Got the pleasure of getting an ambient light kit and footwell lights installed in my 2018 Audi A4 by the Xtreme HID team a few weeks ago. Alan gave me a small discount, making me feel confident in my purchase. He walked me through my car, managed expectations on what the final result would look like, offered placement recommendations, and had the work completed in about 24 hours. The work is solid. The ambient lighting is app-controlled, and the footwell lights are hard-switch controlled. Both turn on and off with your engine, as they're hardwired to the fuse -- not a typical DIY job connected to USB or cigarette lighters. 1-year warranty on parts and labor, which I hope I will not need to use. So far, I'm enjoying the lights, and it's probably the most exciting mod I've had on my car. It looks OEM, makes driving fun, and is a crowd-pleaser for passengers. Thanks, Xtreme team. I reached out to various auto electronics shops in the South Bay because I wanted to install a 360 camera system into my new 2025 Toyota Sienna XLE. Many of them ignored my inquiry, and a number of them wrote back only to ask whether I wanted a dash cam installed, which wasn't what I wanted. For the shops that clearly understood that I wanted an aftermarket 360 camera system, most shops flatly informed me that they don't perform this kind of custom installation, and Xtreme HID was among a very small handful of local shops that sounded interested in taking it on.  Given the scarce amount of information for how to perform such an aftermarket upgrade, especially for such a new model/year vehicle, I was nervous to try to do it all on my own, and my goal was to identify a shop that was skilled and willing to help me install it at a reasonable price. From the beginning of my Yelp interactions with Xtreme HID, I felt the staff's professionalism and warmth as they patiently and helpfully answered my questions about possible installation options and strategies for achieving my goals with this project. I was repeatedly impressed by the speed and thoroughness of their online and phone communication during my research phase, and it gave me the confidence that they truly care about their craft, about car tech, and about their customers. By the time I had actually acquired all of the new hardware (I needed to buy it first myself, since these were uncommon components coming in from overseas), I had a very easy time scheduling for an all-day appointment with Xtreme HID. This was a fairly involved process that included disassembling much of the interior trim, removing the factory head unit, connecting the new head unit, testing and mounting the four new 360 cameras, and routing all of the wires along the vehicle's existing cables and housings. I appreciated that the crew really took care to minimize any irreversible modifications to the car, and they took the extra time and effort to plan out their actions. They also did a really great job of keeping me informed of their progress throughout the day as I did my own work in their lobby, and I'm grateful for all of the points in the project when they sought my feedback for a particular decision. I felt like they respected my input and decisions, and also readily provided their professional opinion throughout the process. This kind of ongoing dialogue put me at ease and reinforced in my mind that these guys are trustworthy and detail-oriented. One of the unexpected issues that they encountered while working on this project was that one of the cables included in the head unit replacement kit was meant for older models of the Toyota Sienna. Without the right cable, the passenger airbag safety light would not turn off on the car dash, which posed a substantial issue. The lead technician ended up proposing a workaround that involved extracting the circuitry from the factory head unit to use behind-the-scenes in the new installation. He had to perform multiple rounds of testing to figure out which old components were needed, and then he fashioned a special housing to protect the circuit boards before tucking it away behind the new head unit. This was a creative solution to a problem that otherwise would've blocked my project from succeeding.   Overall, I'm extremely happy with the outcome of this project and love the new 360 bird's eye view functionality, primarily useful for parking this larger vehicle nicely within the lines -- the first time and every time. I also have a very small garage, so this helps me stay aware of my surroundings when parking in cramped spaces like that. This is not just some routine job, and I'm incredibly grateful that I found the crew at Xtreme HID to help me see this through. Even after the job was completed, I had questions and feedback to share with the manager, Alan, and he has remained so patient and willing to discuss the project even after the fact, which leaves me with an Xtreme-ly positive view of this company. I first reached out to Xtreme HID through Yelp Projects last year to upgrade the head unit in my 2006 Mercedes CLS500. This car holds a lot of sentimental value to me, but not long after that inquiry, it went into the mechanical shop -- and stayed there for 8 months. Fast forward to this year: the car was finally ready, and so was I. When I finally brought it in, I was greeted by Alan and immediately felt I was in the right place. He took the time to understand what I wanted, explained the process clearly, and treated both me and the car with genuine respect. I had already purchased the parts, and he even had their installer pre-check them ahead of time. On installation day, we hit a couple of hiccups -- but the way they handled them made all the difference. First, they texted me a photo of the backup camera that came with the head unit to point out it was low grade and didn't match the look and feel of the car. They suggested a better-suited option, and I agreed -- the replacement looks like it was always part of the car, and I'm very happy with the result. I found out my CLS's HID headlights were actually installed by Xtreme HID 12 years ago -- a surprise birthday gift from a friend -- and they're still bright today. Well here is an updated review on Extreme HID in San Jose CA. The one thing I have learned since 2021 is ALWAYS ask if they can do a job! I have a black 2011 Crown Victoria Interceptor and I have used Extreme HID for ALL electrical upgrades. I buy from them when possible but sometimes I have to get a part on my own. John and his staff are very knowledgeable and experienced on the Crown Victoria. I needed a door lock mechanism replaced-they fixed it as they had the part in stock. They also installed a custom rear spoiler (I thought I'de have to go to a body shop for this). Recently, I installed new headlights, taillights, and a front amusement light bar (for car shows). They repaired a spotlight, relocated the cell phone microphone and installed a LED light in the trunk. I recently learned they do Ceramic Tinting. (I had no idea they did this.) So of course, I had them tint the windows. As you can see from the attached video, another fabulous job! If I had a problem with anything they installed, they take care of it. I DO NOT shop around for the best deal or lowest price. I always value whatever John or his staff says. Extreme HID has done all my work and they know my car. Note: Adjusting this review due to the SERVICE that I got, I'll keep it concise. Back in November 2021, I took my car ('13 Altima Coupe) here for a quote and install for HID bulbs. I was charged: - 2x H11 6000k AC @ $38.75 each - 2x Ballasts @ $38.75 each - 1x Labor @ $55 Total came out to $224.53. My headlights were never modified, 100% OEM. Install went good, but I noticed my driver side housing had water residue inside from cleaning (not going to care that much since the shop cleaned it, which I appreciated). Very pleasant transaction. 8 months later, I am back in for another repair because the bulb is defective and apparently my headlight housing is old and caused that, according to the technician. I didn't realize that the bulb being defective could be so severe as to ruin my headlight housing completely; I was then told that I was recommended new housings the last time I was there. If this was true, then I wonder why a shop would tell me to get new housings only AFTER they had already installed HIDs into my old housing. The technician then proceeded to tell me that a new housing will run me $200 + $250 install, recommended me to get OEM, then went on EBAY.COM to look for an "OEM" style headlights. He pointed out headlights from DREAM TEAM MOTORSPORTS on EBAY and told me they were a good and reputable brand. This is the equivalent of asking me to buy one piece Rota's when I know about the manufacturing process behind BBS. The fact that I literally got recommended "OEM" style parts from EBAY.COM instead of actual OEM parts from Nissan USA was entertaining. Didn't expect that. read more

The D3S LED retrofit in my 2013 Tesla Model S P85+ has transformed my very poor HID headlights that rival the LEDs in the newer Teslas. Beam pattern is very good with no discernable hot spots.
