Long story short, the owner goes above and beyond to help the little guy. No joke. Long story. Last year we had a leak from our dishwasher that damaged our hardwood floors. I had 3 different companies inspect the damage and provide bids. The Custom Flooring representative was the only one to explain that he would rather have is boss, the owner for company, come out to make the inspection because he was much more experienced and the damage was much more extensive than originally thought. Nice touch, I thought. When the owner, Randy, showed up, he relayed his lengthy experience and explained the nuances of what happens to the appearance of water-damaged hard-wood floors. After some further inspection of the damaged areas, he explained what would need to be replaced and what water damaged areas outside of the kitchen would need to be cleaned. Randy also provided several different repair options for consideration as well, options not provided by previous bidders. On a side note, my insurance claim was denied upon the first request. When I informed Randy of this, he provided additional information as to what the original insurance inspector might have overlooked and offered to be present if we could get a second inspection. Not necessary AT ALL for him to do this, but I was very appreciative and accepted his offer. Randy showed up before the inspector did (another nice touch) and went out of his way to discuss the extent of the damage in ways I never could have, helping us to finally receive payment for the claim. I obviously agreed to have Randy tackle the project. Since he had other major projects on his hands (involving several homes), he had a flooring team of two gentlemen show up. They were on time, professional and knowledgeable. They would always let me know when they arrived and when they left. The job took about 12 days and was done to perfection. The issue I had with my floor was small in comparison to the several jobs Randy was already working on. Yet he went out of his way to personally review the damage, talk with the insurance inspector and still provide a top-notch team when he didn't even need to take on the job. I wasted several weeks getting other bids and dealing with insurance issues. Going forward, I know I won't have half the troubles or wasted time by contacting Randy directly. read more

We had initially contacted Custom Flooring Specialist about removing wood floors in the kitchen and replacing with tile. I could not imagine how this would work so it took me 23 years of thinking about it. I called Custom Flooring because of their ratings. Randy came over, took one look at this challenge and made a recommendation to increase the amount of the floor to be tiled. Once he did that, I could finally visualize how the floor would look and I said yes to his ideas. Besides the wood floor in the kitchen, the kitchen island was an absolute horrendous eyesore and after 23 years, the cabinets were starting to disentigrate. Randy had to work with what was there in order to avoid electrical problems. I wanted something that added a wow factor to the kitchen. See the before and after pictures. Randy gave us an estimate of 6 weeks. He finished 3 days early and the 6 weeks flew right by because there was someone working every day, so we saw progress every day. There were minor problems along the way, big surprise, Randy and his crew addressed them immediately. Randy made some suggestions that I wasn't too sure about, but, those suggestions made all the difference in the world, giving our kitchen a clean, solid finish. I knew going into this that the kitchen remodel would be expensive. In the reviews I found for this company, they had a lot of positive reviews and one negative. Michelle responded to the complaint rather than blowing off the client. Her response to that negative review gave me a bit more confidence in a company I knew nothing about. Taking out wood floors and putting in tile is an expensive and nerve wracking undertaking. For this amount of money, I was nervous about finding someone who would do the job at the quoted cost, in the quoted amount of time and have the end results that I wanted, which is a fantastic looking kitchen and user friendly, and no more hardwood floors in the kitchen. We were looking to do some kitchen remodeling when I came across the storefront for Custom Flooring Specialists. We were looking to update our kitchen and put in hard wood floor. The window had all of these items listed! I called for an appointment, we weren't available earlier so Randy came out at 8pm! He discussed what we wanted, or didn't want. We really weren't sure what we were really looking for! We wanted to change the color of our cabinets. Randy actually talked us out of changing the cabinets! He said they were beautiful the way they were and he would do anything else to the kitchen to make us love our cabinets! We went to the show room and after showing him flooring that was no longer available, he said he could match the look. He installed and stained Hickory in our living room, kitchen and foyer. It was exactly the look we were looking for! They laid tile around the doors, to help protect the wood. It looks amazing! They also took down wall paper and textured the walls, painted interior doors, replaced a desk cabinet and replaced our island countertop. Randy helped us with design details and had great suggestions when we weren't sure what to do. Custom Flooring Specialists were quick with a bid and only charged us the price on the bid. In need of replacing our floors. Met Michelle at Home and Garden Show. After talking with other flooring booths we came back to Custom Flooring. Went to the shop and picked the style that we thought would look the best. Michelle came to the house and measured and got to meet the dogs (Great Danes). Quote was fair so signed contract and they started. When crew arrived they were fast and efficient pulling the old hardwood out as well as the carpet we wanted gone. When they started with the new flooring they found a problem with the product and stopped to see what was wrong. Manager arrived and looked it over and called the company to see about getting new batch for us. Ended up with a different selection without any change in price. New floor looks better than the earlier choice when installed. Very pleased with the outcome. If you need some new floors here is a company to consider. Fast efficient and nice. I'm very pleased with their work. They're very prompt and professional with their estimates and deliver nice quality at a reasonable price. I got an estimate about 10 months ago, then I called on a Friday afternoon to say I finally wanted to move forward, and they had my bathrooms re-tiled by Tuesday evening. Everything looks great.
