On 1/28/26 I drove to Bay Ridge CVS to pick up some prescriptions that they said was ready. This was 3 days after the snow storm. When I turned into their drive I saw their lot had not been plowed !! I could not pull out, since there was a car behind me. A 6 inch ice block was in middle of lane the whole way into parking lot. It scraped the bottom of my Tesla. Also the whole lot was full of snow. I told the pharmacist they should not have been open, since the their road and parking lot were a severe hazard. They said they were waiting for their plow contractor to show up, It would have been easy to text their customers with prescriptions and tell them not to come to store until lot was plowed. I guess getting money from us has a priority over our safety, Shame on Bay Ridge CVS!! read more

The Bay Ridge CVS has the best employee named, Manny! I had a hundred or so photos that I needed to download from my phone and have printed, and Manny helped me through the entire process. He was cheerful, patient, and professional with me, which I greatly appreciated! Every employee should be as helpful and kind as Manny was to me. He really made my day!!! read more

Highly unprofessional pharmacy tech. Rude and grumpy. She could not answer simple questions and then refused to allow me to speak with a pharmacist directly. When asked why, she hung up on me. Wow. Run and go elsewhere. There's zero concept of customer service here. What a shame. Train your workers or replace those who don't understand customers service. We are your business. Customers should be treated with dignity and respect, not disdain. read more

This is consistently the worst CVS Pharmacy I've been to. This location is new & empty. I wanted to like it, yet I've given it 3 tries and every time there has been a problem. First they couldn't fill my Xeralto for 2 weeks. Good things it wasn't heart medicine or I could've expired waiting for it. Next the drive thru was closed. No sign blocking the drive thru and no sign at the window. Just metal shutters closed. The third time I was trying to pick up my son's prescription and they closed early for lunch. I rushed there just to catch them before their lunch break and they closed 10 minutes early. Ugh. If you need a longer lunch just post a longer lunch time! PS I've found the 24 hour CVS on Riva Road is reliable and well staffed with courteous employees. read more

Dr. called in a prescription for pain meds after surgery. Went to pick it up and they are out of stock. It's been over a week and they are still out of stock. How can a pharmacy be out of stock for a common pain medication? Left messages and no returned call. Terrible customer service and poorly run pharmacy. read more

I had a great experience here having my passport photo taken. They have remodeled their entire photo area and replaced it with chips and stuff...but technology has changed and now it's consolidated to two computers. They need to physically take a photo of you and then upload and print, but trust me, this is better than some photo booth. I looked fabulous in this photo! lol Very friendly, fast service. Not the cheapest but not too bad. Worth the price since he was so helpful with my questions. read more

CVS is just not the place to go to fill prescriptions any more. I had 5 Rx to fill before dental surgery tomorrow. The CVS nearest me could only fill 3. So I went to this new CVS on Bay Ridge and stood around to discover they did not have the Medrol dose pack either (steroid). So I ended up at the pharmacy window at the Giant on Bay Ridge where they were courteous and I got my meds in 5 minutes. I should have avoided CVS altogether. read more

I realize it's the time of Covid and everywhere is understaffed and overwhelmed. But the last many dealings I've had with the pharmacy staff have been beyond awful. They have been so incredibly rude and frankly mean. Most recently, I had a medical issue and needed my prescription quickly. It was a Sunday at 5:30 and they closed at 6. Due to Covid, I went to the drive thru. I sat at the window for 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged my existence. When I was finally waited on, the woman said I needed to come inside to verify my insurance (which I've used there for the past 8 months.). She refused to help me at the window and then said I better hurry because they were closing soon. Like it was my fault - even though I had been there since 5:30! I've had rude phone calls with the pharmacists and other rude interactions. I will be transferring my prescriptions elsewhere. read more

After forcing the customer to use self check out... watching the customer from a chair tear apart the coupon the "ask for help" button brought a CSR who then voided the coupon. How is that help?? I thought all CVS pharmacies must be going under based on this one being that it is absolutely horrible every time I go in there. Was very pleasantly surprised that other locations are actually still great. The Bay Ridge CVS (store 4225) has the worst crew possible. Always in a bad mood, never helpful. This could be the WORST retail chain in the history of retail chains. I have NO idea how CVS continues to operate. Unfortunately being the largest chain of pharmacy stores - most people need to use CVS as a place to pick up their scripts. I have visited many locations (because of need) and not one are run well. The stores are dirty and most of the team members seem miserable. Oddly this is a company that bought Aetna (a health care company) - how can a store that can't operate an effective retail shop provide health care!!! This particular store is the MOST horrible store of horrible CVS stores. I think the staff actually hate customers and go out of their way to be rude. I know times are challenging but most people visiting the pharmacy are sick and to be treated rudely on top of that isn't nice. Epic read more

My wife seems to be a kinder person than I and to have a higher threshold of tolerance for stupidity as well. She still uses CVS for prescriptions. You can see the torrid tale of my experiences in my review of the CVS on Cherry Grove. *sigh* I was in two days ago to pick up prescriptions for my wife. One register open for pick up in the pharmacy while at least four people are gossiping in the back. The line backed up to ten people. That's a long wait for prescriptions, especially when someone in front needs a lot of counseling about a new prescription. When I did finally get to the front of the line the pharmacist's assistant on the register spoke in a mumble that was very difficult to understand. No wonder the line moved so slowly. read more

I signed up for a COVID test and kept getting confirmation emails and texts. I showed up to see a "no covid testing today sign" I assumed they had ran out of testing kits so I asked what happened. The pharmacy tech said "its on the sign" and asked when they would have kits and was informed it was a pharmacy tech scheduling issue not with the test kits. Theres nowhere else available today for testing locally. They should have fixed the scheduling online now I have to wait several days between my work schedule to find a testing facility. This is a nice CVS. It's brand new but it faces away from the street so it looks a bit odd from the street. They have a drive thru pharmacy. They have a good selection of candy, cosmetics, junk, cards, medicines etc. The parking lot is never too full. It's nice. read more

I've depended on the Bay Ridge CVS Pharmacy for years. The drive-up used to be so convenient and you didn't have to worry about exposing yourself to covid by going into the store. Good, friendly service. Reliable. So I hate to write this terrible review, but lately, it's a train wreck there. Yesterday the drive-up was closed: no sign, no explanation. I went in to find a long line all the way down the aisle: disgruntled people desperate to get the medications they needed. I think there were 4 people behind the counter, all but one acting so unhappy to be there. My husband had come earlier to pick up our meds and left after an hour and a half. So I went back at 7:00 PM. I needed a steroid and there was a women there who needed her blood pressure meds and a statin. People in line were trying to be patient, but the people working there were just not nice. When I finally reached the check-out counter, I was told the meds were there, but the cost was $280. I have good coverage and a low co-pay, so I asked if my insurance was being applied, and was told no. I asked them to look it up, and was told "I don't have time to do that! You can pay for it or step out of line." Then the cashiers started yelling out to the people in line: "We're closing this register at 8:00, so you might as well leave!" Sounds unreal, but it's the truth. Went back today at 4:00 for another try, and the cashier (named Rachel) was so polite and patient although there were a lot of worried people trying to get the meds they need, so the pressure was on. Was told my order was ready, but when she went to look for it, she couldn't find it. She went to the pharmacist to ask for her help (very politely) and got brushed off "I filled that," she was told. She tried again and the pharmacist said she would just fill both prescriptions again. So I waited 30 minutes and Rachel was given one prescription. When she reminded the pharmacist I was waiting for 2 prescriptions, the pharmacist said "You didn't tell me that!" But she did tell her. So poor Rachel had to come to the computer and write down the name of the drug on a piece of scrap paper and give it to the pharmacist because I guess the pharmacist couldn't be bothered to check the computer. It's worrisome getting your meds in the midst of this kind of confusion and chaos.Also the store is a dirty mess. The entire long time staff at this CVS is gone. There are all new people and not enough of them. There are long wait times, confusion filling orders, and it's a disaster. Bad housekeeping everywhere. They are obviously understaffed. I spoke with the store manager who has been there about 3 weeks. She says corporate is trying to help them, not sure how. I went on line to try to find a place to complain to corporate but couldn't find any customer service links. So I then tried the CVS on South Cherry St. and spoke with the pharmacist. He actually answered the phone. My prescription was to be ready in an hour for $22. I arrived after work and it was now $27.50 and hadn't been filled. I am leaving CVS. This is ridiculous. read more

Horrible experience and still not over. Went in person to pick up a simple prescription. I was told to come back in an hour. I came back after 4 hours and I was told I wasn't ready. Note, this was after waiting in line for 15 minutes because the check in girl was being rude and dismissive to customers in front of me. I was told it wouldn't be ready for another hour. I asked why and the girl was incredibly rude, passive and just yelled "next"after I said I was upset about the situation. And now I am going to have to come back in an hour to see if the third time is a charm. Whoever worked the afternoon of the 1/10/22, it doesn't matter if you're busy, you take the time to say you're sorry and you guys screwed up. read more

Had been our go-to pharmacy for years, but no more. Have had nothing but terrible experience with this pharmacy location for several months. It is understaffed and poorly managed - prescriptions are never ready when the automated phone service says they are, long lines all the time in the store, drive through is always closed, no-one to staff the consultation counter, no follow up on promised actions, and forget about anyone answering the phone -the only way to talk to them is to go inside and stand in line. read more

Poorly managed store since it opened. Store is always messy and looks like a Black Friday sale with items on the floor scattered about & disorganized or empty shelves. Under staffed and always a long line with only one person working. Prices are 20-40% higher than other retail stores and their printer is constantly broken so you can't print their coupons in an effort to pay for their items at a regular market price (such as Target or even Giant). Seriously disappointed in my experience with this pharmacy today. I live within walking distance so I have been using this location since it opened because it's convenient. I called in a time-sensitive prescription for refill yesterday morning that I needed to take this evening and called this afternoon only to find out it's still not ready. I pressed the button to speak to a pharmacy representative. I was told that my rx wasnt ready because the last time I had it refilled I had it done at the Riva Road location and it was on file there. Sooo, in other words, their systems don't share information. How convenient. So they couldnt call and let me know that they would need to get it from my doctor instead of being able to use the one on file at Riva? I HAVE the prescription! If I had known all of that was necessary I would have just faxed it or brought a copy myself. That issue however was not what prompted this review. The woman i spoke to on the phone ( I wont say her name) was SOOO rude! She kept cutting me off and talking over me when I was trying to ask questions. I get that maybe they were busy, or understaffed or whatever. However there is no excuse for being that rude to someone just inquiring what the status of their prescription was. I have worked in customer service and human resources for almost 20 years. Absolutely unacceptable. No excuse. CVS please train your staff or management or whoever you need to train and do better for your paying customers. Update to the above: So 15 minutes after I hang up I get the automated call telling me my rx is now ready for pick up. So for 30 seconds of effort, they managed to get my rx filled. Imagine that. I call this the Gucci CVS. $$$. I only buy something at this store in an emergency. Very high prices. Also, pharmacist chose not to give me an emergency supply of one of my meds which I learned she cld hv done if she had chosen to. That this is a courtesy given to regular customers which I am. Couldn't believe no one on the staff had any clue about the urgent need for mosquito repellent, given the current international health crisis. "That's a seasonal item." Really? Apparently they need to reserve shelf space for other items (snacks, junk food). Manager directed me to miniature travel samples including shaving cream but no insect repellent. He had no idea how to direct me to any other provider and refused to make a special order on my behalf. The pharmacist was equally unresponsive. How can CVS be so terribly oblivious about an urgent international health crisis? I am outraged. CVS needs to educate its managers and staff about global health issues and provide clients immediately with needed resources. My last visit to any CVS "pharmacy." read more
