Was nearby and stopped in this CVS! I found what I was looking for and proceeded to checkout. Two employees were at the register. One was on the phone and one directed folks to use the self checkout. Pharmacy is sorely bad. Terrible communication, rude and unhelpful. Do not recommend relying on appropriate patient care from this location.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I came in as a walk-in with pink eye and ended up waiting over two hours for NOTHING but to waste time. The nurse knew I had an eye infection, yet continued to take in other patients--even someone who arrived after me. After all that waiting she says we don't have any opening or even say to me try to go back in and make an appointment. CVS system is flawed. They need a better way if you are going to have walk-ins and appointment options. Very unprofessional to make someone wait longer than the ER for pink eye. I will never go back and certainly will let all know about what happened and why they should take their business elsewhere. If you're fully booked, just say so right away and not tell me I need 20 minutes between. Don't let someone sit in the lobby for two hours while they're clearly uncomfortable and contagious. Completely unprofessional and inconsiderate. Also, all of the appointments were running 25-30 minutes at a time. Never again will I go to this minute clinic. read more

This place needs new management. The pharmacy is horribly slow. They don't always fill your prescription properly. The pharmacy tech was using profanity and wasn't wearing shoes. She must have dropped my prescription at least 4 times on the floor. I waited a half hour in the drive thru and an hour and a half in the store to be treated very poorly. read more

I just moved here and this location is down the street from house, but I probably need to find a more capable and professional pharmacy that is less convenient to home base. No, this is not an error. I almost cried tears of GRATITUDE and not frustration when I left today. I called the pharmacy and (unsurprisingly) did not speak to a human. I left a message and they actually called me back. Not only that, they let know that there was an issue with my prescription but that they did have the medication in stock. After a few more issues that were out of their control, I called again to see if the prescription was ready. The issue had not been resolved but they let me know that they could provide the antibiotic, but insurance wouldn't cover it. I headed to the pharmacy to pick it up and waited less than 2 minutes for them to help me. The pharmacist even went above and beyond to resubmit the insurance information which resulted in the medication being covered. Even with the errors the prescriber made, it was ready within 2 hours. If you want to find the worst CVS pharmacy in the country, this is it! My doctor called in a prescription days ago, and they never filled it when I went to pick it up. They "don't know why". First, I try to ring up a deodorant and face wash with the prescription that I don't know was not filled yet. She told me to go to consultation. I said, "with this stuff too?" She replied, "Yes". When I get to consultation, she says I have to go to the front because "I don't even have a register here." "Well why did she send me over here then???" I was told to come back after their lunch. 3 hours later. With the prices of gas, I make my shopping events efficient. Now this dump cost me money!! My advice, CORPORATE needs to step into this dump! This is somewhat of an addendum to a previous review from April 25th. Unfortunately this CVS on Riva Rd. continues to provide horrible customer service. My wife and I scheduled our Moderna Covid booster shots online today. We checked in at the counter and waited outside of the vaccination room. After waiting 20 minutes past our appointment time the person who was in the vaccination booth left. We experienced more waiting as another person was scheduled ahead of us. 45 minutes after we arrived we were finally called only to find out that they only had the Pfizer vaccine. As it happens, we were not the only people who had the same issue. The real sticking point is that we were not informed of this when we checked in. We have been in many different pharmacies, in different states, over the years. This is, by far, the WORST we have ever seen! Never again. read more

The absolute worst. Didn't want to leave any stars but it made me. Dropped off a prescription I needed immediately for infection at 2pm. Pharmacist said to come back in 2 hrs. I came back at 4:30 only to be told to come back 3 hrs later they were busy. Being short staffed everywhere, I understood even though this was a inconvenience. When I returned 3 hrs later they proceeded to tell me "oh, well we are out of stock." Are you kidding me? Why wouldn't you tell me this at 2pm? Wasted my entire day, I didn't get this antibiotic in me and it was too late to drive around to look for another pharmacy considering I just had surgery. Two girls at the front store were very unprofessional I went in to be seen at mini clinic I wasn't sure if anyone was in the room bc it said closed for lunch so I knocked at the door one of the Spanish employees started yelling at me callin me all kinds of names bc I knocked at the door as I was leaving the two Spanish girls started to threaten me called me out my name and told me unless I wanted to fight them o can leave I'm not sure where they find these employees from but they don't need to be working in this line of work if it gets to the point as to where they are making threats VERY UNPROFESSIONAL .. read more

This 24 hr pharmacy is busy But I have used it since 2009 and won't change Because for every nasty individual the floor workers make up for it I venture to say if say am wsitingbon meds I get it within thirty minutes They screwed up my med one time on abpresuth but that was straightened out. I understand that the drive-thru is in-operable due to a truck hitting the cashier's window box- destroying the electronics- last fall? Manager claims that they can't get it fixed - really? This is February. Has a car never hit a drive through box before- maybe at a bank or other pharmacy? There is no sign of repairs being done. Ok-so let's step inside and wait in a very long line with other sick people- waiting to pick up their meds. While in line- you can be entertained by the one cashier playing hopscotch between 3 cash registers, pretending to wait on 3 customers, simultaneously- of course she really can't- she just does a piece of the ring up for each person- running back and forth before finally having the good grace to hit the final button so that you can insert your credit card. But she doesn't wait the one second it takes to insert the card or tap and pay. and you wait again while she bops between 3 registers until she can finalize the sale so that you can sign it- and disappears again with her bunny act. Finally- she returns to give you your meds - if you want a receipt/ you need to wait for another round of cash register hopping. If she runs into a problem- she tosses your RX to another staff person and then you go to the back of another long line- with no explanation for what the problem might be ( this also happened). They also will not ring up your other purchases- must take them to front of store. so... if this is annoying reading - imagine having to endure this - while sick. I did bring this issue to the attention of the store manager. She said she would let my complaint "bubble up" to Management. That this was their method of making the customers feel like the lines were moving faster. Took 45 minutes to get rung up with only one person ahead of me. The good news- everyone behind me were all rung out at the same time - we just had to wait for everyone to have their turn at bat before we were finished. NOT going back. read more

Very rude and short when I asked questions and requested a different generic. "Theyre all the same" was their response when yes technically they are but when you've been on one for a long time, why would you want to switch to a different one if you didn't have to. Luckily the cvs in target right by it is great. Worth the annoying parking garage and target/town center traffic to go to the better cvs. read more

Made the mistake of telling the ER to send my Rx here for the second and last time. After over 3 hours they finally messaged through the app that the Rx was out of stock and I should call the pharmacy to figure it out and get it sent somewhere else... now all of the other pharmacies in the area are closed so I guess I'll hope for the best that another non CVS has it and will actually be helpful. This CVS is the absolutely worst at any customer service especially for people going through an already stressful time. Unbelievable wait time in line at Drive-Thru. 11 cars ahead of me. Didn't move for 9 minutes. Now #10 in line. Parking lot is awful to try to park to go in. Tried that at 2:00 pm. My extremely sick toddler was lying on the floor at the pharmacy waiting area with a high fever while we were waiting for a prescription to be filled. After being told nothing and waiting for 40 minutes I got back in line to inquire about the status and surprise, it was ready. When I politely asked why they did not inform me when it was ready, when they were aware that we were waiting, the tech told me that she "can't do two things at once." No apology. These days I can rarely get them to pick up the phone -- no matter what time I call. Today I was on hold for 30 minutes (trying you find out why my prescriptions have been "pending" for awhile). I gave up and called the prescription assistance line. They finally got me connected with the store, and the answer was "we've been backed up." The only reason I stay with this store is it's open 24 hours. But what good is that if you can't talk to them when you need to? read more

Terrible service. My provider makes a mistake and sends them the wrong dosage amount for my medication, which I paid for out-of-pocket. I sent my mother to return it to the store two days later for a full refund, and the pharmacist just told her she would need a receipt. My mother didn't have it with her at the time, so I located the receipt and headed to the store myself to return the wrong medication dosage. I was greeted by the very same pharmacist, Christine, who spoke to my mother earlier and was cold and unfriendly in her tone and communication. She blamed my provider for the discrepancy and insisted that it wasn't the pharmacy's fault, so they could not refund my medication. So she not only refused to help me but also lied to my mother earlier about refunding the medication. I requested to speak to a higher-up, but she said there was no one else there because she was the pharmacist. read more

Horrible customer service! My wife had surgery at the Riva Road Surgery Center and while she was in recovery I figured I would save time and go across the parking lot and fill her prescriptions. WHAT A MISTAKE! I told them her insurance information was on file at the CVS in Lusby, MD. They said they could not find information in their system. I paid for the pain medication out of pocket and told them to just give me the prescription for the other medicine and I would fill it after we got home. I was told they could not give me the prescription back because it had been filled ! I said I did not want the medication just the prescription since they could not find her insurance information. They were all extremely rude and said they could not ! Going to call CVS in Lusby and have them call to get the prescription information and fill it there. read more

I witnessed staff waiting on an elderly woman and rolling her eyes and snapping at her because she was slow and asking questions. Yesterday, I made back-to-back appointments for my wife and me at CVS on Riva Road to get the flue vaccine for those 65 and older. Their efficient computer kept the appointments 30 minutes apart and required that I fill out a few pages of info before getting each appointment. Today, thirty minutes in advance of the first appointment their efficient computer sent me a text message reminding me to be on time. On arrival, after waiting in line, we were told that they do not have the vaccine. They did not know why or when they would receive it. That was the last straw with this incompetently managed facility. I then went to a second highly recommended pharmacy, and took a couple (of many) prescriptions with me for transfer. While they were very accommodating on the prescriptions, they too did not have the vaccine. They expected to receive a shipment in the afternoon and advised that there has been a run on flu vaccines as many people formerly not getting the vaccines decided to get it as a result of the covid warnings. The third pharmacy had it ... and the next stop had crab cakes and beer. While the best approach might be to call first, I defy you to get through the computer system at CVS. read more

Only used this one long time ago when kids were little & had to go to Righttime & u had no choice cause it was the closest 24hr/open late pharmacy now yrs later u have no choice everything is closed if u need an rx after 8pm went here few months ago after my dr called in an antibiotic cause I had the world's worst sinus infection idk even what type of antibiotic was sent that was at midnight after waiting in the parking lot constantly trying to call the pharmacy but could not get through checking the app messaging my doctor to resend it because nothing was coming up finally went through the drive-through at 3:30 AM and it was a Z pack it's prepackaged you just throw it together slap on a label ring me up I could not believe it and I don't even think it's in the system because it does not come up in my CVS app but why is everything closed and close so early ? But I do love Cvs for my rewards and coupons and extra bucks etc but I always loved going late at night when barely anybody's there and you have time to bargain shop without holding anybody up. If you work in this building and you're in a pinch for a pharmaceutical product, then fine, by all means, walk downstairs and buy it. But seriously? The pharmacist asked me if she could help me and when I said that I was just looking and stalling time she flatly say "oh." like I had just said she was ugly. Well I could have found something to buy if she hadn't shown attitude. That's if they had anything on the shelves to buy. It's a tiny hole in the wall store and had one item of each type. That's nice convenience for all the medical offices in the building. But just drive down the road and go to the real CVS. The younger girl at the register wished me a nice day when I left. whew. Avoid this place at all costs! For one it's very busy. 2 staff is not only rude but not helpful. This is very true for the Pharmacy section. If you go to get meds don't get in the drive through you will get stuck for hours in that lane.. the whole lay out the drive through is a nightmare! The Pharmacy staff certainly need more help in learning how to speak to customers. They are rude abrupt and down right mean! This worker at the Pharmacy said they have a lot of perceptions to fill. What Pharmacy doesn't? I've been to other Pharmacies and have never been treated so badly.Maybe you should not take on more than you can chew CVS. This is for CVS on Riva Road. I can never get through on the phone to check on prescription availability, so I have to go to the store. The lines in the store and at the drive-in window are always very long. Then I'm told the prescription is not ready. Once they told me there were 5,000 orders waiting to be filled! Ridiculous!! I will be changing all of my prescriptions to my local Safeway and will never go to this store for anything ever again. read more

Horrible delays filling prescriptions. The last 5 times I submitted a refill request, I was told the prescriptions were not ready and would have to be expedited. Great pharmacist if you ever have questions about your meds and the main store mgr was very helpful, but this location has major problems .. loses or says "never received" prescriptions sent by my Dr. He is begging me to change pharmacies as has nothing but trouble with new presc and refills at this particular location and I agree. In addition, the customer service is about the worst I've ever experienced. Any issue is always with the customer, their insurance or doctor. Sure, these things happen sometimes, but to have routine issues that are clearly CVS's fault and then find the front-line staff acts as if they could care less to the point of being incredibly rude, hanging up the phone, etc. is more than I will bear any longer. read more
