I've been going to this CVS my entire life. It's always been under-staffed. I feel bad for the pharmacy because it's always extremely busy there. And self-check out is difficult, can't I talk to a live person anymore in there??? Needless to say CVS has always been my only option in Annandale and having the drive-thru window is very convenient with small kids in tow. Now that Walgreens has opened up across the street I've switched over to them. It's just too crowded here. The parking lot there is a mess. It's also a cut-through for other traffic in the area. Why don't they hire more staff to keep up with the growing demand of consumers??!! The inside is run-down and it looks like it did back in 1999! The drive-thru window is utterly slow sometimes. It should be zero stars. For a while when Mark was the pharmacist there it was better. Unfortunately now it is back to horrible. They miss fill prescriptions, lose prescriptions, CVS screw up ready fill, don't bother to tell you that the prescription has changed, It is now over a total of three hours trying to straighten out the latest mess. The pharmacist last night promised a call from the morning pharmacist to confirm she/he had been in contact with the doctor's office. Still have not been in contact with them. Hours of stress every month. Unfortunately insurance insists on CVS. Stay away if you can. read more

CVS is everybit as good as RiteAid and Walgreens, But--woefully understaffed and overworked. For instance, today, Ana, one of the most conscious and longsuffering associates at the pharmacy dept., was valiantly trying to serve a long line of customers, as quickly as possible with no backup in sight. When I asked the manager why she did not provide a baxkup, she said she was busy filling prescriptions and so was everyone else. It seems to me (and the customers in the line) that she could have stepped away from a nonemergency occupation, like filling prescriptions, to a more irgent context requiring immediate attention, like customers standing in line too long. read more

In addition to the slow service in the past, today I arrived after learning my insurance company PAID for my medicine AND the CVS app indicated that my meds would be available today, I got there to be told that NO they were still awaiting dr approval for my medication. I said that's impossible as I was looking at the claim that said they were paid 5 days ago. Still told computer days otherwise. Left only to get a text saying RX pending dr approval. Went through drive through and was told that they received notification that they were still waiting for the approval from dr TODAY. I was like ummm yeah you just sent me the TEXT today and your app says it is ready today. Was told well sometimes the app gives wrong information!!! WT$?! read more

Went back for my second vaccine and it was as easy and efficient experience as my first one. Three of our family members received vaccines in this store and it it certifiably our new favorite CVS. Shopping there is easy and pleasant and it is so clean! Excellence job by management. read more

My doctor called to tell me that he personally had just placed an order for my prescription. I was to take it 50' across the store to the Minute Clinic to be injected. Amazingly (not), no one at CVS three hours later had any idea of this when I arrived for my appt at the Minute Clinic. One lady at the pharmacy was very polite that the order did not show up on the CVS computer. Another lady in the pharmacy was totally snotty, telling me that, "This is the pharmacy. We are not the Minute Clinic." The Minute Clinic lady was very kind, but repeated a lot of stuff I already knew, and in effect put the blame on me and my doctor. She even suggested that I run over to his office and bring back a paper copy of the prescription--way across town at 5:00 on a Friday afternoon. What is this? 1980? Somebody must have talked to my doctor, who is a young, competent cardiologist, whom I believe 100%. Somebody at CVS did not get his order into the computer correctly. What else could have happened? Given the ineptitude and the attitudes, I will never use the Little River Turnpike CVS again, including for the Minute Clinic. read more

Apparent No Mask Policy CVS Store 1383 Rt 236 and Backlick, Annandale. In the five minutes I spent in this store there were 8 customers without masks. There were more walking in when I left. I spoke to one of the customers who blew me off. No surprise there. I spoke to the Manager who said he couldn't do anything. Meaning he wouldn't do anything. He wouldn't even speak to the customers. If you want to increase your chances of Covid exposure I suggest you add this store to your shopping list. read more

Between the Drive Thru / In person & the CVS mobile app, this CVS pharmacy always seems to have conflicting data with regards to the dosing and of my medication, yet somehow, the medication directions on the bottle are always correct. Considering I've been taking these medications for quite some time & the dose has not changed, I believe that the pharmacists at this specific location need to round table issues as such. Every pharmacist that I speak with, their information is conflicting, as it is with the app. This pharmacy is unrealiable, the pharmacists are grumpy & to anyone out there, only in a pinch for a one time medication fill should one ever fill a prescription at this location. If I could, I'd give this pharmacy 0 (zero) stars, they don't deserve any. Fill your medication with caution. read more

This pharmacy is HORRIBLE. They gave me someone else's prescription and then when I tried to give it back to them they insisted it was correct. NO IT'S NOT! I couldn't believe it. That should never happen, NEVER. AND, today I had to go back to the pharmacy because they filled my son's prescription wrong- 45 tablets instead of 90. The pharmacist didn't understand what I was saying to her. I had to point it out to her that it is TWICE A DAY not once a day. At 1.5 tablets twice a day 45 tablets will last only two weeks, not a month. That is basic math that a pharmacist should absolutely know. Or at least be able to type into a calculator to figure out! Also, they never answer their phone. I have been on hold for up to 20 minutes! Incredible. read more

I don't know how this pharmacy has such bad reviews, but I can only speak for my experience. I ended up in the hospital on Christmas day, and I needed several prescriptions to be filled immediately. My go-to pharmacy was closed so I ended up at this CVS. I'm so glad they are open 24/7 and on Christmas because emergencies do happen. They had everything I needed in stock and they were able to fill it within 10 minutes. They also were kind enough to find a coupon for one of the pricier medications which significantly lowered the price. read more

I used to use this pharmacy and stopped. My experiences the past 2 weeks reminded me why. My little girl was diagnosed with an ear infection as well as pneumonia. This was late on a Thursday and I remembered this was a 24 hour pharmacy so went there to drop of the prescription at the drive-up. I was told 30 to 35 minutes. So I went to the market to get water melon and popsicles as suggested by the Pediatrician. No water melons at Safeway (do they stop having them after Labor Day or something?) so I had to go to a second super market. So it was at least 40 minutes (probably 45 minutes) by the time I got back to CVS and waited at the drive through. I was told "oh only a pharmacist can mix that up and he didn't get to it. Come back in 20 minutes. I told my room mate to pick it up later as this reminded me of previous times where I had similar times where I had to return there 2 and 3 times before my prescription was finally ready. So, fast forward a week. My kid has relapsed and I have to go after work and get a chest x-ray. We get that done and a prescription is called into this CVS. I wait an hour and decide I had better call before going to pick up the prescription. I call and after it rings for a few minutes it gets picked up and some one says "please hold" and immediately puts me on hold. I then hold for 14 minutes and someone picks up and is talking to someone else. I say "hello" repeatedly . Someone has either picked up the call accidentally or grabbed the wrong line and was not expecting me. Anyway, instead of putting me on hold they hang up on me. I call back and once again get put on old without some much as a "hello". I hold for 15 minutes and my phone is about to go dead. I really didn't want to wake up my sick kid to drive there only to find it wasn't ready, so I decided to pick it up this morning. As always at this CVS there was a line this morning, but the prescription was ready. NEVER AGAIN. read more

The Annandale CVS at 7205 Little River Turnpike is not well run, is poorly stocked and staffing needs to improve. I have been in Annandale for six years and the CVS has not improved. This is a very busy CVS and the actions taken to mitigate increased customer demands, reduce wait times, and improve customer support have not been adequate. This is especially true at the pharmacy where wait times can be very long. In addition, some of the pharmacy reps do not have a sufficient mastery of the English language to properly answer or understand questions about prescribed medications. This is very frustrating and leads to more wait times. Inventory control among over the counter pharmaceuticals remains a serious challenge, especially in the baby and toddler section. For example, saline nose drops, tri-vi-sol, d-vi-sol, baby/children's ibuprofen, Tylenol, Benadryl are routinely hit or miss. I can rarely go to this CVS and complete a shopping trip for diapers, baby and toddler food, pull ups, and associated pharmaceuticals. The store could have more inventory of these items, but a lot of the floor space is dedicated to cheap junk, alcohol, junk food, and home goods. A new Walgreens opened up across the street and I am giving them my business. The store is clean, the employees have a functional knowledge of English, and the inventory control is excellent and my wait times are very reasonable. read more

At this CVS, it is organized, clean, and the staff are very helpful. Just like many other CVS stores, you can find a variety of products for your health. However, I find that your time in line is a lot longer now that the self-service cash registers have been removed. Although there are many staff run registers at the front, only two employees will be working when the line has seven or eight people waiting. Not sure why the self-service registers were removed, but it seems that taking them out has caused many customers to feel frustrated as they are stuck waiting in line longer than they would in the past. read more

Hmm not sure why they call this a Minute Clinic 'coz the Nurse Practitioner took about 30-40 minutes with each patient. Ms Sturges (Practitioner) was outstanding & did everything she could to perform a job well done but being by herself & handling all patients' data entry & billings, of course she'll take a while longer. Don't ever come to this CVS on a Saturday! Service was horrible. I had to wait in 3 different lines just to pick up a prescription that they called and told me was ready... the staff were not on the same page and kept telling me conflicting things to do. I tried to speak to the pharmacist to get a clear idea of which line I should be standing in and he would not give me eye contact or stop what he was doing to assist me since he was one of the ones who game me wrong information. Their system texted me a half hour before my listed time and I went to wait. While I was waiting a person told me that the nurse was at lunch and won't be back for another hour. I called the store while I was waiting because I knew that I would be SOL if I went the front of the store to talk to someone. The store manager told me she had no clue how Minute Clinic works. One of the slowest CVS's I've ever been to for picking up medicine. Highly suggest using the Walgreens in Annandale.

They are so rude and don't try to help the customers. They only care about themselves. And make sure you check your bag if you ever go to this store, coz if they forget to put an item in your bag, even if it's 40 bucks, then you lost 40 bucks because they blame you or say that you lost it somewhere else. I've been coming here for over a year & a half during the early hours of the day and every time I go to this cvs, the staff are always friendly and willing to help. But, usually the couple things that I need are out of stock every time. It's a bigger cvs than the one in Heritage so I prefer to come here. Don't come in the evenings though. I waited in the drive thru window (I kid you not) for 30 MINUTES to be told to come inside bc my insurance isn't active when I just took my kid to the doctors office so I know for a fact it is. They're slow, they don't understand half of the things you say & they're rude when YOU can't understand THEM bc they don't know how to explain themselves correctly. Stay far away. I would be remiss not to write a review on this pharmacy. They may be the most unorganized poorly run place I have seen in a long time. They are a disgrace to the CVS name. I have had many issues with this pharmacy over the past few years but this last issue will be the last time I ever go there. I dropped off a prescription at 11:30am and was told it would take 40 minutes to fill. I was fine with that since I had other things to do. I came back at 5:30pm to pick up the order. I sat in the drive thru line for 10 minutes it wasn't moving. I decided to go inside thinking it would be faster. I had been at the hospital in lots of pain so was anxious to get my medication and go home. After going inside the line was the same as the drive thru. I was the 5th person in the line. When I got to the register I was told my order was NOT ready. At that point I was livid! Why would it take 6 hours to fill ONE prescription? Unacceptable! They told me it would take 5-10 min to get it. I told them to give me my script so I can go to another pharmacy. I am determined NEVER to go back to that pharmacy. They need to get their act together. Very disappointing. read more
