I got a back up camera installed here and it was a solid experience. The owner (Alex) is flexible and reasonable, and employees are skilled and intuitive. They didn't mind me hovering around the garage or my occasional questions. The guy hooking up the camera knew how best to position it so it captures everything. There was a slight miscommunication where an employee ended up doing extra work that I didn't ask for and would've cost me a couple hundred more but the owner was fair enough to just charge me $50. The extra work ended up being nice, and I'm glad it got done. Location a bit confusing, once you turn into the alleyway, this spot is immediately on the right. I brought in my E46 M3 a couple months ago just to stop by for a subwoofer connection issue. Very helpful guys here at Sound Waves. Owner, Alex is very informative regarding their products. A while back, I got my amp and subwoofer installed here. I came back in search of a subwoofer smaller than my current one but still provided that "bass" and I'm impressed. Kicker L7 QB8 is what I ended up going with. Don't let its small size fool you. Amazing bass this small thing provides!!! (I now also have a lot of trunk space). I also recently visited to install an after market/Tesla screen on to my Infiniti. With reasonable pricing, I went ahead and got it installed by Mario and his partner. The guys definitely took their time and also started from scratch as they have never dealt with this type of screen installation before but they decided to take on the task (they took the time to contact customer support that was provided with after market screen I had purchased). After installation everything worked perfectly fine. I also had an issue with something and came back the next day and Alex and Mario was glad to help fix the problem as long as you're willing to wait if they are busy with another customer. We brought our new car in...the stereo didn't work. Dave and Mario were there. They pulled the console out. Fixed the problem within 15 minutes. Their prices are super-reasonable. This is the place to go for everything having to do with your car audio. (We called two other places...they had a 1 week wait time. Sound Waves told us to come in right away. I was having some problems with my amplifier wires and came in here. They gave me a fair price of $60 to rerun new wires and $15 to test my amp for any problems. They found out my amp was fried which makes sense because it's over 7 years old. I bought a new Alpine amp from them and they hooked up the new wires and set up it's settings for me. My total with tax ran up to be about $235 for wire installation and a new amp. I've been to other places before and was charged over $100 for installation. I got a very fair price for the service I received. I was not pressured to buy any product I didn't need and also got serviced as a walkin and was done within an hour. I'm really happy with the service I received here. I was sold a nice amplifier and charged fair labor costs. They were also friendly and helped me out on the spot. I also have a year warranty on the amplifier I bought from them. I will definitely come back here for my car audio needs. read more

I was disappointed in my experience after having read so many positive reviews. Basically, was charged WAY more for a backup camera than the AMAZON price which they advertised they would match, and when I complained, they offered me a pair of speakers (which presumably they would install at my expense). I asked three separate times whether they could make the camera work with my car's touch screen, and each of the three times they said it would require some special wiring harness and they'd check and get back to me. Each time, they didn't, and I am tired of asking. I can really only speak to the experience with the backup camera, but I don't have any reason to believe they'd be better with other services. My son had a stereo installed here. I first noticed that my volume controls on my steering wheel no longer worked. Several plastic pieces were not put back together but stuffed under the seats. They should have been put back where they came from and the hatch lock is not in the hole it should have been put through. Now it is hard to get the hatch to lock/unlock. I should have said something earlier but I hate confrontation. But finding out that my input to charge my phone, cam, etc doesn't work was the last straw. Nope! Had a horrible experience here. Turns out when the boss is away the mice will play. My husband was returning for a second time same service. He had called ahead to schedule an appointment he guy scheduled him and confirmed a price over the phone it coincided with the last price he paid last time for the same service. Upon arriving day of scheduled apt the price not only doubles... but the two men were speaking in Spanish and thought my husband was none the wise to what they were saying but he does understand and speak Spanish. What they said may shock you: One asked "How much do I charge him?" The other responds " $500 he'll pay!" To which the other guy turns and says "Your total is $550". Although same service last time cost $320. I told one of the workers that I have receipt last time I paid $320 same service- that guy said "go get it". And the other guy said "No I do not care it's $550" Asked to speak to manager or owner and they said they will come back next month- on vacation. Be careful- get quotes in writing. Do you don't waste your time dealing with crooks that don't appreciate return clientele. If your wondering my recommendation: Found this same service half a price at California Car Audio- they were very nice and appreciative of my business.
