My brother and I have been going to Guru Electronics for our Car audio & Electronics needs for over 20 years. My last car was rear ended & considered a total-loss. I replaced it with a used Subaru Impreza that didnt come with a reverse camera. My mom uses the car alot, so she's going to need the reverse camera :) I arrived 15 minutes before closing on Friday and since I didnt want to keep them after closing, basically told them what model car I just bought, and what I was looking for. Double din head unit w/ reverse camera, and some aftermarket replacement door speakers. They asked if I wanted to keep the steering wheel control functions, which I did... so he mentioned what else I needed in order to keep them functional with the new stereo. He asked if Android Auto / Apple play is important to me, and if i wanted it wired/wireless. This day in age, we want everything wireless and convenient, so I said yes to the wireless feature! I mentioned I was interested in component speakers for the front doors, and he suggested where to install the tweeters, and also told me I would need some mounting plates for the dashboard for the tweeters. This way I dont have to drill a hole in the door panel. All in all... Its nice to have someone ask the right questions to ensure I had everything I needed to complete the installation over the weekend, because I would not have had the tweeter mounts if he didnt ask about my installation. I would like to mention that I wanted to have everything I needed for the weekend installation project, so I didnt check around for lower prices, but when I got home... the "Asian habits" in me decided to check prices on Amazon, and Guru's prices were either on par... or slightly below Amazon's prices! TLDR: Make sure to go inside and around the right for Guru (the owner) The actual labor and installation of the audio is 5 stars. Customer Service is 2 stars... it needs a lot of work. I didn't know what to expect coming here... I waited at the front of the garage for about 15 minutes. There was a guy smirking in the front, doing something with cables, 2 other people working on a car, and another guy going in and out doing some kinda repair work on a truck outside. None of them said hi to me. But I know they all saw me. It was very weird. Finally after about 10 minutes of waiting (I figured maybe the owner was on lunch, since this was about 1pm), I walked up to the smirking guy and asked if the owner was here. Then he just nodded and pointed to the right, which was a very small aisle BEHIND a big stack of boxes. It was very off-putting. But I was here, and I had a time crunch. The actual owner was nice... he asked about my car, and then showed me some models. I made a purchase, and he told me to come back in 2 hours. I walked to a nearby Carls Jr, about 7 mintues away. 2 hours later, right on the dot, I get a call to get my car, and they close sharp at 4:30p. The same guy who was walking in and out (remember fixing the truck), was the one who showed me how everything worked, helped me pair my phone. I paid about $950 after taxes. I don't know if that's a good deal, but everything works well, no scratches around the dash. If it weren't for the unwelcoming first impression, this would be a 5 star for me. I first went to Guru Electronics Car Audio to upgrade the speakers and head unit for my 2014 Honda Civic EX in November 2025. I was very amazed with the work they did. Sunny was very patient and informative. I love the new Apple CarPlay features my car now has and the better audio output. I later went back again last month, in January 2026, to get a newer, better dashcam (Wolfbox G900 Pro) to upgrade my old one, and I couldn't be happier. Even though the unit I received was faulty out of the box, Sunny just replaced it with all new parts and the problem was fixed. I also had a weird issue where one of the speakers was making a rattling noise, but it turned out to be just a loose screw, which was a quick and easy fix. They even added some sound-deadening material at no cost to me, and it sounds even better than before. I highly recommend this business. They have top-notch customer service; they truly care and have passion for what they do. I will return at a later time to possibly get a subwoofer for my car and maybe other things! This review for Guru Electronics isn't just about the couple of installations they've done for me, but also about how genuinely nice the owner and his son are! I first went to Guru Electronics a few years ago to have them install a dashcam in my 2013 BMW 535. The work was done very cleanly and professionally, and the dashcam is still working well today. Recently, I wanted to get an aftermarket CarPlay unit installed in my car, so I called about four places for estimates. Of the four places, Guru Electronics was the cheapest by far! Once the CarPlay installation was complete, Sunny went over the details of how to use the unit. I thought I understood what he explained, but a few days later I started running into issues: sometimes the phone wouldn't connect, or the phone would connect but I couldn't hear any audio, etc. I tried fiddling with the settings, but I think I made matters worse. (I also discovered there was a software update for the unit, but I couldn't install it because it required a Windows machine to format the USB drive.) So I ended up going back to them and showed Sunny the issues. He installed the update. Then got on the manufacturer's support line, sorted out a couple of finer points, explained what he had done, and had the unit working properly again. He was patient and pleasant the entire time. Guru is the owner's name. He's the older gentleman behind the desk who defers most of the "technical" questions to his son, Sunny. When I went to have the CarPlay installation done, I decided to wait there while the unit was being installed--they have a waiting room with TV and WiFi. While waiting, I started feeling a bit hungry, so I walked over to Mr. Guru and asked about places to eat within walking distance. He told me to wait, picked up a paper plate, and proceeded to give me shelled nuts and cookies. I was really touched by his gesture and started chatting with him. We talked about many things, including religion--usually not a safe topic! What I realized was how knowledgeable he was, not just about his own religion, but about mine as well. Tony the technician is 2 for 2 with some complex work I needed on both my Cadillac CTS (2008) and my Honda Odyssey (2001). On my Cadillac, after some bodywork, the backup camera stopped working. Tony did some thorough troubleshooting and discovered that when the trunk was closed, it became ungrounded--since the camera was grounded to the trunk, it lost its connection. Tony suggested grounding the camera elsewhere on the body, and it worked perfectly. I've never encountered a problem like this before, but Tony was able to track it down quickly and efficiently. For my Honda Odyssey, the key fob stopped working. I tried reprogramming it myself with an aftermarket fob, following all the instructions, but had no luck. Tony patiently repeated the reprogramming process several times and eventually got it working again. I highly recommend Guru Electronics, and if you're lucky enough to have Tony as your technician, you'll be in great hands. I'm so thankful I found Guru Electronics!!! My Cadilac CUE system for my Escalade was out of warranty and had ongoing issues. The Cadillac dealer would not replace the screen, thry would only replace the whole system, which was going be over $1500. Guru was able to install a replacement screen I had purchased on Amazon for $150. His installer knocked it out in less than 2 hours!! Went here because it had the best ratings on yelp and I personally experienced a 5 star service. I went in thinking I needed new RCA cables but they tested my wires and confirmed I only needed a new amp. They didn't try to push me on a bunch of equipment I didn't need like most places I experienced in the past. So I went ahead and purchased an amp which I'm really satisfied with and the job was really clean. Another thing is they quoted me a price and stayed true to it and didn't try to upscale the price with a bunch of hidden fees once the work was completed. At Gurus they do honest work as well as the workers there are all very well educated and know what there doing. I highly recommend coming here for a reasonable price and high quality work.
