Rather than trying to force my dog to swallow a pill or Risk pill lay in food, not eaten or being amazed, how tricky my dog could be at spitting out a pill, I sent my dog's prescription prescriptions here to be turned into a liquid. The dog would simply digest. I still have the usual issue that dogs don't love having their mouth open to put drops, but all of it would be consumed. Sometimes I could put it on a little bit of food. If you are needing to get medicine to a dog, please take the recommendation of most veterinarians that your dog is not grazing. Food should not be left out for the dog to eat at any time. This will allow you to give the dog medicine at meal time and also helps to maintain wheat and provide fresh quality food. The main focus of this Pharmacy is humans, but it is so simple to work with them and they have great flavor options for your pet. I didn't do this ahead, but maybe they will let you try the different flavors with your dog before the expense of compounding. I did find one or maybe two but the dog didn't appreciate as much as others. read more

The second bottle of Hormone therapy I received made me feel sick. I was sent a replacement bottle. The replacement bottle was good and everything was fine. I called to get my next prescription filled and was denied service and was accused of using the bottle of medication that made me sick. Dieter Steinmetz is rude and very unprofessional. How rude of him to assume that I used the bottle of medication that made me sick. Why would I use something that made me sick? That's crazy. He will not admit that someone at his office could have made a mistake in the preparation of the hormone medication. I believe the second bottle of medication was made incorrectly. Something was definitely wrong with that bottle of medication that made me feel sick. I don't have any health issues and I went to the doctor to have blood work done to prove it. All blood work looks good. I was seriously thinking about switching to a different pharmacy and you made that decision easy for me. I should not have considered giving your pharmacy a second chance. The atmosphere in this place is so amazing. It felt like everyone liked working with each other and everyone was knowledgeable and friendly. I left feeling like I was in a scene from It's A Wonderful life (before the bank closes. When things were easy and happy). Anyways, I needed a prescription for my kitten Cove. A different type of antibiotic that required it to be freshly made. They offered 2 flavors of chicken or tuna for Cove. Was pretty stoked about that because she's absolutely not a fan of tuna. Normally pickup is next day, but because they are closed on the weekends I waited until Monday to pick up. I was given very clear instructions and an extra syringe just Incase. I already posted a review on The Pharmary's website, but here is a Yelp review. This is as much for people considering hormone replacement as it is for this business! Hormone replacement is "da bomb." When I was going through peri menopause, I had elbow pain. Hormone replacement for four months solved that problem. Years later, feeling weaker, I wondered if HRT could help. The new OBGYN I had wouldn't even discuss it with me -- so I'm now looking for a different OBGYN. Luckily, my GP, the fabulous Dr. Perrin J. Curran, was willing to discuss HRT, and wrote me a prescription to get some. He sent me to Dieter at The Pharmary on The Coast Highway in South Oceanside to get the prescription filled. Dieter asks you various questions so he can figure out the right blend of compounds to put into a cream that is applied to the skin. After you use it for a set amount of time, Dieter checks in with you to see if it needs to be tweaked. OMG, I opted for HRT with the idea it might improve my muscular strength, and I had no idea the impact it could gave in my brain! About four days after I began using the compounded cream, I had a very noticeable improvement in my short term memory! In a relatively short amount of time, I also noticed improvement in my long-term memory and in urinary continence. I only wish I had realized during my mother's life how much HRT might have improved her well-being, too. If you are going into peri menopause or are already in menopause, I urge you to look into HRT. If your OBGYN refuses to discuss it with you, find someone who will! And I highly recommend The Pharmary in Oceanside, because Dieter clearly understands hormones. -- although his attitude toward vaccines needs some work -- not all vaccines are equally safe and effective! We consumers need to defend the right of compounding pharmacies to exist (Big Pharma wants them gone) because human beings and other animals are not fungible and we therefore need medicines compounded for our specific needs. read more

Awesome and unique pharmacy! My doctor recommended The Pharmary for my hormone replacement and dhea because they specialize in bioidentical hormones and custom compound meds. Spent twenty minutes with the pharmacist asking questions and got my meds days later. Can't tell you how easy and nice they are every time I call. This is the way businesses should be, caring, personal, and professional. I needed corn-free medication to take after major surgery. Other pharmacists had said it could not be done. Some folks tried to imply that I COULDN'T be reacting to corn, because "all the corn had been processed out and it wasn't corn anymore". Well, my body wasn't fooled. Coast Compounding Pharmacy had the answer. Trying to find a solution that was corn/wheat/soy free involved several conversations on the phone, because corn hides behind dozens of derivatives and is EVERYWHERE.
