The pharmacy is not ADA accessible for persons with neurological conditions triggered by fluorescent lights. The pharmacy manager was unhelpful and combative about this issue to the point he called the police when reasonable accommodations were requested. It took the police to acquire our prescriptions. CHECK YOUR RX BEFORE PAYING!!! CVS in Atascadero has gone downhill even more since absorbing the Rite Aid store. They brought over some staff who were rude while working at Rite Aid, and who are rude at CVS. They are now handing over prescriptions in stapled bags and I found out AFTER paying that they put the wrong Rx in my bag. Went back to learn I could not return it, and Dan is even more stressed out and rude than ever these days - he said the only thing I could do was pay out of pocket for my actual Rx. WTF??? I just about had a fit. My prescription was over $50. The woman that rang me up, saw me panicking (Ssi/disability) and immediately worked to get it down.. When she was done, my cost was $2.40. I didn't get her name, but shout out to her! She works in the pharmacy in Atascadero and she saved my ***. Last time I went to the pharmacy, I wasn't treated nearly as well.. I have shopped at CVS in Atascadero for around 20 years. I appreciate the location and using the store coupons. However, I have noticed for around 3 years now, many shelf sale tags are misleading. I was there yesterday, and once again, when I bought cans of Blue dog food, with sale tags below, buy 1, get one 50% off, once again at the register, I was charged full price for each can. The girl at the register said no one roved sale tags yet. I never buy that dog food there typically, because it's at least a dollar less next door at Food 4 Less. Ongoing situation. read more

I did not expect to give a glowing review for CVS, and yet here we are. When Rite Aid closed, my prescription was transferred to CVS. I was honestly dreading it, based on a few underwhelming visits there in the last 5 years. As expected, they were swamped with new customers, but instead of poor service or an understaffed pharmacy, they were ready for the challenge. They responded quickly to my phone calls and my order was ready at the time promised. I'm hopeful that this approach continues in the future. Well done, CVS pharmacy staff! read more

Yikes the extreme couponers have hit this store!! I'm a semi couponer and noticed that most of the deals that an extreme couponer would hit are gone. I did noticed that most of those items were missing. Honestly, to me it make sense because this area has a high cost of living and people are trying stretch a dollar! Coming from a big city I'm having a hard time with the very little options of where to buy every day items without breaking the bank! Seriously people you guys dont have many options when it comes to shopping! DONT get me started on gas prices. Awful customer service. I went to check out at the scanners, but the scanner said that I needed an associate to check an item. Waited about 10 minutes and no help came. I then tried the regular checkout. There were 4 customers in front of me and only one clerk. The clerk didn't know how to checkout an item for the front customer. She kept ringing for help and no help came. Instead of having the customers step aside until the issue could be solved, we all waited. After 20 minutes, I gave up and tried checking out at the pharmacy. The clerk there kept having people whose prescriptions were ready step to the front of the line so the line never moved. Eventually, I got to the front and the clerk said that I couldn't checkout unless I had a prescription. After 45 minutes of waiting, there was literally no way to checkout. I was in this store the other evening looking for 2 items, the pharmacist was talking to a customer using the F word, not in anger just in conversation then after the customer left he said the F word again. Very unprofessional! Then I asked a pharmacy tech were an item was and she told me in a very rude and disturbed tone. I was in the aisle I was directed to and the other tech walked by, I started to ask where the item was but she told me " I am going to the bathroom. When she came out she didn't say, Im sorry can I help you now? At the front of the store a male clerk was sitting down stocking a display talking to a customer that was describing her recent arrest and how terrible things were. Went in for a COVID booster. Had a reservation. The pharmacy employee was ill trained, did not know how to fill out the paperwork, insisted I needed my physical card, and not the government info w QR code that also showed vaccine dates. Ultimately, the pharmacy employee recommended I try Walgreens, which I did. Thank you for that recommendation. I will avoid ever going into a CVS store ever again, anywhere. BTW, Walgreens was pleasant, accepted the vaccine.gov data and screenshot of my vacation records. read more

While I was waiting in line, I saw a customer who was upset about her prescription. As soon as the tech was done interacting with her, she helped me next. She obviously was affected by the incident and started treating me rudely and having a very bad tone in her voice. I understand that some people are hard to deal with, but don't treat the next customer horrible because you take things personally. I love this pharmacy! The line is never long, and the pharmacist is knowledgeable. My son has various prescriptions he is on and I sometimes am not sure about whether or not an over the counter medication is safe to give him and the pharmacist is always willing to help. Longer hours would be more convenient, but the service is so great that I still choose this pharmacy over the others in town. Thanks CVS pharmacy department! You guys are great! read more

I always get a text message from Cvs telling me my prescription is ready, I get there, it's NOT ready, wtf. Why/how do I get a text from them? Happens repeatedly! So effing annoying!!!! The cashier at the pharmacy told me "we have no control over the messages, it happens all the time ". What's the beef everybody? It is a CVS it has all the regular goodies, from liquor, to milk, to household things, an ice cream counter, and of course a pharmacy. Yep it gets crowded at 5 o'clock. The drive thru is nice too! People are doing what they can to help find things and get the prescriptions right. I have noticed this CVS has been going through some hard times. Being a nice human I decided to ask. It seems they went through a tough year in 2018 and are under new management. If you shopped in this store at all last year you'll know there is a huge difference now. I appreciate all they are doing to make this my favorite place to shop. Instead of immediately judging the mess, I was nice to the people who work there and tried to put myself in their shoes. Working in retail is hard with minimal hours and short staffing one retail worker must do the job of 10. Having worked in retail myself before finishing school, I know first hand how exhausting and mentally draining a job like this can be. I also find it absolutely disgusting how people can be so mean to those who make minimum wage. I love CVS and wouldn't choose to shop at any other drugstore. read more

The Pharmacy has been consistantly rude. Now after 3 years of using them I will drive to Walmart just to avoid interactions. They have made major mistakes in my Rx which I caught since I am a nurse. The directions were wrong so they were going to withhold a much needed antibiotic until the MD's office called them. It was Saturday evening. There was a Pharmacist on the premises that could have advised me of the proper way to use the medication, I stated I was a nurse and had taken the medication before. Nope no meds for me. Went to another pharmacy and explained the problem, 4 hours later I had the meds from a much more intelligent problem solver. CVS Pharmacy and I have now parted ways. read more

I would never recommend this pharmacy to ANYONE. The pharmacy staff is so rude. I asked the lady to repeat herself once and she scoffed at me then proceeded to repeat herself after doing so she hung up. I tried calling back to get her name 5 minutes later and no one could seem to remember talking to me... of course they couldn't. I have talked to the pharmacists on a couple of different occasions as well and acted like I had no clue what I was talking about. For 4 years I have complained about the women's bathroom. It is always very dirty. The wash basins are old and stained. The toilets are no better. Seldom have I found soap and a supply of paper products available., The place is smelly, unsanitary and ugly. This bathroom should be totally remodeled and brought up to code. The pharmacy is the worst one I have ever been in. I went their tonight at 6:03 they wouldn't help me out because they closed at 6:00. My girlfriend was at home crying because her back hurt and just needed her pills. I have heart disease and on the list for a transplant and everytime my doctors call to setup my meds the staff is rude to my doctors. If it were possible to give negative marks for this pharmacy, I would gladly do so. I was out of my antidepressant and they attempted to charge me double my usual co-pay. When I contacted my insurance, I was told that I could get a 90 day supply for that price and the pharmacy would give me a week's worth of medication until I could get the 90 day supply the following week. When I went back, I was told that I could be issued 3 pills for $23 and they refused to give me a partial, even if I paid in advance. I was surprised by some reviews that indicated poor service, rude employee and lack of stock. I have been using the CVS Pharmacy in Atascadero since moving here several months ago. I have consistently found the employees to be friendly and helpful. The personnel in the pharmacy have been pleasant and patient with my questions. I almost always get greeted with a smile. I have found most items that I am seeking health wise or been recommended a reasonable substitute. So don't let a couple of poor reviews make you go elsewhere. I was so disappointed with how little empathy and care the pharmacy staff had when I showed up at 6:02. They looked disgusted when I pleaded to fill the antibiotic that was called in minutes earlier. I have a painful UTI and desperately need the antibiotic. The lack of empathy was so disappointing. I then pleaded to have them transfer it to Walgreens and again was met with eye rolling and treated as if I asked for some unreasonable request. I left sobbing the thought of having another painful sleepless night is unbearable. How dare these people work in the field of patient "care" My insurance uses CVS I from now on will pay cash or higher copay to NEVER use CVS again. I drove from Cayucos to Atascadero because it was the closest CVS. It would have been my first time using this pharmacy. Never will I use them again! I'm beyond upset and disappointed. Shame on CVS! Ordered a photo book off of cvs.com and was sent an email about 45 minutes later telling me my book was completed. Drove from Paso to Atascadero (I guess thePaso CVS doesn't do photo books) 4 hours after I received the email only to be told that the book wasn't done. The cashier was an older woman who could care less that I drove from Paso not that I received an email stating that it was finished. When I asked for the manager, she told me that there wasn't one on duty and wouldn't be there for another 10-15 minutes. She was very rude and not customer friendly at all. I try to support my local businesses but unfortunately the employees there can care less so I will be ordering another book from an online source. read more

The El Camino CVS is best of the CVS stores in SLO county. The pharmacists and staff have always been friendly , knowledgeable and caring. The store staff greets you with a sincere hello and always willing to help you find what you need. I wouldn't travel the 35 miles to the store if they weren't that wonderful!!
