I was so happy to find out that Custom Care does medications for pets as well as humans. I have an 18 year old kitty that needs to take medicine daily. Currently the medicine is in the form of a pill that she hates taking. A friend suggested I check out Custom Care. In speaking with one of their pharmacists I found out they could make her medicine into something flavored, or even a flavored liquid, which may be easier to get her to take. I was in so much pain because of my knee. I tried meds, yoga, and Stretches recommended by my doctor but nothing helped for more than a week or two. I had to stop walking and I'm an avid walker and of course I started gaining weight because I was becoming sedentary. A friend recommended East Bay CBD for their muscle and joint pain relief lotion sans TCH. It's a miracle cure. I'm back to walking and only use it when my knee starts to feel sore. I haven't had any major flare ups and most importantly I feel like me again. The lotion has a nice scent and I paid around $40 dollars for about 1.5 ounces that was less than my doctor's visit who only recommended stretching more before and after my walks -- which didn't work. Custom Care versus a regular drugstore (like the ones that rhymes with TPMess or Fight Maid) is like comparing a meal at a 5 Star restaurant to a fast food burger joint.....they both have their time and place where you must go, but at one place you expect amazing service and the other one, you're lucky if you can find someone to refill the mass ketchup that is out. Custom Care really goes above and beyond for their customers, priding themselves on providing the kind of service that brings a smile to your face. When my poor Dad got hurt, Custom Care folks helped me pick out the right cane to get him back on his feet. Years ago, when I needed crutches, I took my prescription here and was able to rent them (who wants to buy crutches when you hopefully will never need them again?) And when they filled prescriptions in the past, they were great about calling to advise around pick-up, answering questions etc. For a Pharmacy/Drugstore that is actually Pleasant to be in and with Nice people....Woohoo! The Good: I've been using them for a few years now and their prices are fantastic - plus for a small fee they deliver prescriptions! They do compounding for pets prescriptions - how can you beat that! The Bad (well, bad for me) and the reason for only two stars: They left me a voicemail message today that I needed to pick up the balance of one of my prescriptions within 48 hours because they are turning into a compounding-only pharmacy. All non compounding prescriptions are being (or have been?) transferred to CVS. This is the first I've heard of this - I don't like CVS so I guess I'll have to search around for a different pharmacy. I doubt I'll find one that delivers in this area. read more

I've been using this pharmacy for over 7 years. In the last 12 to 18 months their service and quality has gone downhill. I have a compounded cream that requires an applicator and I'm now on my third refill where the applicators do not attach properly to the tube causing much waste. Since this stuff costs $80 a month, I would really rather not waste it. When I called in for my last refill I told the person who answered the phone, who is not a pharmacist, about this problem. When I picked up the refill, the pharmacist was not aware of this problem, and tested it with two different applicators and confirmed the issue still exists. There was no easy remedy and I'm just about to run out of the product or I would have left it with them to fix it. Given the price increases, the lack of service, and the lack of attention to detail when a customer lets them know there is a problem with their product, I will be pulling all of my prescriptions from this pharmacy and going to a different compounding pharmacy. Please know there are many compounding pharmacies in our area and you do not need to go to this one. They could have at least offered a discount. Additionally, my doctor recently prescribed a new compounded product that I initially received from them at the cost of $280 a month. I found it at another compounding pharmacy for $80 a month. When our sweet dog Beckett had his leg amputated in January, his leg was sent off to a specialized lab for pathology. The official diagnosis went from osteosarcoma to Valley Fever (a fungal infection) that ate away at the bone in his leg. Our vet recommended that Beckett take an anti-fungal medication for the next 6 months to "kill" any remaining spores of the fungus and called the prescription into this pharmacy since they had the best price for the medication. The pharmacy was great at calling to let me know when the prescription was ready. When I arrived at the pharmacy, the guy working the counter wasn't so great at listening, but I did get the medication and was sent on my merry way. They were able to fill an entire 6 month prescription in one fell swoop and sadly, after paying a little over $200 for the medicine, I promptly lost or misplaced it or threw it away. As soon as I realized I couldn't find the pill bottle, I called the pharmacy and they were able to refill the prescription within a couple of days. Expensive misplacement on my part-I had to pay for another whole round but we hope this makes our tri-pawed healthy for many years to come. read more

This is how ALL pharmacies should be run. Excellent service. I have a doctor in San Ramon and when I see that doc I always go to San Ramon Custom Care because I am there, and they always have what I need. I understand why this place works so much better than your average CVS, where I do business most of the time. SR CC Pharmacy has more pharmacists, and more cashiers waiting to help you. They also have a comfortable waiting area with chairs and magazines, so those of us in chronic pain don't have to stand in line for literally 15-20 minutes (like CVS) just to drop off an RX, and then we can choose to sit down or visit the grocery store, after our order is taken. The order is usually ready in 10 minutes, and if they don't have enough of your medication to fill the RX, they overnight it to you and you get it in two days, at your door. So once again, no standing in line to drop off, because they have 3-4 people dedicated to taking your RX. While waiting, you can sit in comfort. They will overnight your RX if it can't be filled completely. What more can you ask? Everyone there is friendly and customer service oriented; the owner is right there working and ready to answer questions. Why should dropping off and picking up RXs be a long, painful and frustrating experience, like at CVS?? I wish I lived nearer to a custom care pharmacy! read more

I received a call from San Ramon Custom Care Pharmacy to let me know my prescription was made and was ready for pick up. I drove to San Ramon, I picked up my prescription and I was out the door. hehe I was asked by this guy (friendly) if I wanted him to explain how to go about using my prescription. lol Usually, I would go along and have the Pharmacist explain in details to me on how to use medications, but for this particular prescription I got .. I was too embarrassed so I declined. Of course, if he was a she then I would most likely have accepted the help. I usually don't like to talk about female products with a guy I just met 5 minutes ago. haha Overall, this Custom Care Pharmacy in San Ramon was nice too with friendly staff and easy to find location (Thanks to my GPS). Update: I phoned in my refill, which I used their automated system without having to talk to a real, live person. All you need was your 7 digit prescription number + confirm partial last name to make sure it's you. Of course, if you preferred speaking to a live person, there was an option for that too by staying on the line. Now that my kid is in pre-school (headquarters for cooties), we are at the pharmacy nearly every other week. I like that it has a neighborhood shop feel instead of a big national chain store. I used to always go to one of those national chain pharmacies for our prescriptions but was always feeling frustrated after a visit. Many times, my doctor would call in the prescription and a couple of days later, I'd go to pick up the prescription. Only the prescription wasn't ready because they didn't have the right drugs but no one had bothered to call me. Anyway, I digress. San Ramon Custom Care Pharmacy is a small shop that carries non-prescription medications and various first-aid supplies in addition to the prescription drugs. They help you keep your focus and won't try to distract your attention with magazines or milk or lawn chairs. In addition, they have a small play area for the kiddies (that includes foam blocks and kid-sized table & chairs)...just be sure to use lots of hand sanitizer after my kid has been there. read more

Came here coz my pediatrician told me that renting the nebulizer machine would be free here and it was! This is a smaller pharmacy so the staff seems more intimate and knows you well if you come often. I rented the nebulizer and went home with 2 inhaler and steroids and such for my wheezing son. The staff here are really nice, they worked on my last order even tho they had to close 10mins after I was there. Shortly after I walked out with my &70 meds, all the employees locked up and went home after me. Was nice to know they all worked together on my last order and sent me home with meds. This place also sells a lot of injured equipments and crutches and elderly portable toilets and such. Now I know where to get wrist guards and all that stuff. read more

Joe takes the to find discuss the right compound that will heal your aliment and takes plenty of time with his customers reviewing the medication. On many occasions the insurance company denied paying for the medication and Joe worked it out everything. I have never had to pay more than the copay.
