Michal was great from the beginning. He was courteous and on time for the initial estimate and was very patient with us about the HOA rules in our community. We had 9 windows done and a french rail slider. He was able to give us a very competitive price and even had to go out to find the matching color that our HOA wanted. He told us that the job may take 2 days and they would have been done in 1, but one of them came down with a stomach flu. Replaced 34 year old windows with modern double-pane vinyl. Got a few price quotes, one for $18,000, another was $12,000 and finally Michael's which was a little over $6,000. Just had all the windows at our house replaced by Custom Exchange - they did a great job!

We wanted to replace our old windows and were looking in market. We called Sears/Brother's but their quote was very high. Then a Google search for "double-pane glass window San jose" brought me to Custom Exchange: $299 per window, installed. I called Michael was friendly on the phone, and we made an appointment. He quickly wrote an estimate--$299 per window, any size, no tricks or traps. I added grids to mimic the look of the old windows which are needed to make association happy, so I paid $350 per window. It took around 2 weeks for the windows to be made and then Michael call us. Robert showed up to install them. He worked very hard and efficiently, was polite, clean and didn't make a huge mess. He installed all 8 windows in 4-6 hrs. Every window was perfectly installed and works just right. The windows are from "Alside" which are the same ones Sears uses. I have used Custom Exchange Windows on several properties. They have excellent product, service, and price. I have no issues with any of the windows they have installed. They clean up after the work is done with broom and vacuum cleaner. They will contact tenants in rental properties to schedule the installations and replace the window coverings after the work is completed. The windows are installed in a day or less. There is never any worry about the installer going into your home because he has worked with the company for many years. Both the owner and installer are honest and trustworthy. We spoke with four companies and went with custom exchange because they came highly recommended by our neighbor. From the very start, Mikal was extremely professional. This is what we liked about our experience a) Option to chose from several brands of windows. We eventually went with Simonton brand. Custom exchange offered the most choice in brand of windows compared to the other companies b) Cost. Mikal gave an exact quote and the actual price we paid stayed the same. With other companies the cost was double and in one case, four times, what Custom Exchange quoted. A third company quoted less than Custom Exchange but there was so many "ifs and buts" and unknowns that we were concerned that the final cost may be much higher than initially quoted c) Reliability: Mikal fixed a date for the installation and completed the job exactly as planned. We changed all the windows in our home and a patio door, changed one window to a garden window. He showed up for all appointments exactly on time. As working people, it was great that we did not have to deal with no shows or delays d) Very thorough and professional installation. The team of two was incredibly focused on the job. We just had the 20 windows we purchased (Simonton Daylight Max) from Custom Exchange Windows installed and I am extremely happy with the results. Everything was very smooth from beginning to end- no problems at all. Once ordered, the windows actually came in a little ahead of what I was told, which was nice. The installation took 2 days with the installers there from 8am to 2pm. They worked quickly and efficiently and did a beautiful job. I did get 3 other estimates and, with the exception of Renewal by Andersen who was a complete scam/ripoff, Custom Exchange's quote was slightly less than the other companies.
