This place is like the worst CVS, ever. It's absolutely to get in and out of the parking lot. I mean, absolutely ridiculous. The spaces seem to be much narrower than most lots, as well. Inside, there are always boxes in the aisles, which is fine, if people are stocking, but no one is ever stocking. The boxes are just left there. Unattended, and a trip hazard. Once you find what you're looking for (and much of the stuff I was looking for was sold out, so I had to buy a different brand), there are long lines to get out of the store. Even the automated checkout system is crappy. Luckily, we don't live in Annapolis, and only have to go to this place when we're visiting mother-in-law. Unfortunately, when you need something for the baby, you need something in the baby, and you have to wade into the fourth level of hell at this place. read more

Most poorly managed pharmacy I've ever experienced. I've been putting up with their lack of customer service for years. Today was the final straw. After waiting in the drive-thru line for 35 minutes, I didn't receive all of my prescriptions but didn't realize it until I drove away. I had to then return to the store and go inside to discuss (rather than waiting in the auto line for another 30 minutes), and there was no apology other than " I have lots on my mind" from the drive-thru attendant. Then I had to stand in another line to ask why my additional prescription wasn't filled and the manager said I was out of refills. But the automated line usually tells me that and will call my doctor, but I received no such message this time. The manager said I should have called to speak to a live person in the pharmacy when renewing. Ha! They never pick up the phone if you try to call them. I spoke to the store manager when I left, but she doesn't oversee the pharmacy manager. So there will be no improvement. If you are consider the CVS at 2601 Riva Road, don't! read more

We were near this CVS three nights ago and took advantage of the lower sales tax (vs. NYC's) to stock up on lots of items. The store seemed very clean and everything was neatly stocked on the shelves, but the shelves were organized really poorly. Also: I had a print-out of a 30% discount coupon and apparently some information was missing from it (which was certainly not my fault, since I'd printed it out from the e-mail link I'd received [yes, it's true; I do not have a smartphone]) - and the cashier (a young guy) couldn't get it to deduct the 30%. He was totally disinterested and I had to insist that he call over a manager - but it wasn't the store manager; it was apparently a supervisor, and he also couldn't get the stupid coupon to work (and he, too, didn't have any initiative; I had to insist that he get ahold of the store manager). It took her seemingly *forever* (seriously, it took her about *fifteen minutes*) to deduct the 30%, plus she acted as if it was my fault that the coupon was defective (at which point I told her I spend a rather obscene amount of money at CVS and I'm sure they'd like me to remain a customer). read more

I have been using this CVS on Riva Road for a number of years. They apparently have become too busy, too short staffed, etc. to help the very people that provide them a paycheck...their customers. They not only filled my prescription incorrectly, but told me that the "brand" was discontinued. I spent an inexcusable amount of time calling CVS (took them 25 minutes to answer phone and then was told a lie), going in person to be told the same thing the "brand" was discontinued (a flat out lie) and after much probing on my part about this "discontinued" brand and asking if maybe one of the other stores had some left, the person I was trying to get information from found some at another location and gave me the number, BUT was unwilling to call and confirm that the other CVS actually had some of this "discontinued" brand because they were too busy and I would have to call myself!!!!! At this point, two other customers were in line behind me and I was told they had customers (what was I???) another person that was working had to stop what she was doing to talk to the next customer and ask my person "What is taking so long?" Are you serious!!! Then after I waited for these other two customers to get served and there were no more customers in line, I again asked if she could call the other CVS and was told that she had to do something on her computer!!! I also spent time calling the manufacturer of the prescription only to be told it wasn't discontinued. I spent time contacting my Doctor to inform him that I was told it was discontinued!! I then went to the other CVS 30 plus miles round trip to pick up this "discontinued" brand. I then called the CVS customer service line and relayed all this information. Today (two days after calling customer service) I received a call from the pharmacy manager and was told that I was given incorrect information and yes they do carry this prescription and apologized. Honestly I spent several hours trying to get this resolved. Totally unacceptable the way I was treated, the time it took me to get this resolved all because of the irresponsible answers I was given that were a complete lie. Suffice it to say, I will no longer go back to this pharmacy. It is worrisome to think that they fill so many prescriptions and can totally tell a bold face lie about something that could be critical to people taking medication. read more

The head pharmacist at this store (#2775) was beyond uncaring. I am an insulin dependent diabetic and regularly interact with pharmacy staff and have come to understand many of their rules and certainly their regulations (I may even know them better than some). I approached the head pharmacist at this CVS on Riva Rd. on a Saturday morning with a problem. I had failed to bring any syringes and was now 12 hours behind taking my insulin. Not her problem, I know. It was my fault I had not brought my supplies and got out early to look for a pharmacy that could help. FYI: the sale of syringes does NOT require a prescription since they are not a federally controlled substance or even limited use medical device. They are over the counter as the discretion of the pharmacist. The head pharmacist smilingly told me that "their policy" was to not sell syringes without a prescription. I had already explained the urgency of my medical situation, but she felt very comfortable repeating that "the policy cannot be changed for one person. We've had drug users in our parking lot before." I'm not unsympathetic, but I also had vials of my insult (which is a federally controlled medicine) as well as several other documents showing me to be a diabetic. She didn't care. In the end, being from out of town and in dire condition, I prevailed upon her to help find a pharmacy that would sell syringes without a prescription on a Saturday morning. She pointed to the door across the store and said, "somewhere out there probably." Nice. If you have time, I recommend driving past this store to one with a helpful and caring staff. If you don't have time, then I pray for your sake you're not in dire need of urgent pharmaceutical help. read more

Sometimes it takes 2-3 hours for a prescription to be filled. And they are out of one of my normal prescriptions normally. The employees are very kind though and it's not their fault the place is run poorly. That's why I give two stars. read more

It seems to me they can never fill a prescription on time. Three times they told me it would be ready and it never happened. When calling was put on hold until disconnected. Line at drive up window was long and it seemed everyone had an argument. On top of all that the parking is poor and the area inside and out is always filthy. The is the worst pharmacy staff I have ever encountered. I'm traveling and needed a prescription transferred from a local pharmacy in Austin, tx. I called this CVS and they treated me like this was the most difficult thing ever; putting me on hold multiple times, I had to explain my situation to multiple people before someone would help. Finally, they took the prescription information but refused to take my insurance information over the phone. I got to the pharmacy, waited in line, they found my prescription (which was 'ready') and I told the cashier I needed to update my insurance information. They sent me over to the drop off counter, where a very rude employee updated my information and told me to get back in line. The line was now 5 people long... I waited in the line again, got to the front and they couldn't find my prescription. I was told it wasn't ready (how was it not ready now when it had been 10 minutes before???). I asked why they refused to take my insurance information over the phone, as that wouldn't have prevented all this waiting. The rude employee came back and told me it was 'corporate policy' not to take insurance information over the phone (I called another CVS and found out this is a complete lie). I said I was sorry, I'm sick and really just wanted to get out of here; she snapped back with 'I'm sick too and we all want out of here.' So we had to wait longer while they got my prescription 'ready' again. I am appalled at the laziness and rude attitude of the staff at this pharmacy. read more

The pharmacist name at this location at my time of visit was Emmanuel Poku. Came here at 11:30pm on 5/15/15 to drop off perceptions received from an ER visit. The prescriptions included pain medications, anti emetics, and antibiotics. There was only two other customers in the whole store, of which one wasn't even there for medication related needs. After waiting 10 minutes to be waited on so I could drop off my prescriptions, the pharmacist, who didn't have have a name badge, didn't even smile or say hello, made me feel as though I was bothering him. He told me after I handed him the scripts that "It will take a few hours". To which I repeated the phrase as a question for verification as I looked at the only other customer in the prescription section. I said wow, these need to be filled sooner than that, so I will go elsewhere. He responded by simply saying ok, and walked away. I then left the store, but decided to drop them off at the drive though at this location anyway, because I've always had good service (until tonight) at CVS. I went through the drive through, waited 5 minutes for him to come to the window (no other customers entered the store since I left & approached the drive through). Again, he didn't smile, no name badge, and made me feel again as though I was bothering him. I handed him the scripts and said that I will be back in an hour to pick them up. He responded with "Ah, oh oh oh, ok" appearing nervous at my direct statement. Upon returning to pick up the much needed pain, anti emetic, and antibiotic medications, there appeared to be only 3 cars in the parking lot. I waited at the drive through for 10 minutes before this same gentleman finally came to the window, chewing (mouth full). He opened the window, again not smiling, no hello, no name badge. Upon completion, he didn't even say goodbye, or thank you. This was the worst experience I've ever had with CVS and I will never utilize the 24 hour Annapolis CVS on Riva Rd. EVER again & being in the health care field myself, I will NEVER recommend this branch! There is a 24-hour Rite Aid only 6-8 miles from this CVS that has now gained my business thanks to this pharmacist. read more

Worst pharmacy ever! Today I went in at 4:45 and dropped off two prescriptions that I needed. They said both were in stock and that these would be ready at 7:00 pm. I call at 7:25, and find that one of the, the asthma drug I need, isn't ready because they don't have it in stock. No one called me or tried to contact me. I complained about this, and the pharmacist became belligerent. They told me it was *my* problem that they weren't able to fill the prescription. That it was *my* responsibility to call around to another CVS. Finally, the woman 'promised' to call around to find me my medicine, and I thought I'd be ok, but she slammed down the phone without taking my number, so I'm pretty sure she was just saying that to get me off her back. read more

OK. This review is for the CVS pharmacy on Riva Rd in Maryland. We also go to the CVS in North Naples, Fl. I think some of these reviews are for CVS elsewhere and have been aggregated. We use both pharmacies and have never had a problem. The employees are fine. The parking lot is treacherous, true, and I have to be very careful there. It is busy, true. But I can't say I have ever had any bad experiences of rudeness. The North Naples CVS is slightly friendlier but they are much less busy. I just happened on these one star reviews and then saw they were from around the country. Not fair to aggregate them. read more

5* for a pharmacy and pharmacist who take patient health seriously. They not only transferred a prescription from another closed location since it was critical for me (with kindness in each interaction), but also while waiting I saw the pharmacist step out and spend 5+ minutes in the aisle helping a customer figure out what and where to find something....even though they don't carry it. I would give ZERO stars if I could! Absolute WORST customer service I have ever received especially in a place or need like a pharmacy. Dropped off my prescription at 8 am, said would be ready in 1 hour, EXPLAINED that my boyfriend is a journeyman lineman, this medicine that he gets is for EXTREME MIGRAINES and he NEEDS this. He will be leaving for storm work, (hurricane Florence) tomorrow morning. They advised that the insurance needed to approve another refill, we gave them the phone number to call and they advised they would. Come back at 1 pm and was told it was not ready STILL and they needed 1 more hour to call the insurance to get this approved. So we left. Around 430 I called them Because we STILL haven't received a phone call and I was worried the insurance office would close by 5 pm. Would you guess that when I called again it STILL wasn't ready and they wanted another hour. I lost it. I said no I'll wait on the line while you call and I'll be down to get my prescription today because this is YOUR fault. We were placed on hold without saying anything than they came back and said it would be ready in 30 mins, I have been here for an hour spoke w the manager and they don't even care. After you drop the prescription, the pharmacist love to talk rudely about people. Even in front of the customer! If they talked about them I knew they were going to talk about me. The only reason why I went was because they are open 24/7. Next time I rather drive somewhere else! read more

Why do I continue to go here? The pharmacy technicians are so rude. Today's encounter: I walk up to the refill counter, the woman at the computer says right in front of my face: "Someone needs to come over here. I'm outta here. I gotta go get my kid! " and walks away. There were 6 or 7 workers that stood around looking at me standing there. I ask them "really?" She comes back and helps me really rudely. The gentleman at the ring out counter was so nice. The prescription was filled very quickly so I feel bad about this review. But wow, "kid" woman needs a new career, and I need a new pharmacy. Never been treated so rudely by a pharmacist in my life. Called my doctor, who confirmed she has continuous issues with this pharmacy, specifically Chad the pharmacist. Riva cvs needs to remember people have a choice in pharmacy, and with consistent negative reviews should really consider revamping staff to create a more positive outlook. I want to update my review. I stopped going to CVS at lunch because it's just an insane asylum there and each time I drive by some stupid delivery truck blocks off everything. However, I did go there yesterday to pick up some things and I have to say ... it is a rather nice store. They have a spiffy food section with salads and sandwiches, and all of the merchandise in the store is well-taken care of. The makeup is clean and properly sealed, you're not in danger of taking home stuff with germs in it. The parking lot is still hell unless you go during off hours and they need to do something about that, but I've been to worse drugstores. read more

At one time this place had good service, now it is absolutley horrible. I have a disease which requires multiple prescriptions and like clockwork this pharmacy has a way of screwing something up. To make matters worse they are less than helpful when the screw up is on their end (which it always is) leaving me to clean up the issue they created. They have also lied and attempted to blame their errors on my doctor when the mistake is obviously on their end. There will be no more trips to a CVS for me read more
