He was so kind, patient and helpful and absolutely no pressure from day 1 up until the carpet install. I was very indecisive and Jer remained patient and let me take home samples at least 3-4 times before I finally decided on a carpet that I liked. I have a very difficult HOA with specific instructions on pad approval, delivery and install. Jer gave me all of the information I needed and made the process go smoothly. He also informed me of a sale which made my purchase an even better value! I appreciate great customer service and this is definitely the place to go for it! Great selection, options for your specific needs and no heavy handed sales tactics. Had a great experience at Carpet Exchange. Dropped in on a Monday evening. We had the whole place to ourselves. Was looking specifically for 15+ year carpet that was especially pet and stain resistant. Jer took us right to the best options for what we needed. He explained the differences in the pads without pushing the most expensive one. They had an option on certain brands of carpet to get a blue backing which helps with pet accidents. Jer gave us all the pertinent info without steering us toward a particular option. We had taken some measurements ourselves and used those for the estimate. The price Jer quoted us was consistent with the quotes I received from two other companies. Unfortunately, we ended up going with another company due to scheduling. Another company was able to schedule us a couple weeks sooner. Otherwise, we would have definitely had Carpet Exchange do the job. We had shopped 2 other places for flooring. We have been in our home for over 30 years so this was our 4 th time replacing flooring. Trying to order and having flooring installed by this store was an utterly miserable experience. From the first day of the job, it was clear that the salesperson, Harrison, has shorted us on materials. It took the installers 3 separate trips over the course of nearly 2 weeks to finally complete our install. Meanwhile, the salesperson was more interested in complaining to us about his petty drama with the installer than he was in doing any actual work to track down the problems with the order and fix the situation. To make matters worse, the manager I tried to work with was so unbelievably lazy, that she couldn't even be bothered to look up any invoices or help us in any way to finally get our job completed. She also hung up as I was trying to ask a question and lied about calling me back. I had to resort to calling a different carpet exchange store to get someone to help me go through invoices and figure out where the Arvada store had screwed up. We had to track down the installers ourselves to get them to return to complete the job because the Arvada store refused to help us and no one from the corporate office would answer the phone. Think carefully before using carpet exchange for any work. One star is not nearly low enough for this experience. They don't care about finishing the job once they've got your money. And if you do choose them, absolutely do not go through the Arvada store. Guarantee you'll wish you hadn't. read more

I would never recomend Carpet Exchande in Arvada for granite countertops. Miscommunication is a key word they like to use. Problems that happened: Over charged, installers arriving late into the evening, backslash pieces lost, work not done as agreed to. Also full payment is required before work is started. Poor customer service and turnaround time. We selected an area rug in a size that they apparently didn't have in stock, which sort of surprised me considering they're a big box store. We were told it would take 2-3 weeks to arrive, and that we'd have to pick it up from the store ourselves - no door delivery. Ok. Also were told that we couldn't get a refund if we didn't like the rug in our house since it was a "special order" (due to the size not being in stock). Probably should've given up right there, but we didn't - went ahead and paid for the rug. After 3 weeks passed and not a peep, I called the store. "Oh it hasn't arrived yet, deliveries are on Wednesdays." No apology, nothing. Said they'd contact me the following Monday to let me know status. Monday passed - and now it's Saturday, more than a month later from initial purchase. I called today. "It hasn't arrived yet." Ummm.. then the salesperson said they could have their boss contact me on Monday. I was about to say "well that's what y'all told me last week but it never happened," but she hung up on me before I could say anything more. Unbelievable! read more

The sales staff are professional, courteous and efficient. The installation crew were on time and did a very nice job. They always would ask if there was ever a doubt on how to proceed. They would have earned one more star had the office credited me the one additional unopened package of flooring that was left over. It shouldn't matter if the flooring is something they stock or not. We recently purchased a new floor for our basement rec room. Turns out the floor needed to be perfectly flat, and most basement floors are not, so the price went up by 40% after the fact. A two to three day project stretched into 2+ months. The crew that prepared the floor with cement were professionals, helpful, courteous, on time, great communicators. I should have gone with a different company but maybe this will save someone else a headache. Just to get someone out to measure my home and get a proper quote was a nightmare. But I got an apology and a small discount to make up for the trouble and so decided to use them to install our carpet. They were booked out a month for install and when the guy showed up (late) to do the work he said he had to go find someone to help him move the furniture... even tho we paid extra and it is clearly stated on our invoice that we need them to move furniture. He said he'd call when they were headed back to get the work done. No call, no show, and 3 hours later, I'm on the phone with the office (a very rude Andrea) who is saying they can't come back until next week now because we didn't take the bedding off of our beds. The bedding?! I'm 9 months pregnant and would've happily stripped the beds to keep our job on time if the crew had mentioned it to me! So, now we are fighting them on getting our money back as these guys are clearly unreliable but, Andrea is threatening some sort of cancellation fee!!! They didn't communicate proper expectations, over promised and under delivered, and the only thing they've been successful at is taking my money up front and not showing up to their appointments! Oh and being rude to a pregnant lady on the phone when she has complaints. Classy. I'd recommend going with Lowe's or Home Depot over this company. read more

If you go to this store do not hold you breath for any kind of customer service. The salesman did not take care of anything and never returned my calls. For whatever reason the paperwork was wrong from the beginning, but no one has fixed it and problems seem to keep snowballing. I had to call them to schedule the delivery of the flooring 2 weeks prior to installation, the people at the store seemed to think it was already delivered. The installer drove a store to pick it up for delivery, they told him it was already delivered, then they told him it was at another store.This actually happened two days in a row! Friday the office girl called me and took responsibility. Monday the manager blamed the installer that they had hired! Saying he was a numbskull and he was going to call him and give him a piece of his mind. What kind of operation are they running at Carpet Exchange? Can't anyone take responsibility or give me a straight story? I just want my flooring installed at this point so I can say goodbye to Carpet Exchange. If you go to this Aravada store you have been warned. I will never do business here again. read more

Ugh...I have to admit, when I heard those four words every man hates to hear, "Let's go carpet shopping," I wanted stab myself with a chain saw. In fact, I was so serious, I suggested, "Let's go buy a chain saw on the way." No chance. But when we walked into Carpet Exchange, it was so much different than I anticipated. We were left alone when we first walked in..perfect. It gave us time to asses the layout, (me an escape route) and my wife the colors, samples and styles. We were greeted by Andrea, a fresh, inviting and very knowledgable manager. She listened, took us to a couple of suggested styles, explained what the current trends were, what to stay away from (if you have pets) and then left us to ponder, pick and peruse the store. As it turns out, we left with a few samples of carpet, flooring and granite...and as of this writing...Andrea is knocking at the door to measure everything for an estimate. My wife and I bought a house and decided to change the carpet 1 week before the movers were scheduled to deliver our furniture. We talked to a few carpet companies and nobody could meet our deadline. We called the Carpet Exchange location in Arvada and we spoke with Stephanie. We told her our timeframe and she said she could meet our needs as long as we picked a carpet they had in stock. We met with Stephanie late on a Friday and she stayed with us long after the store closed to ensure we could look at all the samples. We picked a carpet we liked, she came to the house the following Monday to do her estimate, and scheduled the installers for Wednesday. The installers showed up on Wednesday right on time and were very friendly. The install was great! They removed and replaced all the old carpet, padding, and tack strip. After the installation, they vacuumed the whole area and left our house very clean. There was no damage to the walls, doors, or base trim. We were very pleased with our experience with Carpet Exchange and love how nice our new carpet turned out. The service, price, and options were great! read more

Recently moved into the area and my daughter used this company with a reasonable experience so I went in. Karen helped me pick out carpet and vinyl flooring. When it came to install time I called Karen to give her the lockbox number and found out Karen had left and no one bothered to let me know so now I was working with Andrea her boss. Andrea does not communicate well. I had paid for specific trims and transitions, which did not happen. I called the store multiple times and had to go into the store to get a response. They sent over the installer and we discussed what to do. We did not do the trim and transitions, so I called the store back and requested a refund. This took multiple emails and was finally given a refund for the materials only, not the labor that went with it. This is a company you will have to project manage and document what you need. They really don't care if you get good service or what you paid for. read more

Beware what you are getting in to with them. We were mislead by sales person as to the type of hardwood we were getting. we were told it was Maple. Now after 2 years and it separating, gapping and having dents, we learn it is Birch. We own that we should have double checked but when the sales person says it is Maple and a good hardwood... So they sent out an inspector to see what might be the issue, and shocker since they did not install it, it is being blamed on the install. Our installer is fabulous, had multiple high rated reviews and we confirmed independently with past customers. Just a company trying to make money anyway they can and not stand by their products but uses poor employees that mislead customers. read more

Was asked if needed furniture moved because if so they need to charge more, we did but they failed to put any of it back, should get refund for that. It's Sunday at 1:30 PM and I walked into the store, there's 3 employee's, all sitting at computers. One is already helping a customer, so one female employee tries to quietly tell another employee "it's his turn", he replies "I'm on the phone". The female employee than shakes her head in disgust, as if she doesn't wasn't to work. I continue to walk around the store as if it didn't happen. After a minute or so of walking around and not being helped, I walked out. These skin covered skeletons are the laziest, rudest, oxygen consuming leeches I've encountered in a while. read more

Carpet exchange in Arvada has some horrible contractors. I've never seen anything worse then this! After they installed the floor, our whole kitchen was covered in sawdust (which they promised to us wouldn't happen and advised us not to cover anything up), they screwed up on some flooring and had to redo it (that took several weeks and dozens of phone calls to just get them to come here again), damaged our walls (which they never fixed). Absolutely unprofessional attitude, bad quality work, terrible customer service...this is the last time we're dealing with them! read more

Whatever you do, do NOT buy here unless you have a contractor come with you. The sum of our experience is this: We were sold a laminate flooring that apparently soaks up water like a sponge and quickly gets ruined if more than a few drops of water hit it. We found this out TWO WEEKS after installing it, as we had a kitchen pipe blow up and flood part of the floor. NOW, we're having the rest ripped out because of a plumbing accident. Did the sales lady bother to mention this? NO!!! Would we have happily bought something more expensive that would be durable in areas where there *might* be a chance of getting wet? HECK YES!!! Bottom line: The sales staff doesn't give a rat's patootie what they sell you, as long as they make the sale. You as the paying customer deserve to know what you're buying, so either hire a contractor to guide you or do it yourself. read more

This place is terrible. Would not advise anyone to purchase carpet here. Their customer service is awful. They installed carpet in my entire house. The basement carpet has gaps in certain places and they have refused to fix it claiming a wall trim issue. Which is silly given that issue didn't exist in the rest of the house. Should be negative stars, horrible flooring experience, worst ever. Had a home that I am selling, tenants moved out, so I needed flooring fast. Was told they could install in 2 weeks which I thought was a long way out since I have worked with people who usually do it in one week. I had other things to do to the home first before putting in new floors, so I agreed to 2 weeks until install. No word from them, so I called. Get oh yeah, the vinyl is late, so it will be next week. Then, no word again, I call and they say there was an error in the vinyl, so another week. 6 weeks later they finally go to install, first installer breaks one of my toilets off and leaves in middle of floor. The other toilet upstairs was not reconnected properly and leaked all over. So, I am out an extra mortgage payment for the 6 week install and they only offered to take off the $45 toilet charge which I did not even know was added to my price, cost me over $100 to fix. Plus, we wanted our personal home quoted for new flooring as well, a guy came and measured just for one part of the job, and then we never heard from them. So, I guess we dodged that bullet. read more

I came in looking for tile for my bathroom. I was greeted and shown many different types of tile that would work for my project. When I provided the measurements, I was told they need to have someone come out to measure it professionally. I decided to take some samples home before making a decision on which one to buy. When I made my decision and called to schedule a time for measurement, I was never contacted back. Three phone calls and one email later, I haven't heard back from them about scheduling a measurement appointment. I am not sure what happened, but I will be taking my business to someone who returns calls or emails. read more

Not sure what happened here. John came out to measure on June 1st and said he would have an estimate to us by Thursday June 4th. It's June 11th and we haven't heard a mouse fart from him. So obviously we won't be using Carpet Exchange but I have a feeling even if they did get back with an estimate we would not go with them. My contractor can get it at wholesale price from her flooring provider. I am saving $1000 compared to another local flooring store. read more

I was pleased with my experience. I needed slab rubber pad because I have infloor radiant heat. Carpet Exchange was where I got the pad last time as well as the carpet. To help save money, both times they allowed me to buy pad based on the actual square footage and not the overage for carpet seams and cuts. It was 75 sqr yrds pad and 98 sqr yrds carpet both times. I was a little nervous about the install because last time I had my guy do it and this time was through the store. However the team they sent out was excellent. There were three guys. One concentrated on the stairs and the other two the bedrooms and hall. They moved the furniture with no damage and were careful. They took things up and then scrapped the floor for staples. I vacuumed, not because they wouldn't have cleaned up, but because I wanted to inspect the gypcrete under the old carpet. In the areas that they cleaned up because it was plywood (one of the stair landings and stairs) they did an excellent job. The installed carpet looks great. Very nicely done details. All the installers got a tip as I was so pleased. Forgot to mention the sales people. John Bess was the original sales guy but got transferred mid project. He was the one who looked up my old info, and got the new pad pricing. Margie Shore took over after the transfer and was a delight to deal with. Very nice, no pressure lady who answered my questions and helped me select samples to take home of several types of carpet and different colors. If you shop at the downtown store you can't go wrong with John Bess. If you shop at the Arvada store Margie Shore is an excellent person to deal with. read more

OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE!! We lived in the Denver area for years and had Carpet Exchange install carpet throughout our home in the past. Things went fine and the price was great. We used them again recently when we bought a home in the Vail Valley. After shopping prices in this area and in Denver, Carpet Exchange was very competitive, so we selected them again. I don't write many reviews (but we read them all before we buy), but we had such a GREAT experience this go around, we wanted to give VERY POSITIVE FEEDBACK about Carpet Exchange. After having an issue with the carpet (there was a manufacturing quality issue) and the original install, we filed a claim and were amazed and thrilled with how Carpet Exchange handled the situation. While it's always nice that things are flawless the first go around, I'm a business professional and recognize that sometimes there are issues, and the TRUE quality of a company is how they respond when a situation hasn't gone well. Leann in Claims was outstanding. She sent an independent expert to look at the issue; they were more than fair in determining there was an issue, and then Carpet Exchange was amazing in remedying the problem. We selected a different carpet (we worked with salesman Larry Noyes at the Arvada store who was fantastic!) and the re-install team (lead by Sam from the Coal Mine store) was excellent. The installers were careful in moving our furniture, made changes to the way the carpet was laid out to minimize the light showing on the seams, and didn't cause any damage to our baseboards, etc. The carpet looks beautiful and the install work was great! This was the least stressful carpet installation we've ever had and the overall experience with CarpetExchange was exceptional! CarpetExchange did an amazing job.
