Came in on my lunch break from work to have a new radio put into my husband's Jeep as a Father's Day present. From the time I showed up and chose a radio to the time it was finished was about 45 minutes! It took me longer to walk across the street to Taco Bell to get lunch and come back! I wasn't expecting to be able to have time to install it, I figured I would pick out the unit I wanted and come back after work to have it installed. The radio I chose has a CD player, aux cable hook up and blue tooth. Very basic unit to replace the stock unit I had. I was shown how to work the radio (I'm a hands on person, so reading a manual wouldn't work for me) and I was back at work in about an hour. Very thorough service. The person who changed the wire that goes into the central console, was very very rude. His attitude was basically you want it or not. I felt as if i was being scolded. Every time I drove past this place I'd always see someone coming out and then decided to check the Yelp reviews before I took my girlfriends car in. She has an 03 Audi A4 and had purchased a double din navigation system with bluetooth and microphone but Audi's are a pain to remove, so instead of fighting with it I decided to get a quote from Thong. Quoted price was $50 for the install as I had all the other parts. Took him about an hour to install the unit, mount the gps antenna on the dash and the microphone in the top of the window. Very clean install, quick and never tried to upsell me. Girlfriend was so pleased that a week later she took her car back to have tinting done which cost half the price of all other Mountain View shops!! The CD player in the head unit of my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee was on its last legs, so I finally broke down and decided to have a new car stereo installed. I chose Custom Audio based upon their Yelp reviews, and was very happy with the choice. I settled on a Pioneer 8400 unit that has bluetooth streaming, a rear USB connector, a Pandora app, and also receives HD radio signals. The unit is awesome, I wish I had upgraded earlier. I generally don't like dealing with car stereo sales people, as my experience has been they are not that knowledgable and also very aggressive. I therefore really enjoyed working with Mark, who was both very knowledgable and helpful without giving me a hard sell. The installation took about 45 minutes and the result has a very clean look. Went in to get keyless entry for my car. Guy on the phone said it would only take an hour. Well I got there, gave them my keys, and waited. Two hours later, they came up to me saying that the lights would not flash for some reason. I'm told them I could come back another day that I had to go. Asked them if the locks would work they said yes. I left the store, and realize something was wrong right away. Because when I signal the doors would lock and unlock until I turned off the signal. Then when I got home, I got out of the car and was unable to lock it with the keyless remote. So, I tried locking the doors manually, this didn't work because as soon as I locked it Unlocked itself. So I called the guy, he seemed apologetic for the problems , he told me to come in tomorrow. So I went in the next day, spent another hour in there freezing wait room Because they have no heater. They told me they fixed it even showed me the lights flashed when locked and unlocked. Took my keys and went home. When I got home I was excited to use the remote for the very first time to lock my doors. No success. The lights flashed but didn't lock the doors. So once again I had to drive down to the shop which is twenty mins away, to tell them it didn't work again. The guy said the brand I chose is a cheap brand and be tried three boxes to try to get it to work. And that he would either have to order new ones which would take a week or two. Or for $50 more he will put the viper keyless in. I told him that's not a deal because that's what it would have cost me if I had went with the viper before. I asked if there was anyway he can give me a discount for my troubles of having to come back twice, and they sold me a product that did not work when they told me it would. He told me no. I asked well since I'm coming back to get my radio installed will he install that for free a $35 value to install a stereo. He told me no because he already spent four hours on my car. I told him that wasn't my fault. He then say listen either spend the $50 to have your keyless lock work or wait until we get more of the cheap product you want in. Stuck in a rock and a hard place I decided to spend the $50 so I wouldn't have to come back ever. So, after spending the extra $50 the locks still would not work. At this point I demanded my money back. It took convincing him to refund me, he kept saying he spent a lot of time working on it and he would not refund me for the labor. to make a long story short he gave my money back and I left. Now, to make things worst not only did I waste two days and hours of my time, the door locks wont even stay lock now. The doors after 15 mins will automatically unlock itself. I called the shop and they said its not their responsibility since they refunded me. This place is a joke. Moral of the story I will never come here again. I would advise all not to come here. They will quote a price to get you in the door then screw you over so you have to pay them more. Plus this place is over priced on their stereo equipment. You can buy all there items cheaper on amazon about 65% cheaper. read more

If it was for me i will not give them any star. they are rude . I got a DVD Player installed in my van and it never worked. when i went back they did not do anything. i lost my receipt so the person told me he is business man if i don't have my receipt he will not even take a look. if you happen to get the things done from this shop make sure that you have the receipt till you have this stuff. they seem to use computer but i thing it is just a printing machine since they don't seem to have any records. that is what he told me. this person was not polite no manners . i called there office a day before and told my situation that i don't have any documents then they told me to come for a look but when i went there they simply refused. what a waste of time !!!!. if you want to still go there have fun 1!!!!. read more

I am mystified by all the 5-star reviews on here. Went down to get a quote for two alarms in my vehicles. Arrived and place was closed for the week due to a family problem. Unprofessional, but kind of hard to not give someone benefit of the doubt, obviously a small business. Even though I needed to get the alarm, I waited a week and went back based on reviews here. Big mistake. Called first and couldn't communicate because the guy barely spoke English. Got there and communication was just as bad, and rude. Asked for alarm options and prices. Guy runs around shop looking for brochures and prices for 5 minutes then says "I very busy," implying it was a waste of his time. I couldn't even get basic information language issue was so bad. He gave me price for one alarm. I asked if I could take brochure, thinking maybe I could review options and then get pricing later. He says it's his only copy. The alarm he priced for me seems to be the Viper 350 that almost every review on here is mentioning for $199. If that's what you want and you feel comfortable not having any communication, then maybe this is your place. Also, I don't understand how this place has 4.5 star average with so many 1 star reviews that echo my own experience. I had another place quote me $130 more for the alarm I mentioned. I'd rather pay the premium to get professional service. read more

This is a small little shop that's run by a husband and a wife. The guy installs anything audio, alarm and even does window tinting. Called them the previous day to set up an appointment and the guy said to just come in when they open up and he'll have my USA-Spec ipod adapter installed. Would take 45 min to an hour at most. Got there first right when they opened, showed the guy the product and he quoted me $70 to have it installed. I think total time to install was like 30 min at most. He asked me where I'd like the wire to loop through and he suggested a drill which I allowed. He showed me how to use it, which is super easy. Great guy to deal with and no hassle at all. Overall satisfied with the job but the price is nothing special for 30 min of work. I'm pretty sure the job could have been done for $50 or less. The waiting room is pretty nice with plenty of magazines to read. read more

I was told by both Best Buy and by Crutchfield that I would not be able to get a double-DIN radio in my 2003 Audi A6, even though the stock radio is double-DIN sized. Best Buy even went as far as to say if I have the Bose stock sound system that if I wanted to replace the deck, I would also have to replace all speakers just to make it work. I called Custom Audio on a hunch just to make sure there was no possible way - and not only did Le tell me he could do it, but he spoke with confidence - no "oh yes, I've heard that can be tricky but I can probably do it", it was more "oh yeah, we can definitely put it in, it will definitely work, have no fear" On top of his confidence he was also ready for me to bring the car right over and have this radio installed. I went to the shop, re-iterated my concerns given what other places had told me, to which he reassured me he knew exactly what to do and that everything will go well. I had my doubts (just because the other places sounded so sure this was a bad idea), but I let him have a go at it anyway. A mere hour later, my car was ready to go, complete with the new double-DIN sized radio with LCD screen. Custom Audio threw in the extra wiring and adapters needed to resolve whatever issue made Best Buy think I would need all new speakers - nope, was just a few wiring adjustments! The radio fit great in the space just I like I expected it would, and I had sound from my custom radio sounding amazing coming through the Bose speakers. These guys really know their stuff. If you want your new stereo installed professionally and work perfectly, I highly recommend Custom Audio! read more

This place sucks. A total waste of time and money. The costumer service is horrible. My sound system was not working properly, and I took it to their place for a replacement. They told me that the audio system is not working properly and suggested a replacement to a brand new. Once I got back the car, the audio system was still in that poor quality (way below the quality my original speakers had when I bought the car). The guy in charge (who could hardly speak English), shamelessly refused to provide any explanation. I am completely dissatisfied by this place and do not recommend it to anyone. read more

My Infiniti G35 factory Stereo was fried and it cause my car battery to die. I have to pay my car mechanic $200 to remove the factory stereo. After 5 weeks without stereo, I purchased online an aftermarket Sony stereo and the G35 car kit from Crutchfield. I send my car to Custom Audio and it cost me $80 to remove the AC from the old stereo (yes they are integrated), install the new kit and new Sony stereo. Good workmanship and he does not try to sell me any speaker or any amp. It would have cost me around $800-$1000 to get it replace by Nissan. read more

Just brought my old Subaru Outback in with all locks not working and issues with the security system. Le quickly installed a replacement keyless entry system and fixed the shorted out system. Dropped in on a Friday afternoon with my 25 year old Volvo. I'd replaced my car's battery and my stereo, which has always worked perfectly, no longer worked at all. A reset, the standard remedy after a battery change, didn't do the trick. I told my story to the reception guy and he said it would be $30. To look at it? Will it cost more to do the repair? I asked. No, we will fix it for $30, in a few minutes. Wow! I couldn't believe it. The repair guy had the unit out of my dash so fast it startled me and before I could text my husband and my best friend, he had done the repair. I asked what had been the problem and he explained that the fuse inside the unit was blown, something neither I or my car mechanic could fix ourselves. I have mixed feelings about this place because I really had a great experience on the customer service end of things, but in the end I had to inconvenience myself and go back for a cd/radio player that was not installed correctly - and even after it was "fixed" it continued to work off and on - especially the bluetooth (upgrade) I got. My cd and radio work okay now, but I feel like I wasted money on a more expensive product (with the bluetooth I do not even use). read more

Have an older 2003 Murano, which apparently there are few places that carry the iphone/ipod adapter for. Not only did they have it in stock, they installed it in less than an hour! He spent extra time showing me how it operates and making sure that it was installed how i wanted it.
