I paid this installer $150 per hour to install my car audio system. While the system functions, I was disappointed with several aspects of the installation quality and attention to detail. The amplifiers were mounted inside the wheel well area, but when it came time to reinstall the trunk floor cover, it would not sit flat because the amplifiers were mounted too high. Instead of redesigning the installation so everything fit properly, the subwoofer enclosure had to be forced into the trunk, leaving a noticeable hump in the trunk floor. For a professional installation, I expected all factory panels and covers to fit correctly when the work was completed. I am also concerned about the amplifier placement because the amplifiers become very hot after driving on warm days. While I understand that amplifiers generate heat, mounting them in a confined area with limited airflow does not seem ideal for long-term reliability. Another concern is the grounding configuration. The capacitor was grounded directly to the battery, and both amplifiers were grounded through the capacitor rather than using a local chassis ground. While there may be technical reasons for this approach, it was never explained to me, and it differs from what many installers typically do in trunk-mounted systems. Better communication regarding the design choices would have been appreciated. Overall, the system works, but the fitment issues, equipment placement, and lack of attention to the finished appearance left me disappointed. You might pay a bit more, however, it is worth it for the quality of work your going to get. They have been tinting windows for many years now and definatly know what they are doing. Brought in our BMW to hav the windows tinted and the final results were exactly what we wanted. We are some very happy customers. My daughter just brought in her new car for window tinting and she is very pleases with the results too. I have been into car audio since I was a teenager in the 80's. To illustrate how old school I am, I remember when the name brands that everybody wanted were, Linear Power, Soundstream, Orion, Rockford Fosgate, MB Quart and the like. Sadly, many of these brands have gone belly up or are merely a shadow of their former selves. So every time I buy a car, one of the first things I do is rip the factory stereo out and put in aftermarket parts. A few years ago I was buying a 2018 Nissan Maxima and I stopped in to TNT to see what my options were because for the first time I was thinking of sticking with the factory head unit since it came with backup camera and other factory options that I didn't want to mess with. The owner Mike spoke with me for quite a while about going with a DSP and Focal speakers. Mike obviously knows what he's talking about and gave me a set-up that was in the range of $2,000. Certainly an amount that I was OK with paying but at the time I had a Best Buy membership that got me free installation on products and putting stuff on my Best Buy credit card got me bonus points on future Best Buy purchases. So I ended up buying similar products from Best Buy or Amazon and having my system installed at Best Buy. The system sounded pretty good and I ran that setup for a year or so. Then I ended up trading the Maxima in on a 2018 Infiniti Q50. I had the same equipment swapped over to the Q50 and was never really happy with it. I tried messing with EQ and other settings in the Alpine DSP I had bought but couldn't really get the sound like I had in the Maxima. So on a whim I decided to stop by TNT again and see what Mike had to say. He told me that he could try and diagnose what was wrong with my system, but first he said I should go back to Best Buy and see if maybe they had messed something up since they were the ones that put the system in the first place. Mike said something along the lines of, "I can certainly take a look at the system and see if something is wrong. But you'd be paying me for my time and if Best Buy screwed something up, they should fix it and save you the money of paying for me to do it." I appreciate this kind of honesty in the business world. Mike asked to listen to the stereo and right away said, "I agree with you. Something is wrong." He thought that maybe Best Buy had installed some of the speakers out of phase or something. So I called up Best Buy and they basically told me to kick rocks. When I explained the issue I was having to the person I spoke to, he told me that the only thing they could do was to the car back to stock. Well it had been about a year and I didn't have the stock speakers for them to use in the first place. So I went back to Mike. I took the car to TNT on a Thursday and gave Mike the keys to my Q50 and walked home. Mike said he would check everything out and then let me know what he found. After having the car for a few hours he called me up and told me that indeed the installation at Best Buy had been substandard and that I could come down and see what he had found. So I came back and took a look and listen and agreed with Mike's assessment. I also had previously bought some Focal speakers for the front doors that were on the lower end of the Focal quality spectrum. The ones I had bought are from their Access line and cost about $400, while the Flax ones that Mike recommends cost about $700. I was so impressed with the sound of the system when Mike had made some changes that I had him swap out the Focal Access speakers for the Flax models. So long story short, the car sounds WAY better than it had. Previously the speakers sounded bright and harsh. Now the system is clean with great dynamics. I guess the moral of the story is that I should have just went with Mike and TNT in the first place instead of trying to save some money with Best Buy. Mike knows his stuff and won't try to talk you into equipment that you don't need. He is certainly not the cheapest option out there but as they say, "You get what you pay for." The next time I am looking to upgrade my car stereo I know where I will be going. read more

Very pleased with the window tints from Top Notch Tunes! They are not opened on the weekends, so we made an appointment on a Wednesday afternoon. They do ask for a deposit. I made an appointment and when a few hours after I dropped it off they had already figured out it was 1 of 2 things. He did the cheaper repair which was hopefully the fix. Bought a used 2009 Impreza that came with a touchscreen head unit but only had stock speakers installed, and wanted to move the stereo system from my older car into this one. Called around and got the best price from Top Notch, so dropped by and explained what I wanted. My old sound system wasn't anything to brag about, but I didn't get any criticism towards it, and Mike didn't try to sell me on anything newer, which I appreciated. I brought up needing new 6.5 speakers, and that I had a budget which he worked with. Dropped the car off, came back a day later to everything neatly installed, hidden out of the way, with no trace that they had been in my car at all, with the stereo and EQ tuned to sound as good as it could. I brought my Tundra to get a Chinese brand Multimedia GPS Stereo system to Mike. The standard harness connection would not fit the original JBL sound system so I also brought a couple extra customized harness that would do the trick. I've literally dumped the unit plus a bunch of wiring with little hope that I would be back later and enjoy the new sound system. A call came in later in the day to let me know my Tundra was ready.
