I just waited in the line at the drive up window for over an hour. They are doing Covid tests at the same window where one can pick up their meds. The two are not compatible. This CVS staff is great. It is ALWAYS busy and, of course, that isn't their fault- This location serves the greater La Costa area and between the drive through window, minute clinic and quite miscellaneous purchases it can be a zoo. Having said that, I am almost always greeted by Tyler at the prescription drop off window and he is excellent, compassionate, informative and humorous which, when dealing with medications and illness is appreciated. This CVS store/pharmacy is great! Staff prompt, courteous, accurate never a problem! The problem here are the customers GET OVER YOURSELVES!!! Why you have to be so rude is beyond me. I recently had the unpleasant experience of waiting in line with two of the most negative people I have ever heard speak in my life! They were plotting how to get ride of a nurse in a doctors office. The woman gave me her blog site info @dealsamoungus.com she asked me to post a review of her doctors office if I did she would send me free stuff. Ugh. The only reason I'm taking my time to review this pharmacy is because I've had enough negative experiences that I feel I must share. First, I love CVS as a whole- good selection, nice stores, and GREAT coupons/extra bucks. This location is less than a mile from my house so I always prefer to shop here for convenience sake. Second, the pharmacy staff is nice and helpful. However, that doesn't make up for the fact that my Rx's are ALWAYS wrong or not ready. For the second time in a row, I refilled my Rx via the app, received confirmation from the app as well as a follow-up email from the pharmacy saying when my order would be ready. When I arrived, on a time crunch, I was told that they don't have any order for me. I showed them my confirmations and they just literally shrugged it off and said, "sorry, the system doesn't work." After two months? FIX it then! While I was there (now waiting for my refill to be filled) a woman arrives with a very sick child to pick up penicillin that had been called in. The staff tells her, "sorry, we are out." She asks why they never called her- again they just shrug it off. She asks, "what do I do now? It's sat night and my doctors office is closed and he called this into you but you don't have it. Why didn't someone call me?!" They tell her- and I kid you not- "We'll order it for you." This poor momma bear almost comes unglued. She says, "I have a very sick child. I don't have time for you to order this! Do you have another location that can fill it? Not that I have time to run across town now, but what choice do I have?!" On a secondary note, how does a pharmacy run out of penicillin?! An unusual, rare drug? Ok. But the most common anti-biotic during winter/sick season? Who the heck is doing their ordering? Moral of the story, I will now be putting convenience aside and using another pharmacy further away to avoid this hassle. CVS- get your s!*t together, please. read more

Awful! I drove through the drive through today with my bike and they made me go inside to pick up my prescription even though there was no one else in line. They were rude about it too. I even beggingly explained that they had no bike parking and carrying in all my bags would have been a huge hassle. The guy just mockingly with a huge smile on his face made me go in. read more

This place is the worst. For one the parking is insane and it takes forever to find a spot because it's so congested. Also, the workers here are so rude, especially the big samoan looking guy with tattoos. He wouldn't let my boyfriend buy beer because he had an out of state license at the time. Another time my debit card wasn't working on his machine and he refused to try it on another register. I kept asking him to and finally he said he would call someone else up front to ring me on another machine. Then proceeded to take all of my items out of the bags and pretty much threw them across the counter at me. My card worked fine on the other register. This place really sucks. read more

I agree with most of the negative responses on here! Worst pharmacy I've been too! Horrible customer service! Delays in med fill! I'm a nurse and when I think about patient satisfaction this place is definitely lacking it! Don't come here expecting to find great care as you would when you enter a health care organization such as a hospital or office! This pharmacy is beyond inferior. Every single time I have the misfortune of picking up medicine here there is an issue. They have never been right on the timing quote and I have to wait an additional 15 to 30 minutes routinely. We switched to Target at the beginning of the year and now I remember why. My doctor inadvertently called in a prescription to this location and I had to go here again today and of course and sitting in my car waiting an additional 30 minutes now. This will be my last time ever. read more

I live really close by this CVS. So for little things it is great. Unfortunately, it has a terrible pharmacy. On a number of occasions I have had perscriptions called/faxed in and when I get there to pick them up, low and behold, they didn't get them! Then I have to wait for them to fill it. This is extremely frustrating to me becuase I usually have a 2 year old with me and if he is sick and the one I need the perscription for, then there is no way I'm going home and coming back later. Aside from that, the rest of the store is what a CVS should be. read more

There is always an issue at this place, parking is the least of it. The pharmacy mixes stuff up, and has left me a day late on a sick child's antibiotic. A few times I've had pricing wrong because of incorrect signing. And the minute clinic wait time is five hours later. Overall, drive a bit further to Walmart for a better experience. read more

This a very busy Pharmacy, and the people working behind the counter are focused and working hard to fill prescriptions. They usually have a lot of people working, and generally fill prescriptions fairly quickly. However, due to sheer volume there will sometimes be a wait. They will call your doc if I you are out of refills. If your insurance company won't cover a drug, they will call your doctor and ask them to write a script for a different brand or a generic. They will also work with discount cards the doc may provide for brand name drugs. With new prescriptions or new insurance cards, just go to the window on the left to get started, unless of course you doc called it in and your insurance is already in the system. They are very friendly, but may not be chatty if they are swamped and trying to keep prescriptions flowing. There is one young guy who could smile a little more, but he's OK too. Bottom line, two thumbs up! read more

This place is just ok. The cashiers are nice and friendly but are obviously overworked and short of extra help. And some of the management are lazy and have an attitude about them. Every time I go to get a juice there expired so I end up getting it elsewhere. Also, the man with the gloves is a complete creap. And I have seen him digging in the dumpsters out back so this also dieters me from this place. read more

First I like to say that I was about to switch to a completely different pharmacy that wasn't CVS. However, this particular pharmacy has the best staff. They are all always so helpful and try their best to do what they can in their scope of field. I've ran into a few problems every now and then, but they only happen when there's literally another customer who thinks that they're more special than the rest of us. Everyone goes to the pharmacy for a reason, so I think that no one should feel like they're more important everyone else standing in line. Plus, I always try to keep in mind that this place is extremely busy. Meaning that it's not like this small staff can remember the special requirements for the hundreds of people that get their medications at this pharmacy. The only thing that bothers me about CVS, and not at this store but CVS as a whole, is their system. I used to be extremely furious with the staff because their system isn't the first thing on my mind. I just see them and they tell me everything that's wrong or holding up me from receiving my prescriptions. After multiple problems, I blew a fuse and demanded answers. It was the day that I acted like one of those customers thinking that they're more important. Anyways, so I asked for a manager and the employee actually refused! I was flustered, but I could see that she was trying to calm me down, so instead I asked her why do I always seem to have a problem when picking up my meds. If I could only remember her name, she was EXTREMELY helpful. Literally the first thing she told me before I started shooting my questions was that it's more helpful to actually speak to one of them instead of relying on a computer to do everything. So I asked every single question possible and she answered every single one. Since then, I've had 0 - minimal problems getting prescriptions for myself and my family. read more

This place is very convenient for me because there is NOTHING else around and a very interesting experience every time. The people that work there seem to move in slow motion. I have stood in a line of people that has wrapped down an entire aisle almost to the back of the store before the one checker thinks it wise to call up another checker to help. The parking is horrendous when full...once you pull in far enough to look for a parking spot you get stuck and have to try and back out while dodging crazy drivers making it a big cluster *bleep*. I don't think that I would go there if I had another nearby choice. read more

i work and live next to this cvs. i dread the days i have to go in there. not only is the staff unfriendly but they are also slow. i always have to Waite in a line and it seems as if they have no sense of ergency. not to mention i asked an employee if they could help me and the response i got was "i guess" the only up side is i does have most of the products that i go in search for there. read more

Jaclyn F, I agree 100%. I come here for convenience but they NEVER, EVER get the prescription order correct or efficiently for my family of 3. Even when I hand deliver the prescription then wait, it takes forever and there have been times when they could not find the filled prescription. And when I use the drive-thru, I clog the line because they have made a mistake. 90% of the time they blame the doctor for not faxing or phoning the order but really they failed to check the fax/voice mail machines. UGH. SO frustrating--especially when you need a med pronto. I have transferred ALL of our prescriptions to Pharmaca at El Camino Real and Alga. Excellent service there. read more

I like this CVS pharmacy. They are very attentive to their customers and always make you calls in advance if you need a refill. Usually no lines. The staff is friendly and helpful if you need a new medication. I also like to buy there milk products. They are cheaper than in other stores. Cashiers are also very friendly. Not very helpful. When they didn't have a medication in stock, they said that they called to let us know...but, there was no evidence that they called. Then, I asked if they could find the medication at one of their other stores when I showed up to the pharmacy, but they said that they were too busy. I was disappointed in their customer service. It wasn't until I persisted that they called a nearby CVS, but they didn't have the medication in stock either. I didn't even bother to ask for any more help than that. I decided to go to a different pharmacy altogether. read more

This is the WORST pharmacy I have ever used. Mistake after mistake after mistake. "Just come back and we'll fix it later today" is the common response to yet another screw-up. Really terrible terrible service and absolutely no sense of the pain and cost they put their customers through by the mistakes they make. I even used the web-app to reorder two prescriptions and they still screwed it up. I am surprised they have not killed anyone yet. Save yourself and avoid at all costs. read more

I wish I could give less than one star, too. Since beginning of June, California accepted to sell over the counter birth control pills, and my 22 years old daughter wanted to know about it. I never had good experience with CVS pharmacies before, but this one is my neighborhood CVS, and I go there pretty often. I was hoping to have a better experience with their pharmacy. I won't even mention the outdated and dirty/messy look of it. Because it was so personal, I gave my daughter a little space, she is young and of course a little shy in these matters. When it was her turn, she asked to the lady at the counter about the over the counter birth control pills. The lady obviously had no idea, so she yelled at the top of her lungs to the other lady at the back that "this girl" is asking about the over the counter bc pills, if she knows anything about this. The other lady came to the counter and yelled at my daughter that she is misinformed and there is no such thing and they should stop coming with these rumors. It was as if she was begging for some free pills or something. ($450 for 3 months supply). My daughter became red till her ears and mumbled some sorry and left. I did not interfere, as she was embarrassed enough and I didn't want cause a big scene and traumatize her completely. We went straight to Vons pharmacy, (and it was bright and modern) where the lady at the counter explained everything about it to my daughter, filled the necessary forms and made the requested controls, and she got her pills. The people at the CVS La Costa are not only "misinformed" themselves (which is not acceptable for a pharmacy), for the extremely rude behavior and the nerve to yell at a customer for a legitimate question ( to a young woman about birth control on top of it) is disgusting beyond words. Not to mention CVS just lost $450 and a regular customer! read more

I have always found the staff to be courteous and very helpful. The store is not among the larger sites for CVS but appears to be quite well stocked for everything I have needed. The Pharmacists and technicians have alwayys been professional, patient and concerned that I am aware of what side effects and issues may exist with what has been subscribed...actually better info than what the docs offer. Wow, these are some scary reviews. I work in the same shopping center as this CVS, so I may be biased, but I have to fill a lot of perscriptions and they have a quick turnaround, so this store is my pharmacy of choice. The pharmacists are very caring and I never wait in line to drop off. If I come in midday on the weekend I can expect to wait in line to pick up. The store is well stocked and employees are on board with the company's liberal raincheck policy so I am never dissappointed. Cashiers are friendly, helpful, and efficient, though some more than others. One that works the graveyard shift is not always as helpful as possible and a little nervous about coupon policy, but nothing that the knowledgeable consumer can't handle and certainly adequate for the midnight snack or toilet paper run. The thing I love most is that when all the other Pharmacies in the area are closed for the evening this CVS is always there for me. I can count on them for middle of the night "behind the counter" decongestants or a last minute called in perscription from our pediatrician. I will always be true to this store because I can always count on it 24 hours a day. read more
