A very nice restaurant on Turlock's Main Street had outstanding food unlike any in this area as well as wonderful service.

Been here twice and both times food was not very good. The first time was for a work dinner so our party was a bit bigger. Waitress was nice but seemed really overwhelmed. They had pork chops or tomahawks... those were the only two options at a steakhouse. I ordered the salmon entree. It was DROWNED in oil. I mean seriously an insane amount of oil was used. The appetizers were good not great nor worth the price they were asking. The second time I was here was for Valentine's Day. The ambiance they portray online is far different than the one you experience. It's really loud, they were playing love songs but the kitchen staff were playing Suicide Boys and the combination of both genres and all the guests trying to yell over it is really a buzzkill. Once again our food came out DRENCHED in oil. It was pooling into my plate, really ruined the dish. I really wanted a steak but I really didn't have the confidence that they would be able to cook it the way I prefer because the kitchen seemed chaotic. I really want to like this place but the last two times I've been it just hasn't been what we've expected. It seems that they don't do well with a full house and the food is rushed and not as great as it could be. Unfortunately I probably won't be going back for a third try. read more

Went here with a group of people. We had reservations and were seated within 10 mins of our time. The customer service is wonderful. Our server started by introducing the deal of the day and also soup of the day. Most of my party order the filet mignonette or rib eye. The mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts and roasted garlic where a hit. Some of the peoples steaks were undercooked and not medium rare as stated. So be careful of that. I ordered the cuts burger with rosemary fries. Added the works such as avocado. Bacon and cheese. It was good, although it was salty. The place itself is more on the upscale side, definitely would dress a little nicer than usual. Plenty of outdoor seating with fires and also indoor seating is great as well. read more

After ordering 25 minutes and still no food we asked for bread or anything for that matter they were out of bread, butter, truffle..... damn near everything and actually said "tell us what you do have and we will pick from that list." The waiter was so nice but seriously the food was awful. The appetizer was so bitter I don't know if it was the tomatoes or what but my boyfriend and I both spit out the bruschetta. I ordered the 8 oz medium-well it came back red in the center (I understand it's a thicker cut but wasn't expecting red red in the center). My boyfriend ordered the 14 oz and it came back closer to medium well than what he ordered which was medium. His steak was smothered in the cold butter bone marrow and he said it tasted like butter with fat bits in it. The waiter offered us dessert and it was PUMPKIN CHEESECAKE. IT'S JANUARY and I could've sworn it tasted identical to the Costco one. The bread was the best part and not the paid for bread but the complimentary bread!!!! Best Ribeye probably ever. We came per recommendation and had the full experience. We started off with the charcuterie board which was AMAZING & and rich with flavor. My husband ordered the ribeye- I had a taste, the steak was moist and prepared perfectly. If you've never had black truffle butter it's not uncommon to confuse the flavor with salt; which appears to be a theme of negative reviews (and the associated unrefined palates). I had the garlic burger with avocado. It needed NOTHING. AGAIN- prepared perfectly. No condiments needed. We ended with dessert- bread pudding. It was served chilled and built beautifully on a foundation of custard (like creme brulee). Will we be back? YES! And, I will encourage others to take a drive to Turlock for a FANTASTIC dining experience. Our server, Kaylene deserves a shout-out. Came here after trying another steakhouse in Merced. Heard good things and would have to agree the food was amazing and so was the service. My date ordered a New York steak with asparagus and mashed potatoes. She ordered the steak med well and it came out cooked perfectly first shot. She also ordered a drink that was also amazing although I don't remember what it was. I ordered the rib eye with Brussel sprouts and rosemary French fries. Steak med rare and this too was cooked to perfection. Appetizer was the blooming onion (I think that's what it was called) and it too was great. Service was a 10. Our waiter was knowledgeable and provided great recommendations along with a good explanation of the chefs 3 styles of cooking the steaks. Would highly recommend this restaurant. read more

I really wanted to give this place five stars because of the hospitality of their staff. Specifically: Kailyn (I don't know how she spells her name) and Christian (manager). My husband and I came here with my in-laws because we were in town for a short vacation. The rustic atmosphere is great. The staff is amazing. But, I'm sad to say that there was nothing impressive about the quality of the food. Which then becomes disappointing when you're looking at the prices. We ordered the salmon with Brussel sprouts and Mac N Cheese. It was sad that the salmon was overcooked and lacked seasoning. The Brussel sprouts were amazing; until you get to some of them that was extremely oily. So, I hope that on most days they strain it properly to drain that oil. Otherwise, you were like me and just had a mouthful of oil. The Mac N Cheese tasted like it came from a box and I know that harsh, but the rotini wasn't even al dente. It probably needed a couple more minutes. The cheese felt powdery, which is why I compared it to a box Mac N Cheese. Now, unless that was the concept of the dish; I've never come across anything like it. It wasn't pleasant at all. The Tomahawk Steak we were excited. As you can see, it's a pretty big cut. Unfortunately, very disappointing. It took them an hour to bring it out because the first time they fired it; it was overdone. Our server, Kailyn, was nice enough to be honest about that. When it did come out you'll notice how charred the outside was. If you know anything about steaks, it's an indication that it stayed on the grill for far too long. Now that can be a good thing or a bad thing. In this case, it just gave the steak a burnt taste. Upon cutting it, they almost got the temperature right-medium rare-instead, most of it was still raw. If you prefer your steak this way, that's foine. But, that's not how a Tomahawk Steak is usually prepared. They didn't even trim out some of the fat and it wasn't rendered. So, you were basically eating this white subcutaneous fat, because most part of it was raw. The brownie with vanilla ice cream was alright. I say "alright," because the brownie in the middle was raw. Unless, they were trying to go for some sort of texture; it was raw in the middle. Honestly, the ice cream and caramel was the best part of it. Now, the night ended up not being a total lost because Kailyn came by a couple of times and asked how things were going. And I mean, giving them an honest critique in my opinion will help them grow and move forward. We found out they opened in July. So, we told them these deficits because personally; I wouldn't go back. I'm an LA girl and Turlock is my second home. I'm looking for a good steakhouse to splurge on. lol. It was nice for Christian, the manager, to come out and apologise for the experience. He then invited us to come back at a later time, so that they can improve and do better. Which is a nice gesture. Meet here with a couple of friends for my fiance's birthday dinner. Made a reservation for a Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised with how easy parking was. Found a spot just a couple doors down. Upon arrival we were promptly greeted and seated at our table. Restaurant is slightly dimmed and added a nice touch. We were a larger party but were able to get our order in quickly. Drinks took a little longer to come out but food made up for it. Sides were definitely served as a family style dish. My dry aged ribeye was cooked to perfection and I topped it with the truffle butter. Would definitely recommend the garlic, mashed potatoes and mac & cheese. For a drink recommend the tequila daisy. What a horrible experience. I would not recommend going here if you are a party of 13. We were told that because of how large our party is that they wouldn't serve us fillet or sirloin. The kitchen staff said if we ordered those cuts the food wouldn't come out at the same time and some food would be cold. We were also told that the steaks will only come out as medium or medium rare because of how large our party is. I only eat my steak rare to medium rare but my mom and a couple others on the other hand like their steak well done. Don't you think as a paying customer you would be able to get the cut of meat you want at the doneness you want??? When the food came out my steak was medium well lol the mashed potato's were cold and I had to ask for my water and Pepsi to be refilled. There was our party and a table of 4 a table of two and a table of two sitting in the bar. We will not be going back unfortunately. I really had high hopes and wanted to like this place. I was sadly mistaken. The place is owned by veteran which is awesome but it just wasn't up to the high price standards. I will be calling to talk to the owner and let him know our disappointment. Don't know why this place isn't rated higher. I came in on the recommendation of a coworker and had a great meal. Got seated quickly and ordered the bacon-wrapped sirloin with bone marrow butter. The steak was so tender I might have believed you if you told me it was filet, not sirloin, but the bacon was still nice and crisp. The waiter offered to discuss it with the chef and management when he came back to the table. He told us that particular steak is just tough sometimes and management chooses not to adjust the bill or replace the steak. I wasn't sure if reservations were required, so I checked the night before and saw plenty of available slots. I skipped the reservations. Bread baguette was brought over served with olive oil and sea salt on the bread. Butter provided with balsamic vinegar mixed in. Interesting, not my fave. Filet mignon arrives cooked well done and overly salty. My rib eye was cooked correctly medium, but the outer crust was salty. Too much sea salt again! Waitress comes back to check in and offers to bring another filet mignon cooked medium pink not well done. My husband declined at first. I offered him my rib eye, which he said was much better than his. I told the waitress to go ahead and make another filet this time medium rare & we'll take it to go. Drink-wise we ordered Whiskey Sours and Lemon Drops. Both of which were excellent. Complimentary bread was a joke as it was a couple of bite size pieces of a toast. Service was great. The server was very attentive and knowledgeable. Not sure why but it felt the seating was a little uncomfortable, may be the booth was in a curved shape. Pork chops were well seasoned and delicious. The chicken sandwich was way too sweet for my husband. They did offer us complimentary birthday dessert but it was awkward for them to ask if we want to eat there or take our dessert home. My daughter's Alfredo chicken was a little bland. The charcuterie board was ok for our taste but may be that's the standard. I have three letters for our experience here.... OMG! This steakhouse is incredible. We went here for dinner with friends over the weekend and we were so impressed. Where do I start? First of all, the staff was very attentive. They brought us out a delicious charcuterie board to enjoy while we waited for our meal. I had the filet mignon which absolutely melted in my mouth. It was so tender I barely needed my knife. I had the broccolini and Mac and cheese as my sides and both were delicious. I finished everything! My husband had the tomahawk steak which was gigantic! I've never in my life seen anything like it. I knew there was no way he would be able to finish it...he gave it his best shot but in the end...he had to fold. It was just soooo much steak! Tasty or Wastey? Totally Wastey!!!! We went to this place, because we were given a gift card. I ordered the blackened pork chop dinner. I also ordered a side of Brussel sprouts. The pork chop was horrible. It looked ok at first, but as I cut into it, it looked like they put it in "Shake & Bake" crumbs. Not good. I decided to go back again, for the Brussel sprouts, this time, they tasted like gas from a bbq pit. The burger was not your ordinary burger. Why try to change a burger?
