Went in to install my speakers and stereo, left without my speakers installed and my amp pulled out and still had to pay the same quoted price for worse audio quality. Somehow during the swap the oem amp on my vehicle wasn't cooperating and the speaker system that was intended for use in my car was apparently not going to fit according to them. They did a good job on the camera install and the radio swap but I paid a $700 service fee for worse audio quality. For a place called "sound systems plus" it's kind of embarrassing, they couldn't even offer a replacement amp or a solution to my sound problem, no discount for just pulling out my amp and not installing my speakers. Had an overall great experience at Sound System Plus from the knowledge level of Brian and his staff to the customer service they deliver. I received quotes from several different places and decided they were the best fit for a few reasons. What separates Sound System Plus from other car audio shops I found through my research is they stand behind their install with a lifetime warranty! I purchased a component set of Infinity Kappa for the front and coaxial in the back also Infinity. I also purchased an Alpine AMP to just power the speakers. My needs that I was looking for was car play so I purchased the Alpine ILX-207 and loving this head unit and all the customization EQ tweaking that can be done. I previously owned another sub and an amp they installed without it even being purchased there and from them!!! TO ME THIS IS HUGE!!! When i picked up the car I was so impressed with the craftsmanship that went into the install. 0 wires showing the tweeters are in my door panel beautifully positioned. Brian let me know if I had any issues to bring the car back with no hesitation. The only thing I have noticed is the cigarette lighter in the dash area and center console are no longer working. I'm sure it's just an unplugged cable or something but looking forward to my commutes overall more! read more

Today was a great experience from start to finish. I already had an alpine deck I bought through crutchfield, which turns out to be sound systems plus brand of choice. Brian had his installer put in infinity front and rear speakers - the result - high fidelity with no external amp. I like infinity too and knew this was the best choice from what he had in stock. While the install was happening I had some great conversation with Brian and it turns out he is also into classic cars and his shop does a lot of installs on classics and hot rods. I went to Sound Systems Plus looking to fix a previous stereo system install from a couple weeks back. The employee Caesar was really hesitant but after talking for a little bit, he agreed and set an appointment for me. I just bought a 2020 Hyundai Elantra and dropped over $3,000 at a Express drive thru stereo install place (I know, sounds stupid, and I'm now well aware of what happens when you don't research before hand) and ended up with a front and rear nonfunctional dash cam, scratched tint and windows from no spacers, a stereo that went out every day going to and from work, and every time I push the drive mode, the dash flickers, music skips, and some times the dash goes blank, blacked out. What I purchased from this express fast food drive thru stereo place was 4, 6.5" Focal Access 165 door speakers $600. JBL 1220B 12" sub enclosure w/ subs $200. And a Kenwood X502-1 amp $200. And Thinkware FA200 dashcam $180. If you know anything about car stereo equipment, you would ask, "Where did the rest of the money go?" And I not knowing anything except how to trust someone (not anymore) would reply, "What do you mean?" Then you would say, "Well, I did the math and thats about $1000 for equipment and maybe a few hundred for the install. Where did the other 2 grand go?" Any ways, let's go on. I had to drop another $1,000 for proper amps and spacers. But now I finally have a stereo that doesn't short out every freaking day and I can blast my metal. Some punk ass kids tried to jack my beater for a joy ride today. My vehicle is a beater and has no anti-theft capabilities. Luckily, I stumbled upon these kids where trying to get into my vehicle. I was able to scare them off. I got worried that they would come back. Based on a recommendation from my friend, I drove to Sound Systems Plus all the way from SF. As I rolled into my store, I received a warm welcome from the owner. I told him about my situation and he recommended that I install a Viper alarm system with a kill switch. He quotes me a very decent price and I agreed to proceed with the install. I was all ready to pay and realized I was 10 bucks short. The owner was cool about it and gave me a 10 dollar discount. I drove all the way across the country and my car's miserable audio experience compelled me to find a solution once I reached San Jose. Sound System Plus was recommended to me by a friend who lives here and I made my way to the shop one morning. After Julio gave us a brief overview of the options that were available (I wanted to have an FM transmitter installed so I could charge/play my iPhone 4S), we decided to have them take care of it. A few hours later, I came back and presented a 20% off coupon which was happily accepted. There was a problem with the initial installation and I heard static upon departing. I came back a half hour later and Julio had one of the mechanics check it out. We thought the problem was the cable, which came as a surprise since apparently their failure rate is less than 1%, according to the proprietor. They told me the issue was solved and I drove back home. The next morning (a Monday) the static started yet again. I drove to the store and explained my situation. After an hour, the FM transmitter itself was diagnosed to be the source of the problem. It was repaired and I am happy to say that the setup works just as intended.
