What can I say? Certainly not enough. Dr. Brandeis has helped me completely turn my health around…read more I was originally referred to him by a very well-known doctor in the Danville area who is a personal friend. He said that Dr. Brandis is the ONLY doctor I should go to regarding urology issues. After a few appointments, I was impressed. I decided to buy his book titled "The 21st Century Man". Wow, what a book! I didn't just read the book. I grabbed a pen and a highlighter and I studied it. I actually took it to him to show him how deep I had gone. Amazing stuff that our doctors don't tell us. Also, a side benefit of having met him is the fact that he is an expert in ED and rejuvenative medicine. due to his guidance and expertise, I have lost weight, gained muscle, and I'm now sleeping better than I have in the last 20 years. My sex life has dramatically changed...what a thing to celebrate. I would not only recommend him, but I would highly recommend him. Due to our age differences... I am 70 years old... Seems to me he will be my doctor for the next 15 years if I'm so lucky. Five stars is all I could give him but otherwise I'd have given him seven!!! Also, his staff is amazing. Everybody cares and I feel welcome anytime I call or walk into his office.

Made an appointment with this Dr after getting a referral from mine. 4 days before the appointment…read morethe office staff called and told me not to come in as they don't have any records to review. I asked why their website says "walk-ins welcome". Didn't get any kind of response. Good thing it wasn't an emergency.

Avoid, avoid, avoid! I went there for a follow up on a possible kidney infection and uti. I went…read morebecause I couldn't get in anywhere else quick enough, now I know why. When I got there I had two young girls follow me everywhere. They said I needed a urinalysis and then told me I needed a physical exam where the doctor inserts his fingers Into me. I let them know I was not comfortable with this given I was on my menstrual cycle. They both made strange faces, left, then t came back and told me the doctor insisted it get done or I can't be checked today. I was so angry given I brought him all my results, ct scans and we did a urinalysis. I hesitantly agreed since I was not feeling well and as I was changing, without knocking, both girls walked into the room. They didn't even apologize and opened the door wide. They proceeded to do something then left while I'm sitting there half naked. When it was time for the check, the doctor came in and was immediately smug about my symptoms. While checking me both girls stood and stared up the curtain which was so uncomfortable. After the test, the doctor came back and said he couldn't be sure it was a kidney infection and gave me some random medicine samples. I asked if I could get the results of the urinalysis and he said I could call if needed. Well I called and emailed twice, and never got a response about the urinalysis results. Needless to say I was traumatized and angry. I did not know about my next appt and did not get any notification it was coming up (I of course would've canceled). And now I get a bill for 50 dollars for missing it. I went to a normal urologist, who never had to insert their fingers in me, who did everything the way he was supposed to and yes I did have a bad infection. AVOID!!!!

Bittersweet feelings about this doctor…read more He was very informative about pointing out and showing proof of the incompetence of ValleyCare Medical Center radiologists and another doctor. He affirmed when my family has experienced with the VC radiologists; for the most part with my family's care that they just cannot read X-Rays correctly. Some horrible and dangerous errors have been made by VC's radiologist at our expense...incredible. Beware of that issue. He was more helpful than ANY of the many doctors assigned my care during hospital stays. He didn't do any "ass covering" for doctors who had messed up my care. That is very appreciated by my entire family. Big loss of stars regarding respect for our time. My husband was by my side for most of the experiences with Dr. Schmidt, including taking time off from work. Not happy about Dr. Schmidt's disregard for our time. When hospitalized, he was many hours late visiting me to release me from the hospital. During in-office visits, he left a lobby filled with patients waiting and waiting and waiting. First visit- the lobby wait was about an hour and a half. There was also a long wait in the exam room. During my second visit, I became very frustrated after waiting in the hallway for the staff to return from lunch, waiting in the lobby and then waiting in the exam room. The exam room wait alone was an hour. After that full hour wait, I got dressed and asked a receptionist if the doctor was even IN the office. She answered that he was not there, nor would he answer the several pages she made to him. I asked for my co-pay refund and happily walked out of his office. Our time is JUST as important as any doctor's time.

This review is based on my visit to doctor Schmidt's office with my father, who is in his late 80s…read moreand needed help during the visit. My dad was nervous about going to Dr. Schmidt for a urological exam, as he hadn't been to a urologist in decades. Like many doctors' offices, you end up waiting a bit once you arrive at Dr. Schmidt's office, but it was fairly comfortable and the wait to start the exam wasn't terribly long. The only complaint we had about this part of the visit is that the front desk people can be a bit brusque and abrupt. They weren't rude, but they weren't welcoming and warm either. A bit of charm would help. The doctor was incredibly thorough and patient with my father. He spent close to an hour talking to my father and mother about my father's medical history, what kind of problems he was experiencing and other matters to give him a full understanding of what he was working with. It was refreshing to see a doctor take his time to really get to know his patient. My dad found Dr. Schmidt to be personable, professional and warm. After that, the doctor did a physical exam and gave us his overview of the medical situation and a proposed plan of action to help my dad. It's still early in the process, but after the first office visit we are very pleased to have found Dr. Schmidt.
