After another consult I decided to proceed with the brow lift in addition to my facelift and I'm so glad I did. What a huge difference. I was given a prescription for a strong pain medication to use after the procedure if I wanted, but I never needed anything other than over the counter Tylenol. All that worrying was for not because there was no pain with my procedures! It's more of a weird feeling because things are tight and numb. Incredible! He was driving and collapsed forward in pain and could not regain a sitting position. It took 6-8 weeks of testing, imaging, medications and overwhelming frustration and concern. We ended up in Dr. Gardiner's office where he carefully examined the data, including approximately 50 needle samplings through our son's liver to the sight of a 2 in. mass. After Dr. Gartiner's review, he looked our 22 yr old son in the eye and said, Let's just get it out and evaluate the entire mass. My son was relived. The surgery had many complications since the mass had grown around the vena cava -- one wrong move and he could have bled out on the table. The diagnosis came in stages, took 6 weeks, and was found to be an extremely rare type of "tumor", an infection may be a better term. We were referred to the appropriate doctor/medical discipline and he was on Big Guns antibiotics for months. I give Dr. Gardiner credit for saving our son's life -- it was really close! He was a guiding light (BTW: SRV Hospital gets a D- for their part -- refused to give him any attention, not even water which was approved as was food, and the nurses just ignored him. We went to the Ombudsman who was nice, but the nursing staff... something very wrong!

UPDATE: I had the surgery and there were 3 hernias that needed repair. The doctor and staff did a great job. The surgery lasted about 3 hours, more or less. The pain was under control, however I did get very sick on the narcotics they gave me. I can't handle narcotics, so that wasn't really their fault. It is the second day and although I spend much time resting, I think each day gets better. I will continue to recommend Dr. Gardiner as a very good surgeon, and If I or my husband ever need surgery again, this is the doctor of our choice.

I'm a bigger lady and, because of that, need the bigger blood pressure cuff. The woman who took my blood pressure in the office used a small blood pressure cuff, causing a false reading of high blood pressure because it was severely constricting my arm. When I mentioned to her that I'm just fat but don't have high blood pressure, she just shrugged me off and told me to go to my doctor every few days to have my blood pressure checked leading up to the surgery. My doctor, being an actual medical professional, took my blood pressure correctly and determined that I did not have high blood pressure and immediately questioned if the woman that attempted to first take my blood pressure was even a doctor. Hilarious, inconvenient, but ultimately no big deal. My surgery date came and went and I immediately noticed afterward that I was having issues holding my pee. I mentioned this to the "medical" staff at Dr Stompro's office and they informed me that this is normal after surgery and that it should go away with time. When it didn't, I brought it up again and one of the "medical" staff at Dr. Stompro's office pointed out that it may be because of weakness in my abdomen or because of fat putting pressure on my bladder?? I don't know, whatever. So I continue on. I ignored it, I tried to treat it, and here we are. Y'all, I'm THREE YEARS past the surgery and I'm not even 30 and I'm still incontinent from this surgery. I've gone to a urologist that was too fat-phobic to even try to diagnose me, a physical therapist that figured it had to be because my pelvic floor was weak (then she determined it isn't), and another specialist that has finally determined that it may be a nerve issue (further testing needed). All we know is that I wasn't incontinent before the surgery and I am now. I called Dr. Stompro's office recently for the paperwork associated with my surgery so that I can pass it along to the specialist to see if it helps to determine a cause of the incontinence (and thus a fix) and the front desk person was rude for no reason?? I think she assumed I was getting the paperwork to sue?? I'm sure they all know I would have been able to sue because, and I cannot express this enough, INCONTINENCE IS NOT AN EXPECTED OUTCOME FOR LIPOSUCTION. Look, if I weren't outside of the statute of limitations I WOULD sue but, since I am, I just want to stop being incontinent. I'm still fat after my liposuction, which I don't mind! I'm soft and shapely and I love that, I just want to stop peeing on myself randomly. I'm now leaving reviews everywhere and filing a complaint against this office - I spent nearly $15,000 to be incontinent for potentially the rest of my life. After struggling with my weight for many years, in huge part to my type 1 diabetes, i finally decided on gastric bypass surgery. I met with Dr. Estakhri for an exam and consultation. She took my health history and gave me an exam. She was very professional and not judgmental, which is something i appreciate very much. We discussed my diabetes and what she wanted me to do before having the procedure. (Most people need to lose 10% of their body weight before having the surgery, but for me, we just wanted to lower my A1c to the 7% range.) After working really hard at gaining some control over my blood sugars for 6 months, Dr. Estakhri and my diabetes doctor both agreed that it was as good as it was going to get without the surgery. So we set a date! I met with Dr. Estakhri again before surgery to get my prescriptions and to go over the details of the surgery. Naturally, I came with my list of questions. She was very patient with me and answered every single question i had. We discussed how to handle my insulin dosages the day of the surgery since i'm used to handling them myself. We discussed what to do to prep for the surgery, what the surgery actually entailed, what to expect when i woke up and the hours after. I don't think there was a single detail missed! Finally, the day of the surgery came! It went VERY smoothly! Dr. Estakhri checked in with me regularly and i went home after only 2 days in the hospital. I then went in for post op appointments after 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and one year. Each visit was very productive and positive. We discussed my labwork, what i was doing with my diet and exercise, and then what i needed to do or continue to do. My progress has been gradual and not as dramatic as some gastric bypass patients, but Dr. Estakhri was still very happy with my progress, as was I! Today was my one year post op appointment. I've had issues with my blood sugar dropping during exercise, so i've been working on fixing that with diet and insulin control. Dr. Estakhri was very excited to hear how i've started getting a handle on that issue! It's a long term goal and she reassured me that even though it can take some time, it's a goal within reach. I had a list of "One Year Post Op Reflections" i'd written and she happily listened to each one. I told her about my exercise (what i wanted to do, what i was still afraid to do), and what i felt i had achieved. She was happy for me, and knew exactly what i was talking about. I know she has gone through the same discussions with all her patients, but she still acknowledged my feelings and made me feel understood. I have never felt rushed with my appointments with Dr. Estakhri, and it has always been discussions - not lectures. She never judged me and always listened to me. I had ZERO complications with my surgery and although i've come so far, i know i still have farther I can go. Dr. Estakhri is supportive of my progress and encourages me to follow my plan. Also, the staff at Dr. Estakhri's office are all very friendly and helpful. They know me by name now. :) I have not had issues making or changing appointments, getting answers to questions, or getting calls back after i leave a message. Even being "new" to this medical group, I waited the shortest period of time I have ever waited, I was greeted warmly by the reception staff, the nurse took extra time to chat personally with me, and was totally unrushed in taking my vitals, discussing med history and so forth. Dr. Oliveira has been my favorite doctor since I began seeing her. She's quick witted, articulate, intelligent, extremely knowledgeable and committed. I see her very infrequently, and yet, each time, without fail, she remembers family member names, occupations, events from years ago. She shows her "human" side with ease, is comfortable discussing anything and as such, makes the patient feel comfortable. I cannot think of a high enough recommendation to give to a woman in need of an extraordinary physician.

My Experience With EliteMD -- Disappointed With How My $1,000 Deposit Was Handled…read more I normally don't write reviews like this, but I feel that my experience needs to be shared because this situation has been extremely frustrating and financially difficult for my family. I initially contacted EliteMD after my pregnancy because I was struggling with my weight and postpartum depression and was hoping to find a treatment that could help me feel better about myself and my health. After my consultation, I was told that I needed to place a $1,000 deposit to secure my procedure date. I paid the deposit by credit card, and everything was scheduled. However, before my appointment, I found out that I was pregnant again. I immediately contacted the clinic in November 2025 to let them know that I could no longer move forward with the procedure. At that time, rather than discussing a refund, I was told that the deposit could be held until after I gave birth. I understood that at the time and did not push the issue. Then, in January 2026, I was laid off from my job, and my financial situation became extremely difficult. I contacted EliteMD again in May and asked if my $1,000 deposit could be refunded because I was no longer in a position to proceed. Unfortunately, I had a very difficult time getting a response. I called multiple times and felt like I was being ignored. Eventually, on September 2, someone finally took the time to help me. I was told that the refund would need approval from multiple levels of management and that the process could take around two weeks. I understood that there could potentially be a processing fee because I had originally paid by credit card, and I was willing to accept that as long as I could receive my deposit back. Later, I received a call telling me that my refund request had been denied. I explained my situation again and asked if there was anything they could do because this was a deposit for a procedure that I never received. I asked if she could please speak with accounting one more time to see if they could help me. She agreed to ask again, and I waited. Then, on September 23, instead of receiving a phone call, I received a text message stating that they had processed a $500 refund. I was honestly shocked. I asked whether $500 was the maximum amount they could refund, but I never received an answer to that question. I was simply told that the $500 had been refunded to the card I originally used and given the date it was processed. So, to be clear: I paid a $1,000 deposit, I never received the procedure, and I was refunded only $500. I understand that businesses have policies, and I understand that there can be legitimate costs associated with credit card transactions. I would have understood a reasonable processing fee. But losing 50% of a $1,000 deposit for a procedure that never took place is very difficult for me to understand. What makes this even more painful is the timing. My family has been going through a very difficult period financially. I was laid off, and I am currently dealing with significant expenses while caring for my child, including hospital bills after my son was injured in a fire. Right now, every dollar matters to my family. I am not asking for special treatment. I am simply asking for what I believe is a reasonable explanation: What happened to the other $500? Why was only half of my deposit refunded when I never received the procedure? I would genuinely appreciate an explanation from EliteMD regarding how this amount was calculated and what policy allowed them to retain the remaining $500. I am sharing this review because when someone is looking for a medical practice, I believe they should consider not only the treatment itself, but also how the practice handles patients when circumstances change unexpectedly. My experience left me feeling very disappointed and unheard, especially during a financially difficult time in my life.
