This Rite Aid is the nearest drugstore to where I live; it has everything I've ever gone in for. No complaints there. The only downsides to this location really has nothing to do with Rite Aid itself, but the City of Oceanside. It seems like this location is a harbor for transients and drug users. There's always some meth head roaming around or legit walking around the store looting and nothing is done to stop it. Makes me want to throw my morals and caution into the wind and just go on a "shopping spree". But, I'd totally get arrested. Yeah, so aside from that, great Rite Aid. read more

VERY hit or miss! Sometimes, I go in there, find everything I need, and am out the door right away. Other times, they are poorly stocked and short staffed. Yesterday, there seemed to be only two people working the store. One was helping customers with the Thrifty ice cream, which I love that they have, but the other worker was no where to be found. Five other customers and I were waiting in the checkout line for about 10 minutes, with no one working the registers. Finally the ice cream lady got on the intercom to the back room/break room, and called for help. This guy comes out on his phone, and begins ringing us up on 3 different registers. It was nice that he got the line moving, but he wasn't personable at all. Got what I needed, and the location is convenient. But I try to avoid coming here if I can. read more

I went in this Rite Aid to purchase dig shampoo and nail clippers. Lots of barren shelves. No clippers or shampoo which should be fairly standard items... Manager and staff were very kind when my elderly Mom and I arrived for her vaccination. Seeing Mom on oxygen they assisted us in getting her to a seat near a plug and then saw her as quickly as possible. I've been using this pharmacy for years and know the staff members by name. They're always pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately today I had an unpleasant experience with a new employee named Michelle. SHE REFUSED to get my prescription when I asked why I had to give her my full date of birth. I had never been asked that before, normally they just ask the month and day! All I did was ask!!! She walked away and refused to provide service to a long term customer! I hope she changes her attitude or finds a job where she doesn't have to interact with customers! read more

The pharmacy technician named Kisha is an absolute angel! Came to pick up prescriptions but there were issues with my insurance. Decided to just pay out of pocket with GoodRX coupons. The pharmacists weee waiting to perform the refills until the payment got sorted out - and she helped out so much by having them expedite the refills for me after I decided to pay out of pocket. The five stars for this review is for one reason - Michelangelo. Hands down, he is the best retail employee I have ever seen. He knows exactly where everything is, he greets everyone who walks through the door and he says goodbye to everyone as they leave. I have never seen a better representative for retail sales. If Rite Aid were smart, they would make this guy an executive and put him on the board. If you've ever read any of my reviews, you'll know that the most important thing in my opinion is good customer service. Michelangelo provides that for this Rite Aid, and they should be so lucky. Popped in here to quickly grab some sunscreen and aloe. Turned into a NIGHTMARE trying to find aloe. 2 employees and 30 minutes later, never found pure aloe. Eventually, I found it walking out of the store. They have sales and special rewards but you have to sign up for their Wellness+ program which is free but man is it annoying. The prices are definitely better at a larger store like Walmart or Target but it's all about convenience. Unfortunately, with lack of knowledgeable staff and only one cashier, it wasn't very convenient. I'm come again in a pinch but I'd much rather go elsewhere. read more

I don't write reviews often but this rite aid pharmacy is absolutely horrible. Went to the store twice in one day, & not ready. Mind you that was 6 hours in between each visit. and then had to wait till the next day. Call the next morning around 10:30 am and it's still not ready. Why is it taking over 24 hours ? Then I finally get there and I can't even get the meds because the pharmacist isn't there so I have to come back for a 4th time. Will never use this pharmacy and I suggest everyone else does the same if you don't wanna waste your time. Also don't bother calling the pharmacy. It took over 3 times for them to answer the phone. Update: they gave me the wrong pill amount on top of it all. Do not come here. read more

Service is awful. Only 1 employee working the registers with lots of customers waiting for an extended period of time. Waited about 20 minutes just for the only employee at the front register to help us out. The lack of employment at this establishment is outrageous and embarrassing. No one seems to care and no manager is sight and if there is he/she obviously doesn't know how to manage and do their job correctly. Surprised this place is still even open for business. That 1 person that helped me and the customers out should be getting a raise for busting her tail while no one else can help her out, especially because she was an older women that can't work as fast but is trying her best to help wherever she can because management can't send her any help. read more

I love Rite Aid.. Please don't shut down this store or sell out to CVS whom we boycott. Now this particular store has some questionable employees and I believe is the cause for the bad reviews. My grandparents get all their meds from their pharmacy and vaccinations as well. The store needs to hire better qualified employees. The Oceanside Rite aid hire rude, lazy employees whom refuse to service the ice cream counter and have the store unkept with merchandise laying on the floor! Please replace your employees and problem solved! Your Carlsbad location on Encinas Blvd is clean well managed and have excellent customer service. Carlsbad has two Rite Aids the one on Tamarack has the similar problem as the Oceanside store, Its dirty unkept and they also refuse to service the ice cream counter. Great frontend employees, my experience was great! The manager helped me find what I was looking for,she even ask if I needed anymore help

I have been going to this Rite Aid for 5 years. They seem to be trying, but yesterday was the last straw. Called an RX in for refill, of which the bottle stated 2 of, until 2023. The recording tells me I am out and they need to contact the Dr. I give them 2 full days to get it figured out. No phone call, nothing. So I call. I get out on hold for over 5 minutes. Just to be told my add canceled the RX. This is an RX that you can. It just stop, it has to been lowered first. Call my Dr office this morning and " the RX is good, Dr just needs to renew it. I will put an urgent order in for you" I don't know if you just need more people or need to do a better job of hiring. But you can not mess with peoples medications! No phone call to let me know what was going, no follow up. read more

The people at Rite Aid are nice and patient, location is clean and conveniently located. Unfortunately picking up at the pharmacy has been generally inconvenient for me. I've lost track of the number of times I've had make more than one trip to pick up a prescription. The pharmacist takes her lunch at the same time when I have have time to go to the pharmacy. Since they let me know when she's generally out I've been showing up later when picking up new prescriptions. Unfortunately I incorrectly assumed that I'd be OK picking up something I've been getting for the last year. It's aggravating to wait in line, see everything packed up, pay for it, and then be told it's considered a new prescription and not a refill. Now I need to go back and wait again to have the pharmacist spend 3 seconds to verify that I've had the Rx before. I'm sure there's a legal reason for it, but there's got to be a better way. My insurance company keeps bugging me to use their Rx by mail service, which I'll probably start doing. To avoid a waste of time, don't try to pick up a prescription between 1 and 2 pm! (Or go somewhere else.) read more

The customer service in this rite aid is terrible. It's also very ghetto. People walk in and out with stuff and it always looks disorganized with empty shelves. The freezer is always broken and the ice cream counter takes precedence over the long waits in the cashier line. The only nice cashier that was there is not anymore. Cashiers are mean and look like they hate their jobs. I had one cashier say something really terrible to me. One yelled at me and another doesn't say a word to me whenever I cash out. Rite aid you need to provide leadership and customer service training for your cashiers or give them a raise to make them happy. I don't understand why this rite aid has so much turnover and terrible service. read more

Their photo kiosk is still down. The place is disorganized and there is a foul smell in the vitamin section (maybe it has something to do with the dirty bathrooms). It's apparent that this store doesn't restock often. On top of which, Riteaid has always been on the more pricy end when it comes to vitamins and cosmetics. In the end, I would recommend taking the extra time and effort to drive to the CVS off of the Oceanside exit. It's always clean and well stocked. read more

If it were possible to give this Rite Aid at 1201 Coast Highway in Oceanside less than one star, as in a negative star, I would. Do not come here, unless you have absolutely nowhere else to go. The pharmacy staff is rude, unhelpful, does not honor appointments to get a vaccine. Originally, I was reviewing the store online and it said that walk-ins could get the vaccine. So I walked in. And was told after 10 minutes of waiting, but I had to have an appointment. So I made an appointment for 2 to 3 hours later and that appointment was not honored. Instead, after I waited for 15 minutes, the pharmacist told me that she was going to honor everyone walking in the store and standing in line (after me) before she would give me the vaccine. That is insane. No one should be treated like that and I'm sure, she certainly would not want to be treated like that if she were a patient or a pharmacy customer. Then I was trying to be polite, and start a friendly conversation, and employee straight up ignored me. Then the other employees were bringing pallets, and almost hit us with their pallet jacks. This Rite Aid racially profiled my Mexican friend as he left here yesterday evening while on a delivery for a local pizza place, looking for a 2-liter of soda and walked back out when found they did not have any. He was followed out to his car by the employees and they accused him of stealing. He was wearing his work uniform with the car topper on as a pizza delivery driver. Sent one prescription here and will NEVER make that mistake again. Was told to come back because they didn't have my prescription "in stock". Asked my Doctor and was told the opposite, that when he called the prescription in they said it would be ready in an hour. 4 stars for a Rite Aid? This Rite Aid always has an interesting mix of customers.... homeless, drunks, folks on vacation, drunk homeless, people who love ice cream (!!), drunks seeking snacks.... But the staff here is exceptional. Every time I've come in, the staff in the aisles are really helpful and the cashiers go out of their way to give you the best discounts. Even with a line of surly drunks, they will take the time to make sure you get the best price. Working retail in general sucks, working in this type of environment must really suck, but they are still pleasant and friendly. read more

This review is for the older lady with long hair and glasses that always helps me out at the counter. She treats you like one of her own. Polite, positive no matter the situation, very knowledgeable, etc. She is an excellent example of how a person should be both in and out of work. She is a person who is worth well beyond what is being paid. I would like to say thank you to all the times you have provided help and opinions on products and items I have had questions or concerns about. As far as the pharmacy, I would rate it as a 3 star, It seems very disorganized in the back and I have to continually remind them to refill my prescriptions when my stuff has been set to auto refill.
