I had horrible customer service at this store yesterday and as a result I have canceled my Extracare Plus, will not visit this store ever again, and likely will quit CVS altogether for an alternative. On speaking to people and doing some research it seems what I experienced was not just down to individual staff rudeness bitt more a symptom of overall CVS issues people across the country are experiencing, especially related to poor and under-staffing. This is the absolute worst location I have ever been to. It's dirty. Disorganized. The pharmacist is rude, ignores the customers and brushes them off. The "stoner" behind the desk is flippant and "forgets" to notify you when your prescriptions are ready. Then, when you're ready to pick up your prescriptions, they suddenly have to "go on break." Then, when you come back another day, the clerk behind the desk, "Merette(sp?), is cussing and chatting with customers about how to make Meth. Actual, cussing out loud in front of customers, talking about how to make drugs with Sudafed. Each employee behind the counter of the pharmacy seems like they're wanting to fight. They all have attitude, even when you're trying to be patient, and they all seem annoyed at all the customers. I cut my hand and went to CVS to buy hydrocolloid bandage that I was told would heal my hand quickly using medicare otc card to pay for it. Instead of healing my hand, it made it much worse. The bandages were $7.60. Instead of doing a refund with the reciept the clerk told me I had to take a store credit....for a store that is overpriced and I'd end up losing more money because what I bought wouldn't come to that total. Wasted 15 min. with CVS customer relations only to be told they didn't even have to do that, she said I should have been offered CVS bucks....WTH? I couldn't find my medication in all the nearby pharmacies and my online pharmacy was out of stock as well. My stress level was going up so I decided to call every single pharmacy within 20 miles. I left bunch of messages and a very sweet young lady returned my call from this particular CVS. She said they had one box available (which is what I needed). I asked her to hold it and that I would have my doctor send my prescription to them electronically. They put a rush on my prescription as I had told them that I was going to be leaving town. Every single person at this pharmacy is welcoming, professional, helpful and very informative. I've gotten my immunizations here before as well. I liked how helpful and professional they all were that I will begin using this pharmacy regularly. read more

Just a heads-up: if you're a person of color, especially if you're Black, you may be followed around the store. At self-checkout, employees might go through your bag under the pretense of helping, but it's clear they're checking to see if you stole anything. New and old employees need to learn customer service skills. They are extremely uneducated on current conforming of LGBTQ+ patients and discriminate against them. Me and multiple people have found this to be an occurrence, unfortunately. Tolerance needs to be taught, which is disappointing but necessary. The pharmacy is so slow. The cashiers are always helpful but I cannot stress enough that the PHARMACY has the worst service I have ever seen. I have seen elderly women berated by the middle-aged blonde Manette or whatever. This woman is so unnecessarily rude to both other employees and customers. She is obnoxiously loud and uses foul language in front of customers. I have called corporate about this individual already and next time I go in, if she is acting with the same behavior, I won't hesitate to call again. I recently moved to LSM and prior to the move have always had great experiences with CVS for vaccinations, prescriptions, and miscellaneous purchases. Unfortunately, I have had bad experiences with this CVS. I went in early September for my flu and 2nd shingles shot. Unfortunately, the person who administered the shots, hit my cartilage and I developed SIRVA (Shoulder Injury Related to Vaccine Administration). It has now been over two months and after visits to Orthopedic Dr and physical therapist, I am still in pain and have limited motion in my left arm. Today, I went to pick up some prescriptions related to my injury and decided I should let the CVS Pharmacy Manager on shift know why I needed them. Having a career in HR, my first response would always be "I am so sorry you are experiencing pain in your shoulder", NOT "Did you report it?" And then hand me a card with a number on how to do that. Absolutely no empathy at all. This was after I waited in a long line to pick up my prescription and then was told I needed to have a "consult". Another 10+ minutes later I spoke with the Pharmacist (Manager) who didn't provide any new information to me. I will not return to this CVS based on my last few experiences. read more

Today I went in to pick up a prescription.....CVS Ranch Sante Fe Rd. Got there early and waited for them to open. Tons of laughter behind the steel door and when they finally came out to open the pharmacy not one smile was seen on anybody's face. I was picking prescription for a friend and after being given a few nasty comments, I was told to step aside to get his insurance information, etc. which i did. Once she entered info she told me that it would be 15 minutes before it would be ready.. I've picked up several RXs here before and it's been hit or miss with the pharmacists. Most of them can significantly benefit from learning some empathy and basic customer service skills. In particular, this weekend we had two NEW prescriptions filled. Fernando checked us out without even a "hello" or "how can I help you?" He just stood there waiting for us to walk up, without prompting after having a heated exchange with the customer before us. She was upset because he had failed to ask her for any insurance, causing her to have to pay more than necessary. Similarly, he never asked us for ours. Nor did he even ask us if we wanted to go over the new prescriptions with a pharmacist. Instead, he continued to talk LOUDLY about filing a complaint with CVS regarding the customer in front who had called him out for his lack of communication. He and another worker went back and forth about it. Entirely unprofessional, and it resulted in then us also having a less than complete experience with our own pick up. No "thank you" or "take care," "have a nice day" either. Just handed over the RXs and my partner said the common, "thank you" before Fernando responded with, "you're welcome." Yeah, okay, thanks for doing literally the BARE MINIMUM with someone's prescriptions and allowing them to leave without any sort of actual help. Great. read more

CVS y mas on Mission, Really upset that they don't stock up on my medication which I get filled every month. They ended sending my prescription to the CVS on Rancho Santa Fe. I was really upset because it's really far from my house and 2 they don't have drive thru. And to top it off I got there and the same thing they had to order the medication because they were out. When you're in pain, you don't want to be chasing your medication! If you deal with chronic pain, or any on going health conditions you build a team ! And a trust worthy pharmacy is a must! How are you supposed to know that after your Doctor does his job and sends the monthly prescription to CVS pharmacy, they don't order enough to make sure it's refilled in time. Like I said I have been goin every month! So it's not a random prescription! As Pharmacist they should know how painful chronic pain is! And what's worse if you suddenly stop taking a medication it causes other side effects! For this reason I left to a smaller pharmacy. The CVS pharmacy on Rancho Santa Fe Rd San Marcos needs to be avoided at all costs. The line is at least 12 people in line all the time. The clerks are very rude, and the place is dirty. The online program they ask you to sign up for is not updated. It takes a very long time to get them to answer the phone and when they do they are extremely rude...especially the women who works there. She claims they are doing everything to help me get a prescription that was sent in over a week ago that I need in order to breathe. I get alerts on my phone that I call in on and when I did, she admitted they are not correct and the message is outdated. I reached out for approval from my insurance and they called it in yesterday. Horrible pharmacy. Don't waste your time coming here. I was trying to transfer my prescriptions through the app and it wouldn't let two of them go through. So I called and got a lady on the phone who was literally too incompetent to answer my question of....How do people transfer these meds? Seems like a simple enough question. Not for this place. Her being annoyed with my frustration hung up on me. When I called back I got a guy named Chris on the line who was also unable to answer the question....How does someone transfer these meds? Customer service is NOT their thing. Knowledge is NOT their thing. People don't go to pharmacies for a haircut and highlights. This is peoples health they don't seem to care about. I just don't know why I continue to come here the customer service is terrible. The pharmacy always is the worst. Prescription get called in and hours pass and you show up and it hasn't even been worked on. I have been told my prescription will be ready in 5 minutes only to wait 30. I have used this pharmacy for years, but the new pharmacist I have spoken to over the last 3 days was the rudest person I have ever spoken to. I put a transfer Rx order on the cvs app with all the information required. I received confirmation from cvs by email. Later I got an email from cvs asking for me to contact the pharmacy. When I did this woman repeats they do not have a request. She actually hung up on me when I tried to explain. I went around and around over 3 separate calls with no conclusion. They have extensive wait times. My prescription was faxed in. I called 45 min later and was put on hold for 13 minutes. I was expecting the news that it was ready. Technician informed me they hadn't even started it. I said I need it in 20 minutes - or forget it. Technician said, "well come on over. The line is long. By the time your up, it should be done." I went grocery shopping and arrived about 30 minutes later. Still a long line. Oh well. Lucky I'm not so sick I can't stand in line for 20+ minutes. read more

I visit the CVS pharmacy because of its convenience to get back on the interstate. But one thing I do not understand is one particular employee...a younger girl who works the cash register and stocks the shelves. I have never encountered anyone as rude as this one person since I've moved to California. This CVS got a make over a few years ago but the inside already seems a little outdated - i'm pretty sure the updates were all outside and cosmetic. Whatever the case, I don't mind this CVS. It's somewhat near the house so I'm able to pick up a few misc. items here and there. I personally don't care for how they have their cashier desk set up though - and this goes for all the CVS' in the area. Where does the line start and end? And while I've never seen two cashiers working at the same time, it just seems like it would be a disaster if busy. This strip mall shares space with random small restaurants, a new Del Taco and even a Citibank. The parking lot is never full so you can get in and out of it quickly. For a busy intersection, I'm quite surprised this CVS isn't busier. read more

Can I do less than one? I have tried CVS photo centers twice at two different locations. The Carlsbad by the mall lost my image and almost refused to pay me back. This one I sent in 22 images and they claimed I didn't click the right button. I called the help center online and they walked me through it so I DID. They switched me between two women who acted like they have zero idea what they were doing as well as they said my pictures I ordered would be delivered in 7 days when I talked to them on the phone saying I needed them Saturday. Once again I write a five star review for this CVS. It is incredibly busy, has a drive-through window and a shared parking lot that is very difficult to navigate and always crowded. I am consistently surprised by the speed and accuracy with which my orders are handled. The staff is warm, engaging and incredibly helpful.
