars so I'm thinking that my order would take a lot longer seeing how many people going into Walmart. To my surprise I barely waited 3 minutes! I was just noticing that I was over by the out door furniture and there's a tag that says "don't sit on merchandise" well isn't this furniture place out for display . When we buy something we have to sit on it and make sure that its a right buy to home with us. So I feel that we should be able to try something out before we buy it and we're talking furniture. But j must say that there is a pretty good collection and if I had a home I'm sure I would think about buying this furniture. Purchased an item that needed to be returned and was refunded because a replacement never showed. Somehow 5 months later Walmart recharged me for an item that I never received. They argued the fact which is pathetic to be that desperate for a $130. Of course I'll dispute it but it's Walmart and they will come out victors for a measley 130, and a huge chunk of my change.
