The only downside of this place is it feels too nice for little old Turlock. The ribeye here rivals or is better than the best steak houses in the Bay Area. I ordered it rare and it came perfectly rare. My wife got the filet and said it was the best steak she's ever had. The sides were all exceptional, the appetizers were great, and they even have a kids menu - a rarity at a place this nice. Our service was great, and we had a great time. I made reservations a week in advance to get a call 4 hours before my reservations to be told they are closed due to construction. Practically perfect in every way. We arrived just as the restaurant opened and they were able to seat us right away without a reservation, which was fortunate for a Friday night. The place is gorgeous... though the red pig ceramic placed randomly above the kitchen may benefit from a blurb of explanation on the back of the menu. I'm sure it's meaningful, but it looks a bit out of place. Not bad that the ceramic pig is my only critique. Our server was delightful. All staff was attentive and made sure our drinks were always full. The place started getting busy as we rounded out our meal, but my partner and I were still able to hear one another speak. When we looked at the menu, we weren't expecting Bay Area pricing... but after we ordered and tasted the food, we agreed that we would come back and pay for the experience again. We started with an onion flower, ended up splitting the Manhattan bacon filet with Brussels sprouts and loaded red potato mash. We added a side of That Macaroni & Cheese, which had just won a local Mac & Cheese competition. My partner ordered a few Bourbon Toddies. The filet was impeccable. Flavored and cooked to perfection. I love beef and this was hands down the best filet I have had in my life. Do yourself a favor, and order it next time! The Brussels were also tasty and cooked well. They were soft, but still had a bite to them. The red potato mash complimented the meal and was seasoned to perfection. That Macaroni though! I see why it won. I have a lot of sensory difficulties around food, but the noodles were perfectly al dente, the cheese sauce blended to perfection, and the pork belly with the crumb topping added to the overall experience and the textures layered beautifully. It was an elegantly cozy mac. We will definitely be back... the difficult thing for me will be exploring the rest of the menu after such a delicious first experience that begs to be repeated. I've been fluttering between 2 and 3 stars while belting out gaseous burps and enjoying cottonmouth from the ungodly amount of salt I consumed with tonight's burger. You guys should seriously taste test food before you open, your salmon made me think I had COVID, zero taste. I've never had a headache so fast. I have actually, it was a Lil Yachty song, but I digress. I came here once before and split a Tomahawk with a friend. Left unimpressed but I do eat well and have eaten at real restaurants so maybe my standards are too high....NOT! Those places didn't charge $155 for a tomahawk with no taste! I'm going to Emanuel Med Center so my insurance can pay $16K to tell me my cholesterol levels aren't healthy. I'm very upset that this alleged upscale restaurant is, well, promoting itself as upscale. It's just not. It's a step above Red Robin with nicer paint. I will say this, Cheyenne and the bartender group, ABSOLUTELY worth every dime, I'd go back for drinks. I don't even really blame our server, she was great and covering every table on earth. First off it seem like a cozy restaurant was greeted by the host and she sat us at the most awkward area right next to the open kitchen while we can see what the cooks are doing. We'd ask for a different table but she said none was available for our size party. Our waiter was awesome though. When the food came my prime rib was not medium rare and my sister steak was not med rare either. Suggesting it is a steakhouse it should be done right the first time. My prime rib tasted strongly of rosemary I thought it was too much. Prime rib should be tasty and not overpowering of one type of flavor. Overall I would not try it again. Took my adult son here for belated birthday dinner. Service was excellent. My son ordered a tomahawk steak, the server warned us it would take 45 minutes. My niece ordered the filet, both medium rare. These were done to perfection. My ribeye ordered medium rare was more medium, I believe that was the thickness of the steak less than a half inch. This is not a steakhouse. You have 3 steak options to choose from, none being Wagyu, Kobe or other premium steak options. Steak was ordered medium well, received medium rare to rare. There is zero flavor in the steak. ‍ Burgers were ordered well, received rare. Sent back a second time and still bleeding. Calamari was was bland and unbelievably undercooked, will never order again. Service was unbelievably slow. Atmosphere was nice however seems odd to have to walk through the restaurant to drink at the bar. I think I 'went in' with the thought of being 'wowed' on every aspect of this place! I mean, it's gorgeous inside and out! We were nicely greeted at the door and the server was great! That's the 'wow' stuff... Our party of 3 was seated right next to the kitchen/server pickup area where staff were all congregating and it was quite loud! Much yelling back and forth between kitchen and servers. And it was probably the warmest table in the house? (not wowed) After asking my guests to repeat themselves several times, I asked our server to move us to a quieter/cooler table. The new table was both quieter and cooler. They brought these small hard warm slices of bread with lots of holes in them with some spread which I think was aioli? (Not wowed) We all ordered filet mignon with different sides. The filet was a little underwhelming. I mean it was OK, but not $42 OK. (not wowed) I've had better filet at a chain like Hungry Hunter, where you could cut it with a butter knife or fork. (Remember the Whiskey Peppercorn Sauce?) yum My mashed potatoes and broccolette sides were unremarkable and 'very small' portions. Apparently broccolettes are baby broccoli that are mostly long skinny stems with tiny little, not quite formed broccoli on the ends of the stems? (not wowed) And whatever chef started the silly 'tower of food' on the plate, I don't get it? The steak covers the vegetables so you get meat juice in everything. You have to disassemble the tower before you can get your meat and veggies. Maybe it's a younger generation thing? (not wowed) Then we decided to have dessert. A few selections of 'nothing to write home about' desserts. I got the brownie a la mode. It was two square brownies with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. No chocolate sauce or whipped cream. However the server pointed out a 'spec' of caramel sauce between the plate and the bottom brownie which looked like an accidental drip of caramel on the plate. The brownies were moist and delicious, but overall for dessert. I left disappointed on a lot of levels. Very limited meat selection, I was hoping for more than three cuts to choose from. Sides were good, but small. Their beer and cocktail selection has good variety (kudos for Firestone Merlin on tap). While the steak was decent, it didn't impress me enough to justify the price. Wife said her salmon was very good and cooked perfectly, but people are going to come here for the meat, not the fish (which many places in town already offer). Bottom line is the price being charged for what you get isn't really worth it. There has been a lot of attempts to open higher end steak houses in Turlock and most haven't made it. With an expanded menu (prime rib and porterhouse would be good starts) and more reasonable pricing this place may survive. I just don't think with the current menu at the current price point it will last in this town for too long. Hopefully adjustments will be made and they make it! read more

We made reservations for a double date. I'm assuming it was a busy Friday night, since we couldn't get our reservation until 8 pm. When we got there, the staff welcomed us and sat us at our table right away. They brought waters and toasted bread with a side of a spread. Our waitress was super nice and helpful. She gave us great menu and cocktail recommendations. We absolutely loved the fluffy clover cloud drink she recommended (ordered 2 rounds of these delicious cocktails). If you love cold foam cold brews, you may love these drinks since they have a similar cold foam texture. For appetizers we ordered the calamari and rosemary fries. Both were delicious if you're into fried foods. For our main course, we ordered ribeye steaks. I ordered broccolini and Mac and cheese on the side. The Mac and cheese was my favorite dish of the night! My boyfriend loved their deep fried Brussels sprouts - he highly recommends these. It was a lot of food for us and had a lot of left overs. For the dessert, we ordered a brownie a la mode. I thought the brownie had a rich chocolate flavor but I wish they would have warmed it up. It was cold and hard. Service was definitely a 10/10. Great Steak came out just how I ordered it. Had this salt and pepper light crisp crust to the outside and medium rare inside. So Good! Our Hostess and Server were super friendly, attentive, and prompt. We also got the Rosemary Fries as an appetizer and those things were Amazing! When the waitress checked in I had mentioned my steak was over cooked and she did offer to send it back but i was going to try and eat it anyways because maybe it was just the outer piece that wasn't cooked right. But the further I cut into the center the more I had realized the steak was just not cooked properly. It didn't taste great either so 30 mins later when we were checked on again we were just ready to go. I asked her to just take it off and check us out and she agreed. I had 3 bites of the steak, half the fries, and had finished my Brussels. She came back and said her manager said because I declined to have it remade they were not going to take it off but offered a dessert. I declined dessert but decided to continue to wait and have the dish remade and packaged to go. The salmon was nothing to write home about. The filets had good taste. We were informed well after our order that the potatoes au gratin were "out". So we ordered the loaded mash potatoes. Unfortunately, the mash potatoes were cold. The wedge salad was small. Rosemary fries were good. Put all that together with extremely slow bar service - not something I'm going to recommend to anyone. We won't be going back. First of all you need reservations to get a seat here. So it was for my birthday just party of 2. We show up and no one is at the counter to greet. The restaurant was actually fairly empty. And it took at least 20 mins to seat us even with a reservation. And the only other guests waiting had a reservation as well. And then in the reservation we requested a booth. When we get seated finally, the staff tried to seat us at an open table. We said we requested a booth in our reservation, and mind you there was maybe 4 other groups at the restaurant and there were plenty of booths unoccupied. So then we get seated at a booth. Then it took a good 15 mins for the waiter (Sebastian) to come take our order. Then the food took forever to come. I had to ask 3 times for my water to be refilled. And reminded him the next time I saw him, I asked for my water to be refilled twice already. Considering I ordered a $100 steak in addition to my other guests food, and dessert (in Turlock, not SF or San Jose...no Turlock) so as pretentious as a $100 steak is I would expect top notch customer service! But no, Sebastian took forever with everything. And when we asked for our food to be boxed up, he just drops off the boxes and walks away. Again, at a restaurant that pushes the pretentious vibe I expect my food to be boxed by the staff! Nope just drops off the boxes and I asked for a bag. He never brings one. Then finally some other staff asks if we need anything, I said I already told Sebastian I needed a bag like 15 minutes ago and he never brought one. So far I have came here twice. And to be upfront I really want to give this place 5 stars. It's a beautiful restaurant with great seating. But for a steakhouse I would say my food was alright. I had the filet mignon and my wife had the salmon. Brussels sprouts were very salty I had to send it back. My wife said the salmon was good but had a fishy taste and felt that it wasn't fresh. Even though they still charge you market value. Waitress and server were great but the time to bring out the food took just close to an hour. I honestly wanted to send my wife's Salmon back but unfortunately they took so long to bring the food out that we were worried about taking a long time to bring it out. I went in last night for a late Mother's Day dinner with my family and left without eating our meal. We came in around 6:50 pm and were seated. The server was very kind and attentive despite the service being pretty slow. We got our drinks and appetizer around 7:20 pm and placed our order for dinner. We ordered a burger, ribeye and a kids meal. From there on we had our bread, appetizer and drinks. After 30 minutes or so we realized no one had come back to give us an update on our meal and/or ask for refills. Even though the restaurant did not appear busy, we assumed they were simply short staffed and remained patient. Around 8:15 pm our toddler became impatient so we waved down our server to ask if it would be much longer before our dinner came out. He stepped away to ask and returned to tell us that it would still be some time, but he would try to get the kids meal out first. He proceeded to tell us there was a delay because of the ribeye that we ordered and the time it was taking to cook it. We decided to ask for our check and cancel our order. We left around 8:30 pm without having dinner and went to In-N-Out. The server apologized many times despite none of this actually being his fault. The fact that he was taking the initiative to do this versus an actual manager addressing the situation was unfortunate. This is me simply sharing my first experience here. Again the server was very kind, the ambiance was decent, the service itself was slow, but the fact that we had to wait so long to eventually decide to leave without a meal was a bit much. If at the time of arrival we had been notified that there would be a wait, we could've made a decision sooner on wanting to stay or go elsewhere. To have customers come in, make them wait and not communicate properly isn't really a good look. I've heard and read mixed reviews about this place and decided to give it a shot for myself. It's unfortunate that the experience we had was so poor. In my opinion this place and its menu are trying to achieve a big city experience in the valley, but falling extremely short on the actual service is unfortunate. Especially for the high price they are charging customers for almost a 2 hour wait. Overall, I'm not sure if I'll be back, but I hope there are changes in the near future for this place, otherwise good-luck. read more
