CVS Pharmacy is a great resource for me when I can't find what I need from other stores. I needed to pick up some things last night at my local CVS Pharmacy Store. Both of my arms are all sunburned from sitting out by the pool and I wasn't wearing sunscreen. CVS Pharmacy was the only drug store that had their Aloe Vera Gel in stock. The price was $6.29 for a pump bottle for this .Aloe Vera Gel. This Aloe Vera Gel will provide me with a cooling sensation to ease my sunburn. I also bought 2 Wet and Wild (Black) Gel Eyeliner Pencil. The price was $6.79 each. The total for 2 eyeliner pencils is $13.58. Then I bought one Rose shade Blush. The price is $2.19. The final item I bought was the Blush Brush. the price is $8.00. My total bill was $17.28. I enjoy shopping at this CVS Pharmacy location due to their cashier like Mata is always very helpful in finding the product that I need most and she is also has an upbeat positive attitude. I seriously don't understand how this young man made it through the hiring process unless the Talent Acquisition managers are no longer using STAR or behavioral assessments for new hires. We were in Oceanside / Encinitas recently to attend the memorial services for a family member. We somehow rushed our trip preparations and forgot some items at home. Also, the rental house where we were staying didn't have basics like bar soap (?! - what?) and a few other key comfort needs. A CVS run was needed. This particular location was near the freeway, and maybe that's part of their challenge. They have to keep a lot of items locked away. Would hate to think that they are victims of grab-and-go theft, but maybe that's the case. The whole store felt drab and depressing, from the cheap dirty gray carpet to some shelves that were barely stocked. The check out line has a weird maze pattern - the better to expose you to last minute impulse buying, I suppose. We asked about the availability of a travel mirror and were sent to wrong place. We ultimately found them ourselves, but passed due to really high prices for those particular items. I gave a light-hearted update to the associate about where we'd found the mirrors - somewhat close to where he'd sent us, but not in the same aisle. Thought he might like to know. Evidently, he didn't care, judging by his response. I remember remarking to Dear Hubby that when I first moved to Southern California many decades ago I was a confirmed Long's Drugs customer. I would drive past no less than five Savons to get to the nearest Long's in Tarzana. I found Savon stores to be disorganized, with poor displays, and a general lackluster feeling. Some years ago when CVS bought out Long's I hoped that they would keep the higher Long's standards going. It seems that over the years they've degraded bit by bit, and now many of them are looking as drab and dingy as the Savons I used to avoid. Sigh! read more

This place is a fine local choice: The pharmacy staff are attentive and swift. Beware pharmacy hours are shorter than the store. And there is a decent selection of items to purchase relative to the square footage of the place. I always find a parking space in their lot. The employees are kind. I have lived in many cities, and this location is one of the best. Remember to get your receipt for the coupons, awesome deals. I have to use a national pharmacy due to my speciality medications. CVS has made it easy to order and delivery has always been when it was convenient for me. Even medication that has to be refrigerated they have made it available for me to pick up at a store near me when I was not able to have it delivered to my house. They have always worked with me to get my prescriptions to me in a timely fashion. If you use a specialty pharmacy consider using CVS Specialty Pharmacy. I highly recommend them. read more

The CVS pharmacy at the Oceanside Boulevard location has a serious problem with aggressive panhandlers. The panhandlers and homeless camp out in front of the store underneath the overhang and they accost customers entering and exiting the store. Tonight I was accosted by a very aggressive female panhandler. I avoided her when I went inside to pick up my prescription but was accosted and verbally abused while walking to my car. She asked me if I had change but I avoid eye contact, ignored her and walked quickly towards my car. Then she called me a "whore" across the parking lot I do not feel safe going to the store to pick up my prescriptions at this location any more. The management does NOTHING take action to ensure the safety of its customers and are too cheap to hire a security guard. No woman should have to feel coerced or pressured to give money to aggressive panhandler. Aggressive panhandlers behavior is just one step below mugging I will no longer do business at this location. read more

I think this review is important, because so many people give CVS bad reviews, because they have to wait in line, or the medicine they need isn't available when they really need it. I understand that, and it is unfortunate. But I also understand, that long lines, and not having the medicine available, is rarely their fault. Until we "walk in someone's shoes", it's better not to judge, or criticize. I'm giving a positive review because every time I have been at the pharmacy, every staff member has treated me with kindness, professionalism, helpfulness, and friendliness. I want to give a shout out to Shreya. She is the Pharmacy associate that usually helps me at the register. She is such a sweetheart! I always look forward to having her ring me up at the register, and help me with my prescriptions. it's associates like her, as well as specific ones at the retail counter, that make going to CVS a lot easier and rewarding! I will come back with compliments for other specific associates later, on this review, because I can't remember the name of a certain associate that helps me in the retail counter actually three of them, that I would like to personally thank publicly for their kindness, professionalism and helpfulness. There's no perfect place, or perfect person, but I do know that this pharmacy that I go to on Oceanside Blvd., has wonderful staff . Every once in a while, you might get a bad "weed", in the mix of all the "lovely flowers", but that's how it is in life with families, and businesses. It's best to appreciate all the lovelies. I've had difficulty in the past with trying to talk to someone in the pharmacy. One time, I waited for about 30 mintues, when someone answered the phone and immediately hung up on me. I think they may have said hello before hanging up. Today I called, as a courtesy, to let them know that the Rx they prepared for me was called into the wrong pharmacy. I want to give praise on the service at the cash register that Ricardo provides. He greets each customer in a very friendly way and seems genuinely happy to be at work. Came in to get a flu shot and found expired orange juice sitting on the shelf. It was brown, it should be orange maybe?? That was not the only expired product they had on the shelf within arms length. I think I will go to an urgent care instead. If they are willing to keep expired product on the shelf that has obviously gone bad, how clean is the rest of the place? The pharmacy techs don't know how to use a calculator. For a prescription that requires 3 pills 3 times a day they only put 90 pills in the bottle. Instead of 270. And they even print out the label saying 90. I'm pretty sure basic calculator skills are required for pharmacy tech school. read more

The first thing I noticed was that the store needed to be vacuumed! It looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in some days! I was looking through the school pack backs. I found one I liked but to my dismay, it was super dusty and was all marked up on the side and back. I talked to the cashier about it and asked if they had any clean ones in the back. They didn't. I don't know if it's just this branch or if it is company wide. I have never been treated as horribly as I have at this retail pharmacy. Today it Alexia a 20 something person with attitude to spare. I had no idea Karen's could be do young. All I did was (with a smile and a soft tone) try to explain that this was the second time they tried to use the wrong RX code doubling the price and that waiting an extra 10 minutes once was ok. Month after month was not. She can mediately took offense and told me she didn't like my tone. Then proceeded to patronize me like I was an idiot. I politely asked that she stop speaking to me like a child and she said "respect is earned from me" I wished her a good day because and said good by. I was taught differently. That respect should be given to all. In retail respect is expected by paying patrons. Two months ago a blonde older lady was even more rude. She announced my prescription to the whole store and when I asked if that was standard protocol she said that it was. I've been going to CVS for 15 years here in Oceanside and never had an experience that was this horrible just in the last 6 months or so. I was literally on hold for a full hour before someone picked up just to tell me they don't know how to transfer a prescription and put me back on hold. I was on hold for another 20 minutes before I gave up on getting my prescriptions and hung up. Literally just drive to a farther CVS and you will get service faster. read more

Unprofessional to a degree I've never experienced before. Cashiers are rude (all I've encountered) and curbside pickup is a joke. You have to go in and wait in long lines and no cashiers know how to process the orders without management help. Manager asked me to call back regarding my curbside pickup experience and tried to reach him 7 TIMES even when I was told he was there was too busy to take the call. Shelves aren't stocked, prices too high, extracare machine always broken. Don't recommend. Better off taking your business elsewhere. The pharmacy is slower than a glacier. There's a lot of motion among the employees but the wait is huge so I don't what they are doing. I was told 20 minutes and it took closer to 40. This review is purely from the aspect of the pharmacy. No one had there stuff together back there. There is little to no communication between the techs and the pharmacists. This leads to a line that literally goes down one full isle! If you need more help hire more people and while your at it could they be a bit friendlier. They say something's ready and surprise you get there and it's not. Better yet they wait 2 days to call your primary care doctor to verify and then shockingly when it's Friday at 4pm My doctors not there. 2 days they waited 2 days. So I was without my thyroid meds for the weekend. Awesome. I would have given them 1 star but there are 2 employees that are really trying and you can tell they know it's a miserable cluster. Good location right off the interstate and co-located in a parking lot with Ralph's, Blockbuster, and Papa John's Pizza. They have a lot of random stuff here, but for the most part, they almost always have what I need. The only bad thing, which is the same for any store in that center, is that the entrance to that parking lot is terrible for small cars. It is very steep, and on multiple occasions I have scraped the bottom of my car entering and exiting the lot. I have also been in an accident at that junction, which now causes me to use the alternate entrance at the red light. So, if you drive a compact and have no desire to be T-boned by an on-coming car while entering or rear-ended by someone who can't drive a stick, drive the extra 150 ft to the light and make a left. read more

Standard CVS but had to wait in line for quite some time... so much time I almost thought about leaving the store. The store seems pretty cramped, especially when you enter it seems like you are thrust straight into the beauty section whether you want to be or not. The shelves seemed pretty well-stocked and it seemed relatively clean throughout. Service was friendly, and the cashier quickly corrected my total when I noticed one of my coupons didn't take. She didn't seem put out doing that either, which IMO is a first because it always seems like they are annoyed by the very coupons that draw you into the store to begin with. Nothing to rave about and nothing to complain about really... just run-of-the-mill CVS. read more
