It was a couple evenings before New Year's eve and I wanted to use my gift card to buy drinks and junk food. As I walked through the large open entrance, I was caught by surprise. I expected crowds throughout the aisles, long lines at the register, basically people walking all over the place. This was not the case. Albertsons in Chula Vista was calm and quiet. An elderly man with a hunched back had to put his bagged groceries in his cart, without so much as the courtesy of turning the secondary conveyor belt on so he could more easily reach them. And each next customer was left to do the same. It's one thing to not schedule enough courtesy clerks to do it, but that doesn't mean you make your customers do it. I try to give business multiple opportunities to make things right. I have had so many issues with the grocery order pickup. I ask for substitutions or try the chat feature to ask if I can get something else and the shopper doesn't respond. Yes I have called and complained, today was the second time. I have had issues with getting all my bags! I even asked the girl, "are you sure that's it" she reassured me that it was in fact my entire order. I get almost home which isn't too far, thankfully, and they had like 3 or 4 bags of my groceries they forgot. I've got charged for items like cucumbers that were not in my bags when I got home. I'm going to be taking my business elsewhere. Today the customer service rep was very quick to not listen to me and pass me off to someone in the back. Zero cares given. read more

As I was self checking out my items today CARMELITA rudely was starting at my husband and I making sure I was at the checkout stand right next to her view. (( Mind you there were other people in the self check out isles besides us )). As I was grabbing my items and checking them out and putting them back into my cart she rudely told me " PUT YOUR ITEMS ON THIS COUNTER ! " like already accusing me of stealing. Although everything I grabbed I had already scanned but she did make me feel pretty uncomfortable and made it seem like I was stealing. I have seen many reviews in the past about this store being racist I've always ignored them until Today. I felt stereotyped af. I did call and make a complain on this woman and let the supervisor know that she is very rude and I felt very stereotyped. Just had two amazing examples of customer service in this trip to Albertsons. First a gentleman name Gerardo, who was stocking produce, took the time to go into the back to find an item that wasn't out on shelves, found it at the bottom of a stack of pallets and took the time to retrieve some of these items for me. On the same trip, I left my cell phone in my shopping cart in the cart return area of the parking lot when I came back looking for it a half hour later one of the cart attendants found it and turned it in to the manager appreciate both of these employees For their hard work and integrity. read more

Outdated no more. This Albertsons is located right past downtown Chula Vista on third Avenue and next to the United States Post Office. You can't miss it. There is plenty of parking with added stations to charge your electric cars. The last week or so, this Albertsons has had a complete makeover from painting, to changing and updating the signage, to a complete overhaul of the interior with newly added refrigeration and spacious isles. It was a bit of a pleasant surprise but definitely needed to go through the store once to see the changes as some items are no longer in the isles they once were. I dont think I've seen so many employees and workers, completing projects and actively busy to get this Albertsons interior and exterior completed. Even throughout this remodel, staff is readily available and offered assistance. I have been making more of an effort to shop here. The only drawback is make sure you download the app or sign- in online to check your account for coupons! I got so excited to see many items on sale this week on the app, I FORGOT to "click" so when I checked out, I was charged regular price!!! Definitely check your account. read more

If I can give this store a ZERO I would. I called to ask the deli a simple question and the man said too busy and started to argue about me asking a simple question as do you have made fried chicken? Then passed me to the deli manager Diana and she was even more rude. Starting to have an attitude like I was an inconvenience to her! I wasn't on the phone with her for a minute and her tone of voice was rude. I repeatedly asked to speak to a store manager and she would not do it! The. She finally said yes and put me on hold and I'm pretty sure she didn't transfer me. I wasn't on hold for almost 10 mins and had to call back. Talked to Armando the manager. He seemed nice but said he'll talk to them but working in customer service myself I would have made sure to help this customer with what ever needs to make sure they are happy. Especially when I said I will be contacting their corporate office! I use to love this Albertsons but never again will I shop there! They don't do much but be hostile and passive aggressive when it comes to doing their job. Specifically- never got her name but she's got long, dark hair- if customer service isn't her thing... a job where customers don't have to talk to her might be more fitting. Just my two cents. I've seen employees coming and going however there is this well mannered young man his name is Leonardo he's always so attentive polite and extremely helpful! I've been meaning to write this review. It's directed solely at Starbucks My daughter has ebt and goes in there occasionally to get coffee, well, the lady at counter is so rude to them!!!! As soon as she sees them she asks, "are your drinks gonna be complicated?" Or will say, "just to let you know I have like 10yr sera ahead of yours" yet will proceed to continue helping other customers and DOES NOT tell them the same things. I been meaning to go in and speak with her but I'll start here and hope issue is addressed with her. My daughters are paying customers and should not be discriminated against for paying with ebt. It's not coming out of her pocket that I know of so why give them attitude. Albertsons will still get paid according for the drinks and if that's the case Olof it being an issue then maybe they should stop offering the ability to pay with ebt. I don't know the ladies name but I'm sure this location has limited number so staff and can hopefully figure out who it is. They tend to go in mid mornings or early morning and all I know is she's an older lady, as in not a teen or lady in 20s read more

***Review for Bakery*** I've always bought cakes from Albertsons bakery. They're affordable and delicious. They even personalize cakes. I showed a picture of what I wanted. Mind you, they do not do fondant work but that's ok with me because I don't like the taste. The look is great but I prefer whipped or butter cream. Came in looking for a bus pass, they no longer sell bus passes just an FYI for anyone else relying on on public transportation. I was greeted by an employee as she was going on break which was nice but all the other employees saw me standing at the front looking confused (my usual choice of looks) and no one asked if I needed help with anything. Let me start by saying I've been shopping at this store since it opened and I love the staff. This review is specifically for the Starbucks at this location. I recently bought 2 cups from another location in La Jolla. I ended up not needing the cups for a friend. I took my receipt and went to this location to return. I asked a cashier I'm familiar with about returning and she referred me to a Manager. I wasn't familiar with this manager and he told me I needed to return to the location where I purchased the cups. I pointed out the store is in La Jolla and that i shop at this location all the time. After I complained, he confirmed with someone in the back and approved this one time return. He lead me to the Starbucks to do the return himself. When he prepared to do the return, the Starbucks employee pointed out the manager of Starbucks doesn't allow this. He confirmed it was approved. Although the return produced cash, they insisted I had to put the cash on a Starbucks card which made zero sense. During the awkward transaction, I pointed out the cups would sell easily and the manager said they have to send returned cups back and can't resell. The Starbucks employee then put the cups in a back cabinet. Later that evening, my friend called me and asked about the cups. I returned to the store the next day and the same Starbucks employee was working as well as the cashier who directed me to the manager. I asked the employee at Starbucks (that put the cups in a back cabinet the night before) if I could repurchase the cups. I was shocked by her response, "if they're out there." Wow, I thought they had to send them back! Needless to say, both cups was gone. I confirmed with another employee they were sold earlier. While this is an awesome store to shop at, skip the Starbucks. There are plenty locations nearby with better service and a lot less attitude. read more

My sister suggested specifically this Albertsons for a 'roll toilet paper' cake. Called the bakery, they sound really excited to work there (sarcasm). Augie I guess who told us they could do it and was the person that answered and had told me the cake was ready... walked in and it wasn't, no one knew where it was as if it walked away... they lost the order and never started on the lady in front of me's cake smh... had to keep giving my own pointers to add to the cake to look better then how they gave it to me ... it's funny, they were a mess and it's better to laugh at a situation, learn from experience, walk away and never look bad... Everything I needed was in stock & thankfully the store limited customers to items so other people can have a chance to buy soap, paper towels, toilet paper etc. They even went to extra measures by having two people stand outside at each entrance making sure customers wouldn't come in again to hoard water and etc. Hoping we can get through these tough times. On August 17, 2023 I came into this Albertson's to order 100 pieces of chicken for a party on August 26 to be picked up at 12 noon August 26. When I arrived at 12 o'clock the deli said they had no order for me. I showed him the receipt and he said they had no order so I had to wait an hour to get chicken for a party. We have shopped Albertsons-Vons for decades and had deliveries because of the Covid over the last 2 years. We will no longer order delivery from Albertsons. They are consistently out of stock of items that are not labeled out of stock on the website. You click on an item the day before and it does not get delivered the next day. And, the reason is that item is...out of stock. Even high volume items like soda often are delivered changed. You ask for cans and they deliver liter bottles. There is a new app for Albertsons and that app is inconvenient because it does not orient to landscape for iPad nor iPhone. read more
