I came to the drive-through before 6 to pick up my prescription and I was told the computer wasn't working and that I had to come inside. When I came inside to get my script I had the gate shut in my faced by the same person telling me they "close at 6". Then why was I told to come inside? For that? I had a medical situation which I had spoken to my insurance provider customer nursing care yesterday morning. She advised me it was essential I go to a medi clinic and suggested CVS. I had no idea they even existed but I went online and and made an appointment. To my amazement, I was treated by a very poorly English speaking NP who was adamant you were not a provider for Anthem Medi Blue PPO and you are, she knew nothing about insurance at all so please train her kept saying it was Medicare but it is not, I am on a medicare advantage ppo with Anthem Blue Cross. She never did a thing except ask me to show her my problem and was absolutely of no use! I would not even take my cat or dog to that medi clinic and someone has to teach that NP how to properly speak English and learn insurance plans not to mention have a bit of welcoming attitude. read more

They insist on scheduling your COVID test so they can make you wait in a line of cars for an eternity to get it done. Ridiculous! Worse than a doctor's office. Bring reading material, knitting...something to keep you occupied. Most people turn off their engine while they wait and back on to move up (save your gas). Tip: If you are scheduled for the last appointment of the day 5:20 and you're waiting in the line a long time, call CVS pharmacy to tell them you are in the line waiting otherwise they may mark you as a 'no show'. They did this to my husband. The good news is that if they cancel your appointment by mistake, they will let you come back the next day at any time (even if your new appointment is scheduled at some other time - you just have to book another appointment so they have you in their system). read more

Both of the self checkout lines were closed and the cashier was no where to be found. And then when someone finally showed up, they skipped right passed us to help another customer who had just showed up and completely ignored our request when we had been patiently waiting for much longer. I've been to this location plenty of times and it's very frustrating. There always seems to be something going on in the front and it takes forever to make a simple purchase. read more

I have now sat in this drive thru pharmacy pick up line for 35 minuets! You can't get out of line because you are trapped between cars. If there is a problem with a prescription the person should be asked to move over to the side or go into the store! Don't they have someone just doing the window?!? This one car has been at the window for 15+ min!! So inefficient! read more

I just left CVS around 6:45pm on 9/10. There is an older lady, shoulder length black hair/dark brown. There was 2 other cash register and still 5 people behind me. The lady with the dark short hair was extremely talkative and did not seem to care that there was a long line of people and she continued to chat with the customer. I called the pharmacy six hours ahead of time to make sure my prescription would be filled when I would be coming by. Let me say here that I'm getting one of the most common antibiotics, but I suppose a prescription is a prescription, and when they aren't filled when you show up six hours after calling ahead to make sure the prescription would be filled, you just have to wait in line like every other dildo in the store that didn't call ahead. And you have to understand that I felt like dog crap the entire time these bozos are juggling their job responsibilities with other important tasks taking up cognitive load, such as breathing and walking. I would say "counting" also, but they weren't doing that very well at all. It was a good fifteen or twenty minutes until my prescription is filled, not five like the person said. And last, but not least, I was SUPER close to getting someone else's prescription. I have to be honest, I did roll that one around in my head for a minute on the off-chance I could trade my antibiotics up to something fun. But I'm old enough now that I (usually) pay my taxes, and I have a regular job, and people in line at the grocery store call me "sir". And I guess I need the antibiotics, really. So I corrected the mistaken identity problem. Which was stupid to begin with, because I don't think I really look very much like a "Christine". Pretty much zero stars, guys. You get a single star for the CVS employee working at the front register of the store (not the pharmacy) who greeted me when I entered the store. You suck at everything else. read more

Does anyone know what CVS stands for? I live very close to this CVS location. it is not one of the bigger store locations which means.... everything is cramped altogether inside and out. It really bites when there is only one cashier because a line will form and it then there is always that one customer that takes 10 minutes to check out. Maybe, convenience is not the greatest after all. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. I guess I look lost often because I am constantly asked if I need hep. :o) BUT I would rather be asked and be ignored completely. Another downer is the parking. During their busy hours the parking area can turn into a make bumper cars arena. It is small, poorly and oddly designed. The price I pay for convenience.... at the Consumer Value Store. read more

Being at the corner of RSF and La Costa, this place makes a killing.The parking lot is always full. Then again, the parking lot is designed oddly, but that doesn't seem to stop the number of folks that frequent CVS. It makes me wonder whether this may change if the empty acres next door ends up developing into a commercial area as advertised. Luckily, I live nearby and find it convenient for me to catch it on the way home, the way out, or simply just walk to it. I can walk to it, get what I need and return in about 20 minutes. Instead of going to Target for basic things, I'll just go to CVS so I don't have to wait for any long lines. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I got a text at 10am saying my prescription was ready. I got into the drive thru line at 11:55am. It is now 1:35pm and I have my name and DOB and she said "it's not ready I need to to pull out of line and wait 10 minutes". She then argued with me when I told her I've been in line for 2 hours and my prescription said it was ready over 3 hours ago. Terrible, horrendous customer service and miserable wait time. I've had weird experiences with the guy with the black gloves before but today took the cake. I had the audacity to ask if I could use my 25% coupon one eighth of a second after he rang the last item and presumably totalled it. Mostly anywhere else it would be no problem - not this guy. He literally rolled his eyes and sighed audibly. Made it so uncomfortable I told him to leave it - he then thought he would make me feel better by saying I could use it NEXT time because they don't expire. Yay. Maybe I wanted to save $25 TODAY. I just moved ro La Costa and assumed I would be able to smoothly transition from my previous highway 101 cvs location where I had excellent service for 7 years. This cvs is a nightmare of poor customer service and complete incompetence. My prescription was sent on December 23 and despite being told it was ordered and getting a text saying it was ready over 2 weeks later, I was then told theydidnt have it and they suggested I call my doctor to have it sent to a different pharmacy. That was the only solution offered. I was there for an hour where they found a nearby cvs that had the medication. They had me call the other cvs pharmacy and then told me as it was a regulated substance that it couldn't be transferred. Mind you the prescription was sent over 2 weeks ago. No offer to take the responsibility themselves!! Just have me call my doctor. Then explaining why it wasn't their fault! read more

I was at this location today to return a plates that I didn't know you can not eat off of. When I went to return it the lady Liz told me " you didn't buy it at this CVS . " I told her my girlfriend did buy it here and she then started arguing with me. I didn't have the receipt but usually CVS is OK with that. I told her forget the plates and I have a lottery scratcher that I won . She told me that I needed to scratch the bottom off to reveal the bar code. I told her every other place I go to they tell me they must do that Not me. She again argued with me and said that I need to scratch it off and not hold up the line. Speaking of line there was a girl behind me recording the hold ordeal while telling whomever on her phone how Liz was treating me. I told her to please post this but who knows if she did or would. I talked to the manager about Liz but he could care less. That is why this CVS is such crap . They higher crap and they treat there customers like crap. I called CVS corporate and am suppose to get a call in 3 days. I'll see about that. My wife had a problem with this CVS and called corporate and also was suppose to get a call too.....that was last year ! That is how much CVS does not care about its customers. As I walked in I was welcomed, and offered help. Always appreciated. They had an excellent Christmas display and decorations up and about, (even though it's mid-November). Took my son cause his ear was bothering him. No one ahead of us and the nurse made us wait 20 minutes while she did paperwork. Spent less than a couple minutes examining him and then waited in the room with her while she did more paperwork and asked us so many questions. The whole experience took almost an hour. Had a wonderful shopping experience in this CVS last Friday. I had a 10$ off coupon and I just got paid so I was waiting to do a big sweep, but I haven't been to a drug store in a while and was a little lost. A young lady named Kyra noticed me and instantly made herself available to me. She walked me through savings strategies, she scanned items for price check for me, she explained extra bucks to me, she watched my basket as I ran out to my car, she bundled my items to give me the maximum savings, and she even noticed a coupon I had which I missed. Kyra easily saved me 20$ and I went home with 2 huge bags of food, toiletries, school supplies and makeup, and I spent no time looking for my picks or paying for them. I went to the minute clinic for a tetanus shot after getting bitten by a feral rat. The nurse I saw (Barbara Noval), after waiting for an hour (even though I had an appointment), wasted another 45 minutes of my time by doing a physical on me before telling me she did not have the vaccination in stock. My mother was at this CVS the week before to get a flu shot from the same nurse. After waiting for an hour and a half, the nurse told my mother that she was going on lunch. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. Go to an urgent care facility that will prioritize your health instead. read more

Before reading my negative comments, note it's really hard to find a pharmacy that actually does their job correctly. Pros: Close to neighborhoods, drive through RX which I appreciate the keep the sicko's outside. Friendly staff. Cons: RX renewals have never been complete. When a refill needs authorization they never ask in advance, you ALWAYS have to tell them. Even when I changed my prescription qty, they tell me it "reset" in their system and dropped of the auto refill. If they know this happens, you'd think they'd pay attention and correct it. To the point one prescription is now a week behind the other refills, so I have to pick up one set on the 1st and another prescription on the 7th, they can't seem to find a way to correct. Other stuff in the store is several dollars more than the vons across the street. read more

I just waited in the line at the drive up window for over an hour. They are doing Covid tests at the same window where one can pick up their meds. The two are not compatible. This CVS staff is great. It is ALWAYS busy and, of course, that isn't their fault- This location serves the greater La Costa area and between the drive through window, minute clinic and quite miscellaneous purchases it can be a zoo. Having said that, I am almost always greeted by Tyler at the prescription drop off window and he is excellent, compassionate, informative and humorous which, when dealing with medications and illness is appreciated. Savannah, who I have dealt with by phone, is very helpful and extremely pleasant. Please extend my thanks. read more

This CVS store/pharmacy is great! Staff prompt, courteous, accurate never a problem! The problem here are the customers GET OVER YOURSELVES!!! Why you have to be so rude is beyond me. I recently had the unpleasant experience of waiting in line with two of the most negative people I have ever heard speak in my life! They were plotting how to get ride of a nurse in a doctors office.
