I know how much mass weighs but how much does Speed Weigh?

There are many ways to get high. Some prefer the crackway, others like the weedway. If you prefer the Speedway, then this gas station is for you. This is my gas station of choice when I am in Annandale getting Korean food or all the other great treats in this area. It's open until all hours of the night and usually has pretty competitive prices for this region. So I like it. A lot of the area closes down after midnight, but not this awesome spot, which is right in the middle of everything. And I appreciate it.

I've been a loyal customer since 2014. Mostly because the Premium gas is about 2 cents cheaper than the gas station at the other end of the block. THOUGH THIS WILL NO LONGER BE ENOUGH TO KEEP MY BUSINESS. For the past 6 months, since there was a change in ownership, Speedway (previously Hess) has become the bottom-of-the-barrel in customer service. Still, it was on my way to work so why not? The WORST customer service experience has come from this place, a woman who hides or does not wear a name tag (the reason for this review). On a few recent visits I recognized there was a new staff but much to my amazement was not even greeted or made welcome whatsoever (if it were my first day on the job I'd try to at least put on a smile), nonetheless I asked for my usual "10 Gallons Premium" GTR's are high maintenance, swiped my visa and went on to fill gas. The fuel pump stopped at 3 Gallons, the new woman had charged me $10 dollars, so I had to go back and make line AGAIN, this time I had to do some math so I could tell her how much because she couldn't find the Gallons button. During my second visit I stayed outside to wash the windshield,as the pollen levels were high that day, while my girlfriend went inside to pay for me. When she came back I tried to pump gas, IT WOULDNT LET ME SELECT THE GRADE. And AGAIN she charged me for the wrong thing. This time 10 Gallons but for the REGULAR gas. I had to go back and make line AGAIN. I mean come'on! It's called SPEEDWAY not I-WILL-SLOW-YOUR-DAY. Fine, next time I would make sure to be perfectly clear. The next time I came for a refill of gas I repeated the grade and amount of gasoline. This woman had the audacity to snark at me and told me not repeat myself. RUDE I'm trying to make sure YOU DONT MAKE ANY MISTAKES. TODAY WAS THE FINAL STRAW. I waited in line, two registers were opened (a miracle), but when it was my turn THE SAME AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMAN WITH NO NAME TAG closed the register right when I got to the front "temporarily" and left me to wait for a new staff member to come. He ALSO didn't have a name tag and told me there was no "Gallon" button, I assured him there was. And here's where it got interesting, the lady came back and told ME to be quiet while she was doing stock, she said I was being disruptive. What?? I spoke two words. I told her I wasn't having it I ALWAYS pay by the Gallons and that's all I wanted. She refused to ring up the order and the new guy IGNORED me while she went to the back. Well that's cool, I just took my $30 bucks and went to the gas station next door for the very first time. The guy who greeted me said he liked my ride and even showed me how to use their pump outside with a big smile. I guess Speedway doesn't like having customers.

Good place to get gas! It's usually the cheapest option and you get a discount for being a member. Well lit and several pumps available.

I started going when they were still a Hess because it was on the way from my old home to my old office.

I came in with 3 locks on my tires I needed removed because I had recently lost my key. They removed all three but damaged the bolt in the picture. After buying a new set of locks and trying to tighten it on, they accused me of being the one that did the damage -_- AS IF. I never thought I'd need the police present for ANYTHING in my life. After seeing the damage, the manager, grabs her mechanic and asks him to check. They grab my BRAND NEW LOCK and try to tighten it on with their HANDS BRO I can't make this up. And then they tell me, "look! It works you're wrong." Right before telling me the brand new lock is what is damaged. They communicated in SPANISH, WHICH I SPEAK, but I guess she forgot so, and said to each other, "esta sobado" meaning the bolt is damaged. If you zoom in on the pictures you can see the difference between the 3 old ones and the 1 new lug nut. The 3 old ones have SEVERE signs of struggle which they did struggle to remove them because they didn't have the proper key so they had to use their own. And the brand new lock is where the problem lies......... YEAH RIGHT I highly recommend people stay away from here, these people are unprofessional as hell. I ultimately ended up getting a refund of $75 AFTER she tried to charge me $110 to fix the bolt they ruined. All this trouble for a $35 difference that could've been avoided if she had just agreed to fix what they had ruined. ZERO integrity ZERO character.

Got me in quickly for a tire change, courteous and did a fine job. On the road again...read more

The term "honest auto mechanic" is usually an oxymoron, as it's virtually impossible to find an…read more"honest auto mechanic" these days. So-called, "ASE certified mechanics" at the STEAL-erships are more part replacers rather than, technicians. These "mechanics" just take their fancy tablets/scan tools, and after plugging into your car's ODB port, spout off some diagnostic codes with parts to replace leading to hundreds if not thousands of dollars in "repairs." Thanks to Yelp and always trusted Yelp friend, Hannah H, I was guided to Hillbrook Automotive several years ago and have been coming ever since. The owner, Mr. Choi, is well-known in the Korean community for being an experienced mechanic, and more importantly HONEST when it comes to your auto repair needs. While Hillbrook Automotive' s clientele may be predominately Korean, over the years I've been coming here, I've noticed folks from all races, creeds, and socio-economic classes take their vehicles to be serviced by Mr. Choi and his team of skilled mechanics. A sure sign that of a garage does honest and good work, is (1). How busy it is and (2). the type of cars they work on. At Hillbrooke, I've seen not only the more common Hondas, Toyotas, etc. being worked on, but it's not uncommon to find higher-end vehicles like Mercedes, BMWs, Lexus, Acuras, in the garage bays. If folks with these high dollar vehicles come to Mr. Choi for service, that speaks VOLUMES. I've even witnessed a few times where people who live in MD will have their cars TOWED here, because they know Mr. Choi will do good work and at a fair price. According to a 2023 report from credit agency Experian (https://www.nerdwallet.com/article/loans/auto-loans/average-monthly-car-payment), the average car payment is $729 for a new vehicle and $528 for a used car...ouch! It's no wonder that many Americans are opting to keep their cars for longer and keep driving it, until the figurative "wheels fall off." My front brakes needed replacing, and just out of curiosity since I had one of those STEAL-ership coupons in the mail, I took my car to get a quote. After nearly spitting out the "free" coffee, I said thanks, but no thanks, and wouldn't you know that Mr. Choi was able to install new rotors and brakes pad for $700 cheaper than big-box STEAL-ership?!?! Just a few things to keep in mind if you take your vehicle here for service: * The parking lot is small (since there is also a gas station here). So after pulling in and finding a parking spot, look for or ask for Mr. Choi. Provide him with a brief description of work you need, and he'll take your phone number to call you after diagnosing the issue. Note: It can be very chaotic in the morning during peak drop off time, and also don't be surprised if you have to wait some time to speak with Mr. Choi. He'll be easy to spot since all the staff wear name tags, and he'll be the older Korean gentleman that everyone will be congregating around. * You will likely need someone to drop off / pickup while your car is being serviced. There isn't a "waiting room," per se. There are a few chairs inside where the cashier is located, and a small uncomfortable bench. But you aren't really going to want to wait there for a few hours, if possible. * I HIGHLY recommend getting there before 9am. After a certain time (usually around 12pm noon), depending on the complexity of the repair, you will likely have to leave your car over night, or Mr. Choi will ask you to bring your car back the next day. Not that Hillbrook Automotive needs any more 5 star reviews, but I'm so thankful that Mr. Choi and team have extended the longevity of my car well north of 100K miles. I know at some point, I'll need to get a newer vehicle, but until then, I'll only bring my car here when it needs service.
