I also like how when I called the pharmacy I was able to get through quickly and easily to speak to someone in the pharmacy. So much better in every way than the previous pharmacy. read more

Little did I know that Walmart can fill Dogs prescriptions. I went to my local Walmart and did indeed get my dogs flea medication. It was easy., there was no line, and the staff was so friendly. I will be back! read more

I came in here because I needed a prescription that my Dr had called in and I heard they had reasonably priced prescriptions. They were out of the antibiotic I needed which is very unfortunate and a first for me to ever experience. I left and called my Dr to get it transferred elsewhere. Fast forward a week and they start texting me that it's ready. Who waits a week for a needed antibiotic for an infection?? I ended up going to CVS. The quoted wallmart price for the prescription was $50, after the fact. I paid $17 at CVS and never returned to wallmart. read more

Well coming on opening day was quite the experience. What was I thinking? Yes I knew it would be a cluster F but little did I know there would be protesters. Whatever people. Get over it already. It's a done deal. I don't remember people having that big of a cow when Target opened. I'm excited because of the optometry department. Not the best Walmart location. While in a descent area, the store is pretty small and not well stocked. Service was nice, huge parking lot and no lines, but we did not find most of the stuff we needed. Unorganized, not the full selection, not worth coming back to. read more

If you are in the market for cheap drugs then Walmart is a good place to buy them up. If you are in the market for a good pharmacy then you might look elsewhere. Shame on Walmart for being too cheap to staff the pharmacy all day on the weekends. They have three staff members and they can not stay open through lunch breaks because only one true pharmacist is working. You can not even drop off a prescription when he is on lunch break. This is a big inconvenient truth for their customers. I guess you get what you pay for at Walmart. No frills. read more

If I shopped at Walmart, does that now make me a Walmartian? Or is that only the case if I was wearing dirty underwear as a beret at the time of my visit? I'm not a regular Walmart shopper, and I found the layout of this particular store a little odd (although I really can't explain why), but it was clean and quiet and I got my stuff and checked out without incident. The food prices are, I am told, very low here and the quality of the grub is not bad at all. If you are trying to save money these days while still waiting for that billion dollar stimulus money to kick in after over 2 years, well, you could save some serious money here on your grocery bill. I came by this Walmart Supercenter for a quick purchase today and thought it would be a notch up on other Walmarts since it was in a nicer area. The first thing I noticed was their sign in the front which deters solicitors. That was cool because most have annoying people hustling the front with voting stuff or fundraisers etc. Inside the bathrooms were so-so as they could have been cleaner, but weren't horrible. I did the self-check out and the Walmart associate Shirley was friendly when I had issues with my card inserting it for the security chip since I was new to using that feature on my card. She was nice and assisted me with my self-checkout. I then asked her for a plastic bag as I noticed none of the self check-outs had any and she told me how Encinitas and Solana Beach Walmart locations got rid of the bags. She then informed me on how they charge 10 cents for their reusable plastic bags and 50 cents for they shopper bag. That's neat in ways for them going green, but also inconvenient if you don't have one you must buy one in addition to your purchase. Overall, Walmart has a little bit of everything for things you need and the service here is fine.~ read more

Probably the most quiet relaxing Walmart trip I have ever had. I was not stuck in a long line, and I was not fighting a crowd to get my shopping done. When you walk in it feels different from other Walmarts. I can't put my finger on it. Maybe because it wasn't hectic and as awful as I was expecting. They have a medium size pet section. I ended up getting a ton of stuff for my foster cat Moe. I haven't really had my very own cat to take care of so I had to get all the items needed. They actually had pretty cute cat beds. Oddly, cats don't ever seem to take to any cat beds I buy them so PM me if you have tips! There was one guy working who was really friendly and made me laugh. I doubt he enjoys his job, but he looks like he does and it was nice to smile and joke. The young lady checking me out was nice but so slow at doing her job. Every item had its own bag and it took forever. All the people behind me started to narrow their gaze and judge my copious amount of cat items and frozen dinners for one. I could hear them thinking, "Yeah that chick sure is a textbook crazy Cat Lady." I wanted to turn to the ever growing line and explain it wasn't my fault and that I wasn't some crazy Cat Lady. Whatever, I am sure people have thought a lot more awful things about me that have been more true! Much poorer walking out, I felt that this Walmart was pleasant and was glad I went in. read more

Its walmart. That being said- this is byfar one of the smallest walmarts ive been to. They do have a grocery section. Everything else is condensed to fit in this small location. Most times this place seems empty. Most times I leave this place with nothing. I prefer to shop elsewhere. read more

Love that the parking lot is clean. I don't have to navigate an obstacle course of trash, used syringes (not really, utlitizing hyperbole), and other items like at other Walmarts. Every employee I've encountered has been extremely friendly and helpful. Well stocked and clean bathroom - trash is actually in the trashcan versus on the floor. I've only used Customer Service, MoneyCenter, and the restroom so I can't comment on the shopping experience or what this Walmart offers as compared to other Walmarts. read more

Walmart Pharmacy - Pharmacy Near Me - Encinitas, California

Well they finally did it. They filled the massive Walmart void in San Diego. I personally have 10 walmarts within 5 miles of my house, but from Carlsbad to Kearny and East to Poway, nothing. Before they gutted from a Home Depot showroom I actually thought to myself, this would be a nice place for a Costco or walmart, aside from the terrible parking situation and size. We'll the main issue is that these shared lot business were accustomed to now having the craziness of walmart raged drivers using 2 entrances, exits which can't handle the flow that a walmart would bring. The location is neat, new, bright, but there aren't enough entrances to the store either. Service is ok, as expected, but it's more like a mini walmart than a regular one and certainly not a super walmart. I think people are setting their sites too high on this one. Even "good" walmarts don't get 5 stars. The best they can hope for is 4 and the worst is a 1, but lets be honest with outselves, there is simply too much wrong with the company, not just individual stores. It's got the sleepy surfer town panache of it's host city I guess I just don't know why people act like idiots when they come here and not act like that anywhere else. Don't live down to the walmart standard. read more

Admittedly I'm part of the "I hate Walmart" group, but my experience wasn't so bad. I looked for an item on Amazon and then saw it online at Walmart for half the price, available now with no shipping delay or cost. I often use the google shopper app on my phone to find the online and local retailers that have something in stock. I viewed the Walmart website and it showed the item in stock in several stores, including this location. I first went to the location on Vista Way in Oceanside and the dept manager couldn't find it and told me that the Walmart inventory system is very unreliable. So I would have to call all the locations to check actual inventory. I called two other locations and provided a brand and model name, along with a description. The operators kept asking me for a stock number. (are customers really supposed to have stock numbers on hand?!!) Finally called the Encinitas location and the phone operator looked it up and told me that there were several in stock. Thankfully this was true. So it seems that the service level might be a bit higher than other locations. I don't plan on shopping at Walmart very often. But will probably go to this location when I do. read more

For the longest time I avoided this location after the wretched City of Encinitas instituted their plastic bag ban because it was just such a pain in the patella. But now that the rest of the state has seen fit to do the same I''m forced to bring my own bags no matter which Walmart I go to. So with that I might as well go to my favorite one! Why is this my favorite one you ask?? Well, I'm glad you did! This one has easy access and, at least when I shop, it's overly crowded. I can zip in and out in a jiffy with a minimal loss of time or convenience. The staff is always friendly and helpful which is never the case across the street at the terrible store with the ugly red bulls eye. The other thing I like about this location is while it's a smaller store they carry different things than most others. I happened to find Kewpie here and NO other Walmart I've been into carries and some have never heard of it. (Japanese Mayo). As long as I plan my trip (since I don't live here but drive by daily for work) it's my "Go To" spot but be warned... it's NOT a 24hr location so when the midnight munchies hit and you need Oreos.. you're out of luck! read more

I don't mind this Walmart. It's not your typical "people of Walmart crazy zoo of a store". Perhaps because it's located in Carlsbad, who knows. I come here when I need something quick, and quick is what you get. This store is cleaner than most and employees are helpful and nice. The parking lot is always nuts, but never fail to find parking. You may have a walk but it's a HUGE lot. New law is they don't give bags so when you're doing a self checkout, don't forget a bag. I forgot and didn't realize I was loading my cart back up with multiple necessities. This store is also considered a "super" Walmart because they have a grocery section. It's pretty big.. You shouldn't have a problem finding exactly what you need. Walmart is Walmart, there isn't much to say, but I like this location. read more

I'm not a big fan of Walmart and each time I visit, I understand why...the workers here might as well be robots; they're not friendly, helpful or even try to pretend they want to be there. The only reason my two visits were needed is because I was looking to purchase wide mouth mason jars and they are the only ones around that carried them. My mom bought a step stool and lost it in the Walmart parking lot. She went to go ask for it and the employee's were extremely rude to her and put her down for loosing it. My mom suffers from major anxiety and depression and the situation made her feel emotional sick afterwards. I went back in to talk to them myself and it wasn't until then that they finally got the manager to check on the camera. So apparently someone stole it from our cart but because it happened outside the store Walmart does not reimburse. While I understand it may not be Walmarts fault for some else stealing that does not give them a reason to show disrespect to their customers especially after paying for over $200 worth of groceries. There should have been some kind of nice gesture to show that they at least cared about our lost purchase but none was given and they made us feel like garbage. I cannot believe I am giving a Walmart store a perfect review but this one deserves it lol. Like some have said, maybe it's because it's in a nice area but this is the least scuzzy Walmart that I have ever been to in my life. It does not feel like you will run into people in low income housing here. I also saw products here that I have never seen at other Walmarts such as certain sandwiches and Panko crumbs (a particular brand). I went on a Saturday afternoon which I'm assuming is the worst time to go to Walmart but it didn't feel that crowded. The parking lot was full but still enough spots. Self check out was a breeze too. I live 40 minutes away so I doubt I will come back to this location. I just passed it on my way from picking up lamps from someone's house off Craigslist LOL. read more

Well okay I'm a bit biased as I'm fairly anti-Walmart, and coming here for the first time a couple of weeks ago didn't leave me feeling any different. This store is too small to be a useful Wal-Mart and the layout is very peculiar. I couldn't find half of the stuff I needed and went there specifically for because it's just so small. They definitely focused more on the grocery section than the other sections. The lady that checked me out was nice - yet somehow one of my items didn't make it make home with me which required a second trip back to the store the following day. They were friendly in customer service after ignoring me for a moment and gave me/let me have? a replacement item (how do you prove you don't have it when you don't have it???) Sorry Wal-mart - I'm just not a fan, and if I need to get something from you guys I'll go back to the one in Vista where it's remodeled and ginormous. read more

What more can you ask for for your home needs. TV's, toys, make up, kitchen gadgets and more. I come here for school supplies, a random lipstick or make-up. PJ bottoms, tees. Their aisles are large and if you look hard, you may find someone to help you. They have a return policy and a customer service area to do that. The lot is big so not usually hard to park. Why did I think this trip to WalMart would end any better than any other time I've been here? Now I remember why I avoid this store. I called ahead to inquire if they carried a particular product. I was forgotten on hold for a full 5 minutes, and after calling back I was transferred around to 4 different people who seemed totally baffled by my question, until the last person assured me they had it. When I got there, of course they didn't have it. I spoke with five different employees in the store, who had about 3 brain cells to share between them. I stood waiting for one clerk in the electronics dept. to check the stock on the computer, but he started doing something with price tags instead. "Did you give up on helping me?" "No, she's using my computer right now." I waited longer, until their conversation revealed that she was an off-duty employee who was using the clerk's computer to do personal shopping. I said, "Nevermind 'helping' me. I can get it from Amazon Prime faster than this." These people think they deserve a raise? I think they deserve a pay cut. C'mon WalMart, hire competent people and train them to do their jobs a little better. That kind of shoddy service doesn't fly here. read more

One of the cleanest and nicest Walmart's I've ever been too. That could be because it's fairly new. This location has only been open a few years but they've kept it very clean, except for the bathrooms. That's really the only negative thing about this location. Avoid the bathrooms at all costs, used them twice and both times they were filthy and disgusting! Some of the great things this location offers are fresh fruit and veggies, lots of food items including frozen food and canned/boxed food, books, DVDs, kids/adult clothing, towels, makeup, garden items and tools. There's a pharmacy on site but I've never used it so I couldn't tell you if it's nice or not. I would gage the size of this Walmart on the medium size, not the largest I've been too but not the smallest. Obviously they offer a ton of things for a reasonable price, friendly and helpful staff, so why wouldn't I shop here? Side note, self check outs for the win. Holy moly was I impressed with this store! I am a loyal Target fan who decided to stop by this Walmart (I was already in this plaza & Target is across the street) to grab some toilet papers. My experience with this store was so positive that I decided to write a review on it. My first impression of the store was the parking lot: practically empty. I thought that was weird because you'd expect more people stopping by before heading home from work at 5pm. I landed a spot right in the front with no problem. I was instantaneously mesmerized by how clean, quiet, AND organized this store is. You usually (at least for me) expect any Walmart to be messy, cluttered, and noisy. The store was much like the parking lot, empty at a time when you'd expect a lot of shoppers. I happily went up and down the aisles, grabbing not only the TP, but a bunch of things that I wouldn't have purchased if I was at a different Walmart. It was one of the best shopping experience I ever had at a Walmart and some Target, for that matter. Everything was neatly placed on the shelves. The electronics department was spotless! No dvds or books out of their places. Everything was neatly folded in the apparel department as well. I couldn't stop taking pictures because I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The cashier was nice too. He asked how I was doing and if I found everything okay. Even though I am still a Target girl at heart and would continue to make my weekly deposit there, I can't help but appreciate the excellent customer service that was provided. I only wish that all of the Walmarts would model after the Encinitas store. I will continue to come back to this store & and hopefully another pleasant trip. read more

Pharmacy: Looking for service? Look anywhere else, seriously these guys make the DMV look streamlined. I spent 5 yrs at the Kearny Mesa Pharmacy, never an issue on refills. Now, 3 yrs at this Encinitas location, and every time I have a refill it doesn't happen. Every time I end up calling the pharmacy, then the doctors office and then back to the pharmacy. Last Friday one of the clerks told me I need to call the doctor when my prescription was up for renewal. Really? So if I'm going your job, why do I need you? Really, gross incompetence at its best. Unfortunately the KM Walmart is no longer on my path, so I'm transferring to Costco, far less convenient hours but at least I wouldn't need heart medicine from this stress. Pros: Cheap prices, long pharmacy hours. Cons: the poster child for incompetence. Unfortunately for this Walmart, now I don't have a reason to shop here, as everything else is available everywhere. read more

Went in to return an item. There were 2 girls at the return counter. Three of us were in line waiting patiently. On the employees, there were no smiles, no 'I'll be right with you' and obviously no customer service training! PROS 1) Service desk staff very friendly 2) Close to my house 3) Low prices CONS 1) Smallest Walmart in San Diego and Coastal. (small! as mentioned by Heather W, Erin H, Raaaq, Tiffany W, q a, Frederick H) Other than the food department, every other department is about HALF the size of other Walmarts. Tools/hardware, and Automotive are teeny-tiney. And Electronics is way small. This Yelp listing says "SuperCenter" not sure why, wonder whether that's a Yelp mistake or if the store considers itself a SuperCenter. (yikes!) The real SuperCenter stores have a Deli and Bakery counter, and many other things that this store lacks. 2) No help around! You must always walk to the front and ask a cashier to page an employee, then walk back to the isle you were in, and wait, sometimes 5 minutes. The last time I waited, nobody came after 7 mins so I drove over to Target across the street. (btw Target has lots of employees everywhere, easy to get help!) 3) They close earlier than other Walmarts Many Walmarts are open 24 hrs. The others close at midnight. But this store closes at 11pm. read more

If you watch tv like I do they always show everything to be in perfect and spotless condition. Lol, even the Christmas episode of Duck Dynasty shows them at a Walmart with literally no one in there and isles free of screaming children and floors you can eat off of. I believe I have finally found the Walmart those commercials and shows are shot in. This place was quiet, clean and super friendly. Walmart prices in south Carlsbad / Encinitas ... whatever you think about this company you are not going to beat their prices. This used to be a Home Depot Expo and now is a gigantic Walmart. On the other side of the wall is the Rodeo drive of Carlsbad so to be getting this cheap of prices literally feet away from The Forum Carlsbad is a great value !!! Its basically like every other Walmart you have ever been to. The differences are that its a bit smaller than those new Mega Walmart's and it has really high ceilings. The building itself actually feels kind of empty but in general some good prices on basics. When you walk in they have a grocery section immediately to the right, I was a bit hesitant to get Groceries from Walmart, but I found some decent stuff at good prices and their Produce actually looked half decent. I'll go back for the basics - but anything else I am heading to Target or Costco for. read more
